We were at the Kite Festival!

Read on the papers abt the Kite Festival and were keen to go and check it out since we have been keen abt flying our kite hahaa...Sat we din go coz had to go up North for family dinner and so off we went on Sun despite the rain that never seemed to stop....so we had to walk from a further car park (coz the one nearest is full) and with a brolly we went to the festival...

Guess they had programmes all lined up and just a pity the rain came non-stop and there was hardly wind for the kites to fly...so we took our goodie bag (which has a kite which we could attempt to fly again some day) and saw the intro of the inaugural kite fest...was kindof nice to see the stage full of instruments coz we wanted to see Act3 perform for the kids theatre...but the rain kept on drizzling and we had to make our way back for family dinner....guess they shld organise again next yr coz it received quite gd crowd (despite the rain and heard the previous day had more pple coz of the sunshine!) so next yr we shld try be early and sit there with picnic mat to enjoy the sky full of kites....here's a pic of the kites being hung coz they could hardly be flown since the wind din come yet....

It's been 2 months...

since we hit the pool coz of Ian's lingering cough and also the on and off bad weather these days...so today we immediately went for the pool the moment we saw sunshine and it looks really gd for us to jump into the pool...Ian can't wait...he's been asking to swim but weather has not been gd so he was really happy when he was waiting by the pool....so glad the sun is out today and it means alot for a boy who used to visit the pool at least once a wk...we will be back again

today Ian brought his little watering can along and he used it to soothe a crying baby...hehee he tried to bring the can to the baby who was crying and he was real happy when the baby really stopped crying and looked at his watering can...well well the baby was already thrilled when he saw this gor2 zooming ard in the pool...guess now Ian knows he could coax babies from not crying hehee what a fun time in the pool =p

Ian's such a dreamer =)

Hhmm such Ian was a baby we always wondered how come he's smiling when he's sleeping..dreaming of a place full of milk and honey?? hhahaaa that's why he's so happy?? Now that he is so much bigger, we do sometimes hear him LAUGH in his dream (yes those real hearty laughter and we would check whether he's alright but he's still asleep in his dream land)

This wk, mama see alot of 'dreams' Ian had coz on Mon nap he woke up and asked where is his sun? (suppose its sun and not son since he dun quite know what is son) so mama just din ans him but he got 'angry' and asked where is his sun...then mama pointed to the sun outside the window...wonder what did he dream of hhmm...

Tue nap he woke up asking mama where was dayi?? huh?? We are back home...he must have dreamt of dayi then he replied dayi at po2's house...hahaa he must have dreamt of the gd time he had with dayi when dayi was quarantined hhehee

guess he's such a dreamer like mama....the most classic was some time back he actually was napping and the moment he woke up, he rushed to the living room and played his toys...he must have dreamt of playing his toys and continued the moment he is awake hahaa...kindof curious what dreams this kid has huh...

Ian goes for his 1st play!

Today, Ian went for his 1st play at the Esplanade - Adventures of the Mouse Deer....we have thot of bringing him to a play that is appropriate for his age and were glad when ah mu extended the invite to join her family for the play...last nite, mama was trying to tell Ian abt this play coz need to prep him to sit there quietly thru the 40 mins play but he thot it was 'mouse ear' hahahaa just had to tell him it was another animal called mouse deer...well he did sit quietly to see the play and in fact when the tiger was trying to eat the mousedeer he did turn to mama say 'scared' but he was soon fine again...but he still dun wanna take pic with the cast esp the tiger who was deemed the 'scary' character in the play hahaa

Well he has grown up to enjoy such play....just waiting to see when we could go musical together at the Esplanade hahaa coz its mama's fav =) guess need to wait a long time more before he could appreciate it esp to sit thru the 2hr+....in the meantime enjoy all these fascinating interesting kids stories! But how fortunate kids are being able to watch such plays at their age...where on earth do we have such priviledge when we were younger =p

It's play doh time!

Ya thanks to ah mu who passed us some playdoh....Ian did play a couple of times at their pl but din quite manage to make much shapes coz he was busy hogging the roller pin....and so now he could do it all on his own...quite fun to have such art and craft time with the boy...will try more stuff soon! For the time being, its rolling rolling print!

Feeding birds = chasing birds

On Sun, we visited the SBG after Ian's nap (as usual coz a little outdoor would be gd for all of us!) so we were there feeding fish again but now Ian prefers feeding birds...coz he sees them hopping by wanting for feed and there he goes 'chasing' after them (as if forcing the bread into them hahaa) managed to capture down the video of him wanting them to eat (mean well for them) but yet he doesn't understand why they flee at the sight of him running after them hahaa....guess they will eat better after the little 'giant' goes away huh!

Its a SWAN not a DUCK!!

Last Sun, we had a chance to go by SBG to feed the fishes before going ah maa's pl for dinner and with ah ba's koi fish feed, the fishes soon swarmed the kids as they were happily sitted down feeding the fishes (coz its always a scary thot having them standing and feeding coz they look as if they gonna fall into the pond anytime as they toss the fish food in hahaa and they refuse to have our hands coil round their waist just in case!)

And we have the pleasure of having the swans coming to eat our feed as well....but Ian was shouting 'Duck' and Seth tried correcting him it is a Swan NOT a duck hahaa...it was quite funny and I managed to capture down the feeding and see how excited they were as they saw the swans swimming over and eat the feed they have tossed into the pond...until there was a stage we were trying to get all the kids to look at camera for a shot and we din notice the swans and 1 of it pecked on Joy's toe hahaha...perhaps they wanted more food but we were just too engrossed taking the shot hahaa...till today, Ian still rem it saying "Jie2 leg pain pain, the duck eat her toe!' hahaha just dunno how to tell him its a swan not a duck!

We went kite-flying!

After the kids got up from their nap, we went to Marina Barrage for kite-flying coz we bought a kite 2 days ago and have been keen to fly kite coz it's been so so long...hahaa but the place was so crowded or we forgot how to fly so we din quite get the kite flying but the kids were totally thrilled coz they just ran ard with the kite abit floating in the air and they thot that was kite flying hahaa...

The as if can make it look hahaha....with them wanting to meddle with the string we couldn't quite concentrate getting the kite flying in the sky...we will try again!

Nonetheless, it was a gd time out of the house (before going ah maa's place for dinner) for the kids to run ard the place and having fun 'trying' to fly the kite...it was super crowded guess its PH so everyone wanna be out as well....we did see some really interesting kites in the sky...hhmm maybe we need to get a more pro kite too hehehe but then we are amateur hhmmm

Venture into Sentosa on this PH!

We just love PH coz it means we could go out for more fun...tho weather was all wet and gloomy but the spirit of the kids weren't dampened! After bf, we headed to Sentosa and they were having so much fun waiting for train, here's their 'COSY' shot hahaa all hugging together on such a cold day bbrrhhh

Saw on the news abt the new Nature Discovery Park and here we are on the broad walk and the kids were running on it trying to check out more nature on it...guess it was wet so we din spot much creatures coz there were supp to be woodpecker and so on ard...well we shld be back some day coz there are more places to venture but its better to be in shoes...its kindof a little similar to Bt Timah hill nature walk....real nice and its now brought closer to our home hehee and more activities to do on this island!

There were many 'notes' ard for visitors to read on...here's Ian with ah mu teaching him abt the nature hahaha but this boy for looking for daddy to be carried sigh...

This nature place is v near the cable car station and Ian has always been so fascinated by cable car each time we pass by harbourfont and so now he got real upclose to them only to 'admire' them coz its too ex to take them...better to use our Maybank card that allows free ride on the train hahaa and the cable car station will be close at this mth's end...hope its more fascinating (for us to spend that hefty sum!) after its revamp!

There were lots of National Day special at Sentosa and we were attracted to this Sky Tower but it turned out the Islander pass was more worth the while and we concluded it was more economical for an adult to go with the kids coz only need to pay for an adult and Seth....and mama was the chosen one hahaa...kindof thrilled to bring the 3 kids up the sky tower...it was real gd view, did take down a video, will upload some days but the kids were totally awed by the view guess we have seen more view so din feel it was worth the while for all the adults to go up hahaa so better seize the chance before the other 2 kids turn 3 soon hehhe...suddenly feel so 'touristy'!

Here are the kids quietly admiring the view but it was quite hippy music when we first 'took' off the ground so the kids were dancing and swaying quite abit hahaa quite interesting!

They were just so thrilled by the view and being rotated up in the sky so can't quite sit v still for long so soon they were down from their seats to have a better view huh =)

After visiting the 2 spots, we headed back vivo for lunch and back to their nap....guess we shld be back some day since Sentosa is so near our home and there are more places to venture....just seeing what the IR is becoming, guess there are more theme parks to play as they grow up...we can see those slides in making =)

An extended lunch fellowship on National Day!

We met up with church friends for lunch at Vivo after church (coz usually we are at Marina Square to have a long brunch!) and it was kindof fun coz Ian has opened up to all the aunties and uncles (coz usually he's quite squirmpy in church hahaaa) and he was having so much fun esp after we went Ben and Jerry for some ice-cream...wonder issit the ice cream that made him high or made Uncle Ben high hahaa...Ian was with his ocean creatures biscuit and this Uncle Ben was trying all means to request from him hahaaa it was quite funny to see how Ian rejects his requests by saying NO MORE!

And then finally giving him some squids and it happened it was 2 squids (tho there were lots of fishes biscuits in the pack!) guess it was kindof different fun with adults and we went off 1st for Ian's late nap and hope he doesn't squirm up when he sees them in church next week =)

Ian turns 29 months old this National Day!

Another mth has passed....and we see that Ian's getting closer to daddy by each day...its a gd sigh coz mama always feel Ian shld be closer to daddy coz he's a boy and he shld do more manly stuff hahaa...but guess now he wants daddy more coz daddy is the one who will always carry him when he's tired...he will walk only he sees mama holding another kid's hand (ie Seth or Joy) but soon he will ask daddy, carry! But each day he's asking when's daddy coming back...guess he knows its play time when daddy is home so he really treasure each wkend when he sees daddy when he is awake from nap =)

Now Ian learns how to 'treasure' the soft toys more....he will cuddle the Pooh Bear once in a while (when he rems it!) and sometimes even giving it a peck hahaa....well his fav Disney character is Piglet...we also wonder why but he has 4 figurines of them, and he's always holding Piglet so tightly....and refuses to exchange for other character even tho mama will persistently ask for it...maybe coz he's born in the yr of Pig?? hahaa

Ian's getting more agile with his hands and feet...besides the fine motor skills he has mastered with the remote control car and spinning top, last week we visited ah mu's place and also the playground, he surprised us when he could mount on this scaling slope...we warned him it will be tough but he did it after a while, we were surprised how fast he managed to master it and soon he was happily doing it over and over again! The haze is back, wonder how long we gonna miss such playground days since Ian's beginning to love going playground but he has lots of it when he goes po2's place coz mama is a little lazy to bring him down hhmm

This mth, we have also gotten a bed for Ian....we have been co-sleeping with him since he could crawl up and snuggle in our bed (he was abt a yr old) but of late, the king size bed seems abit cramp for 3 of us but Ian just refuses to sleep on the mattress that was laid out for him (no matter how many times we told him there's NO SPACE on the bed) so we thot we got a nice bed for him that will entice him for the 'shift' hhmm he did drink his milk on the new bed on the nite we got the bed for him but after he finished his bottle, he just conveniently crawled and slept between us...gotta take more time to convince him to sleep on the sheep bed hhmm we shall see how long...
Some weeks back, Ian had a bad fall in church (really bad till all that were at mezzanine in church could hear the thud and then saw daddy rushing Ian out of the door coz soon he was wailing away) and we thot it was just some bad scratch on his chin....and he did tell us painful when he was eating that few days....we just thot it was some pain on gums and will go away but soon mama saw his lower left front tooth was a little loose (could see it 'moving' whenever he was being fed) and that few days later, mama was trying to clean his nose but he just turned and somehow the tooth got knocked out...ya, now Ian's with a missing tooth hhm just knew its only gonna grow permanent tooth when he's 6/7 yrs old so its gonna be some long wait before we see his little tooth sprouting again...was quite hard to capture shot of it coz this boy won't allow me go near it hhaaha so this is the best shot taken!

Just so interesting to capture down the growing up moments of this boy!

We were at REDSTAR today!

Yeah we yum cha this morning at Red Star, we have been wanting to go back there for some yummy dim sum coz this place brought back alot of memories coz when we were kids, ah gong will bring us there for dim sum and with all the trollies being pushed ard....somehow nostalgic as we went back as a family (tho much extended with our kids and spouses) and guess ah gong enjoyed the food with the kids ard busying themselves with dayi, jiu2 and jiu-mu coz they had their round of bf 1st

It was a gd time gathering and enjoying the food except that we were pretty selective of the food we now take coz some of the oily and fried stuff are avoided as we are all growing older hahaa...no more paper wrapped chicken but nonetheless we enjoyed the good time we enjoyed as a family! Gd place for family gathering hahaa

Ian is into GAMES!!!

Nope not the Game boy or WII coz we dun own any of it and won't own it in any time soon coz we know so much abt addiction so we always get toys which allow all to play if not take turns to play =) which is more socially friendly ahhaaa
Po2 has gotten a remote control car for Seth gor2 some wks back but coz Ian stays over po2's place every wk he also gets the privilege of playing with it...in fact last wk po2 brought it to our pl to play...just playing it a couple of times...we were surprised Ian was in fact controlling the car really well....slowly allowing it to reverse and go in the direction that would go straight...halting when its abt to hit something....we were TOTALLY amazed how this boy was playing some BIG boys game hahaa....

and last nite he surprised us with the toy we got for him last wk from NTUC....we have been sourcing for spinning top coz we went ah mu's place and thot it was a gd game for Ian to learn how to spin the top....he din even make it to let go of the top when we were at ah mu's pl but after we got our own...Ian managed to let go of the spinning top but he couldn't quite make it to spin the top on his own...last nite he said 'Let Ian show u' (coz we been saying let mama/daddy show u) so he mimic our words and true enough he managed to spin the top and the top went spinning...hhmm never underestimate how fast this boy is learning huh....but just glad he's picking up all these skills on his own...just enjoy such games without having to be glued to a screen hahaa =) will source out more interesting games for this growing up boy
