A shopping trip out to JB!

Yay! Its been a long awaited trip to JB as ah gong requested for a shopping trip there coz he wanna treat us to seafood dinner....so we went in 2 cars and Ian had his nap on the go....here's Ian in his shades with ah gong and po2 beside him...so mama could take her royal seat in front hahaha

We went shopping at Tesco and we went Gelang Patah for dinner...here's the kids with the 'yue guang he' which we adults ate when we were much younger...Ian had bowls of it and he loved it too....we had yummy dinner with chili crabs and all =)

And the kids were all clamouring ard Ian...here's Ian on dayi's lap trying coconut....he did enjoy quite abit after his filling dinner...hhmm glad we made it to JB today and it was fun shopping, makan and all =) all thanks to ah gong!

What a gd day to be out to fly a kite!

Aunty Lorraine brings much joy to all the kids in our family and they were all excited to go out with them on Fri. Ian was napping for almost 2h+ and since Lorraine is coming to pick us soon so mama woke him up.....when mama said Aunty Lorr is coming, he immed gave the grin and 'OK!' and jumped out of bed, put on his shoes and skip along the corridor!
What a gd day to be out in the Marina Barrage with the city skyline and the sun hiding behind the clouds (or haze huh?) and there we are enjoying drink and flying the kites (which we gotten from the kite fest the last time, was glad we had 3 kites so each kid could be busy with 1) and we heard the F1 racing cars passing by the town and the kids were so anxious to see them but guess they zoom so fast past so we could just enjoy the 'sound' they were making =) this time the kites flew higher than the last time =) and will try to make it fly even higher the next time!

Just so glad to be out in the outdoor and have some fun and picnic together =) and soon we were off to have our dinner which means wkend is on our door! Thanks Aunty Lorraine for bringing all of us out! It just made our day!

The sun, the sand and the sea!

For the PH, Ian was surprised to see daddy at home coz he awoke and said daddy go work but mama told him that daddy's home so he was pleasantly surprised for the day out! After bf, we headed to ECP where Ian had his sand play (its been some time since he went digging!) After a while he realised daddy was missing, so he packed up with mama and 'hunted' for daddy!

And found these HUGE footprints on the ground and decided to pose with them...hahaa maybe daddy left the footprints there??

There he was happy to see daddy with the bike and of coz with the child seat....so off they went cycling while mama took a 'time-off' hahaa....but upon seeing them return the bike, Ian was dozing off hah! So we decided to hit the pool since he took a brief nap....

To seize the gd weather we had the pool fun together....guess Ian just enjoyed the day with ALL his fav fun....just glad to have an extended wkend time together as a family =) the next PH we shld be away for hols =) =)

I want uncle to cut....

Daddy went to salon for hair cut on Sat and mama tried to convince Ian for a hair cut as his was kindof long....then he replied 'I want uncle to cut' hhmm coz it was an auntie cutting daddy's hair...so no choice we brought him to the barber opp our pl after his nap on Sun
wonder what's the diff between uncle and auntie who cut Ian's hair....maybe coz he's used to going to this barber opp our pl...well well whatever he sure looks neater after the cut....just waiting to see when he can sit on the wooden plank on his own wo daddy getting all the hair =p but Ian sure sit there quietly for the hair cut tho the previous day when daddy was having the cut, Ian told mama he was scared of the razor....but he braced himself thru it coz uncle was using razor almost all the time hhmm quite cooperative already =)

Chatting on the phone???

This is a video of Ian chatting with ah mu just after he woke up on a lazy Fri morning....he woke up late coz he slept late the previous nite...mama was busy changing bedsheet so he dashed out to pick the ringing phone....then started chatting non-stop....but just look at how he chatted...could roll on bed, cross leg and yet still chat as usual hhmmm the other day mama's fren called from overseas he also chatted as if it were ah mu, mama thot he was having his usual casual chat and after taking over then realised he was chatting on an overseas call aiyo....gd thing mama's friend called using Skype otherwise he could chat till pple go broke hahaha

Hhmm we are privileged to have a corridor which is not shared with any other neighbours...as in there shld hardly be anyone passing the big space in front of our unit....therefore mama started bringing Ian out for chalk writing on the ground....Ian was amazed by the colors coz he has hardly used or felt chalk...so mama introduced and reminded him it could only be written on that floor (in case he really go into graffiti hehe)

He had a gd time with the chalks....he just just drawing lines and more lines....shapes and then lines again....just a trial before mama brings out the easel board which we got from Ikea coz wanna Ian manage the chalk well in case the chalk 'dust' start flying ard hahaa...still thinking where to place it hmmm

The 'power' of Sunday Sch!!!

Its merely less than a yr since Ian started going Sun Sch (as in he's 'big' enough to attend it or he was just too noisy at the mezzanine sitting with us for the svc) and we rem those days it was tough getting him to sit still on the mat (as usually the kids sit/stand on the mat for worship) and he would ask mama/daddy to carry him thru the svc...it was tough we recall....these few mths he seemed more used to the worship and has started sitting still thru the worship altho he's still not keen to stand and sing....BUT...he's learning the songs and singing when he's back home so glad he's absorbing it and probably taking time to 'digest' and then do it at Sun Sch...dunno but its gd having him to sing and do the actions back home coz we are amazed he's really enjoying it!

The day Ian had no milk at all!

on Sat we went for the Comex so Ian had his nap on the go on our shoulders...it was amazing he could zzz for almost 2hrs with all the noise at the Comex...or issit our arms are so comfy?? Anw was quite surprised he din pee at all coz we din put on diaper for him...hhmm guess he shld be off diaper for nap soon just that there are days he can take really long nap so mama abit worried hhmm

Anw so he din take milk for his nap and when we came home after dinner at po2 and gong2's pl, Ian decided to mess the house with his toys...after numerous warnings for him to keep his toys he still din want to keep, we even warned him there's gonna be no milk if he doesn't keep them...still he was 'stubborn' hhmmm and he ended up going bed wo milk...well kindof 'punishment' for him coz we warned him of consequence....sigh how stubborn can our child get. Anw it also proved to us that he could still sleep wo milk hahaa....to prepare for any situation we might end up in not having his milk with us hhmm anw for this boy who takes enough food, milk is just an additional supplement I guess...but most impt we wanna let him have the msg we mean what we say! He din ask for milk when we were in bed but he still din keep the toy he had in hand...so soon he was asleep wo milk =p

Amazed by own reflection =)

Had the chance of having Ian in the changing room 1 of the day and he was totally amazed by his own moving reflection hehee....there were abt 5-6 rooms and he made mama go in to each of the room to wave and say hello to Ian....he asked mama 'Come to see Ian!' (as if he's some celebrity hehhee) and he was just so thrilled by the whole process =) managed to capture it down on video

Counting down to mid-autumn Fest...

Thanks to dayi who has given us a treat to the Goodwood park's D24 durian mooncake....it was yummy! The kids just love it (tho seth and joy were asking for more the durian than the skin) and were asking for more after they had their share! its always such joy to enjoy family dinner on Sat....this is the 2nd round of mooncakes we are sharing and just glad the actual day is on a Sat so the family could have some fun gathering round for family fellowship and to 'shang yue' hehee...ah mu has gotten the kids the lanterns...counting down to the week =)

Made a day trip to JB!

Yay on such a special day when daddy took lve just to go out with us, we made a trip to join ah mu's family in JB....hhmm Ian was thrilled when he knew we were gonna meet jie2 and gor2 and he was happy to take trains (to count the no. of trains that pass us as we were on the train) and to change bus then finally meet them =) best was coz daddy's with us =) =)
After ah bah picked us up, we went to the nostalgic 'Zhu-lin'...its been so long since we last visited this place and it has changed so much hhmm guess the last mama came here was even before Seth was born...the kids had such fun running ard the place to see the fishes in the fish tank and enjoy the yummy chicken....mama was almost tempted to bring home the emperor chicken coz it was what mama's ex-colleague did....will see when we get chance to eat it again

After the early brunch we went to Tebrau city where ah mu's fam gonna catch the movie...wish we could go since its real cheap but its Ian's nap time and mama also wanted to go shop ard hehee.... look at how happy Ian's taking the pic with gor2...we might try catch a show the next time since its FOC for Ian still...dayi, keen??

So we found this interesting playland in the shopping mall...it was really cheap to play in this indoor playground...Ian had a gd hr there with daddy while mama was shopping in the mall hehe

Daddy was surprised Ian napped quite immediately after daddy asked if he wanna nap...so off he went to zzz land on daddy's arms....then we took a tea break at the cafe hehee...such quiet moments sipping the tea except its a little heavy on daddy's arms hahaa...gave daddy a choice whether to let Ian nap in the theatre or on the go and he made the choice coz afraid Ian might be awoken by the loud sounds

Anw after we met the rest, we went more shopping at Tesco...before we adjourn to the nice dinner place where we are recce-ing to bring ah gong and po2 and rest to this place for dinner some weeks later....the food is great esp the moonlight river (hahaa translated for seth coz he was asking what's the plate of kway teow its was 'yue guang he' our fav since we were really little coz there was this seafood place we frequent with ah gong and now he wanna the whole fam including the kids to visit it again) and mama wanted to dabao again hahahaa....shall do it the next time coz it was too late when mama decided on it when we were abt to go....well well it was a gd time out of Spore and just shopping and eating =) what a luxury =p

We did get a cake for Ian!

hhhmm for some reasons Ian hasn't been wanting to come home with mama and daddy on Thur from po2's pl...wonder if its coz its more fun and less discipline there..or its a sign for mama to go back work?? hahaa anw we got him a cake when we returned home from po2's place, a belated 2.5 bday cake...its just a simple cheese cake but this boy was just overjoyed with it and was repeating his bday song over and over again!! hahaaa Happy 2 and half yr old, my boy!

Happy 2.5 yrs old to Ian!

hhmm have been reading a blog of my sec sch fren who celebrates every 1/2 yr milestone of her kids...real tempted to get a cake for Ian as well just that he was away at po2's pl on this special day...might get a cake to celeb with this boy later! This is a 'borrowed' pic from jiu2's bday of the boy attempting to blow all of the candles...boy, he really loves the bday song...except he's now singing wo the word birthday so with the same melody he's singing Happy to you...happy to you and he will pretend play with his cooking set and will make sure mama and daddy sing and clap with him hahaa...then he will blow the 'candles' and then cut to make sure we enjoy the cake too hehee

This mth, we see Ian being really wanting to be with adult play....the last we went with ah mu and ah bah to SBG he was learning how to stop the ball (instead of calling the ball to stop while its still rolling) and then kick the ball....just on mon, he had the chance to play with charmaine jie2 (coz dayi who is the god ma brought her along for play at SBG during the sch hols) and Ian had a gd time with this big jie2....who never seemed too tired of playing kids' play frisbee with Ian who can barely toss the frisbee into the air.....but Ian is so game to try it with the jie2 and he learnt with all our instructions! He's pretty focused in learning things well and he doesn't seem to give up so easily hhmm

This is a little corner in SBG corner and we frequent it almost every Sun noon before going ah maa's pl coz the boy just love to feed the fishes....n of coz birds...never tired of it but he's getting more explorative! He's learning this game which we played so so long ago!

This little social being sure loves company and he can pretend play train ride with his dear toys...here's him at the end of the 'train' after lining his soft toys....last wk he went playground at po2's pl he actually wanted to make fren with this jie2 whom he din know....yaya he is a social being and this past wks he's been asking to go sch....wonder if its coz he saw the children having so much fun at the childcare under po2's block or he keep hearing seth gor2 going to sch....but each time mama says 'Ian goes to sch, mama cannot follow' then he will stop and say he wanna go po2's sch and mama will say 'Po2 cannot go as well' then he will forget abt it and go on his own play...still tossing whether we shld send him to sch coz we weren't keen initially since we are so aware of all the bad habits he will pick up at such age...yes yes...no matter what age he goes he's sure to pick them up but later exposure might be better?? hahaa so been giving lots of excuses like all schs are too far from our home for a lazy mama to bring him when it rains...lo and behold there is a new appletree opening just at the next block next yr....still thinking real hard whether we shld send him or wait till he's bigger that he will know what sch means and then no need all the teary cries at the initial wks??

well well for the time being, its a major milestone that Ian has come so far...he's been more inquisitive and been asking 'why?'...is it too early for kids to ask why?? hhhmm esp when mama's giving him some instructions and he will question 'why'? sigh....whenever in our younger days do we question so much! but having u at po2's pl helps to expose u to chinese....mama was quite surprised when Ian was calling 'mama, ni zai na li' last wk when he was out with daddy 1st since mama had to lock the door...was totally surprised with the phrase....coz he's always been speaking English coz daddy always forget to speak mandarin to him hehee....just delighted to see how our boy is growing!

We went to Central Fire Station today!

Read abt this on my friend's blog sometime ago so we been wanting to visit the fire station since it's open for visit every Sat and today we finally made it since weather looked gd!

We could finally take a look at the fire engines (Ian's been learning abt fire engine) and here we have the first hand learning of fire engines...we could explore freely the fire station

And here's the CPL which the fire fighters take to go higher floors...this according to the firefighter could take us to 14 storeys high...there's another one which could take to 18 storeys high...here we are checking out how high this is gonna be and...

here we are on the ride up....with harness of course (even for Ian) and we went up to abt 8-9 storeys high...gd view up there...frankly din think Ian would be game to take the ride but he was so thrilled all the way up and enjoying the view up there...after the whole visit, he just rem Uncle carried him hehee...coz he needed to be hooked on harness and we had to 'clumb' into the platform so he was carried for a while...maybe no need go anymore Sentosa's sky tower and come here queue for free rides hahaha equally gd view =)

And here we get to try out the real thing....it's super heavy but impressive coz there's 2 modes of spray depending on the fire...managed to capture a shot of Ian trying to peek from behind coz the thing is too heavy for him...except that there were alot of photographers at the site taking pics of pple doing stuff...wondering if there is some photography contest going on coz while I was doing the demo, there were some pple with cameras taking me hehehe....like some celebrity huh

Here's the bike that some firefighters take to check out the fire 1st?? there were some uniform and helmets behind and we were wondering if we could put them on hahaa but better not coz they shld be stinko since the fire is hot and they perspire hehee

there was also the ambulance for us to check out coz never been on 1 but was surprised by the sheer smallness of space inside it and daddy said could only take 1 coz he's been on 1 with a friend...din attempt to be pally with those pple to get on 1 coz there were so many 'tourists' and really wonder how they knew abt this open house coz even we singaporeans hardly hear of this fire station open house....

well well it was an eye opener for us...could come back again when Ian's bigger and could enjoy all the shows and visits better...here we are going off with souvenirs from fire station coz they have been here for a century...felt this was a gd souvenir for us to pry toys to change their batteries hahaa....handy handy! What an interesting visit we had today!

With Christ in the vessel....

We are truly blessed with a family who just loves Ian and can just entertain him while we take some breather...Ian spent some time with jiu2 and jiumu some time ago at po2's pl (wo mama and daddy) and when Ian returned home he started singing a song (which we din teach) which has cross and home as action....so we took some time to cfm with jiu2 that it was with Christ in the vessel....this boy caught the song quite fast and was repeating it whenever he could...last Sat we had the whole of the time at po2's pl with jiu2 and jiumu and mama managed to capture down in video...gd momento when Ian grows up to know that he does spend some 'Saturday Sch' as well hahaaa on top of the Sunday Sch he goes!
