Ian - the youngest NLB member??

Ever since we been told NLB has baby books (thanks to ah-ba and ah-mu), we been visiting lib every alt week to borrow books for Ian...and magazines for us to read on parenting...Ian has been most entertained by the colourful books...and we are always waiting at the lib's door on Sat (as they only open at 10am, see the pple standing at the glass door waiting for lib to open) and we look like the most 'kia-su' parents, pushing the pram wanting to borrow books for our son...won't he qualify as the youngest and most keen NLB member?? hahhaaa...he is getting better with each lib visit...at the initial, we even prepared a milk bottle to feed him in the lib should he cry for hunger =)

Does Ian look like a coffeeshop boy or is he going to school??

It is quite fun dressing Ian up at times...Mama rummaged thru the clothes and found these 2 suits. Doesn't the above resembles a 'kopi kia'? It can be quite hot so this is real cooling for Ian. And the below, doesn't it remind you of one those kindergarten uniform. :)

Hhmm so which looks a better outfit?? hehee it can be quite hilarious at times when we dress Ian up and imagine him to be someone...well its usually 'fashion parade' for daddy and mama since he has so many pass down clothes...many thanks to his cousins...so it is a privilege to be one of the younger cousins hahaa

Ian's different expressions...

Hey mama just had a crash course on photoshop and did a 'collage' of Ian's different expressions and poses (collections of pics of Ian's 13-15th wks). Not bad huh for an amateur...anyway also doing up nicer pics for grandparents' to display the pics and squeeze as many pics as possible on a photo for them to rem Ian's various expressions...

Week 15 - Ian learning to build up 'muscles'

This week, very interestingly we observe Ian trying to lift off his both arms and legs off the ground...hhmm think he is building up muscles either on his arms or thighs...or even abdominal so that he can start to crawl??? eeee....dun dare to think of the day he can crawl and we would be busy catching him picking up funny stuff off the ground...and also scared he might fall off bed (altho it's sure a well-known phenomenon) but this week Ian starts to be more observant and active and also more talkative hahaa...its his talking that wakes us up at 6am+ every morning...sigh wonder he would become a real talkative boy???

Ian caught a cold for the 1st time...

Ian caught a cold for the 1st time and had to bring him to see PD as he had phlegm in throat and nose. He seems real uncomfy with the phlegm when he is awake but seems fine when he is asleep. Hope he gets well real soon with the rest he is taking...

However, despite him being sick with the cough and snuffy nose, he is still very cheerie and active. He still likes to talk alot. This is something strange with babies...unlike adults, who would prefer to laze around and do nothing, Ian still enjoys his stretching and kicking. Also observed that the 2 places he enjoys the most is the parents' bedroom and his playroom. He will immediately put on a smile when he enters these 2 rooms...he seems to recognise his familiar surroundings...this is a pic caught him smiling to the ceiling of the bedroom..hhmm wonder why and he just dun wanna smile to the camera when wanna take pic of him...so can only take his side profile lah!

Tribute to World's BEST Daddy....

Since little Ian can't express his gratitude to daddy on Father's Day so mama shall do it on his behalf. We chance upon this hat in church and mama could not help it but to take a shot with daddy wearing it =)
Although KE has been daddy only for the past 3 mths, he has been such a great support....been thru delivery with mama and keep reminding mama to press on when times seem so difficult (esp in getting Ian latch on for feeding) And he has also bathed Ian umpteen times and changed diapers for the most times (as compared to other daddies) and he never fails to bia home to ma sheng for little Ian. Ian can't express his appreciation to his daddy dearest but I hope he will in time to come. Even on late nites when Ian fusses over dunno wat(and daddy has to work the next day), daddy has been most prompt in reassuring Ian that daddy is there for him....I am sure such assurance has been most needed security that Ian needs...and at the recent church camp, daddy has given mama a 'break' from Ian little fussing...he would be there patting Ian to sleep and giving the spiritually malnourished mama peace to sit thru the theme talks...kudos for daddy so that mama can meet God face to face during the camp and come back recharged to take care of Ian
On such a special day, mama cannot help but to pen down such thots so that Ian can better appreciate his dad when he grows up and like what we learnt in sermon in church today, I hope Ian can emulate after the daddy as the role model as the God-fearing man and also be patient (to Ian's and also mama's little fussing here and there =)
Thank you, daddy and Happy Father's Day!

And on our own, we had a mini father's day celebration at Alexandra village with all mama's fav food (hhmm thot it was father's day??) and Ian had his 1st visit to labrador park (look how comfy he is in his pram with his leg lifted up) and he took a nice sunset shot with daddy....

Ian's first overseas trip to Port Dickson and 1st church camp as well..

Ian turns 3 months old...

Ian turns 3 months old today and we had a little 'feast' at Sakae Sushi...but little Ian could not wait to go home...he was ooh-ing and coo-ing while mama and daddy were having lunch...this was a photo taken after much pacifying and when we were set to bring him home after a rush 30-min lunch

Day 88 - the 'eventful' day for Ian

Day 88 seems an 'auspicious' day but little did Ian realise what he was in for. He had a sweet sleep in the day after being out at GWC with his 2 aunties for lunch and shopping. And we made appt to have injectionS for him as doc was on hol the previous sat. So we got no. 1 queue no. for him. To ensure he does not cry before his jabs this time, mama made sure he was not hungry but who knows doc came late again and it was really close to his feed and mama was panicking...

Ian was checking out the clinic's surrounding as doc took his measurement. hhmm he weighs 7.5kg now and we were worried and asked doc if he was BIG for his age but doc says don't worry, he is tall for his age so they made us more assured that Ian wasn't too big...he has grown longer compared to his previous jab, now he measures 64cm.

Doc then gave him his 1st vacination which was for rotavirus...it was against severe diarrhoea and vomitting which was common among kids. This was taken orally...Ian was ok to suck but could not quite swallow v well as he is not used to drinking from syringe...but he took quite a gd bit only to drip a little from the last swallow...

Next the doc gave him his 2nd jab for his 6-in-1 vacination on his right thigh...he was easily distracted by mama on the other side and did not cry as everything happened too fast and with better vision, he was more easily distracted compared to his last jab.

There was alittle bleeding at the spot where the jab was given but doc says it was normal...now Ian, in mama's arms, was wondering what actually took place but he just hugged mama closely. At this time, he totally forgot he was due for feed...
When he was placed on the bed again for his 2nd jab....he looks as if he was anticipating something that was coming again and this time he knew it was gonna be pain again...

Mama again tried to distract him as he took his 2nd jab which was given on his left thigh for pneumococcal which was given to prevent infections caused by bacterium pneumococcus and this is common among children particularly those under 2 yrs of age. He looks really scared...dun you think so with his fist really tight...so you can imagine what happened after the jab...he cried and wailed as if we abandoned him....he cried so much that he grew so tired and fell asleep on mama's arms...he slept all the way till home and did not ask for feed at all..we wondered if he took the rotavirus oral med as part of his feed...well we did not want to disturb his sleep so we din wash him up when we reached home, only to change his diaper...however he woke up in middle of nite crying....and we are still wondering if the reality of the pain actually sets into him and made him cry in the nite..well we would never know this mystery =) but we know all these vacinations are for a gd cause...we want Ian to be a healthy boy...

Ian's changing look for the past 3 months...

Wk 12 - Ian sleeps in pram while mama shops!

This wk we have been practising putting Ian into pram and pushing him ard on the bumpy ground (the bumpier the better) till he's sleepy and doze off in his pram (either due to the pram motion or sucking of his own fingers). So that mama can shop in peace and both parents can have dinner in peace. This is a blissful sleep of Ian captured while mama takes a rest between shopping. This is really useful for us to have 'peaceful' meal times. But well there are times he would be awoken by surrounding sounds...we just need to keep doing it...no wonder Ian loves shopping as well hahaa look at his grin when mama says 'Shopping!' And we must keep doing this as we are preparing to go church camp next week!
