Day 383 - Ian has his first try of durian...

On a fine evening, while daddy and mama were savouring on the durian...our little Ian can't resist the new food and came asking for it...hhm he seems to love it...well guess he would be asking for more when he grows up...in this mth of Mar, mama been having lots of past confinement memories like eating liver, pig trotters', mian sian, red date drink and esp yummy durian...well it seems just yest mama had confinement and daddy was making mama red date tea every day ahhahah and with all the hot days...well just glad its only for a mth, its been a yr since mama stopped work...wonder if mama's mind also stopped working as 'hard' hahaa and forgot how to 'argue' with NSmen hehe...

Week 55 - Ian's picking things off the ground

This is a common scene at home when u see Ian picking things from the ground...since mama thot him to self-feed bread...he's been doing this and guess what he does next...he would be putting the 'things' into his mouth...hhm only the white stuff coz he might think that its bread...the other colored stuff he would 'throw' them aside...dunno whether this is called smart or wat...hhmm shld we teach him to self feed? Told him not to put into mouth but guess it makes him confused what he can feed and what he cant...anyway just gotta watch esp when he's munching away coming to look for us...there's bound to be something in his mouth...and he doesn't quite like us to pry his mouth hhmm

Ian's not listening...hhmm

This week, we see Ian standing on his high chair most of the times...wonder if its coz there is a mirror at the dining table and he's just being vain, wanna check himself out during meal times...well mama has told him umpteen times not to stand on chair but he's not listening, asked him to sit and he's sitting on the chair's table sigh...daddy said it too...po2 also repeated....and he's still doing it at ah mu's place...sigh guess till he falls he would learn...nope, guess even if he falls he won't learn...guess its just so so human to ignore advices and till we fall...ouch...but still we dun listen till we get a hard hard fall, isn't it?

Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Easter everyone....here's an red egg received from church reminding us of the newbirth - newness of life since Christ has resurrected, well sitting on the pew today reminds us of a yr ago when Ian went for infant baptism....that's when his life was dedicated to the Lord...as we recall a yr ago when Ian was hospitalised for jaundice...guess that's when we learnt to treasure him more and all the more reminding us that he is being treasured by God, more than his earthly parents and its our prayer that this boy will get to know this Lord and praying that we can help him to lead to the salvation...well Ian, remember the Lord of your salvation!

An eventful GOOD FRIDAY

Last Gd Fri was the shower party for Ian...it has been a meaningful day for mama coz it also means an end to all the 'agony' hehehe so thot it was gd to spend an eventful day as a family...we attended the Gd Fri svc together as a family for the 1st time with Ian sitting throughout the svc in sanctuary....well he was 'entertained' by anything that could be found in mama's bag and of coz had his part 2 of breakfast coz we had a rush bf so fed him biscuit to mama could sit thru the sermon...well we succeeded coz it was not so crowded at mezzanine floor.

After our lunch at The Central, we had visitationsss to make...seemed pretty much like CNY hehee...but well Ian had his naps in the car seat and went to Uncle Royston's place (daddy's colleague) and had a gd gathering there of coz with yummy food....Ian had to eat as well but gd we prep his papaya. He was tense at the beginning but after some warm up, he was actually playing peekaboo with the auntie...here's a shot of the couple trying to carry Ian...seems like he prefers ladies hehee...

Thereafter we made our way to mama's ex-staff's place for BBQ. It was the 1st BBQ party for Ian and he was most attentive looking at the smoke in the air....and was sitting right in front of the party table only to be fed with endless flow of baguette (coz it was to go with the curry)

It was a gd time for mama to catch up with the ex-colleagues and alot of memories went pass mama's mind...hhmm kindof fond memories for the years of work....it was a real nice catch up with the ex-colleagues and even ex-boss. Guess pple come and go in the dept so much that things are just diff at the working place...mama hopes to visit some day the office with Ian...just wondering how...coz must change pass and go thru scan...hhmm we shall see...just thank God for the Gd Fri even as we meditate on his suffering for us all on the cross....till we see His glory in the cross

Day 378 - Ian's 1st visit to THE CENTRAL

We have often passed by THE CENTRAL and kept saying to check out this so called hip place some day...and we finally made it on the Gd Fri PH...well its indeed a happening place...they had some kind of arty walkway downstairs...every inch of the building looks unique...even the car park was wow...hahaa u will know it only if u go there...coz there's some odd lot at some corner...well we had a gd lunch there and sure to go back and try their many Jap restaurants...just wonder which is a gd choice so there are just so so many Jap restaurants which make us wonder if there is alot of Jap pple ard that area...anyway mama couldn't find the pastry shop which was featured on tv...some long time ago =p

Hello, r you on a walker??

This playgym 'deposited' at our place has proved to attract Ian thru the ages...when he was a baby just lying on the sofa, mama used to turn on the music for Ian to be 'entertained' while waiting for daddy to be back...soon he was able to turn on tummy and enjoyed looking into the mirror and listening to music and then soon he was sitting upright and learning to pull the butterflies...this week we see Ian using it as a walker...hhmm walking real slowly with his tiny steps on the ground...well well let's see if it helps Ian to walk soon

Happy birthday to Popo

It's Po2's bday and to give her a break from usual busy cooking for the family on Sat, we had our dinner at our family's fav hokkien restaurant Beng Hiang and guess we all loved the bday music when it was played in the restaurant coz we hardly see such loud bday music these days...we all loved the food yummy...till Ian can appreciate the food when he's older...for this occasion, wish Ian could say Happy Bday, Po2 coz she has been someone who is most keen to carry Ian and speak Mandarin/Hokkien to. Thanks for all the efforts in making sure we all eat home cooked food every week...

Ian's new 'playground'

Ian's never quite liked his playpen eversince we lowered it since he can stand inside it and its not safe with him in there...so when we lowered it, he din quite like being in there guess coz it feels like a 'cage' so this week mama decided to unzip 1 end of the playpen so he could crawl in and out freely...well he checked out the playpen for some days and din want to crawl in...perhaps for the fear that he would be 'caged' up once he's in there....so after some days of observation, he decided to give it a go and 1st caught mama a surprise when he crawled in quietly and started calling for mama when he's standing in there...hhhmm guess he must be saying he did it....and here's a check on him making sure he's making a safe exit out and there he is really careful with his body and head...guess he's thrilled by this new playarea where there are so many toys in there...Ian, keep on exploring =)

Day 371 - Ian and his cheese on bread story...

Mama has always wanted to make a habit for Ian to cultivate a full breakfast so this week mama introduced cheese on bread for Ian and he loves it...guess he loves food esp bread...so he was super dramatic on a fine breakfast morning and mama captured alot of shots of his dramatic moments on the breakfast table and thus decided to make a story hehee..read on how this boy really loves his MEAL TIMEs...guess its his happiest time of the day! well he's also learning to self feed...and he did!

An unusual Tue noon...

The past Tue was an unusual noon for Ian and mama as daddy has a 'call-back' by his unit to SAFRA Yishun for some team building so mama and Ian tagged along and had a whale of time at po2's place since it was really near where daddy was going....so Ian had all the time with the toys at po2's place and for once he din have to share with Joy or Seth hehee...he had all the attention by po2 and enjoyed 'roaming' ard the house...he napped on dayi's mattress hhmm but not for long..guess he's not used to the unfamiliar place...but he had a gd time out of home...a rare chance to come by coz daddy dun get call back so often these days...anyway this boy enjoyed this blue chair which he sat on for a gd time...wonder issit coz he's comfy or coz its blue...well gd to be out of home and out of the norm...

Ian's 1st bday presents...

Thanks for all the gifts, blessings and ang baos....guess Ian is too young to thank you all but here's some captions of the gifts he received for his 1st bday and wanted to note them down so that he would grow up remembering who these gifts are from and be appreciative for these toys...so thanks again on behalf of the boy who just turned 1 yr old =)

Ian meets his neighbour...

Our Indian neighbour's daughter has always been fascinated by Ian since very long ago but she would call Ian 'baboon' (sounds like) guess it means baby in her hindi language?? So imagine her 'baboon-ing' each time we pass by her place....hhmm Ian has always been oblivious to her babooning till lately he's kindof paying attention to her more...issit coz she shaved her hair lately?? hhmm no lah coz she kindof screams BYE real loudly each time we close the door...Ian must be wondering who is she and anyway Ian has been most fascinated by almost all kids...hhmm wonder if they would grow up playing with each other since they are only 1 yr apart whereas her elder sis seems to be much of a few yr gap....we'll see...

Ian turns 1 TODAY!!

Blessed Birthday, Ian!!! In your little world of unknown what it means to have birthday, it means a whole world to mama and daddy coz we have seen you thru this past yr...how u have grown from a newborn baby and now going into toddlerhood...praying that you would grow up to be what God has called you to be and we too would be guided to parent you into a boy after God's heart..

On this special day, here are some memories of the celebration we had for you...with all the wishes and blessings from the family...we are just glad to share the 2 days with our extended families...on Sat nite, it was a yammy cake from Jiu2 and Aunt Lorraine...and gathered at Po2 & Gong2's place and po2 specially gotten chicken drumstick for Ian...well played the traditional game of putting drumstick, calculator, bible and credit card to see what would Ian go for...he went for credit card but thereafter he put it aside and crawl to mama...smart move coz it was the lightest to move the obstacle before going to mama.

On the special bday which coincided with daddy's coy family day at Sentosa...we 3 all had a gd sun tan coz the sun was pretty hot with all the activities going on...wish Ian could be bigger so he could enjoy the activities more like bungee trampoline and some stall games...so end up he had pop corn and candy floss (look only!) with mama and daddy by the beach and went on an interesting port tour to know daddy's workplace better...met alot of daddy's colleagues and they all said Ian looked cute hhaa...wait till u hear me roar!!

Well we were early at Ah Gong & Ah Maa's place and Ah maa prepared mian sian for Ian's bday and even got a drumstick for him...guess old folks think drumstick is the best for bday boy huh...let's see if Ian really loves drumstick eventually hehee...and mama and daddy got him a baby ernie cake (hhmm we thot the baby ernie looks abit like Ian...with the blue t-shirt except that Ian is not often seen with the milk bottle) and mama has been calling him Ian-ie so it rhymes hehe...nice cake (as all kids said so) but Ian din get to eat any hhmm wait till u r bigger...well it was certainly a lovely and blessed wkend for Ian who doesn't know why all attention is on him...thanks for all your gifts, msgs and even sms to wish this boy a blessed bday...we are sure he is blessed enough with so many of you thinking of him on this special day....he must be snoozing now with all these sweet memories! Let's continue to see him grow in his toddlerhood surrounded by much warm love...

Day 364 - Down memory lane....to a yr ago...

Well Plaza Sing has always been a place of significance to mama and on such a bright and sunny day, Mama decided to bring Ian to this mall to reminisce memories of last yr...after all it was the LAST time mama had a leisure shopping time by herself before delivering Ian...so here we are taking the free shuttle to PS and Ian has been most attentive on the bus...we have taken this bus a few times (with Ah Mu and Joy) and its interesting to see how Ian has grown from a baby who was sleeping on mama's arms to a baby who was carried over mama's shoulder to a toddler of today who can sit on his own...these are his development milestones as well...anyway daddy asked if mama did bore Ian with the stories that took place a yr ago...hahaa guess Ian was talking his own story....well we had a gd time shopping and Ian caught a lot of pple's attention...
Guess having Ian in mama's tummy din feel as heavy as having Ian on mama's arms hahaa...so mama stopped by for Ian to figure out these mobiles while mama took a rest for her arms..guess mama missed the leisure walk she had last yr coz she was anticipating for contraction when she had show...hahaha it has been a meaningful day to mark the 'sign' of Ian's arrival...guess today is a special day coz on this day last yr mama could hardly sleep coz of the anticipation of contraction...its a night of signficance too =) how time flies...

Wk 51 - Ian loves to play peekaboo with mama

On days when waiting gets a little long for daddy to be home (hint2!) and Ian gets bored with his toys...he comes up with new 'games' with mama...these days he would crawl behind the sofa and tries to look out for mama...once caught the attention, he would hide again and 'jump' up again to see mama...guess he's really thrilled by the 'game'...see here's a shot of him 'exposing' his 2 little front teeth and he can even show u the sign 2 hahaa...Ian, do continue to come up with such 'games' to pass time rather than whining ok??

Wk 50 - Ian learns to stack his stacko rings...

After months of fun time taking out the stacko rings and even biting the doughnut rings, Ian has finally learnt the trick of putting the rings back...its quite interesting to see how he diligently puts each back....well tho he's v tempted to put his blue ring 1st but that's not the right sequence...well he's getting better at stacking the rings and he enjoys them more....
well here's shot of him trying to put the blue ring thru his bottle...quite innovative coz he understands the theory of looping the rings hahaa he even attempted once to loop on his toes haha...quite an experience to see Ian growing up and knowing things hhmmm guess he's into toddlerhood huh

Ian's visit to the Singapore Flyer on the opening day

On a usual Sat family time, it was a gloomy and rainy day and daddy suggested checking out the Singapore Flyer...we finally got to the place coz the road was a little complicated...hhmm guess it was a bad day to take the Flyer since the sky looks misty....anyway we gather its not worth going up yet coz Ian won't be able to appreciate the view as yet....besides mama thinks that evening is the best time esp to catch the sunset
So we just took pics from afar and also check out the F&B there...hhmm surprisingly there is a build a bear workshop outlet opened there...guess the salesgirl thinks we got a kid so rushed out of the store (even tho the store was not opened as yet) to give mama a pamplet that their mascot bear was coming at 11am...hhmm another 2 hrs wait and so we din stay for it..moreover Ian won't appreciate it yet hehee...but for Popeyes's chicken and biscuit lovers...there is an outlet there (Auntie Denise, you can check it out there!) Other than that, mama would be keen to go back for the Fish Spa...u know the fishes to nibble ur feet to get the spa feeling =) guess The Singapore Flyer can't quite compare to the London eye hehee but the Flyer capsule is available for private function so it sounds cool to have a bday party inside the capsule hehe...

A pleasant visit on Mon nite...

On a usual Mon nite waiting for daddy's return from work, we had a surprisingly pleasant visit from Mama's ex-colleagues. As Auntie SF is changing job to somewhere far from this TB area, so it was nice of her to come by to drop by visit Ian and mama....well thanks for the visit and we do hope you have a gd adjustment to your new workplace and in the meantime have a safe trip to Japan...hhmm enjoy huh =) sure hope to meet u up again
And all time fav Auntie Carol came along....hhmm the usual camera shy Auntie actually din mind taking pic with Ian hehee...here's a nice shot with Ian coz she has been lamenting that she has not taken a pic with Ian before...well she seems happy in the pic, dun she?? hheee anyway nice of both aunties to come by with pizzas from Rocky Master...a new cafe which opened at mama's ex-workplace and they wanted to share it with mama...hhmm Ian was most attracted by the pizzas...in future maybe...but he was definitely most thrilled by the 2 aunties' visit...at least some new face besides mama hehee...that evening wait for daddy passed SO SO fast =)

Trying to catch a glimpse of The Airshow...

Last Sun, we decided to head towards the Airshow after mama's gym....so we hurried to changi beach area but saw so so so SO SO many cars along the whole driveway...well we din get a gd spot to see the flypass but the gd thing abt the jam was we managed to catch gd view of some planes flying pass in the car...hhmm guess Ian can't quite see the planes up in the sky...guess we can consider getting tics the next airshow when Ian can see things further and can enjoy it more...at the time being, he loves the comfort of his car seat with his baby biscuit =)

In a way we are glad we weren't too early to see the flypass as the cars were in mad mad jam that it would prob take them hrs to get out of the crowded place...coz we attempted to have lunch at changi village but it was so packed...anyway we decided to head towards the revamped Big Splash...here's Ian at the Sushi Tei and we could enjoy the real nice view out to the east coast...and have our jap lunch in luxury =) well nice nice place for our lunch in the HOT day!
