Ian sends ah maa and ah gong for their 'honeymoon'

The day after we returned from church camp, we got up early to send ah maa and ah gong off for their honeymoon to the States...quite a long anticipated trip coz ah gong hardly will agree to any trip but agreed to this coz ah maa is keen to go...well this is their honeymoon (after 40 yrs of marriage) coz in the past it was not quite a norm for couples to go honeymoon hehee...well mama is reminded of the honeymoon to the States which was almost the package which ah maa and ah gong are going for...time flies, it has been 3 yrs and now we got a little one...guess it's harder for us to even consider such long flight...hhmm it sure seems tempting to tag along for the trip but back to reality we gotta make sure Ian's fine with the plane before considering such long flight...hope ah maa and ah gong enjoy their honeymoon...there's Ian cranky in his pram...wondering if he's asking ah maa to bring him along hahaha

Ian's 1st FAMILY church camp

Though Ian attended his 1st church camp last yr, this is his 1st FAMILY church camp ie with the extended family which included the chinese and hokkien svc so this yr po2 and ah gong also came along the trip. Since the camp started on Sun so we decided to make a short family trip on the sat before the camp. Though it was short, it was super enjoyable coz we had extended extended family time.

Best of all thru the trip was Ian was fine with po2 so daddy and mama had quite abit of couple time....when we checked into Puri hotel Ian was still down with slight fever so po2 volunteered to look after Ian while mama and daddy checked out the fav chendol stall down the jonker street=) so we managed to have a few rounds of the dessert and also more melaka cuisine

and we moved on to Holiday Inn hotel (where the church camp was held) as it was a pretty new hotel, we were fascinated by the clean and high class room (they had LCD tvs in every room) hhmm and we had connecting room with ah gong and po2...which means they could baby sit Ian again hahaa so mama and daddy went 'dating' at mahkota...was sure a gd time coz dun need to carry Ian ard...but best of all, we had gd time 'feasting' on God's word by Bishop during the sermons and program as well...

quite alot of aunties and even pastor were eager to 'befriend' Ian in order to carry him...well some succeeded while others had tough time....Ian was super friendly at moments while grouchy at other times...well mama managed to capture some shots of those who succeeded but must say the die hard fan was Uncle Kenneth, guess we had the extended trip with him and he was hoping Ian would get used to him since Ian saw him pretty often...hhmm tough luck...try harder, Kenneth...it was also a gd time bonding with daddy coz its always thru such holidaying time that Ian gets to see alot of daddy and Ian must be asking when's the next hols....and mama too =)

Wk 63 - Ian came down with fever for the 1st time

Just 2 days before the church camp, Ian suddenly came down with a fever....wonder how he caught the virus since he din go out...tho Ian has gotten cold a few times but has never been administered the medicine coz he doesn't like it and also we felt he could fight the antibodies within himself (also affirmed by his PD) so he always recovered on his own for his cold and cough...this time with fever, we got a little worried...thermometer was always ard to make sure it doesn't shoot too high...every 6 hrly medicine brings temp down but it would come back once 6 hrs is coming to an end...so had to fight with him to take the strawberry flavored med...

hhmm to shade from the hot weather, dayi put on this pair of sunglasses just before setting off for the melaka trip...heheee doesn't he look cute...well just glad he recovered during the trip so we could enjoy more fun and also for Ian's appetite to return...coz from a foodie boy he became quite picky of the food that was presented in front of him....mama became so appreciative of Ian being a food lover in the past coz it was so so much easier to feed him...well his appetite is slowly but surely coming back=) some say he was down with fever coz of teething...who knows but just thank God for bringing us thru this fever ordeal...nothing beats the boy feeling healthy again =)

Wk 63 - Ian misses church for the 1st time

well for the 1st time, the whole family missed church service (except for the confinement month when mama stayed home with Ian and those weeks when we were out of town) coz daddy has this philosophy not to miss church for no reason otherwise it makes it a habit...so mama was surprised when daddy made such a decision...its coz Ian has some blister like sore on his right hand's fingers...so so we were a little worried its HFMD...altho we were sure it could not be coz Ian is home most of the time and we din come in contact with anyone down with that...we could not give any chances....so we took time off from church and went to see Dr Phang...here's a pic of daddy carrying Ian while waiting for our turn...din even dare let Ian crawl on the blue chair...trying to be responsible hehee..anw glad to hear from doc that it's prob not coz it shld appear on both hands, feet and mouth but Ian only had it on his fingers...so its most prob bug bite which he has been getting quite abit lately...so we just gotta monitor for 2 days and if nothing is wrong, he is ok....well a day's over and we just hope the bite will go off after applying the cream prescribed by doc so we can go out and play in peace....and also go church camp with a peace of mind =) well but it was a gd Sun to have more family time tho Ian woke up super super early...hhmm he might think he was going church perhaps....

The kids learning some 'tricks'???

On a usual Sat dinner over at Yishun, the kids were 'gathered' in jiu2's room to learn some tricks...no no it is not some vice that the kids are picking up....tho we heard Seth shouting 'I win, I WIN!!!' but they were just learning to put the coins into the rice piggy bowl (a rice bowl look alike as a piggy bank) and guess Seth put the most coins so he was shouting that...otherwise the rest of us in the living room might think otherwise what the kids are picking up from jiu2 and Auntie Lorraine hehee...guess it is gd for the kids to play and learn to count at the same time...just glad we could all gather for family dinner weekly

Take a picture of us...PLS!!!

Well this was a special request from seth gor2 on a warm Fri when mama dropped by their home on a hot Fri noon....seth was really showering his gor2's warmth to ian...look at how he hugged Ian..well that noon he was taught by both mummies how to hug the 2 little ones gently and he seemed to do really well....just enjoy such happy moments when the 3 little ones enjoy the play and wish it could be happy play for a long long time...no one pushing anyone, no one slapping on another's face and no one shouting at another...just a wish wish wish hehee...will see how they grow up being real close cousins...not only in relation but also in proximity huh =)

It's been a year...

since Ian's blog been started....guess its a privilege of SHM to capture the 1sts of Ian's life and also candid stories that took place in his ordinary daily life...some say mama's a blogger...some say mama really took alot of effort to do up the blog and some say Ian's cute...guess its always mama's wish if only she had a blog to look thru on her life...afterall we live this life only once so why not capture those moments that God has blessed us with so that when Ian's older, he would learn to give thanks as he recapture these moments...well mama had an enjoyable yr thinking of what to blog of the growing up days of this boy each week =)

Happy Mama's Day!

It's Mama's day and had a few rounds of celeb...guess Ian still dunno what it means to celeb Mother's Day but came a pleasant surprise that daddy made mama a card on behalf of Ian...hhmm just made Mama reflect on the journey of motherhood thus far...has never been easy but there are ups and downs thru the journey and on such a day just wanna thank God for this process and opportunity to go thru it...guess many more yrs ahead and pressing on with His strength and guidance that indeed mama can live out a life to examplify that life of Christ and keep praying for Ian's salvation

Ian visits the Central Lib for the first time...

Coz daddy has some old car stuff to settle so mama brought Ian to the Central lib while daddy settle the stuff and we discovered the Children's collection is really gd at the central lib...there were volumes of books for Ian to flip ard and there were real nice chairs all ard for kids to sit and read...here's a shot of Ian trying to read his book...well trying huh...and there were also alot of chinese books so mama decided to borrow 1 for Ian to start reading =)
well here's a distracted Ian by the fascinating tables and chairs...guess it is quite an ideal place to bring kids who love to read to this lib...coz mama saw alot of parents bringing the kids and reading to them in this lib...they got nice wall paper which made the whole ambience cosy...hhmm will do so when Ian's older...but guess kids dun quite know how to talk softly coz alot of parents were trying to ssshh to their kids hehee...guess the whole place is for kids so who cares =) Ian was talking in there too hehee coz it was quiet...he wanted to make some noise =p

Ian is 14 mths old and...

he gets a last ride in the red jazz....yes, daddy got a new car on the day he turned 14 mths old..how timely to rem the date we got the car...well kindof lots of memories in the red jazz coz it seen daddy and mama thru diff phases in life (courtship, marriage and even having a kid) so took some shots with the red jazz...yet to take with the new car...tho its also jazz, sure feels and smells gd to be in a new car with leather seats =) Ian was actually napping in old jazz and waking up seeing himself in a new jazz...hhmm he must have thot he was dreaming for a while coz the color changed tho its the same car model...well this new jazz shld see us thru for some gd yrs ahead =)

I am a Gain IQ kid...

Ian's been taking Gain IQ for his last feed since he turned 1 and guess daddy and mama are feeling the $$ of giving him formula coz he's always been on BF so it comes cheap and healthy...but to make him fuller and to gain more nutrients so last feed has been changed to Gain IQ. This boy is taking in well and so we look out for any special deals for this brand of milk whenever we can....see how he is hugging his milk tin...well he has not seen his milk in tin...it always comes in bottles =) wonder when he can join mama to drink fresh milk instead =)

Ian and his 1st 'speech'

On Sun, we had our 1st round of Mothers Day celeb at Dragongate. Dunno if its coz of too much food Ian has taken, after the dinner he decided to stand on his high chair and started rattling on quite loudly and pointing here and there. So gu2 HL said that Ian looked like he's doing a presentation coz he was talking quite forceful maybe trying to say his vision or trying to hard sell something?? Anyway doing his little 'speech', we saw his 3rd tooth sprouting out hahaa...never expected we could see something more than the norm....well guess his other teeth shld be out after so so many months hmm

Wk 60 - Ian learns to recognise some words

These past weeks we see Ian is starting to recognise some words....the most obvious one is 'mum-mum' which means eating...coz when he's busy crawling all over the hse..sometimes its quite hard to chase him as he thinks we are playing chasing game with him...so mama shouts 'mum-mum' and he would immediately crawl back looking for food...hhmm here's a pic with his daily bread and trying to say mum-mum (hahaha 1 slice of gardenia bread per day) planning to get a bread maker soon since Ian's into bread munching....for the time being, wanna teach him more words...mama and mum-mum seems confusing to him hhmm

Ian celebrates May Day

For this May Day, Ian went Sakura buffet with daddy and mama and this boy sure knows how to feast...he had his porridge and we ordered sliced fish shop for him, had lots of fruits and lots more of nibbles....well see his 'high' on food look...playing with the mango pudding cover...hhmm just abt 1 yr ago we also went Sakura buffet and he was snoozing real soundly in the infant car seat so mama could whack some of the food that was dearly missed during confinement hehe so much have changed in this 1 yr...now Ian is such a foodie person so kindof wary of buffets coz it means buffet for the little one as well =)
