Meeting up with daddy's friends

It has been some months since we met up with daddy's crusade friends as the last few times were over weddings...guess now the couples all need to settle down...had a gd time at Aglio Olio as it was super quiet on a normal Sat noon...so we stayed there and chat..Ian met up with his peer, Jiayong who is abt 2 mths older than Ian...well he did try to befriend Ian but this dao Ian din stretch out his hand to the little gor2 but rather this vain Ian was checking his face with a mirror wall where we were sitting...they din have high chair so Ian was walking along the mirror wall with all his fingers prints on it arrgghh glad we left wo much complaints from the staff there...well the uncles (daddy's friends) were tempting Ian with all the calamari, fried ebi, fried chic wings...but of coz Ian din take them coz he still yet to know what is FRIED...hahaa well he was contented with his bland porridge and tasteless cheerios (according to the auntie friend there) ...we shall meet up again...guess more playdates coming up for Ian with his peers soon

Yeah we are on magazine cover!

Yah its been mama's wish to appear on mag cover...ever thot of sending Ian's pic to see if ever he gets chosen but its not so much for pple to know us but to keep it as memory hehee...so we managed to do it...coz someone chanced upon our blog and loved the pic...

Nah hehee Auntie Lydia shared sth on her blog so mama decided to try...looks cool rite?? at least we got on cover once hahaa

Ian went 'camping' again

Ya on wed when po2 came as usual to visit us...she said ah gong requested to bring Ian back to Yishun home coz ah gong off on Thur...it came quite a sudden but guess a nite was fine...Ian just woke up from nap so was still goggy and wanted to po2 to carry but po2 interpreted it as Ian can't wait to go..well well so off they went and po2 took bus with little Ian...at the moment when Ian waved bye to mama, just felt a sense of 'lostness', ya mama disliked those moments when Ian is uncooperative and whiny and clingy but that noon and nite mama felt real weird wo Ian clinging onto mama....well so ironical of humans...never quite appreciate what u have and once its gone then u miss it...sigh anyway hope each 'camp' Ian goes mama will learn to appreciate his presence more. Well at least for a day mama felt like a tai2 again...wo worries of cooking Ian meals, making him nap and could go for gym and leisure lunch...hahaa just appreciate Ian could go po2's house and stay over once in a while....well guess this boy loves taking bus since he is deprived of it...so according to po2, he was checking the pple and surrounding out...but soon succumbed to motion and went to zzland coz he slept both the journey to and fro from home...just wonder if ever this boy misses home when he's away...we wonder what this little mind is thinking

Ian attends 2 bday parties on a Sunday

Yup both bday parties coincided on the same Sun and both kids were celebrating their 1st bday, the 1st party we went was for Jayla....tried real hard to capture both the kids in the same pic but din quite made it...so here's both the kids crawling all over the floor checking out the balloons...hhmm balloon weight I mean...well quite cool helium balloon with thomas the train was given to Ian...wonder if he knows how to appreciate the balloon but its his fav blue

This foodie boy was eyeing on gu2's food the whole noon...keep going to gu2 HL to ask for mum-mum hhmm he knows who to attack huh...so he was real contented to find a spot between gu2 HL and daddy to enjoy his sweet papaya...well he had his 'buffet' at the lunch party as well...also wanna wish Jayla happy 1st bday...both kids are the same age...wonder when they would start real play together...the bigger kids were running all over the room but quite dangerously I must say...can't imagine the room with these little ones running ard eventually

Then after the 1st bday party, we made our way to po2's place since it was nearby...for Ian to take his beauty nap to go for the 2nd party...the 2nd party was in the north as well...so here's Ian checking his little junior Javier at his bday party...how time flies...the pic mama took with Auntie Lydia with the 2 kids last yr was so so different...both boys have grown up and hope they have some fun play the next time we meet up again

Here's Ian with his pooh party hat....interestingly the 1st party we attended was with Mickey theme (ie mickey band, blower and balloon) and the 2nd party was with Pooh's theme (ie party hat, blower and balloon) guess its the parents preference for the character theme huh...so we came home with many party sets and 2 helium balloon =) and it was not easy coz they were floating in the car and wonder if it blocked daddy's blind spots...kids' eyes were on the balloons as we walked home and shared lift with a little gal...well well Happy bday to Javier...

The other thing that caught us by surprise was...as u all know Ian isn't one who is friendly to anyone at any occasion...but upon arrival of the 2nd party...he was showing his want for Auntie Lydia to carry him...and it was not only once...it was 3 times hehehe and Javier was super jealous each time he saw it...hhmm we were all puzzled why he's so pal-ly with Auntie Lydia tho we dun meet often...hhmm we know Ian has his preference for women but just wonder why...we thot perhaps Auntie Lydia resembles someone from our family coz he only is pal-ly with family memebers....the noon time he din quite let ah maa and yi-ma carry him but he was ok with gu2...so we concluded that Ian is ok with YOUNG women hahaa...sounds strange but shall experiment more hehehe...just an observation to find out what's really going on in the little mind of Ian...well and it has been a super tiring but happy Sun to celebrate both bdays of the kids same age as Ian...mama just cant help but to wonder what is the age when a kid really understands what it means to celebrate bday...till then....

Ian is getting real responsive in speech and action

Today went to church and quite a few pple asked why we din go Cheyanne's wedding yest...main reason was coz daddy was in church helping Uncle FM to do some recording...other reason was coz mama been to the fort canning before for some coy's event and it was a super warm and no place for Ian's crawling place so told daddy to give it a miss. Guess we made the right choice coz daddy's 'help' ended quite late, we were sure to be late and some agreed with us it was not a place for toddlers like Ian esp it was hot. But mama was glad we din go coz we were amazed at how responsive Ian was when playing with Joshua gor2 (the boy behind in the pic) and later on with Uncle FM. Ian has been picking up little bits of speech here and there...and mama was thoroughly surprised by a short conversation Uncle FM had with Ian....with every question posed, Ian was responding...Joshua gor2 could discepher what Ian was saying...somewhat Yup, huh and oh...sounded absolutely right to what Uncle FM was asking...well at this moment mama then realised Ian might be really responding with his little speeches already...and when Uncle FM wanted to give him a handshake at the end, Ian literally stretched out his little hand to shake with him...what great discovery on what mama thot was a seemingly boring Sat evening..hehee guess this boy is really growing up and guess soon he would be more responsive =)

Ian's 1st visit to Dayi's hostel

On an unusual Sat, the Chng family had an outing to SBG and then the old folks and dayi came by our place since they have sth on in the afternoon...so we fetched dayi back to the hostel after a while and here's Ian checking out the place coz it's his 1st time there...but he was playing with the phone and fan remote control while his short stay there...guess we will drop by again someday so he can even check out the bed and even fridge hehee...dayi, rem to reconfigure ur room to make it more friendly for this little active boy to come by huh =) WE WILL BE BACK!

Visit to Seth's and Joy's new home

On the day of ah mu and ah baa's shift to new home, we dropped by to pay them a visit and saw Joy super excited crawling ard the new home showing things to Ian....guess they just can't talk yet if not perhaps they would go non-stop being excited abt the new surroundings and things. Ian just woke up from his nap and immediately got on the floor and started wandering ard checking out the place...guess it's a new home he's visiting so he's just excited...see how both the kids were checking out the nice view on the bay by the window...Joy was even gestling Ian to come by beside her to take a nice pic of them hehee....guess we would be dropping more frequent since it's much easier to push pram compared to their new home...so guess the kids would have a whale of the time there huh...just pray for the whole family as they settle in the new place and the kids in their new room and bed...we are sure the kids would be able to sleep on their own in due time...ah mu, just press on yah!

Ian's little writing corner...

Thanks to ah mu and ah baa who recently shifted home and found a spare brand new kid's table and chairs so pass on to us. After fixing them up, Ian was quite interested to sit on the new writing corner and wanted to doodle with color pencils...but was for a little while coz he prefers collecting many color pencils and play with them but not to write on the paper...well guess a little while more before this boy can appreciate drawing and writing I guess...but he enjoys swinging his feet which is off the ground...hhmm its a corner for him to sit still and not crawl ard too much =)

Happy Father's Day

Happy Daddy's Day! Guess Ian can't comprehend yet but he sure enjoys the time with daddy...however daddy always has other 'calling' that full attention can't be given to Ian all the time...we understand....but we hope daddy will learn to say NO when the duty calls to forgo family time...Ian needs daddy's bonding at such tender age esp a daddy's figure coz he can't be sticking with mummy all the time hhmm just some requests on a father's day like this...

Ian's 1st visit to Popeye's chicken & biscuit

Say cheese, u r at Popeye's chicken...we been wanting to visit this restaurant as we rem we visited this restaurant before but it was at San Franscisco when we were on honeymoon to the States...at that time we rem we enjoyed the chicken and the biscuit was interesting coz it looked like scone and could eat with jam....so decided to make a pt to visit it since we missed it last Sun when we were at the airport...well we finished the chicken just in time before Ian woke up from his nap...he was fascinated by the place esp the tv showing the popeye's cartoon...hhmm the chicken tasted gd but guess the one we took at San Frans tasted better somehow...guess coz we were in hols mood then hahaa see when we could go there again perhaps with Ian munching the chicken as we wonder how far we could go before introducing Ian fast food hhmm

Wk 66 - Ian learns to sip with straw

Mama has spoilt Ian with giving him straws to chew whenever we visit restaurant so we always wanna whether Ian ever know how to suck water with straw...so on a fine Sat, we were just trying to get Ian to suck with straw...he started biting 1st but after realising there's water in the cup...he tried to suck but din quite make it at Macs...when we moved on to hawker centre again with soya bean milk, he managed to suck and was enjoying the sweet drink till we stopped him after a few attempted short sips...guess we could move him onto sippy cup but with pure healthy water =) it's gd to stick with water huh

Ian is away from home for 2 days and 2 nites

Whenever po2 visits our home on wed...she 'promises' to bring Ian to Yishun home and it came true tho she had wanted 3D3N coz jiu2 came by our place so po2 could bring Ian back in the car and we could drop by Yishun on Sat to pick Ian up again...but once Ian stepped out of home on the very nite, both mama and daddy felt weird wo the little one bugging us...so daddy made a request to shorten the stay and bring Ian back on Fri instead of Sat. Guess we both din quite zzz well coz keep waking up to check on Ian...it's been more of a habit

It was gd time spent at po2's home coz mama could have some time to herself to do stuff she's been wanting to ie go gym for combat class, do cleaning the hse as she's always wanted and also to visit the salon. So it was busy time cleaning and packing the hse well Ian had gd time playing with po2, ah gong, Auntie Lorraine and Jiu2...he had the attention of so many folks and surrounded with many new toys...no wonder he was so entertained at po2's home..guess Ian has grown more attached to po2 with this stay but hope he's not spoilt by the old folks...will see when we could deposit Ian there again so we could have some couple time and also for Ian to gain some exposure like 'excursion' to the wet market with po2 =)

Guess not only we missed Ian...he also missed us...he was giggling quite loudly when he 1st saw daddy (coz mama was hiding to see his reaction) and guess he was real thrilled to see us on Fri nite...and mama caught this super wide smile shot of Ian....so wide we couldn't even see his eyes...but his teeth are super obvious hehee glad we got a new camera to capture his SMILE =)

Ian is turning 15 mths old...

and he's starting to doodle on his doodling board...well just looking at past pics sure make us agree that Ian has grown so much....pple who dun see Ian for long time would comment that he shrank...as in lose some baby fat and getting leaner...no doubt coz this boy chases mama round the hse...yah seems like mama is having gd time elsewhere in hse so he makes sure he traces mama down...even knocking on toilet door when mama's inside...hhmm guess toddlerhood seems more fun than infanthood but guess Ian's more impressionable now too so better grasp this time to instill some gd habits and teach values that would last thru his whole lifetime...this job seems so daunting upon us as parents but its so crucial...may God help us

Wk 65 - Ian is learning to stand (on his own)

We've been seeing Ian getting more excited as he can stand on his own....he can do it for 5 secs or so....so tough to capture a nice shot despite daddy's many tries esp with mama's cam which is 3 secs slower...will try some day again...just wonder when Ian will start walking...he is super thrilled with his own standing...he shld be more thrilled when he can start walking or running huh...

Ian seems to prefer woman over man

During the camp, Uncle Richard made a comment that Ian only smiles to woman...and prefers woman..hhmm mama thot it was normal hehee...so on a usual Sun, it was tested again...Ian was alright being carried by Auntie Jan...look at how wide his smile is in the pic =) mama was also surprised that Ian was ok with Jan coz he was sleepy so was super grouchy

And his best 'friend' came along to try carry Ian....surprising Ian was ok coz earlier he shoved Uncle Kenneth away...here's a happy shot Uncle Kenneth insisted to take with Ian...look at the glee look on Uncle Kenneth's face hehee...well try harder to make friend with the little one huh...thot thru the trip he shld be more familiar with u hhmm well maybe coz he has a preference that's why??

Wk 64 - Ian is zzz thru the nite but..,

Here is a shot taken of Ian snoozing during nap time in the camp....since return from camp, he seemed to zzz thru the nite wo any feed even...except that he would wake up from his own bed and climb onto mama and daddy's bed to snuggle in between us before finally zzz thru the nite...hhmm so wonder if its a trade off for mama's wish for Ian to zzz thru...well well will let him have luxury of king size bed for a while...see when we will send him back to his mattress but he's doing well in his sleep...at least he's sleeping better than ever =) from 9-7 maybe its coz he's catching the zzz he missed over the past week
