In bday celebration mood today again...

Yest we attended a wedding and a wake svc...yup, think some old folks say its tabo for young kids like Ian to attend funeral but in actual fact this is the 3rd one Ian has attended...yest Auntie Shirley came and jokingly asked if we were preparing Ian for future ministry hhmm as small as he is he does not understand but he has to learn abt reality and frailty of life well today we had 2 bday parties to attend....we head off to Joe's Kitchen (thai restaurant) along Alexandra food for Joshua di2's 1 yr old party and Ian was eyeing on the vemicilli that was 1 of the dishes being served and rejected his all time fav papaya...sigh guess he took too much so took him out for a walk and he started eyeing on this tricycle which belonged to Joshua....had to teach Ian abt taking turns coz there were Seth and Joy as well...he cried for a long time when daddy took him out of the tricycle but he learnt after a few times...well din know mama had 1 of these tricycles at home (parked here by ah mu) so can consider bring Ian out for a 'ride' some day...always saw grandparents pushing their grandchildren downstairs but always thot it seemed like a pram to me and more work actually coz u need to push...but din know Ian was so thrilled by it...dun play me out huh!!!

Here's a shot with the bday boy and family....this boy sure knows its his bday coz he was so excited whenever camera was on him to take shots....he seemed a happy boy on such a special day...wishing him a happy and joyful bday together with Auntie Jamie and Uncle Joe (who is the chef)...we enjoyed the yummy food =)

Today was somewhat special and ah gong's place coz we had potluck for dinner instead of usual ah maa whipping up the dishes....so there was braised duck, pig trotters, soya sauce chicken, pumpkin soup, mee sua, veg and cake...of course the cake was the highlight for the kids...gd thing daddy insisted to get the cake for ah gong...even Ian was busy checking out the cake as the older kids took turns to put on the candle...the cake looked too bright as we put on all the 13 candles for the kids to blow as well....here's a shot with the 5 grandchildren looking excitedly at the cake...with Ian looking as if he was gonna pounce on the cake...well wishing ah gong many more blessed yrs ahead!

Daddy got a new car??!!??

Yah rite! We got a little 'ride' on the vintage car as this was the wedding car for Uncle Kel and Auntie Siew Lee...cool huh...well guess we were glad to be in the car which is a rare chance with Kenneth's help (coz wedding couple busy upstairs) except that daddy was not ard to drive us ard

So got Ian on the driver's seat and here's the boy checking out the steering wheel hehee with the advice from Uncle Ernest at the corner too...yah and Ian checked out the horn of the car too...hhmm anyway wanna wish Uncle Kel and Auntie Siew Lee a Happy and God-blessed marriage...welcome to the journey of marriage alongside with us from the small grp =)

Wk 72 - Ian started using his new bottle

Guess it has always been mama's thot to use this new bottle coz the previous Avent bottle Ian was using was kinda dripping and he seemed to outgrow it since he can sip from straw quite well, but mama been forgetting to change till yest when we went out for dinner and forgot to take the old bottle when we left the place and today was a busy early day (to attend Uncle Kelvin's wedding) so mama started Ian on this new bottle and well turned out Ian loved sipping from the bottle and surprising he did really well coz the straw is pretty tough to suck as it is the function of the straw to prevent the water from flowing back to the bottle...so glad Ian did really well and was having water parade the whole day that he drank almost 2 bottle full of water within a day...guess the water will do him good and see how long he would enjoy sipping from the new bottle =) a new 'trick' to let him enjoy water...as if the water tasted diff hehee

Ian's new hat...

Ya this was Ian's 1 yr old cake box and mama used to contain some of his toys (so as to keep the same set intact) and here's what the little boy has used it...

Over the recent weeks, Ian has become alot more talkative, po2 was just sharing that even at Yishun, when the corridor light man came to fix the light and with conversation with po2 and ah gong, Ian also wanted to have a 'share' of the conversation and also talked in his baby language...

well this boy is also learning to mimic alot of adults' actions eg there was once mama gave daddy a few taps to wake up from his nap, this boy also learnt and went ahead and keep tapping daddy to wake up...but there is 1 thing we are still teaching him which is not to hit pple...he has the habit of doing it..so mama taught him how to 'sayang' pple coz we think he might not know his strength is to hard to inflict pain on others...so there was 1 nite he started hitting daddy and when mama said 'Sayang', his immediate instinct was to 'sayang' himself...and when mama said 'sayang daddy', he still went ahead to hit daddy...wonder if he's acting blur or he knows what is pain but just din want to inflict pain on himself...well well will continue to drill this in him else he becomes any other spoilt brat in the street

Ian's favourite 'TOY'

Here's Ian with his favourite cooking utensils...he would be often seen ard the hse with these utensils and pretend cooking and eating even....daddy would often tease him asking what he's cooking and he would let daddy 'aahhmm' at his utensils...well Ian has often bite on them as well so u can see they are quite worn out with his teeth marks

Recently he has a favourite magic 'wand' which is actually a stick which was suppose to connect to a heli toy which po2 has bought but this boy loves to carry the wand ard as if he knows what is magic...anyway he would be angry if it is snatched from his hands so we better beware...but it seems a dangerous tool to play with coz there was once mama was on phone with jiu2 and Ian happened to poke himself with it and ended up in tears but he still loves to play with it

Guess Ian had a tussle within himself which toy he prefers and mama was quite surprised when he came up with this new 'toy' he learnt to put the utensils thru his wand and play it like a flag...guess he has the best of both toys and mama was just amazed how this 16mth old boy can be so innovative with his own play hahaa guess kids will come up with anything when they are bored with their usual toys hehee...yup perhaps this 'flag' came in timely as National Day is drawing near hehee...Ian could be flying this 'flag' since we can't find the flag in our own hse...except that with Ian's flag, it means more cooking and perhaps more FOOD for the little boy??

Wk 71 - Ian's eyeing on OUR FOOD!

Ian's reached the stage that he's resisting his usual porridge for a while and pointing at our food instead...guess he realised how tasty adult's food are...coz he had his 1st ounce of fatty oil last Sat when we ran out of bread for his bf and he had his prata...and here's a pic of him checking out on daddy's chee cheong fun and happily munching away without all the sauce (of course!) tho it might be tasteless to us but he's enjoying them....guess will slowly move him onto table food but of course selectively one....and soon mama gotta change the dishes for dinner too hhmm

This is how I drink my milk

Yup, Ian's 'savoring' his milk on the bed...since he's on 1 nap so mama started giving him a bottle of milk before zzzz so mama kind of weaned him off (quite successfully I must say) and Ian seems to love the sight of his milk bottle...mama used to worry why Ian's taking so long to hold his own bottle but guess for a boy who never quite grew up drinking from bottle is doing really well...the other day mama was just trying to tilt the bottle properly, he gently pushed mama's hands away and tilt it himself...hhmm my boy has grown up...well just glad he's not too reliant on milk feed coz he's feeding on solid really well too...just hope the milk feed gives the supplement that he needs for growth ie calcium...and mama has learnt not to worry abt Ian not doing this and that coz in his own time, Ian will learn to do the things accordingly =)

Daddy's on MC for the 1st time after Ian's birth

Yup...daddy has been STRONGER since Ian's been delivered...mama still rem daddy was down with a bout of flu just before mama was abt to deliver Ian...daddy had to skip RT to stay home accompany mama in case Ian was popping out anytime...well soon thereafter daddy recovered and passed his IPPT...think carrying Ian helped build up muscles hehee...anyway just the past weekend daddy had really bad food poisoning and he took Mon MC off...here's both daddy and Ian snoozing away taking noon nap...tho mama always hope daddy could be home with MC so we could have company at home...after this episode of food poisoning, guess mama wish daddy could be in pink of health everyday coz daddy was really 'down' coz of his tummy...but daddy slimed down quite abit thru this episode...hehee...anyway wanna compare a pic when daddy was zzz when Ian was first back home from hospital and u really can see 'like daddy like son' hahaa

A last leisure Fri noon for mama and Ian??

Yup on the Fri noon, ah mu jio mama and Ian for a lunch at TB plaza and take train to Yew Tee to visit Auntie Baoling and Baby Daniel...as usual Ian din want to be in the pram coz he was sleepy and he was busy checking out pple on the MRT coz he rarely gets chance to take public tpt...Yew Tee seems the furthest stn he has taken so far...so he was on mama's shoulder by the time we reached there....after 2h nap he woke up in the new place and was checking out baby daniel with Joy...here's a shot of them playing with the baby or rather with the baby rocker chair...Ian attempted climbing in the chair when baby daniel was taking his feed...hhhmm guess Ian was fascinated by the itsy bitsy spider chair and thot he could still fit in hhmmthereaft ah ba fetched us for dinner...thanks for ah mu and fam if not Ian and mama gonna have a boring evening coz daddy went for a 3 on 3 basketball match so we had dinner with ah mu and fam...and we were checking out shopping malls and here's a busy shopper rummaging thru the heaps of clothes hahaa...the salesgirl saw Ian on the clothes and was like 'ahhh' hehee...mama's arms too tired coz Ian was super climby after dinner so mama decided to put him there but soon he was throwing all the clothes on the flr sigh....yup this might just be the last bit of leisure Fri mama could share with ah mu coz mama got a tuition assignment and it falls on Fri...well well mama sure gonna miss those Fris out with ah mu coz it has been our tai2 Fri shopping last time when the 2 little ones were really little...gonna miss those fun times shopping, eating and queueing for donuts hehee...well well mama gonna do some serious work now...guess its gd to be busy with other stuff rather than just caring for Ian...besides mama could prep Ian's pri syllabus well ahead before he goes to sch hahaa...so far sighted huh...its been some time before mama felt so 'stress' abt prep for tuition coz its just diff huh....

Ian's 16 mths old and...

he is starting to take a nap per day....Ian used to take 2 naps in the day ie. late morning and late noon but for the past wk it has proved to be an ardous task to make Ian sleep at nite coz his late noon nap is so super power that can lve him wide awake even past 11pm (even with daddy and mama already in bed, he's still playing ard) so decided to stretch him to nap after lunch ie abt 1pm+...tho its a tough task to stretch this boy who is super sleepy abt 11am+ but seems an easier task to make him nap at 1pm coz mama used to spanking his butt so that he could sleep so with this 1 nap, it gives mama less headache to make him nap and mama has more free time too =) it used to be busy cooking lunch/dinner whenever Ian naps but now with 2 hr nap, mama could do her own stuff but it is tough to cook meals with Ian busying ard...so gotta make do with his presence in the kitchen when mama gotta cook meals...well sometimes the 2 hr nap seems not enough for this boy...look at how he can even doze off on the sofa even after mama carried him out of his bed....guess the 1 nap makes him have real gd stretch of zzz...well guess its tough to stretch him on wkends coz on car journey he seems to doze off really well...guess its only for his own home coz at po2's place he has also seemed to take his usual 2 naps coz he wakes up super early at po2's place to ask for 'mum-mum' hhmmm wonder why this diff routine when he's not home huh

I want to put on my BOOGIE shoes =)

With the shoe rack near the living room is a bad idea coz these days Ian loves to go and put on mama's shoes when we are in the living room....he doesn't know what it means by dirty...but he just loves trying on shoes...even a day when joy jie2 and seth gor2 came by...he tried on Joy's shoes...hhmm guess he knows whose shoes he could wear and perhaps that fitted his feet better but it's PINK...so he went on to try Seth's shoes and found the blue sandals too big and went back to the pink sandals...arrgghhh endless washing of his hands on such days...ok, will get ur shoes soon...then perhaps u can learn to walk soon!

Wk 70 - Ian loves standing up and dance these days

Yes, these days Ian loves standing up and even standing up just to dance...wonder if its coz he's watching those kids dancing when standing so he's learning...here's a pic of him captured with his fav cooking tools....see with a knife and a laddle on each hand he's standing to dance...hhmm a little weird but he loves standing...even if its to stand on bed while wanting Ian to go to zzz..guess ever he can walk perhaps he would walk long enough round the house before falling into his bed for zzz land...hhmm

Wk 69 - Ian loves to talk on the phone

Here's Ian trying to hold the home phone under his chin while gesturing to mama what's happening...hhmm wonder if Ian will become a talkative boy coz he loves talking the phone and talk...mimicing adults when they are on the phone...sigh sometimes when mama is on the phone he would be upset coz he has no phone to talk with....well this boy is surely talking alot even to himself and us...just wondering what those strings of words actually means...cant wait for him to talk words that make sense...oh wait but maybe not too soon...if not it would be noisy hehee
