Ian's 1st visit to the SAFRA pool

Yah tho mama and daddy been safra members all this while, we have yet to visit the pool with Ian coz we been going to ah ba's NTU alumni pool all this while until recently thot it to be unsuitable for Ian to be in so decided to visit on this sunny Sat...which prove to be a gd place for Ian to learn to walk in water....he was walking at the side of the pool as he had no choice otherwise he would be 'drinking' water hehee...here's a shot with daddy trying to make him walk in the pool
Most of the time he was contented with his watering can tho making sure not to water over his own head hehee....but he was really just playing with the water can till much later when we cajole him to go play at the fountain...guess he would enjoy the slide at the pool when he's much older...at the time being, will bring more beach set the next time...but this is sure to be a more frequented place for us since its convenient and the pool is clean....tho mama is still thinking if she could bring Ian to this pool on her own on wkday hhmm

Ian had his new hair cut

After some months, we visited the salon again coz felt Ian's hair was getting long (esp at the sides as it was covering his ears and according to men, it was supp to be quite irritating) and here's the look before Ian had his hair cut
And here's his 'sulky' look hehee more of mama's sulky look coz just din like the new hair cut coz it looked as if Ian was gonna be 'enlisted' soon hehee....sigh coz there is only 1 poster in the salon so auntie immediately jio mama for Ian to cut the hairstyle (guess all boys who go the salon must look the same when they walk out) sigh...told her not to cut too short but well...hhmm maybe mama shld bring along new posters for the auntie next time for Ian's haircut...nah, gonna change salon liao lah...CMI!!! (cannot make it lah!) But somehow with the new haircut, Ian looks chubbier than ever hhmm is mama imagining things??

Ian's exploring higher grounds

Well this is a common scene these days to see Ian on top of the coffee table....he has gotten bored just moving ard the floor and found it thrilling to be on top of the table...until when he's bored again then he would then cry for help as he can't get down on his own....sigh dun they know what is dangerous and learn their lessons when it happened once...just need to keep reminding...no wonder mummies get naggy by the time they grow into their teens...being trained over the yrs already hahahaa

Ian's 'THRONES'....

Yup, Ian has his throne at home....its this sofa set which we got from Thailand some yrs back and din quite use it so its been lying ard in the living room but due to its height, Ian could rest his legs on the ground and yet sit comfortably on it playing his toys...sometimes even resting his back and head on the set while watching his DVD....we call it his throne coz if he sees us sitting on it, he would come by and use his butt to push us off his throne...as if it belongs to him...hhmm
And over at po2's place, we heard of him sitting on the blue chair while resting his legs on the stool but never quite see him doing it since we dun stay over the place with him...so managed to capture this shot when we last picked him up from his 'campsite' and true enough he was at this position waiting for us except with his vigorous shaking of legs as he was excited to see us again....see how small a kid might be but yet got his fav seat...hhmm time to teach him to give up his throne to God when he's older heheee coz the King ought to sit at the throne of his life...cheem huh...but also to rem the king of the house is not him hehehee

Spongebob gifts from Uncle Kenneth

Besides po2 who lavishes gifts on Ian, another one is Uncle Kenneth...it started with a Spongebob Squarepants toy which he got from Korea for Ian....the next was the fluffy Spongebob pen (that lights up) which Ian tries to pull off the fluff =)
And today, Ian received a Spongebob Lego keychain from Uncle Kenneth...tho this boy cant express his thanks to this special Uncle yet, these gifts are special to Ian...wonder if ever Ian would really like this cartoon character but Uncle Kenneth thinks its bright and attractive to kids...hhmm this Uncle Kenneth never fails to attempt to carry Ian everytime he meets Ian...hope Ian will get more familiar with this Uncle and reciprocate the kind of attention given to him...for the time being, it would be mama and daddy thanking Uncle Kenneth for showering all the care for Ian and thanks for the gifts for Ian =)

A different Sat...

Usually wkends are reserved for family time but today mama attended a 'Godly Woman seminar' at CEFC with my dear 2 sisters and sister in law (to be) in the morning so the guys brought the kids to swim....tho it was a tug within mama to give up this precious Sat morning slot coz mama always treasured time with daddy and Ian as well as with the 2 other little ones...it was for a greater cause....today's topic is on being a virtuous woman...on the way there when mama realised the topic, the 1st reaction was 'Uh huh, I am not virtuous lor' well well but the sermon totally changed my perspective....well it's not a choice to be a virtuous woman but its a possible task with God's empowering....alot of lessons to learn coz its been a long long long long time since mama had such gd spiritual intake esp on the affirmation of being a godly woman coz we live in a godless world....alot of edification during the session esp mama been abit swayed by world desires to go back to work force again...but the grp mama's been placed in had majority stay home mum...hhmm isn't this a clear sign just when it seems as if there were so so few SHM....gotta press on coz its for greater cause that we see beyond the nitty gritty of daily life...onward we move on to a heavenly bound place where we call ETERNITY....just so worthwhile to be away from daily routine and to meet God face to face again...looking fwd for the next mth's session =)

Ian's 1st beach set

Yah soon after the chalet stay, po2 came by and gave Ian a beach set...coz Ian was 'fighting' over a spade with his dear seth gor2 at the chalet so po2 thot to buy him 1 set to avoid future fights...well the old folks often want to solve 'issue' the easier way out....kids are to learn to share....anyway mama been wanting to get Ian 1 set too since we were surprised how he enjoyed sand play so this set came timely...just that was asking daddy where else got nice sand beside Sentosa which is nearby....gone are those days when we could play sand anytime at the playground near our home....when mama was young, the playground just down our flat is filled with sand so we could play every and any day....sigh these days kids are so so deprived of nature and what is called natural....and we gotta travel further to teach them of such lessons...ya will see 1 day when we could drop by East Coast park for sandplay but for the time being Ian's using the spade like a spoon hhmm so we gotta watch when we really use it for sand play

More joy mobile rides PLS...

For the Mon that has just passed, as ah ba had national day off so we tagged along for the morning out in the botanical gardens followed by a walk at Tanglin mall coz ah mu had some stuff to get...so we saw some joy mobiles ard and Ian was playing happily in them....tho they were stationary (nope no coins allowed for these kids) he was happily moving the 'steering wheels' and standing up once in a while and 'talk' in dunno what language...later on we realised some kids ard were abt to take them so we wanted to move on to another site with more rides....but Ian din understand why he had to be taken out of them when he was playing happily in it...he was whining while mama was carrying him or crying as if mama bullied him...sigh
till he was placed into another joy mobile ride then he was appeased....guess it was hard to explain to a kid who is barely 2....and it surprised me how Ian enjoyed himself on these rides altho it seemed like just some 'ordinary seat' on sth that nicely decorated....well well just enjoy them as they are....they dun necessary need to move hehee...let's see how long more we can go before Ian will learn to ask for coins but these days these rides dun come cheap at all!

Ian turns 17 mths old on this BUSY national day

On this day that the nation turns 43, Ian's 17 mths old and we had a busy day starting with Chng family breakfast together at Jalan Membina home...see how the 3 kids dressed in the same outfit playing together (the patriotic outfit is from ah maa who got for all her grandchildren) so its kindof timely for the kids to wear on such special day...we had a hearty breakfast together and to share time together be it play(for the kids) or chat(for the adults)
Soon after the meal and play, Ian zzz on po2's arms and we made way home for his zzland so we could proceed with small grp in the noon....however Ian seemed to get up from the wrong side of the bed and was super grouchy as the guests arrived and only warmed up a little as we proceeded to his playroom for the fellowship meeting...glad the grp could meet coz we are re-starting the small grp meeting (esp more couples are getting hitched this yr so we could share married lives together and perhaps more little ones along the way) so Ian was 'center' of the attraction with his endless laughter and play (coz he was happy with all the uncles and aunties sharing his playroom together) well we will meet every mth for this edifying fellowship

Thereafter some of us proceeded to SGH to visit Uncle Benedict who just went thru a surgery which will help to get rid of some pain affecting his nerve....quite surprised to see Uncle Benedict in 4 bedded ward alone and realised it's Chinese 7th mth so pple are avoiding any op or hospitalisation so we had a gd time chatting with Uncle Benedict who is recovering really fast...here's Ian with daddy playing with a flag that Uncle Eugene brought along and Ian was thrilled as he caught glimpse of the NDP parade at the tv there....praying speedy recovery for Uncle Benedict and rest well in the month of MC that he has been given

We headed to the West to attend a birthday party of a 30yr old BOY....hahahaa we were told to come dressed in red and white for our dear Kenneth's bday party....well we were welcomed with Spore flag and with goodie bags of titbits of our past....with mamee, white rabbit sweet and many more....had a gd time catching up with mama and daddy's peers but Ian caught the limelight of the nite as Uncle Eugene brought out his digital SLR and kept taking shots of Ian....all were amazed by Ian's endless request of the fried bee hoon and Uncle Eugene caught shots of him slurping up the bee hoon, doing 'who's the man' shots....it was as if Ian was the bday boy and was having some photo shoot....well guess we would engage Uncle Eugene's assistance to take family shoot (since been influenced by Auntie Lydia abt taking photo shoot) and Ian's pretty relaxed with Uncle Eugene and Uncle Eugene is quite a pro in making Ian laugh...will post more of his shots when the pics are available...mama also not quite sure how many shots were taken coz the camera kept clicking...guess will see them on the facebook soon

And of course the bday boy did not fail to attempt to carry Ian but it was quite surprising Ian did not fuss when Uncle Kenneth picked him up...guess he knows whose bday party it is for huh....so here's Uncle Kenneth trying to capture a nice shot with Ian...guess Uncle Eugene caught a better shot than mama....well wishing Uncle Kenneth a blessed birthday and for a bday boy whose bday coincide with the nation, he's being v patriotic to have the bday party in line with Singapore's..asking all to come in the colour code and even wanting all to sing some national songs after the food...hhmm what kind of ideas could come up from this Uncle....this makes mama real keen to celebrate Ian's 2nd bday coz guess it could be fun with all these Uncles and Aunties who are pretty entertained by Ian...guess that's the privilege of being the only kid ard among mama's peers...every smile and noise made by Ian just entertained everyone....yup its sure a busy National Day for the whole family and Ian's real tired after the day has ended...wish we could stay longer for the BBQ bday party but gotta make sure Ian zzz well for Sun's worship

Ian's memory is building up...

Well mama thot for kids of Ian's age they most prob dun rem things coz their memory not quite in yet but it was a surprise with the things Ian's doing....for his fav DVD there is a track with a song 'The wheels on the bus goes round and round' where there is a stanza that goes 'The mommies on the bus go ssshhh sshh sshhh' and whenever the song is played, Ian would come up with this sshh action knowing that there would a stanza coming up...mama was surprised when she 1st saw Ian could make it to ssshh and its everytime the song is played he would do it...that means he has memory that there is this action for the song coz the kids do that action....well its never been taught but Ian's surely and slowly picking up...its scary in a way....hhmm dun u think?

Ian's 1st chalet stay at NSRCC

Hhmm din realise it was the 1st time Ian was going for a chalet stay but it was a much anticipated one coz mama could have a break as the Chng clan are going for the chalet which means po2 could assist to look after Ian...guess we are 1 of the families who loved chalet coz we younger ones would love the play and spilt to do the cooking and our dear po2 would love to whip up dishes while the rest of us are out to play....since mama stopped working so lesser chalet...this time daddy suggested NSRCC coz at least its still in Spore easier to get food tho we would love Sultan Shoal but still under reno

mama went NSRCC some yrs back for some coy retreat and rem the place was BIG and so assumed we could cook...until the day of departure then daddy realised from his boss that cooking not allowed and so we had to make alt plans for po2's prepared food...gd thing we could still make do with some of them...and it was a gathering with Lee Clan since some of us yet to meet up so it was a gd chance to talk over food and BBQ

the chalet was a superb place for the kids...coz it was endless play and swim...din know the pool was so attractive that we went there 3 times...guess Ian got tanner with his already tan look...and he had his 1st try on sand play and just loved digging the sand...guess we could go more in future to play with sand

and of course it was yummy food...be it steamboat, prata, clubhouse food or the new found place at sea sport centre with the yummy seafood...we loved the whole stay thoroughly and tho it was planes flying past the resort the whole time coz it was situated near the airport...we loved the BIG house which could house all of us and of coz the kids loved the space and the stairs...well the 4D3N stay just passed so fast and guess we all wished we could stay on somemore...perhaps can look fwd the next hols hhmm..guess its the time spent together as well that made the diff and truly appreciate family ties and just wanna thank God for that!

Ian's fav DVD

Yah besides Hi5, Ian has his fav DVD...and he seems to prefer it to Hi5 as his eyes are really glued to the tv when its played....mama happened to chance upon this DVD 1 day when visiting the church library and knowing that Ian loved action songs so mama got this continuous action sing-a-long DVD which comprises the nursery songs and also some sunday sch songs and never expected Ian to love it so much...for the past wk this was the 'tool' that saved mama from whines and even allowed mama to take shower while Ian's glued to the tv....tho its bad to glue Ian to the tv, guess the songs wouldn't be as bad influence. Do hope to get the Bible songs series so that Ian can grow up learning all these Sunday sch songs and learn them by heart since he watches them so often...
