Happy Birthday, DAYI!

Today we had a celeb for dayi (altho we had a joint one for Seth gor2 on chu-yi) and Ian had the privilege to be in the limelight with dayi with the cupcake from Da Paolo....the cakes were yummy and guess we shld go back for more since its just at GWC
Anw, wishing dayi a super blessed bday and hoping she will recover from her flu bug soon so she could enjoy more blessings on her bday! Thanks for being such a lovely dayi to Ian....ur presence makes him sparkle with love and warmth

Ian finally learnt how to kiss =)

Ian's been at flying kiss for some mths already and whenever he gives flying kiss, pple would be amazed at how sweet a bye kiss he could give....but he dunno how to give gdnite kiss whenever mama/daddy asked for it....so this morning, daddy asked for a morning kiss and he was immediately going ahead and made a peck on daddy's cheek....hheee daddy was happy to the sky....Ian's finally learnt how to kiss....and when at bed at nite, when asked by daddy to give gdnite kiss he was going nonstop to mama and daddy coz he knew he had 'succeeded' =)

6th day of CNY

Been wanting to go back the Sentosa Flowers coz we din quite check out the palawan beach layout so we headed there in the morning and jio-ed ah maa to join us coz she's the flower lover and she gladly say Yes coz she's been wanting to go....and tmr is the last day so here's us with a dunno what sculpture (supp to be bear I guess) with cactus all ard....Ian wasn't keen to walk the exhibit today until ah maa offered him some fruit sweets....guess its his 1st try on sweet and he knew who to look for when he's finished his sweet...sigh hope he won't start on sweet crave

After his nap, we headed to Woodlands to meet up with Auntie Lydia and Javier di-di coz it has been so long since we met up...well Javier di-di had plenty of toys to play...Ian was keen to play in his same igloo tent coz of the balls in the tent....well Javier di-di gonna be 'promoted' to be a gor2 liao so hope he will take care of his didi/meimei in time to come and we shall meet soon again huh

Then as usual we headed to po2's place for dinner and today was somewhat special coz Ian was the only grandchild ard coz ah mu's whole fam is in Aust...so Ian had all the attention given....with dayi feeding him dinner....auntie Lorraine to peel orange with him and Jiu2 to play ard with him...guess he felt really happy coz he was happily peeling mandarin orange and giving out to everyone to make sure everyone has a pc of the orange....and here's a pic of him clapping for his own gd work....hhmm self praise huh??well guess he misses his cousins' presence to join him his usual toys' play coz he wasn't too keen today huh....well not for long, they will be back soon =)

Growing up thru the mths....

Yes, as mentioned in last blog post that will get the photoshop done to see the progression of Ian's growing up with pics taken with Auntie HJ....hhm why Auntie HJ...coz she was mama's best counterpart while working in MINDEF and now that she's working in SH and we made a pt to meet each time she comes back and whenever she is back, she will wanna carry Ian (coz she is body pump trained hahaa) and mama will make sure we take a pic of her carrying Ian...altho its not getting easier for her to carry Ian...be it weight or coz of the stranger anxiety in Ian but somehow we managed to get Ian to be carried by this 'friendly' auntie hehehe....so can see how Ian's growing up thru the mths and guess Auntie HJ is one of those who can comment if Ian's grown taller, slimmer or heavier thru the mths coz she doesn't meet him all the time...well Auntie HJ, enjoy ur stay in Spore and do hope u get station back in Spore =) so we dun meet only once a blue moon, maybe mama could meet u for workouts?? hehee

5th day of CNY

Today, after some boring routine at home, Ian was most glad to hear daddy was coming home to fetch us....he was humming while in the car as if he could smell wkend was here again, we headed to Auntie SC and Uncle Marcus place...there were many toys Ian was fascinated to but here's the doraemi tumbling block which Ian had a gd time trying to kick it down hahaa

Had a gd time of feasting over steamboat and it was ang bao time...here's the happy Auntie Denise giving out ang bao to ian hehee....dunno is the giver or the receiver happy hor....or is daddy the happiest...look at him behind hahaha captured his gleeful smile =)

Ian was more comfy at this new place compared to a mth ago when we visited for Christmas party...he was helping himself with toys ard the place and could play with Auntie Denise and even high-5ed with Auntie HJ....guess he was more at home since he had a gd long nap compared to the last time

Here's the grp pic finally with both boys in and with all the aunties hehee....sound so so old liao but it was a gd time catch up each time Auntie HJ is back from SH....will do some photoshop to capture the shots Ian has taken with Auntie HJ each time she is back....see if Ian has grown or someone has aged hehee

2nd day of CNY

Initially thot was gonna be a boring chu-er since we are done with most relatives bai nian...but had quite a handful of programmes as well
After Ian's beauty sleep, we rushed to airport T3 to send off ah bah and ah mu's whole fam who were going on a Mel trip....so got chance to wear the long sleeve DKNY shirt from Auntie Denise hehee...well enjoy your hols and will catch up soon

Then we headed to Whampoa...to daddy's godma's house aka Ian's other ah maa's home....there we met the AL gu2's 2 gals....Ian was fascinated by their cooking set...he was busy taking 'food' in and out of the fridge and turn on/off the tap washing his 'stuff' and then became busy with the food on the table....then to Junette jie2's alive baby's stroller....enough to keep him busy...while we saw guests in and out of the house...

We then made our way to ah maa's home for lunch....yah home cooked food is so so much better esp for growing up kids coz we contemplated where to have lunch since most places are not open...so Ian had his endless of fishball feast there and managed to ride on the bike wo much 'obstacles' coz usually the gor2s and jie2s won't quite allow him to ride on so he was ALONE to ride all that he liked....guess it was quite diff with 1 kid ard only....all the attention was on him...ah maa even allowed him to play with the 'kamsss' and Ian was throwing them all over sigh...

went home for Ian's nap and then went with ah maa to visit some great granduncle at AMK....there weren't any kids coz we went with most yi2s and Ian was pretty unfamiliar with the fish except to get acquianted with the BIG fish....here's the boy wanting to check out the fish and yet to afraid to go near coz the fish is rather huge and could splash water out of the tank....

thereafter we headed po2's place for dinner and 'parked' Ian there coz next day was Wed and din want to ferry him here and there...so we went home with a peaceful nite hahaa after a tiring busy LONG wkend

1st day of CNY

This yr, we had a chance of taking pics of the places we visited on 1st day of CNY...as usual we went early to ah gong's and ah maa's home for our mee sua breakfast....this yr, Ian started joining in the bf since he's on table food already

Look at how 'auntie Ian' took his orange bag...aiyo....managed to capture this shot coz he has been 'flaunting' his bag at home....hhmm here we set off to bai nian already

He did his 'rounds' at the goodie table when we went si-mo and gik gong's place (they are Ian's great granduncle and auntie so not sure how to call them hehe) when the kids are playing with the toys at home, here's this foodie boy checking out the table....eating nuts and melon seeds but only to spit them out coz he does not know how to shell them sigh

Here's the pic of the gang bai nian together to si-mo....not bad at least captured the shot of us in our CNY wear hehee...and we met si-mo's kids and exchanged greetings....then we head to ah gong's and ah maa's place for lunch again (so fast huh) so that we could rush home for the kids nap for round 2 in the noon

We missed meeting the guests at ah gong's place coz by the time the kids were up, some of them were gone so we headed East to bai nian to gim bo and gu gong (hhmm sounds weird huh hehee) and the kids were fascinated by the fish reared (tho only 1 left) but had a gd time of ice-cream, drink (see Ian still holding on tightly) and some more goodies....the kids came back with more food coz gim bo bought some of them hhhmm
After heading South, East and West...we then headed North to gong2's and po2's place...had a gd time of steamboat....and of course also to advance celebrate seth and dayi's bday coz ah mu's whole fam heading to Melbourne for 2 weeks break (shiok huh...how envious) anyway advanced Happy Bday to Seth gor2 wherever u will be....here's the fam pic with ooopss Ian's addition =)

Our early reunion dinner

we had reunion dinner with the chng family on Sat and here's the pic of us having the yu sheng from sakae...was a nice cosy dinner with the kids on the table as well....guess its getting cosier each yr as the kids grow up hehee...but was sure happy to have the yummy food coz the 2 little ones were having their 1st reunion dinner joining the adults with the table food (except no crispy prawn, no curry chic and those considered more adult-y food hehee)

Its such times we rem to thank God for family that we can stay this close together =)

Happy Niu Year

We visited the Sentosa Flowers on the bright Sat morning...1 of the 1st to be there since the show just started that morning....at least beat the crowd to take pics with the flowers....here's the family with the cow...may it be a yr of love and blessings to all...here's the Iong family greeting all friends and family an advanced blessed Lunar new yr...enjoy all the meeting up with relatives and friends

Well visiting the sentosa flowers just bring back memories of last yr when Ian wasn't so mobile yet (not walking yet) and we visited Sentosa 3 times during the CNY period...this yr was much easier coz the boy was walking up slope on his own and happily picking the flower....just glad this boy is growing up and hoping he will love nature so we shall go Sentosa more often now that we have free access =) and mama can't wait to bring Ian on the luge ride hahaa

Ian's 1st ferry trip

So far, Ian's been on all transport except ferry so was wondering how it would turn out on the ferry to Bintan coz daddy got a villa chalet at Bintan...who knows Ian was running a little fever just few days before the trip....he got alot better so glad he could enjoy the fun on the island coz we were staying at a villa which had its own private pool....yayayaa Ian's been going endlessly to the pool coz it was just beside the dining hall....so we went at least 3 times a day...even the last day, we had breakfast by the pool coz Ian asked for water fun the moment he woke up...sigh

Glad po2, gong2 and dayi came along for the trip....so we could take turns to look after Ian...so much so Ian actually only slept with mama and daddy on the 1st nite and 4th nite coz 2nd nite, he zzz with po2 and 3rd nite, he insisted to zzz with dayi coz he said Bye to mama (ie to drive mama out of the room) so he really went room hopping (coz there were 3 rooms in the villa) in a way mama had plenty of rest....hahaaa and we actually went out for archery while ian was taking his nap....

Had a gd time driving ard the island and even went for spa....quite cheap there except nothing for Ian....guess he was satisfied with the water fun and all the attention from the adults...he liked the cake celebration for daddy....asking for many mouthfuls of the choco cake which dayi brought over to the island

well well guess the next hols gonna be some time later hhhmmm....enjoy the pics

Happy Birthday daddy!

This yr, Ian understands when mama told him it's daddy's birthday....he went to take the cake box from the table and bring it in front of daddy and hum his birthday song and blew the candles away....hhmm he knows it when mama says birthday but does he understand it's not his bday but daddy's?? hhmm coz he went ahead and blow every candle that is lighted on daddy's cake....we had 1 pre celeb at Bintan and he also blew them and insisted cutting the cake.

Last nite, Seth gor2 was nice to drop by with ah mu with a slice of coffee bean cake for daddy...so mama lighted 1 candle to add to atmosphere but that boy happily blew the candle off...hhmm guess with some bday celeb coming up, its quite scary how fast this boy can blow out others' candles....guess he is preparing for his 2nd birthday coming up huh

anyway on daddy's bday, it was our wish that we could all get well soon coz the Iong family is down with a bad flu bug

Playground and more playgrounds...

Now that Ian is more adventurous to try more play so was game to go playground since ah ba was off yest....so we headed to IMM 'dry' playground (coz there was a wet one beside it and Ian was often distracted by it) here we see Ian doing alot of tunnel crawling....tho he's yet to try the steeper tunnel coz of the many older children running thru the tunnel...well see when we could drop by again

Ian was thoroughly fascinated by this spinning wheel....he was happy to have his other 2 cousins on the wheel and they weren't giddy despite some long play there (we wonder why...hhmm) just a pleasant sight to see the 3 kids playing so happily....reminds mama of the gd old days when we had our share of fun in playground downstairs (while the wheel is alot BIGGER) and the playground tools aren't so fascinating

On Sat, we went for more playgrounds coz the weather was gd and the kids shld have more outdoor fun....so we headed to West Coast Park....tho playing for a while under the hot sun, we adults were feeling more of the heat than the kids....here's Ian trying to balance on the bar....hhm was 'disturbed' by loud BIG kids again...so he din complete his 'bar walk'...guess the playground not quite suitable for his age yet....

We explored the rest of the park and chanced upon this moving board which needed the 'rowing' of an adult and here's the 3 kids enjoying the short 'ride' while daddy is doing the hard work...hehe and the gor2 is happily in the shade while the 2 younger ones can hardly open their eyes in the sun...well it was a gd time out (guess a little too hot for us!) will check out more playgrounds to bring the kids then

A call for mama

Been wanting to blog on this but keep forgeting coz usually do the blog in the middle of nite and in need of zzz hehee...anw this happened sometime last mth when Ian was at po2's place and mama was home when I heard the home phone rang, the other side was a kid rattling on...thot was a kid playing the phone....but listening carefully (before hanging up) it was po2's voice at the background and po2 was asking if Ian was calling his mama....

True enough, somehow Ian managed to dial home's number....we are still puzzled how he did it but we guess it might be ah gong who dialed mama previously and Ian must have re-dialed...so Ian was 'talking' to mama....was quite interesting to hear him talk on the phone coz so far when u ask him to talk on the phone (with someone on the other side) either he will guess smile and push the phone away or he cannot get past the Hello greeting....so was kindof surprise for mama..this boy continues to love playing with phones...with his toy phone, mama's hp, po2's hp or even daddy's hp...and these days he pretend and imitate us talking on the phone...keep going on and on and can even laugh at some junctures (as if pple are telling him some jokes) and even end off with Bye...quite hilarious to see him going on non-stop...just wonder if he will become a chatty boy hahaa

Ian is 22 mths old today

So fast, 2 more mths and Ian would be 2 yrs old....for the past 2 festive weeks Ian din stay over po2's place and when he came back yest, he was real anxious to look for mama but mama was out for work...we had some fun last nite, guess it never gets easier for both mama and daddy even tho he has been staying at po2's place for almost 25 times (yes and mama is counting) we just miss him as much each time he is away

this morning, this boy was happily playing with his doc set and surprised mama with the glasses on hehee....only for a while and mama must capture this shot...does he really look like a bogus doc (with his doc bag on his hand) or does he resemble more like daddy?? hehe...this boy is getting mischievous by the day, but he's also learning now...he's pointing out to things and waiting for mama/daddy to say the word to him and he will try to repeat....altho sometimes can be frustrating when he reads his fav little Einsteins book and no matter how many times we say, he still can't get the words (like water melon, window, toothpaste....) well but its more fun with this learning boy at home =)

Ian's blog goes private!

Yyaaaa been contemplating to make the blog private viewing but thot abit troublesome coz dunno some of the email of friends who are reading it....but been receiving too many funny comments on the blog...so let me know when u are in coz quite troublesome to run thru the emails and add on....sigh but at least we know we wont have strangers reading the blog....

and also decided to change the template look (thanks to Yijie) coz it has been the same look for the past yr (s). Tho Ian loves blue, maybe changing color will change his fav color (as if huh) anyway new look for the new yr too =)

Ian's igloo tent

Yest before going jiu2's place for hse warming, we were checking out the places in the east and went to Ikea....when we came to the kids' section, Ian was fascinated by the igloo tent....he has all this while been interested in tents, 1st was the numerous plays in Seth gor2's tent and recently was at Manfred di2's place...so we decided to get him a tent, well a New Yr's gift?? hhmm this boy was happily playing in the tent and hiding from mama and daddy....he was also interested in the blue shark toy....no surprise since it's blue but looked too scary so din get that...anyway wonder if he would continue to be interested in it once the tent is set up at home hhmm

A day out on New Yr's day

On New Yr's eve, we decided to bring Ian home so that we could spend the morning out on New Yr's day coz po2 had intended to keep Ian back at Yishun....but well daddy wanted time out with Ian so we went out early for cycling...this time it was a double bike with Ian at the back...will get the pic from ah mu....quite fun coz the whole fam can be 'together' on a vehicle besides on the car....guess Ian din have much view coz blocked by mama who's sitting in the middle so later on, daddy took Ian on the bike alone and Ian was actually making 'whee' sound...guess he could see better....but he was most thrilled to have both parents together on the bike with him

After the lunch, we met up with some of mama and daddy's peers from church except for Auntie Syl and Uncle Richard who are attending another church (they just got married last mth, the one which we attended) and it was a gd time catching up coz hardly got the chance to relax and talk...coz it was at ah mu and ah bah's home so mama could lve Ian with his other 2 cousins in the room to play (altho Ian did come and check on us once in a while)
