Ian's little dose of his version of 'ice-cream'

Finally got the 1st video up....did some videos previously but thot was quite complicated to blog it...anw here's a clip of how Ian enjoys his yogurt....guess this is his 'dose' of ice-cream since he doesn't quite know what is ice-cream tho he had some taste of it on and off =)

See how he licks clean his small cup of yogurt....well this is his needed dose to help in his digestion and we realised he loves food that are cold...so a cup of cold fresh milk is needed everyday when he wakes up....nope, no LS as yet tho he has it EVERYDAY!

Here's a clip of Ian enjoying his DVD and he's learning to do the actions as the kids are doing in the DVD...hhmm wonder when he can follow the steps taught in Sun sch...abit complicated tho!

We just love wkends!

Today, Ian woke up real early again, he was jumping on bed asking to go out....so weather was gd, we visited the pool again coz it has been rainy for some wks and we haven't been to the pool so we headed there after bf and soon in the car, Ian was sleepy and we intended him to zzz on the go today as we needed to hit the east in noon for small grp...so we decided to stretch his nap with a playground nearby and soon....
we were at Vivocity, Toys R Us coz its another place Ian would get perked up....haahahaa when he hears toys...there he was rushing to sit on the train and running ard to play with the many toys and well we did get him a bucket of wooden blocks to build coz lately he's been stacking blocks together and we thot the wooden blocks might be fun for him =)
And after his nap, we went Uncle Ben's place and Ian was happily having his 'snack buffet' which was laid out for him....hhmm we had a gd time of fellowship together and chatting abt how's our week been....glad Ian was cooperative except for moments when he was running ard for more 'food' hhmm and thereafter we went to po2's and ah gong's place for family dinner where he had more fun with his cousins =) just love such family time just that it was kindof short today coz we went later than usual after small grp

And we were home and here's the moment before the earth hour started with Ian stacking his toy blocks again....well later daddy switched off the lights and Ian felt weird playing in the dark ahhaa...well we soon all went to bed and to zzz land =) it was a tiring but fun Sat out for the whole family....we just love weekends =)

Ian takes the back seat now!

Since Ian's been at the car seat, he has always been taking the seat in front with daddy....maybe coz its easier to look after him for situations when either 1 of us is away for errand and in front he can have better view of things....however, lately he has been 'protesting' to sit in front...wonder issit coz he prefers sitting at the back with mama so last nite on way home from po2's place, we tried and he was fine at the back so this morning we put him behind alone while mama took back her front seat hahaa...well guess we shld be back to this sitting arrangement since ah maa's been nagging at us to have him behind

An unexpected PLEASANT morning out

Yeah its wkend already! Yah having an early wkend coz daddy is home today....well kindof unexpected coz Ian woke up early in the morning abt 5am+ and been busy following daddy ard the hse and he cried when daddy went out to work...only to realise daddy came back again 10 mins later coz he decided to go for doc appt for his toe....so mama and Ian headed to Safra pool while daddy went see doc...was quite a gd time with the boy at the pool coz hardly anyone was there...so its our PRIVATE pool hehee...
Tried out this new turtle float for Ian...he din want it initially but ard a ride ard, he loved sitting in it coz it gives him the freedom to go ard....so he was freely cruising ard....and mama din have to worry so much abt his safety hehee but of coz mama went into the pool with him, quite a nice weather to wade in the pool

Thereafter, while we waited for daddy we had our part 2 breakfast at the Ya Kun at the safra...was kindof cozy with the sofa....so Ian had his 1st ya kun cheese toast set....din know they had cheese toast...was quite diff coz cheese with kaya taste so DIFFERENT! And Ian was having fun dipping his toast with the half boil egg...well nice breakfast with my boy...guess after this unexpected morning out, mama resolved to have more of such day outs with this boy coz now he's bigger, its easier to give him instructions and we could do more activities since he can stretch nap better...well well we'll hit out to the pool whenever weather is gd then since Ian loves water fun =) and mama dun mind the time out from home! Guess it brings cheer to mama and Ian too

Ian loves feeding himself

Yeah for the past few wks...Ian has this habit of feeding himself (when we are out) be it rice, noodles, soup....coz it seems such an 'adult' thing to eat on ur own (as he can see pple ard eating by themselves) but it maybe abit chaotic for us coz it can be MESSY....esp so when we are at food court or restaurants coz it means more work for those pple....well so ah mu bought this BIG bib for Ian (also 1 for Joy jie2) and here's a shot of the boy before going for high tea with dayi and the rest =)
Well he did 'wear' that bib for a while but he felt 'restricted' coz his arms can't move as freely so he asked mama to remove it and continue his HIGH TEA buffet....we are all amazed how much he ate (see how he's eating the siew mai!) well well but sometimes it gives us more time coz we dun need to feed him and we can enjoy our own food...just that we gotta live with glares and more glares from working staff ard hahaa well just need to act oblivious to surroundings sometimes =)

Ian and his acrobatic ACT =p

On Sun nite, Ian was having some fun carrying his chairs ard....and while mama and daddy were caught unaware, he started doing some acrobatic act...well he has done some acts before but he has never felt so agonised doing this act hahaa....look at how he was crying for help but mama insisted on taking a pic...and daddy was still asking him for a CHEESE smile hahaa...

hope this boy will learn not to do it again since he felt real relieved when he was out of the awkward position coz he was then asking for mama to take some pics of him doing cheese smile sigh is this a boy thing to try such funny things???

Yeah.....Ian went for Sun Sch without mama and daddy!

Alot of pple asked if Ian ever attended any class/sch and mama's ans would be Yes/No, coz beginning this yr, we started bringing Ian to Sunday Sch since he has proven that he can't sit quietly throughout service anymore....and we also feel its time for him to learn some Sunday Sch stuff ie singing the praise songs etc....so its either mama/daddy bringing Ian there while the other person is in svc (at least dun waste 'resources' and the other person can get some spiritual intake hehee which mama has always yearn to have some moments worship God wo 'distractions' hhmm)

So on this combined svc Sunday, daddy brought Ian up to Sun Sch and viola, he just left daddy and joined the other kids with the games....what happened later, daddy has no idea coz he really 'left' Ian alone there after a teacher asked him to do so....so later mama gathered from ah mu that Ian was really following all the instructions and waiting (no snatching or pushing of pple) and when he had the chance to play the wooden block games (in the pic) he was quietly doing it by himself...until Auntie Helen came to 'look after' him, he was quietly enjoying the game alone....well well this sure brings joy to mama coz it means Ian's getting more independent (no more so clingy to mama) and maybe in future, both mama and daddy could attend svc together which hasn't happened for so so long coz daddy has always been 'held up by DUTIES!' Anw, just so glad by this progress in Ian....so no need worry abt him getting to sch in future hahaa or mabbe he just loves playing w/o mama CONTROLLING him hheee

Cut cut cut!

For some reasons, Ian loves 'cooking' and cutting....since he was really young he has enjoyed his cooking set and whenever he chances upon other kids' cooking set, he sure won't take his eyes off from it and wanna have a hand in it....and his fav is the KNIFE! Yes, sometimes he can be holding his toy knife walking ard the house...and even when mama is preparing him to go out, he would insist on holding it....sigh there was once we came back home from his cousins' place with a toy knife in his hand (while he was seated in the pram) so imagine what passerbys might think what we educate our son hahaaa

so lately, he has been cutting apples at po2's place (with those disposable ones!) and he managed to cut many pieces so when he came home, he tried cutting his toy fruits hahaa and asked mama why they can't be cut...so when mama chanced upon those toy fruits that can be cut (ie those with fruit in halves with velcro sticking the 2 halves together, mama knew she had to buy for Ian) and true enough, that toy entertained him for the whole day coz he was so thrilled with the 'cutting' thru the velcro (actually the sound made seems quite real hahaa) and he was grinning throughout his cutting....well went back Daiso to see if there are more fruits (coz we only got apple and grape for him) but its all sold out....hahaa are there kids who are so much into cutting fruit like Ian ard???

Cheers to Ian's 'art' corner =)

hhmm the corner has always been there but lately Ian has been more keen in doddling so with Christine's inspiration, mama 're-started' doing some drawing with Ian...he's been real excited to move on to drawing on papers and with colour pencils in his hand....see how he posed the pic to show his excitement coz when daddy is back home, he would pull daddy to his corner to ask him to 'zor' (sit down) to join him in drawing....well its abit of 'mess' to us hahaa but will keep it to see his 'progress'....last week when we were at Bird Park...the parrots weren't 'drawing' that fantastic but their art pieces could be 'sold' so so guess not too bad for Ian huh....will get more 'tools' to make it more complete =) but its gd to see how the boy can quietly sit there and doddle on his own (tho mama must join in the drawing as well...so got company!)

Ian's figuring out his fingers!

Nay its not Christmas again....just that Sun mama saw Ian was figuring out his fingers to form a triangle in the car...and on Mon he was doing it again and when mama wanna capture the shot, he asked to put on the Christmas hat and cheese with it...anw, realised he's getting interested playing with his fingers as in trying to form shapes with it....and he was happy today to able to do 'thumbs up!' and was trying v hard to do the 'V' sign....this boy is sure growing and figuring out things on his own...

A pleasant visit by Auntie Christine!

Well the last mama could rem Auntie Christine dropping by to visit Ian was when he was barely 6 mths old and he was zzz most of the time....and yest we were glad to have her at our place (and also to get mama's lunch heee) coz when Ian woke up(from his nap), he realised there was a visitor....he was relatively shy at 1st coz din recognise the visitor....took some time to warm up and soon he was happily doddling with Auntie Christine and were having a whale of time having 'art classes' hahaa so mama can try to hone Ian's love for art...well picked some pointers from the Art trained old pal and sure won't mind more of such visits in future (hahahaa) after her big day is over....counting down for you, pal =)

Today, mama was showing Ian some pics on the camera and when he saw this pic...he immed exclaimed 'Auntie!'....guess Auntie Christine left a deep impression on the boy hahaa except he gotta learn to call Auntie Christine....and hope he rems u the next time u drop by =)

Blessed Birthday to Po2!

Yes, its Ian's dear Po2's bday (just a couple of days after Ian's bday) and here's the boy so excited to sit on po2's lap just coz he could be close to the candle...he was 'protecting' the flame from the wind...we intended a family picnic at the Marina Barrage but the weather turned rainy so we made alternative plan to go dayi's oldham hall for some bday celeb...it was a nice corner where we could enjoy all the home cooked food and enjoy family warmth! We had a stack of cupcakes for the bday cake!
Here's the great family at the party....we had so much fun there coz there were fishes at the pond nearby to entertain the kids and space for the kids to run ard....yes, Ian was having his runs and chases ard the place and he was in fact having gd time with dayi, Auntie Lorraine, jiu2 whom he hardly meets but yet misses....Auntie Lorraine was teaching him some fish song and he was still humming as mama carries him onto the car....just love such family time coz there are so many pple to help look after Ian and at such times, he is more willing to walk hahaha

We had the tea cum dinner party and weather looks better so we headed to SBG and we are in time for some symphony...coz usually it takes place on Sun evening but we have to be at ah maa's place so we were quite glad to make it this time....Ian was in fact imitating the conductor (or maybe Auntie Lorr) and happily enjoying the symphony....well it makes mama recalls of those days when she had luxury of having the radio on during work....and it was Gold 90 or class 95 before having Ian...and after that it was Symphony 92.4 during the workday coz they said classical music is gd for babies....hahaha wonder if it will have any effect on Ian...coz mama din quite know how to appreciate the music but it sure soothes alot more than those loud music tho mama misses those Gold 90 music those days ahhaa

Here's the family in Liverpool wear since they won last nite....been wanting to wear this same wear just that told daddy to wear only when Liverpool won a match and they did last nite...so here we are at the pond at the SBG where we saw many hungry fishes but we din bring any bread for them hhhmm the kids were asking to feed them...Ian was saying 'Throw!' coz he rems those times he came to feed the fishes! Just enjoyed this wkend so so much with our family dearest!

A whole day spent at the Jurong Bird Park

Thanks to daddy we managed to go to the Bird Park on Sat(v touristy coz Mon we went zoo and he got the pass for bird park on Sat so twice a wk!) coz of his company's welfare benefit...hhmm so we were glad it was sunny all day at Jurong (yah heard was heavy downpour in the north!) and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly coz the kids napped on the go and it was the 1st time we din have to rush home for nap....here's the itinerary =) here's daddy with Ian at the World of darkness ie owls!

We went for 3 bird shows actually....1st was at the Fuji Hawk walk and 2nd at Pools amphi (with birds and buddies show) and 3rd was the Parrot show (which Ian was sound asleep on daddy's shoulders) and here's the boy posing a pic at the amphi! Boy, he was enjoying food during the show...wondering if the birds will fly over hhee

Here's chit chat with the hornbill...we came upclose and personal....except we weren't keen to hear the commentary coz the kids cant stay so quiet there huh

This was mama's fav at the Lory Loft coz we had this cup of feed for the birds....ah mu thot the kids will love the feed and ended up we (the adults) were the ones feeding....and the kids were terrified...maybe coz of the sharp screeching sounds they make....but they sure SWARM to our cup of feed (ehheee even to ah mu's hair!!)

Daddy tried to carry Ian on this 'kangaroo' bag and he was still for some gd time until he din wanna be strapped in there....but this is sure gd to travel with =)

We were the pelican's feeding and quite funny looking birds with flapping 'throats' there but was quite gd to see how they gobble up fishes man!!

We thot the wet and dry playground could be a little like the zoo but the wet part was closed...what a pity coz weather was so so gd and we brought the swim gear for the kids...well gd that we din tell them beforehand...and they enjoyed themselves at the playground...here's the 3 kids on the dinosaur!

We ended with the penguin feeding and Ian was eating there again (coz we din have proper lunch as we had lunch the go with buns for the kids while we adults din eat any coz it was too too hot to feel hungry) but we were glad to come this Penguin Expedition coz it is much much cooler than the outdoors....so the kids were quite glad there before the crowd came in

And we ended with an outdoor visit to the crane before we set off for a yummy early dinner at the Jurong Hill (the food is gd there!) and we couldn't stop thanking God for the gd weather (after we had a wet time at the zoo) coz it was all our prayer the previous nite to have a gd day at the Bird Park....coz it was already an answered prayer that daddy got the pass...well this is 1st time we saw so many kinds of birds....from vultures, eagles, hawks to small ones like parrot, macaw, cockatoos....ostrich, flamingo, crane....Ian's a bird lover but think now his learning horizon goes beyond just pigeons on the street....he must be wowed by the BIGness of some birds we see at the show and also the feeding of the lories hehee well now that we've kids, we are more into visiting such touristy places but its all thanks to daddy's company hahaa....Ian's barely 2 and he has came bird park more than the times we have visited in our lives already hahaa....well some more visits in mths to come, we guess esp with the kids getting bigger they shld enjoy it more!

Ian turns 2!

On the special day, we all went out as a family for the bday bash for the little boy...he was most excited to see daddy still at home and wonder if he knows what is bday coz the nite before we told him its his bday the next day! Anyway on this day, he actually choose the shoes he wanted to wear....and he even ordered daddy to wear his usual sandals tho daddy was already prep to wear another pair...hhmm this bday boy sure know how to order

He was excited when we reached the zoo....guess he was excited to see many moving animals and we thot the feeding of the kangaroos was fun...we were swarmed by the roos...never quite had this feeding experience even tho been to Aust so many times...Ian was keen to feed them tho their tongues were slimy....then we quickly headed to the water park as the cloudly sky looks threatening....Ian was so so excited to see the water play....but the rain came real soon...he was still hoping that the rain will stop while we took shelter at the KFC

He had his 1st chicky meal...errr abit only coz we ate most of it only to give him the toy...and when gong2 offered to get him Ben and Jerry's ice-cream...he declined hahaa what a boy and later chose a cup of healthy fruit...so glad he made the choice instead of the ice-cream and tempting cakes!

We dropped by to visit the cousins and had some fun there with them...then we proceeded for a dinner and got Ian some toys (which mama intended to get and finally found them at an unexpected place) and we had a bday celeb back home...it was just a simple slice of choc chip cake but sure to cheer this boy...this time he was back to his usual self blowing and wanting to cut the cake...its his 3rd time for his 2nd bday and guess he sure wants to have more...1 yr later, little one!

Happy Birthday, Ian!

On this special day, we just wanna thank God for this addition to our family...some wks back, mama shared with the sgm how God led us thru the delivery (coz its always been such a fear to all preggy ladies) but our God is so gd, He led us thru smoothly (at least mama doesn't have any delivery fear of all the labour pains and all hahaa) and looking back, Ian has grown so much....from a sleepy baby (who can sleep 3/4 of a day) to one who can sometimes just zzz less than 10 hrs (on those special days) and spend the other time of the day busily playing ard...we were abit worried abt his walking late but now we see a boy walking steadily on his own...some times, such human worries are really so shortsighted...coz we shld know we have a Jehovah Jireh who provides

Ian has added so much joy and love in our family....recent weeks, he has learnt to say the bedtime prayer with mama and daddy and he made requests to pray for who who who....and will also end off the pray with a loud AMEN....thereafter giving mama and daddy wet gdnite kiss...our hearts just warmed with the kiss he lavishes on us (coz his kisses are so precious he doesn't give anyone else hehe)

We appreciate him for being so adaptable such that he could stay over po2's place (he's been staying there almost wkly for the past 9 mths) and say Bye to mama when she had to go off....that makes our lives alot easier and he brings so much joy to the old folks too tho mama and daddy miss him alot back home but we know he's in gd care and this 'absence' will make us love him more

Now that Ian is turning 2, we cannot express more gratitude to God for giving us this little gift but to praise Him (just as Ian's name is Song-En) we just wanna thank God for this bundle of joy that is brought to us and we will with God's help, continue to bring this boy to become a man after God's heart

Sometime ago, mama did the photoshop on Ian's past pics....and indeed with God's help, Ian's grown so so much over the past 2 yrs

Happy 2nd Birthday to mama and daddy's precious gem....

Ian's bday celeb with Iong family

The sun remained to be out after the kids' nap so we headed for a nice pool fun before adjourning to ah maa's place....here the 3 kids with their watering can and bucket of water....they were just happily playing in the pool and din quite wanna go off....well its quite rare to see the sun out for so long coz it's been quite rainy these weeks so we haven't been out in the pool for some wks
Then we had a mini bday celeb for ian.....din manage to capture a nice shot of him with the cake coz all the kids were so excited and started crowding the table....only HL gu2 managed to ask mama and daddy to go in so she could capture a family shot...only that Ian was so engrossed cutting his cake, he din even look up hhaaa

Ian's bday celeb with the Chng family

After a tiring 'workout' at the playground in the morning, Ian was sound asleep till the time we were supp to go po2 and gong2's place for dinner....so mama just told Ian 'wakie wakie' we going for bday party.....and he was immed awake....mama was singing him the bday song and the boy was practising the blowing of candles...hahaa for the endless times, he's been blowing candles so he was looking fwd to blowing candles again....

we contemplated whether to have a party for this boy and ended not having coz we din get a venue and mama wasn't too keen to open the hse for party (since the last we had was his baby shower) so we thot of going away for a short trip but we decided we shall just spend the bday with the family....so its coz of you, we are staying for and mama insisted on a pic of Ian with everyone so we can thank you all for being the someone special in this little boy's life! Tho it meant alot of perspiration for the boy, who turned out not so keen to blow the candles and cut the cake coz he was too hot (as the fan was away from him so as not to blow out the candles haha)
Thanks to po2 who ever show so much care and love for Ian coz whenever Ian stays over, she would make sure the little boy is totally well taken care of, guess the camping over at po2's place every week sure gives mama more breather space to do what she wants to do knowing that Ian is in gd care under po2.....we are sure the grandma and boy's relationship will continue to be strong

Thanks to gong2 and po2 who made the extra effort in getting the cake from Secret Recipe from JB even as we thot of just getting BS cake hahaa....ya it was sure a showering of love upon this little boy from their ever dear grandparents who are so thrilled by Ian's little actions each time he camps over their place....and its just so special to have them as grandparents...ever so doting but yet disciplining when they ought to
And to the special dayi in Ian's life...thanks for making the effort in rushing back to celeb with the boy even tho u were real busy at the hostel and all....it's a wonder how the boy's eyes lit whenever he sees u and wanting a hug from you....you have sure a special place in this boy's heart and we pray this place will grow even as the boy grows up and truly you are the one and only DAYI he adores, no other person can replace you in his life
For the 2 little ones who almost seemed like Ian's siblings hahaa....we are mostly seen together with the family....till Ian can always be asking for jie2 even when at his night prayer....there's just so much fun and laughter when the threesome comes together and thanks for ah mu and ah bah for sharing lives with our family which makes the complex relationship more closely knitted....just so much heartfelt thanks that cannot be expressed in words but hope the boy's gratitude will just grow even as he grows up

For the ever adoring jiu2 and jiumu who bring so much fun into the kid's life.....we are just glad to have you both to guide the boy along in life....Ian has always been having you both in his thots...whenever he sees pics, he will keep asking for jiu2....we always wonder why jiu2 was 1 of the 1st names he picked up since young...it's just so amazing how the relationship grew so fast within such short span of time but he just wants more of you both....the boy's eyes just sparkle when he sees jiumu and a swing is sure needed from you....pretty sure this love between u both and Ian is sure to grow with each adding yr

And here's the little boy blowing out the 2 little candles on his bday cake, wishing him blessing from God and growing to be a more Christlike boy (means no terrible two and any tandrum huh hehe)

Here's mummy cutting the cake for Ian coz he was totally overwhelmed by all the phototaking with him as if he was the celebrity....heheee well he could surely blow out more candles in the next 2 days so the phototaking with everyone was sure worth it but the boy obliged to it even tho he was distracted by the melting candles....he still said Cheese with each shot =)

And the last of all, the opening of presents was the 'highlight' of the day (instead of the cake) coz the 2 other cousins were helping him to rip open the presents ahhaa...and then Ian was checking if the presents were his...hhmm thanks to all for the love and presents...this little boy cant say his heartfelt thanks yet but here's mama doing on his behalf...this was surely more worth than any family trip we could plan for coz all the love and care was so so present at this simple bday celeb for this boy....these shots are memories kept in his heart that he remembers the family love is the foundation for his growing up yrs...thanks for making this day so so special and unforgetable for this boy...even on the way home, he was still giggling and laughing hahaaa

Ian's 1st visit to an indoor playground

Yah been hearing so much abt indoor playground, this is Ian's 1st visit to 1 (also ours v 1st time) coz passed by the downtown east one before but it seems so dark and so rowdy inside but well today we headed to the Turf City's Little Fidgets coz it was bad weather outside and thot the kids could have some fun...it was a nice pl except for the rowdy kids still hahaa
Here's Ian with the colourful balls....never did quite think it was hygenic coz some kids might be sick and all but this place has an interesting 'ball washer' whereby the kids can help to throw in the balls thru a machine that sucks the balls to wash and out comes the 'clean' balls...hahaa wonder if all are that clean....another Ian just loves throwing them....but not at the kids, pls...ooppss Ian became 1 of the rowdy kids liao

Here are the 3 kids in their 'dream' cars hahaa....except we weren't sure why Ian wasn't keen on the blue car (which is his usual fav colour) perhaps he knows it would pour so better get a car with the roof top?? hahaa anw the little tikes cars look interesting and sometimes mama wonder if it's useful to buy these expensive cars but today it proven 'useless' hahaa coz nothing much to do but for the adults to push them....hhaaa why waste money on things that would waste our 'effort' (ie in pushing the car I mean)

So much abt the playground....its alot of crawling and sliding for the kids...except that we adults have to go thru the crawling as well (alot of pain on our knees huh) coz the kids will want u to tag along where they go....Ian's yet in the explorative mode yet so we shall visit the playground only sometime later but its not so cheap for kids who are above 2yo so it means its more ex to bring Ian after he turns 2 hahaa...shall see if Ian gets better in his 'exploring' the next time we visit an indoor playground again
