Ian fell sick for half of today

hhm for these 2 yrs+, mama has never been worried abt Ian getting sick (apart when the time he got jaundice and all) coz this boy has never liked medicine (guess all kids dun like) but if we force it upon him, he will throw up all that he has taken so dunno whether its gd that he doesn't like medicine so we gave up seeing doc when he's down with flu or cough coz he will recover v v soon (yes, he's one who recovers fast on his own)

So today, after waking up seeing him wanting to throw up after a cry, mama thot he was just choked by phlegm or something so gave him fresh milk when he asked (which is his usual routine) but soon after he threw up the whole cup of milk (gd thing mama had a bowl to contain all) and he looked rather pale there after....sms daddy but he could not come back, wanted to take cab to PD but it looks as if there were dark clouds hovering, decided to call dayi coz rem she's off that day and she had forrester with her....

So thankful it happened today when there was help available coz mama would have panicked more coz it has never happened that Ian was so sick....but while waiting for dayi, this boy looks ok again, he was running ard and checking out birds and cats downstairs our pl (as usual) and was happy to meet dayi. We pre-empt him of seeing doc (coz he was busy playing with weighing scale while waiting at the clinic) and dr phang said was coz of intestinal virus so he threw up...well we still dunno what triggered that but he took sipositrium (given by the nurse) and he shld be fine with monitoring and giving pedialyte (freezer pop) after half hr....

we then took car home but Ian threw up after the ride, ah mu thinks its coz of the car journey so we went home to let him rest....he seemed fine tho empty stomach....the most trying part was feeding him the medicine...gd thing, dayi was there to help and coax him to take med....after his milk and nap, he looked real gd and asked for food....he took the orange pedialyte (coz he thot was orange juice) but gd to replenish his loss of water and asked for more food

he looked fine running ard and playing with his cousins during tea time and he was eating well...just so glad the 'sick' episode ended and hope it will never return to visit us again coz it is not every time its so timely we get help so easily.....wonder issit coz he took the rotavirus vaccine that made the whole episode not so serious?? Whatever, we are just so thankful the boy recovered so so fast (for a boy who is hardly bothered by illness, it did bother mama today sigh)

Up and down the stairs

Today, daddy needed to go SingPost so here we are at a Post office past its opening hrs....while daddy pays his bills, here's the little one trying to go up and down the stairs ON HIS OWN....well he has always loved playing with stairs and today is the 1st time mama sees him wanting to go up and down on his own...looks quite dangerous when he's going down coz if he loses his balance he might just fall fwd...well a time to 'thrill' him while waiting for daddy...see how he 'rejoices' when he got up the stairs and down the stairs as well (of coz with mama cheering him)

Blow blow bubbles....

on a gloomy Mon noon, after Ian had a nice long nap then mama decided to get out of house coz it was boring back home.....so when mama asked if Ian wanna go for a walk, he immediately jumped up and said 'Yeah!' hhmm wonder whether who finds it more boring back home...anyway the condition was for him to walk on his own and he agreed....well for our estate its fine coz there's lot of walking space wo meeting the main road....so he could run and jump all he liked....guess with the water puddles everywhere he knew he could not get near the playground....so he was happy mama fished out the blowing bubbles...coz he has been asking for it for some time since the 1st and only time we had blowing bubbles...somehow he associated it with daddy coz sometimes he can wake up from nap and asked for daddy and blowing bubbles, guess daddy was the one doing it the last time and perhaps he recalled it...well this time he was doing it ALONE....holding the container and blowing bubbles and bursting them as well so quite multi task....just enjoyed the time out of home =)

Ian's 1st trekking trip

After much apprehension whether Ian could trek, we went along with ah mu's fam today to Bt Timah Hill.....this boy hasn't been able to walk v long distance on his own and today, getting up from the wrong side of the bed, the boy just din want to walk....he was asking to be carried by daddy at the onstart when he saw the many monkeys and the upslope of the hill

well it was a nice nature walk for the rest of us....just keeping track to see when Ian would be up to it to join us in the trekking trip...was toying with the idea of driving ah bah's car when he's on biz trip but well that gotta wait till Ian shows us that he is capable to walk on his own that the bt timah trekking trip will be on....we will be back again =) for the time being, its training of daddy's muscles =p

but today brought back alot of memories for mama coz there was once mama had company's family day there and it poured when we were on the way up to the summit....well time flies, its been for some gd yrs already and those days just feel so much fitter hahaaa and now have to lug a kid up the hill is no joke =p

It's been 2 yrs.....

yes....2 long yrs of blogging and its interesting to record all the 'happenings' of Ian...when he 1st took food, when he 1st crawled and had his 1st step...as I was looking thru the initial bloggings, it seemed so so long ago when I started this blog for Ian (initiated by daddy of course!) and how Ian has grown as I blogged (and of course looked after him hehee) here's a pic of him which mama was training him to sleep on his tummy (so he could sleep longer???) guess it was v much uncalled for coz its so NATURAL for Ian to sleep on his tummy...these days I still can't resist when I see him sleeping soundly on bed and wanna capture a shot of it coz it seems only in baby-hood that u capture shot of baby sleeping soundly but this boy sure looks different when he is sleeping....at least the whole world quietens down (and mama gets a world of silence! hehee) just that I couldn't find a latest shot of Ian sleeping on his tummy coz its so natural for him to flip down and zzz....sigh guess dun need much training that's his fav sleeping position =) that's why got a sharp head hahaa

Anw, just recall him of being baby gives the warmth in our hearts to see how God has brought him and us through this journey....wonder when Ian would be able to read this blog and really appreciate it (coz mama wished gong2 and po2 had done this website for her hehee) wonder if Ian would be so appreciative of it (well we are training him to be appreciative of things so hhmm) and sometimes mama wonders if this would be the BEST wedding gift for my son (if he gets married hahaaa) but then if I were the bride (I would freak out if my parents din do the same for me coz there will be so much memories for my spouse to savor on hehee) and ya there are pple who ask if there is backup to the website coz it would be wasted if the efforts are gone if ever the website 'close' down hhmm our backup would be an album of memories of what Ian has been thru for his life....ya mama collaged the pics according to activity in chronology...guess that's the 'collection' of a SAHM....well my son will grow up only this once and I am glad I was there when he did his 1stssss....when he 1st laughed, he 1st cried and he 1st fell and failed....this is the best gift I have for my son

Mother's day has just passed....I am glad I am able to enjoy this honour of being Ian's mum for the past 2 yrs....yes, sole attention for this boy and there are pple always asking (yes never fail!!) when's no. 2 is coming....we are praying for God's perfect timing (as He brought Ian into our lives at a perfect timing as well!) and shld he allow only 1 kid, we are glad He has given us this gift of parenthood....yes, so much thots abt this 2 yrs coz it has been a never thot of experience when we were pursuing our degree, our career, our status in the past....wonder how to put this across to pple esp my MIL who keeps asking for 2nd one....guess telling her all this will make her 'huh' hehee I am praying for an undivided attention if ever for my no. 2 and that's why this blog is kept specially for Ian....coz there the no. 2 shld have the same privilege of noting all the 1stssss as well....just some thots and rattling here heheee

Happy Mama's Day!!!

Well it's Mama's day coz when daddy asked Ian to tell mama 'Happy Mother's Day' he looked as if he din know what mother means...so decided to ask him call Happy Mama's day hahaaa coz he knows Happy Birthday so maybe that helps?? Anyway, we had a gd mama's day together as we went to Botanical Gardens after a heavy bf (coz Ian woke up real late so we gave church a miss esp there was no Sun Sch that day) so after feeding the fish (as usual) we went to try blowing the bubbles...and Ian was totally thrilled by it! Earlier mama was still abit apprehensive whether Ian could blow but well he did it real well and glad that entertained him and us....so we had a gd time bubble blowing in the garden

After his nap, we went to ah maa and ah gong's home for a mother's day potluck dinner...daddy steamed silver pompret for all and it was yummy esp for the kids hahaa for once, daddy cooked for all but well he did cooking for both potlucks on sat and sun =) thanks daddy!

Yeah, Ian's off from diapers =)

we started training him only 3 weeks ago, tho he showed signs he was ready, mama was abit apprehensive to try hahaha coz of lazy bones....needing to clean wet patches, needing to be on constant lookout and alot of nagging and reminder hahaa.....ya ya someday our boy gonna start and finally got on it and he was ok for 1st day, wet 3 times....2nd day dropped to 1 time coz mama gotta watch his timing but the toughest part was going out....by 2nd week, he was ready to be trained back home but he had the prob of wanting to sit to pee...sigh was just so so tough

so this week, mama started telling him boys stand to pee....heheee and he tried and was totally thrilled by it and since then he's been gd at it and even telling mama to sssh sshh and he did the same at po2's house so we finally got onto having him wear briefs when we are out and YEAHHHH he succeeded yesterday when we brought him to IMM tho it was a few times of wrong sshh sshh signs he said but he did it wo wetting any pants hahaa....and it was the 1st time mama brought him to the ladies' toilet and there was a boy's urinal and was so so glad coz the ladies' queue is so so long (as usual!) and he did it!!!

just so thankful the ordeal wasn't too tough for mama hehee....tho it might be a little late for some parents, well never too late for this mama hahaa coz always dun mind paying diapers for all the mess but to look back, could have saved some $$ hhehee well well the next hurdle is training him for zzz....so far he's gd at holding his pee for nap but still not daring to try coz his nap can be quite long and never know when he will wet the bed....for time being, he's off the diaper in the day =) Gd job, my son =)

2 celebrations in a day

early in the morning after the bf at our fav Tiong Bahru coffeeshop, we met up with po2, gong2, dayi, jiu2 and jiu mu for mother's day walk at MacRitchie (but mama couldn't join in coz of 'work' hhmm) so not too sure the exact activities that went on except that heard the kids had a run together and here's Ian trying his best to sprint forward (imitating jiu mu) and they had a gd time walking in the reservoir with the old folks =) heard Seth gor2 tried to outrun ah gong hhmm must be fun =)

In the noon, after the kids' nap we went to Auntie BH and Uncle SH's condo for a welcome party for Uncle Edwin and family who have just returned back to Spore for gd after staying in UK for some gd yrs....before the party, the kids had their fun in the pool....was a small devt and so the pool was quite cosy for the kids to have their own fun seems quite private pool

Here's Ian 'talking' to Auntie BH hehee...coz it was art and craft time for the kids but Ian had no idea what to do and here's the helpful auntie asking him what he wants so she can help him...well well ended up he din do much and yet he brought back a paper monkey puppet to play....well he had fun at the party coz he had so much ribena we ended changing endless of wet pants for him coz he drank too much hhmm gotta control his water intake since he's off from diapers

Here's the kids doing the craft work and Ian's the youngest of the whole lot of kids but he had a gd time 'chasing' after the bigger kids also coz he's 1 of the 2 boys who are there...so many jie2 ard but he was also busy with his party food....drumlet, sausage, egg and ribena....welcome Uncle Edwin's family back...din get a chance to take a pic with them but glad they are back in our midst so more SAHM in church now =)

Ian is 26 mths old....

Yah on this Mother's day wkend, our boy turns 26 mths old....he has become such an active and cheeky boy over the months....last week, mama started bringing Ian out on his playground fun and now he's better with walking long distance....and enjoying the slides on his own so mama just need to watch him....over the last stay at po2's place, po2 said Ian has become so cheeky that when he saw ah gong coming back home, he immediately went to sit on the usual seat ah gong sits to take off his shoes, and asked po2 to occupy the other seat so that ah gong has to sit on yet another seat...this boy has become such a cheeky boy that sometimes get himself trapped in chairs like that in the pic....wonder if this is coz he's a boy or what hhmm

but he has shown some relentless effort at the last sand play....when the sea water runs up the shore, he got a little frustrated with his sand-heap he has made was washed away....but yet after a little while later, he will continue to heap his pile of sand again but to be washed away by the sea water soon....well hope he will continue to perservere in what he does and never give up...tho now he can get a little independent of what he wants coz he has learnt to say I don't want....so now he has a mind on his own huh

Coz of our boy, we often are reminded to pray coz he will put the praying hands and ask to pray esp when we are in bed and we are reminded to say a family prayer before we go to bed, thanking God for yet seeing us thru another day and here we are thankful God has seen our boy thru yet another month =) and we are looking fwd to seeing more 'growing' up mths of our dear son =) and also happy to see him getting real close to his daddy esp the few occasions he had with his daddy only....he is always asking abt daddy when daddy's at work and often he will ask daddy to bring him see turtle and fish while saying Bye to mummy.....glad he has both his daddy and mummy close to his heart

Eating fruit with fork and spoon

Never seen anyone eating grape with fork and spoon....here's a video of the boy who insisted on using fork and spoon to eat his grapes....quite interesting to see how he managed to fork his grapes and munching happily with it =) wonder who taught him to use fork to eat his grapes hhmmm

Here's Ian at the same occasion picking his grapes with spoon and even 'offering' mama some grapes coz he thot mama dunno why 'hiding' behind the camera coz he had said 'cheese' so many times but yet mama got never ending photos to take hahaa....well gotcha, u are on video =)

We were at Rasa Sentosa's pool today....

We went into Sentosa again coz Ian woke up without enough sleep so we thot we could do activity that he liked and rush home for his early nap and Sentosa is close enough =) and we met ah mu's fam at the pool and Ian immediately had his bucket and joined the kids...finally capture a shot of them in the pool..dun they look real happy with the water fun???
Well that reminded of the last time we stayed at Rasa Sentosa when Ian was barely 5 mths+ (complimentary stay by dayi) and we took a dip in the pool....that time ah gong was trying to teach Ian to swim hahaaa....well ah gong taught we 3 gals to swim so am sure he could teach Ian tho jiu2 din make it hhmmm...that time Ian was a baby who was in need of feed every 3hrs+ and need his regular nap....how time flies, mama recalled how urgently we wanted the room so as to feed Ian but it was super long queue during the national day wkend....

And today, Ian's a boy who could wander on his own and was busily going ard with the buckets, chasing after gor2 and jie2 to pass their designated bucket....well well indeed time flies but note the similarity in the 2 pics?? Its the same swim suit hhaaa that's a lasting swim wear handed down from seth and its a little tight now (gotten a new suit but still too big) so still squeezing Ian into this hahaa....well wonder when the next trip to Rasa will be??? Its a nice place esp now Ian's bigger and could explore more places with little nap on the go =)

Walking in the sunshine....

Yea today has been such a hot day it seems like we were walking in the sunshine whole day...been looking fwd for this long wkend break maybe coz mama's been busy lately coz of exam fever hehee...anw this morning after a nice bf at Tiong Bahru (which we were surprised the coffee shop with our fav Niang Doufu and veg bee hoon wasn't crowded at all!) then we gate crash into Rasa Sentosa....coz its ah mu and ah bah's 10th wedding anniversary...so since weather was gd, thot it will be gd to bring Ian there for sand play and swim at the hotel's pool =)

Here's the endless digging he went on with the spades and the sifter....well he held real dear tight to these 3 items even when he was in the pool.....keep saying "Ian Ian's" indicating its HIS!!! Well he was pretty relentless in making a big pit on the sifter coz later we shifted him nearer the sea and the waves came and splash on his pit and he got frustrated hahaaa....but he continued again with his anger hhmm quite nice to see him dig and mama is not bothered abt getting dirty coz he will go for a quick wash and dip into the pool....hahaaa had so much fun in the pool din take any pics...it was fun just to be in the sunshine and enjoying time with the kids....oh ya prior to that we saw some small fishes in the sea...Seth spotted it and mama caught 1 fish for him wanting to capture a shot but the fish 'escaped' before we could take a pic...well was quite an experience

then we parted coz the kids went back to nap and Ian was to nap on the go...he was cooperative to sit in his pram quietly and when he's tired he could sleep....he took mama's instructions after we took train out to Vivo and went shopping and when Ian's asleep, we went Swensens earle for lunch coz the salad buffet is quite gd and we could chill out while the little one is asleep for a gd hr or so....well when he woke up, he was asking for food and he was happy with the corn nibs and some bread toast....well he had gd time eating as well tho not much

He really enjoyed the corn nibs...will try to upload the video of him trying to scoop the corn onto the spoon...somehow mama loves to capture video of his eating coz he looks so focused and not distracted at all and his expressions just makes mama wanna capture them heheee....just love such moments of my boy
And we took train back to Sentosa and Ian was cooperative in his pram today and look behind there are tons of pple on the bridge to the southernmost part of the continent of Asia....never ever saw this sight of Sentosa being flooded with pple and everyone just seems next to everyone...for that moment, swine flu just seems so alien and most foreign....and tourism in Spore seems doing pretty well as well huh

Here we are at the the animal encounter, we saw the last bit of the bird show and went for the close encounter with parrot but was too loud for Ian....then we joined in the highlight of the day, the multi animal show where we saw hawk, macaw, labrador dog, snake, monkey and was just so so entertaining coz we were seated on the 1st row and was upclose for Ian tho he got abit restless towards the end coz we realised he was hungry...din take much for lunch coz he missed much of the lunch mama and daddy shared =p but the animal encounter was interesting...seems like a mini bird park show in Sentosa....pretty impressed by it

And again we took train out to Vivo and went Sakae for the nice dinner where Ian ate alot...hehee even daddy was surprised how much he could eat...here's a pic where Ian tries to mimic mama by bringing up his bowl coz he saw mama holding hers....well it was a nice dinner we shared coz not much people and Ian could feed himself so quite relaxed there =)

Then we headed back to Sentosa to send a cake to ah mu and ah ba for their anniversary....here's Ian with our much appreciated mode of tpt for the day (coz its real convenient for us to go in and out of Sentosa...of coz with compliments to the Maybank cc we have) and Ian had some gd time with his cousins before we picked our way and headed home.....well Happy May day and esp to ah mu and ah ba....wishing u both more 10 blissful yrs of marriage and we are truly blessed by your God-centered marriage =) continue to share this joy with others and us too!
