Ian's 'NEW' toy....

Well we have this practice of keeping new toys (either Bday or Christmas) and giving it to the boy at a later date (so that he can enjoy each toy slowly but also that it gives mama some relief when Ian's bored of his toys and the new toy can keep him busy for some time) so it has been some gd months before Ian had a new toy....the Disney Megablok set was tucked in the play room's corner for some gd mths (hhmm it was his 1st bday present from us) and on this day, he actually finally noticed it and started requesting to open it...well guess it's time for him to play with the toy....so he was patient waiting for mama to open each 'compartment' yyaaa coz it was compartmentalized according to the 4 seasons....and each character was symbolizing a season...

Ian din have enough time to play with them coz it was his nap time soon....he actually request to zzz in the playroom hhmm guess how much he wanted to be near his new toy.....then mama allowed him to bring in the 4 characters on bed (only for today) and see how the boy was holding them so closely to sleep and finally let go only when he was in deep zzz....he woke up after 1h+ and wanted to play but mama knew he din have enough zzzz so made him zzz more and he did...but waking up another hr later asking to play with them...guess its gd to give toys once in a while so he would appreciate each toy more huh hehee

Uncle Winston came to cook dinner for us today!

Uncle Winston is back for his vacation from Edinburgh and we were glad to have him over at our place to cook (as well as teach mama to cook) some dishes he learnt over at Scotland! It was some simple cooking but yet some dishes which we could pay alot eating outside =p so time to save some $$ and cook back home!
It was Tamago (the egg isn't so easy to cook coz u gotta cook layer by layer well it's not kindof simple dish which mama would choose to cook having to entertain Ian at the same time!) and Oyako don (mama's fav at Jap restaurant and now knowing how easy it's to cook, guess we won't pay to eat at the resturant) and Coca Cola chicken wings (din know HK students used Coke to cook the chicken but it tasted gd and its real simple to cook....hahaha so Ian and daddy gonna eat more of this dish which mama has learnt =)

It was a gd time catching up with Uncle Winston coz we hardly get much time talking to him in church...the kids love playing with him after the dinner...even Ian was asking for Uncle after he has left and he was saying 'Nice dinner!' coz Ian really finished his bowl of Oyako don real clean that means the food is yummy! Guess mama could do it more often since this is the only time Ian will take onions and its not hot at all after frying it! Mama's also glad she could be relieved of a nite of cooking hahaa and could learn at the same time =) Thanks Uncle Winston....he says he will come to teach how to cook chicken rice someday....we are waiting =) but we are glad to have your company tonite! Just makes a nite somewhat different!

An unexpected MONDAY out =)

Daddy gave us a surprise when we heard the door knob turning at 8am....coz daddy who had gone work earlier came back....coz he din have enough sleep the previous day as such took lve for Monday...YEAH! it meant we could go out....so off we went to IMM (of coz jio-ed ah mu and fam coz seth gor2 is on hols!) and we were so early at the mall that the kids could run ard and even play hopscotch at the usually busy area...dun they look like they are on some medal award platform?? haha
Here is a shot with daddy at the playground and the endless time daddy is being asked to carry Ian, Seth and Joy on the sliding bar

We had a gd lunch at Swensens hehee and in order to keep the kids awake on the way home, we had ice-cream on the go...it was interesting to see how the cup is passed from a kid to another, learning how to hog on the cup so the next person gotta wait and watch them eat....well well it was a nice day out coz in the noon, we went for a swim since the weather looked cloudy and din look like was gonna rain...well well how many unexpected Mondays could we have...so treasure it once we have it!
Well it seemed like a belated Father's day spent with daddy coz yest we din go out much except the hosp visit and the usual dinner at ah maa's pl....daddy never fails to think of the family when he's on lve...guess once we got Ian, daddy's lve just circles ard taking care of Ian and bringing him out for fun....guess Ian can't express much yet but he knows daddy has his heart for Ian and each morning wo fail, he will surely ask for daddy once he sees mama....guess its wkend that he knows daddy is home and wkday he knows daddy is at work...we just love the days when daddy is on leave =) Happy belated Father's day to daddy dearest!

A visit to see Aunty Lydia's baby...

Yeah Aunty Lydia delivered a baby gal and mama was again the one who sms-ed her as she showed signs of delivery hahaa (it was exactly 2 yrs ago when we exchanged sms before she delivered coz that time mama was still bf Ian so woke up in middle of nite...this time was coz mama woke up to charge her hp hhee) and we managed to be the 1st to visit her at MAH coz it was just timely after our church service....

well just glad everything went so smoothly for her since it's her 2nd and she's gonna enjoy her 16 weeks of 'leave' well its called motherhood leave hehee coz its her entitlement since she's gonna look after the newborn....will visit her again someday to check on the gal =)

Ian was excited to see the baby that he was doing the action of baby when mama told him we gonna visit a baby and the 1st instant he saw a man carrying a newborn, he immediately exclaimed "baby!" when we came out of the lift (so embarassed as if he has finally spotted 1!) hahaa alot of memories coz Ian was delivered there...it's been quite a while since we visited MAH well well will see when's the next time! But we shld see Aunty Lydia soon...have a gd break from work and be busy with bf again hahaa =)

Durian Durian....

Its durian season and Ian's having this durian craze....po2 brought him to buy durian on several occasions and insisted on eating when he came home...altho he can't eat much, still worried it might be too heaty for his little tummy but he has taken almost once every few days and he's ok...and now we are more easy abt him having durian (as compared to a yr ago) coz he can even self-eat the durian hahaa means we can enjoy while he's there figuring how to finish up the seed...just wonder how come this boy can just love durian so much (he's been asking for it since po2 1st bought it hhmmm) wonder issit coz mama ate too much durian cake when conceiving him hahaa coz some colleagues did warn me of that...or maybe generally kids love it coz it's sweet?? well gotta wait till the season is over before Ian's durian craze dies off!

Building blocks time

We got this set of building blocks for Ian....its quite gd coz its wooden and beside building, there's shape sorter for him to play....but quite amazed how persevering this boy is coz his blocks can fall and he will try to stack it up again....just enjoy such times when he's enjoying his play and not as impatient as mama hahaa....prob will give up after 2 tries?? he's getting better with each stacking session....well he could go on if not for the pee break he asked for at the end hahaa

Starting to do brain stimulating activity with Ian

hahaa what a title....well this week started somewhat more concrete stuff with Ian....been reading, singing, dancing and walking for wks and mths and finally got down to do some brain stimulating games with him coz got the resources and was glad the boy was gd at what mama asked him to look out for. Recently he has become more audio (as ah mu said) and he could follow quite well the instructions we give (as in he could repeat after us and say) and he has known quite alot of words, animals, numbers, fruits, shapes etc...so this sticker book came timely (as usual kids love sticker) but instead of just sticking everywhere, found this book that made him look for the needed sticker to stick on the correct place (to match and make sure he sticked on the correct space required quite abit of brain focus) and today was the 2nd try and he did really well hhhmm see the video clip, he can even 'YEAH' after he got the correct one....just glad we could do more at home...guess he found the usual toys are quite bored after some time....can't wait for him to play the memory game to build it up hahaaa...guess that's the perk for mama coz then can relax at the side =)

Dancing boy

Ya for the recent wks, Ian's into dancing non-stop, he used to dance once in a while but now he found the thrill of having the musical chair on and he will keep on jumping and dancing, its quite funny to see his version of dance...well its at such age, you dun have much worries and everyday is play and fun time huh =p

We attended mama's best pal's wedding!

Guess Aunty Jinru has been mama's best old pal coz we went thru sec sch, JC and uni together and still v much in touch now even tho we are leading our diff lives....just glad she has tied the knot with Uncle Desmond and we were there at Singapore Art Museum for their matrimonial bash (no surprise coz both of them met in the art sch!) We were early and managed to capture a privilege shot with them (before the crowd came in!)
Well mama met some of her sec sch mates but so pai seh couldn't quite rem their names tho they rem mama's hahaa....hhmm just some casual catching up its been YEARS....well thot will meet Aunty Huiyu (and her boy) and Aunty Xiuping (with her 2 kids) but they din turn up

Glad Aunty Lydia made it hahaa coz her due date is really near and she din know whether she could make it (coz it could be anytime since its her 2nd one!) so was quite nice for the 2 boys to run ard and Ian to share biscuits with Javier didi....

Well they just enjoyed sitting by the pillar and share biscuit and joy together....guess we shld meet Aunty Lydia and family soon when she delivers! Just so excited for her tho we know she will be nervous how it will go but we are sure its gonna be smooth! Dun worry....just prep to see the pretty little mei2! Counting down with you!
For Aunty Jinru and Uncle Desmond, have a blessed marriage and do hope to meet you both more often =) and hopefully 1 little one for Ian to be playmate with =)

Ian attends his 1st bday party at the Macs

Guess when we all were younger, its always a dream for kids to attend parties at Macs coz of the food and fun....well Ian gets to attend Jayla's bday today but he seems a little too young to 'enjoy' coz the games seem abit alien hahaa well its a gd time to gather with his cousins...see how the little ones formed a chain to play...wonder what play they are thinking of
Then it was makan time...hhmm Ian din kindof sit there quietly wondering if he dunno what to do with the food coz he already had his round of dinner (coz felt he might not be too used to Macs) or was he scared coz of all the parents standing there and checking out their kids hheee... here's him with Manfred....Ian only gulped down his cup of milo out of the his whole happy meal

Next was the games time....it was passing parcel...ended up the mamas were there to 'assist' coz some of the kids were hogging onto the parcel prehaps thinking it was theirs....guess they dunno the concept of passing parcel yet hahaa
And of course the finale was the cake cutting....everyone was excited to gather ard the bday gal and give her their well wishes....hoping Jayla will grow up happy and blessed! Happy bday!

Exploring the East with the Chng Clan!

Coz of a bday party we gotta attend tonite so we changed the usual dinner with Chng clan to a morning out in the Pasir Ris park (planned by jiu2 and jiumu since they know the east better) so here are the kids having fun in the playground....Ian had endless up down this short slide
He took some courage to explore this long twirly windy slide which he claimed was hot so din want to have more tries after once! His only time he did it was with much motivation from all of us!!

Here's his fave 'see-saw' which he did the sound 'piong piong' each time he went up down...well this required the muscle strength from jiu2 and jiumu as the kids did nothing but just sit there and enjoy the bouncy motion =p

Here's the 'bridge' in the park....Ian din quite balance well the 1st time he was on it but soon he was used to the bridge flapping up down and insisted to take another round of walk with Aunty Lorr...wonder who is the one exercising huh

And the 2 little ones on the springy fire engine there (as spring motion was by ah baa) but the 2 kids just love pretending to drive the fire engine =) steering the wheel while holding on tight to prevent falling off the engine car =)

Here's Ian on the swing with daddy....guess we older 'kids' wanted to try on the swing which has been v much missed at the new playgrounds these days so we had our share too =p

And Ian tried sitting on Aunty Lorr's lap to enjoy the little breeze on the swing =) just love such family time when there are so much help to look after the kids hehehe

Then we proceeded to jiu2 and jiumu's home and here are the kids playing with jiu-mu's toys and they were happily pretending tea play (till it took us some time to coax them to have their brunch) but well just so nice to see how the kids enjoy the play at their place =)

And Aunty Lorr even had the ice-cream cone set which Ian loved to pretend having an ice-cream cone in his hand....here's Ian with dayi 'sharing' an ice-cream cone hahaa doesn't it look real?? But then again looks abit like microphone hehee

Just loved this pic as Aunty Lorr's sis, Janice came by to play with the kids and see how Joy is wearing the bear's shades and Ian wearing the bear's cap, they ripped the accessories off from the poor bear hehee and then Ian's hugging the bear so tightly!!! Well well it was a different time out from the usual dinner time at po2 and gong2's place but we sure enjoyed the brunch we shared and the morning fun we had (before the rain came!!) looking fwd more of such family fun time =)

Happy birthday to ah baa!!!

Last Sat, we celebrated ah baa's bday at po2's place and this boy just went straight to the cake and was happily sitting on ah baa and here's the pic, don't Ian look like part of the family?? well guess we are so close to the family that Ian will always look for ah baa, ah mu, gor2 and jie2 even late in bed....and Ian has this funny serious look whenever carried or 'caught' by ah baa...well somehow he knew this man needed to be given the serious respect hahaa....on such a special day, just wanna wish ah baa a blessed birthday and continue to be the respectful ah baa to Ian =)

Ian's been having 'weekly camp' for a year

Since last yr coming back from church camp and Ian's sleeping thru the nite so po2 asked to have Ian to stay over at her pl in the mid week. The 1st time was a 3D3N camp (coz jiu2 fetched Ian over on a tue nite) and that v 2 nites we could hardly sleep soundly coz the little one missing from home seems real weird....tho it was time off for mama, somehow things seem a little different...but mama had plenty of time to clean the room (ya something that was to be accomplished for a long time but with Ian ard it proved to be tough) and also to do her hair hahaa....time flies, its been a yr since Ian started staying over at po2's pl but it never made 1 time easier than before....guess mama still misses the little one in bed (ya could hardly sleep in when he's not in....such irony ahhaa)

But truly glad Ian's independent and has adapted so well with the staying over coz now with every Wed morning waking up, he knew it was going po2's place when he's put into the pram and taking the MRT route makes the whole routine sets in...when its time for mama to go, he would give his best wave and flying kiss for mama (altho it makes mama wonder if he ever misses them) but we know he's in gd hands and wanna thank po2 who ever willingly take him to places ard her place and buy food that he loves and plays toys as he wishes....just so thankful for the weekly 'time-off' mama could enjoy (be it shopping, gym or meet up with friends) and surely hope Ian would grow up closer and more appreciative of the grandparents coz as much as he brought so much joy to the folks, Ian could also feel the love and care given by them (as well as discipline when needed huh)

He was such a crawling toddler when he 1st stayed over busy himself with picking things off the ground till today, a toddler who busy himself with 'chores' ard the house like watering the plants for po2 (his fav pastime coz there isn't any plant back our home hehee) much memories mama could not capture every moment but will snap here and there so that he can relive the memories when he's older =) such precious moments are worth remembering =)

Ian turns 27 mths old

This past mth has been 'eventful' mth for Ian coz he had abit of 'mishaps' for the past weeks...1st was the throwing up episode and last Sun was our 1st experience bringing him to A&E coz he seems to have (or we seem to have) twisted his elbow so was kindof an experience for the usual bubbly boy to be quiet on the 2 occasions but he soon bounced back to his usual self soon after the 'mishap'...just praying for more healthy mths and yrs ahead =)

Well he's a boy who loves chicken drumstick....well he usually calls it chicken but not all parts of chicken as we have tried....coz gave him some slab of breastmeat and he hardly can chew much...well guess he's into drumstick since he was really young (ya the usual 1 yo game we played and he chose the drumstick, I think! or was it the credit card??)
Yest, Ian had a sleepover at his cousins place coz dayi took 1/2 day and was bringing the kids out in the noon so mama thot might as well go over ah mu's place in the morning and Ian could nap there...he took some time to doze off coz of the new environment (he was the last to get to zzz) but glad he managed it quite well tho mama wasn't in the room at all, he was playing tricks with his cousins at 1st but succumb to his tired eyelids after seeing his cousins falling asleep 1 by 1...guess we could have more of such sleepover some days coz he slept pretty well there except he rolled off the bed once (guess too used to BIG beds already arrgghh)

Dinner meet up with mama's friends

As Auntie HJ is back for holidays so that calls for reunion for mama's ex-colleagues and as usual the 2 boys will be busy with the toys ard while the adults chat....here's the 2 boys on the aqua doodle and Ian was having a gd time with the 'water pen' coz he kept going after manfred di2 to make sure he has a pen to join him in doodling as well =) how these 2 boys have grown over the meet-ups we have for past 2 yrs
And here's Ian with Manfred di2's talking bear....coz they were both having the bear that talks and Ian was trying to imitate what the bear was talking....at such times, we see Ian going after teddy bear coz he is never one who loves teddy bear....anw, we will meet Manfred di2 soon again next wk =)

Ian goes yum cha!

On a Thurs noon, we go yum cha with po2 and gong2 coz gong2 was off that day and po2 was recommending this dim sum pl that she went some gd time ago....since mama has been wanting to eat dim sum (coz went red star some wks back and it was too packed to squeeze in even) so we went to look for tian jin lou in chinatown (as recommended by po2) but it was close....hhmm it shifted to orchard...then gong2 suggested XO fish bee hoon which we all din mind but it was close for tea time...we managed to find this yum cha pl which we came b4 with ah maa and ah gong and the restaurant serve dim sum on trolley too =)
And here is the foodie boy who is eating a bit of everything....wonder if the waitress will ever ask how old is he coz he might be eating more than those paying kids hahaa....anw the old folks just enjoy watching this little boy eating away =) and he finished the small bowl of mango pudding on his own....sigh what an appetite! Just felt so leisure on a thur noon which hardly comes by since mama started doing abit of 'work' =p

Ian's imitating things so fast!!!

Ya the stage has come when Ian has learnt to imitate adults' actions whether in action or in words....last wkend we went for the National Family celebrations along the Spore river so Ian got 2 balloons home...1 of them came with the stick and he managed to take the balloon off the stick...then daddy immediately exclaimed that could be used as a caning stick...and these few days, we see Ian holding the stick and pointing at mama say 'You!' (usually we say that when Ian's naughty!) and then he could say 'Keep!' (mama usually asks him to keep his toys) and then he would say 'beat your backside' (that's when he refuses to listen!) sigh.....he has picked up all the phrases we use on him
and today when mama saw him playing with his doctor set, she was shocked to see this action Ian did....coz last wk when Ian was sick, we fed him with a syringe (coz easier to feed into his mouth) and see how he's imitating the action to get the medicine out of the bottle...well only thing is he is most willing to pretend to drink from the toy med bottle...wonder if he's sick, whether we could ask him pretend drink from the bottle?? hahaaa coz this boy simply hates taking med
well well so we gotta be careful of what we say and act now =p

Ian's doing a 'bridge'

This week we see more of Ian doing this bridge pose, there was once he even did and looked at daddy and called 'daddy, look!' we really wonder where he learnt how to do this...he's surely getting more agile with his body parts and that means more active hhmm if only he could put it into gd use =)
