What a hot day at the HORT park!

Being the last Sat of the mth, we are here at the Hort Park as the Butterfly Garden was open to public and the kids have been excited to come upclose with the butterflies. And here we are reaching the Hort park and getting ready to zoom to the end of the park as the butterfly garden was at the end of the entire park

And we are at the small enclosure with many species of the butterflies and there were alot of photography enthusiasts here as well trying to capture nice shots of the pretty butterflies. Some of them could rest on the leaves for us to admire whereas some of them are just busy fluttering ard....saw some species as guess those we see usually out in the park are abt the same...here we are quite a variety of them!

And here's a spot where the kids could capture a shot together as the enclosure was packed with pple and guess most pple knew abt the entry into the garden so it was quite crowded....most days the garden aren't open for visit...aren't we glad we came this close with the butterflies....thereaft the kids had their usual fun at the playground area and it proved too hot for all of us to stay in the sun then we proceeded to the fish area and fed the fishes with the bread we brought along....
And then we went on to Tg Pagar area for lunch, there is this fried fish stall which was from China Sq and they shifted to Tg Pagar exchange area for some yrs....so we had lunch there after so so long and it was nice and quiet since we were early and we finally got to the Ice Cream place which we have been 'hunting' for some time and finally found it at the Maxwell chambers....it's called 'Once upon a Milk Shake'...what a name but they have quite a variety of ice-cream flavours which u could have them as milk shake as well

Here the kids are excitedly waiting for their 'surprise treat' in this cosy place where u could just sit and relax and watch the world goes by.....well of coz with the kids we just had to make sure they weren't breaking anything in the shop hhhahaa

so we proceeded to the 'higher land' where they are placed on high chairs and to enjoy the milk shake and ice cream. we had Vainilla Pot (which is Vanilla), Pirate Queen Peach (which was Peach) and Brownie with Strawberry Agent (which was strawberry) well the names are fascinating and the kids were choosing the flavours according to the picture rather than the flavours....guess the boys wanted the soldier pic which was Cookies and Cream but its not available today. There are other interesting flavours like Peanut Butter and Lychee....guess we could be back since this is really near to our church....a nice morning out in the sun and yummy food =)

A movie date with DAYI!!!

Since coming back from Melaka, dayi has been wanting to bring Ian to watch Toy Story 3 (we din do it in Melaka coz some of us watched the movie so the rite decision was to watch Despicable Me) and Ian has been overjoyed to hear that dayi was bringing him for a movie on a Tue noon....yea mama was praying he will take a super long nap coz the show is at 4:45 so he could stretch for late dinner....well it was an answered prayer, he asked for nap at 11+ (which was really rare) and he slept for 2hrs+ and woke up to have lunch abt 3 so that shld stretch him for later dinner
So we took a short bus ride to meet dayi at Lido (bus ride always make him real happy....guess most kids are coz they are too spoilt to have car fetching them everywhere!) and here's a shot of him taking a ride on the long escalator ride up to the cinemas (after some time of playing with the toys at Isetan as we were early) and when mama took this shot, thot suddenly flashed past that how fortunate this boy to watch movie at Lido.....we probably came this place like when we were in tertiary or sth....what a gd life a 3yo can have!

We must capture this shot before going into the theatre while there are still not many pple....hhmm we were totally surprised the cinema was FULLY packed with folks as we thot this was an OLD show and on a Tue noon, there are still lots of pple who dun need to work and can catch a show that seems to be off from the list soon....anw Ian was attentive at the beginning of the show coz he had a pack of biscuits, then mama realised he can't be finishing them so got the pack away and he was soon asking for them again in midst of the show.....guess mama shld not have tagged along the show (coz we gathered there won't be many pple and we could squeeze a seat out but alas Ian had to sit on our lap for almost the whole show till we found an empty row of couple seats behind us) Anw a lesson learnt and maybe mama shld have gone shopping (as intended!) and Ian could have enjoyed the show more.....

We came out of the cinema at the end of the show and saw this must take paper figurines and Ian's fav character is Woody....hhmm really wonder what happens if the toys really can talk, it would be scary=p

Thanks dayi for taking time off to bring Ian (&mama) for the movie and we shall see when we could arrange for a stay over as Ian's really keen on going hostel (which we wonder why....)

Ring Ring....Ian's calling home!!!

For some wks Ian's been asking for daddy's, dayi's, ah mu's and po2's number and he has this habit of rushing to the phone and there have been calls he talked and told mama it was his friend....wonder who's on the other end coz we got some calls which he answered and it never got passed to us...anw think it might be some property agents which we get leaflets every other day (as if its so HOT property mkt now huh)

Last week he surprised mama by calling home and could hear po2 at the background asking if that was mama....he has been calling home at po2's place for some wks and all the while, mama thot it was just po2 telling him the numbers and he was calling home but last week po2 said he picked up the phone and was dialing home on his own....totally caught us by SURPRISE coz when later mama asked him our home's number he could say out the 8 numbers....hhhmm mama won't consider our home's number as easy to rem but he did it and now he's trying to rem dayi's number.....and dunno whose number he is trying to rem....just totally amazed at how our little 3yo can rem a set of 8 numbers but scary at the same time dunno who he will next call....anw our home phone bill is free incoming and outgoing so who cares hahaha but he's hogging the phone lor....so hard to get the phone these days coz he knows mama and daddy got our own hp and so he reckons that is Ian's phone sigh...

Away holiday-ing at Melaka =) from 16-18 Jul 2010

For some time already Ian has been asking for HOTEL so here is his awaited time for the whole family to go Melaka for a BIG house stay....we have been going NSRCC every Jul for past 2 yrs to celebrate ah gong's bday and this time dayi got a villa stay at A'Famosa and it was unbelievably cheap...there is animal world, water world and lots of fun at the resort but we read up on website that its not up to expectations therefore we came up with our own plan at the resort stay.....Ian has been bugging for hotel stay since a wk ago when mama broke to news to him and he hardly had much zzz the nite before and woke up asking if we were going for hotel....most delighted and looking fwd to the stay
Here we are reaching the Melaka town after 2hrs+ (Ian was most quiet during the trip as mama prep him that it would take some time before we reach our hotel!!) and we met up with ah mu, ah baa and dayi at Bei-Zhan (the most reasonable chinese food at Melaka) and we had lots of yummy food at this restaurant! Ian was most delighted to see his beloved cousins and dayi....

Here we are at Tesco doing some grocery shopping and some cooking for the nite's dinner....the kids were most happy to find each a mini trolley where they could place the stuff in....it looked like they are little adults doing their own shopping hahahaa.....most looking fwd to the BIG HOME HOME stay together for the next 2 days!

Here we are having steamboat at the resort while the kids had their fun at the sofa area and the adults could gather for some warm yummy food =) happy look on everyone's face!

And here's the rare chance for the 3 kids to have cheers with their milk bottles before they end the nite.....here's the meeting up before going to each zzz land! The villa is really nice with 4 bedrooms and it could contain 12 pple.....this time Ian was all ready to share room with dayi....he shooed mama away when dayi was in the room coz they are going to zzz land....1st nite was interesting coz Ian kept talking to dayi abt the stuff ard the room and kept dayi busy heheee and 2nd nite after mama gave instructions not to talk, he told dayi he can't talk else mama will scold....he was most obedient in following mama's instructions and in the morning he kept quiet on his bed as dayi was sleeping (or in fact peeping at him) he got up and down the bed, checking out the windows while waiting for dayi to wake up heheee...nice experience and he's all ready to have stayover with dayi! He doesn't quite need mama or daddy to be ard for sleep hhmmm

Well this trip was to celebrate ah gong's bday in advance and we got cake from Secret Recipe and the kids were most happy singing the bday song and blowing out the candles for ah gong....nice gathering ard the cake celebrating the joyous occasion! That morning we then adjourn to Mahkota for some shopping and the kids had so much fun.....we had lunch and then adjourn for some tea time at

A&W.....what a long missed food at A&W...the adults had the icecream root beer float while the kids had ice-cream in a mug =) missed the food since it has disappeared from Spore for the longest time!

After the tea break, we adjourn to the mall's cinema for the movie 'Despicable Me'....well well this is Ian's 1st movie and he was most upbeat abt it especially with ALL OF US! Here are the kids taking a shot with the 'poster' since we couldn't quite find a poster without alot pple crowding ard it....here is one of minions which is super cute in the movie....anw its really cheap watching movie in Msia and even kids are only RM$5, we shall do it again hahahaa....its quite nice having the 10 of us seated in the whole row with ah gong and po2 as well =) =) =)

Here's Ian seated beside dayi and he was most attentive during the show....he had his eyes wide open during the whole show and much instructions given to him not to talk too much (hahhaa coz we went Omni max before and he was asking non-stop and he could wait to ask questions after the show) and he was asking for more movies after this show.....a nice show in a society like ours that seem so void of love and feelings....well well now we know we could start bringing Ian to movies hhehee and dayi is most keen to bring him out for movie and stay over at her hostel =) and this boy is certainly looking fwd to more movies and stayovers! What a life for a 3yo huh....dun rem we got such stuff when we were only 3 yo!

After the show, we went to the Jonker Street and before that we hit to the local market which was introduced by some friends quite some time ago and we loved the atmosphere at the local market coz its the sort u could see the hawkers doing the stuff on the spot like this when the auntie is doing chee cheong fun on the spot and the kids couldn't get their eyes off from her cooking and we could just get food piping hot from the cooking....so we got lots of stuff for dinner and also some fresh fruit since its really cheap and attractive....just loved the market coz its the kind pple just bring their market trolley and grab the stuff they need yes even meat and fish.....its really near Jonker and its only open on Sat nite so we were just in time for all these actions....the kids have been here before but guess they will prefer if its air con hahahaa....guess we dun have such open market in Spore even so its quite an experience for us adults as well =)

And then it was walking onto the Jonker Street after our dinner at the market and it was quite a cool evening to walk and Ian with dayi as motivator he was walking on the street for quite a gd time and the kids were thrilled by all the toys and games available at the stalls coz guess we dun quite see most of them in Spore and it was like pasar malam but better since its walkway wo cars and they could see stuff upclose since the stuff were placed at their eye level

That ended the nite as we had to travel back to the resort as it takes an hr to go there....well we din capture shots of the later 'party' the adults had coz there were some durian stalls along the road leading to the resort so the 2 men went out 'hunting' for them and the durians were alot better than what we have in Spore....yumzzz....guess we could do this again when we get real cheap rates for the resort since both the kids and adults are happy lallaaaaa

The last morning, the kids shared a time of poppers which we got from Jonker and they were all so thrilled with the popping they could do on the ground and all were scrambling for more even tho we had 3 boxes of them, here are the 3 kids with each a box of poppers in their hands

Then we went on to check out and of coz a shot in front of the BIG HOME HOME and guess the kids were quite sad to go home and esp for Ian coz the other folks were heading straight home while our car is going for some shopping and lunch before hitting back Spore and on the way, he was asking why we must lve HOTEL and when are we going back and how come we dun see gor2 jie2 and dayi....lots of questions along the way and soon he was fine when we reached a huge Jusco

coz he was easily contented with 5 TAMAGOssss.....din know he was such sushi lover and he was just quietly tucking into his sushi spread one after another enjoying his meal while the rest of us just wanted to try more Msia stuff for lunch tho ah gong wanted Bei Zhan for cheap chinese food again but we wanted shopping as well haahaa and some fun for Ian

Its interesting how malls in Msia has this portion of playground where u could drop the kids for some playtime for some RM and the adults (or mummies) could do shopping, we have done it at Tebrau before and here is Ian happily playing in the area with his daddy and there were only a few kids and so he was enjoying the whole place on his own with the mobile cars, ball hits and slides....he has certainly cheered up after a gd meal and a gd playtime and soon he knocked out in the car so we could hit home quietly heheee altho he did have some playful moments with ah gong in the car before he zonk off....what a fun 3D2N stayaway we had and certainly fun fun for all of us and we could certainly do it again - cheap stay with cheap food and more movies and shopping hahaaha

Well thanks dayi for booking this stay and its certainly a trip for Ian to rem as it has his many 1sts....1st sleepover with dayi in the same room (altho he did once with dayi last yr at Bintan's Indra Maya) his 1st movie in the cinema and his 1st experience with the poppers! A trip to remember!

Happy 40th mth to Ian!!!

This mth has been quite packed...wonder why coz Ian's not schooling yet but we had lots of activities...guess its sch hols for his cousins so we had more activities....well this mth Ian had his wish to be on the Spore Flyer, altho he was the only fortunate one who took it twice, he's still asking for more hhmm as if his dad owns the Flyer huh....anw now he's asking for HOTEL and dayi's hostel....this boy sure knows what to request!

hhmm his request for hotel came after he went the Genting trip and he knows its FUN!! And he's ever asking for it so mama will always point to the hotels near our home (recently came up with many boutique hotels) and then when daddy drove us home then mama will say this is our Boon Tiong hotel hahaa yayaya and mama happens to be the chamber maid, chef, recep everything in 1 hahaa....and the hostel idea came was we had dinner with dayi some sats ago and then we sent dayi back hostel to pack some stuff before coming our pl and Ian was AMAZED at her hostel (wonder what attracted him beside the blue cross) and when dayi invited him to stay, he was most willing,....what a camper boy we have...anw lately he's been into GADGETS!! yes, dayi's i-touch is the fav among the kids now and Ian can actually operate the gadget on his own...guess what 3 yr olds are into these days....even mama's HTC hp is not being spared, tho not much games, Ian will toggle ard the photos, music files, camera and even caught him playing solitaire hahaa we were surprised at how he could move the cards sigh guess its a sign we can't ever get iphone for ourselves....coz we have seen how kids have been 'fighting' for their parents iphone so why get ourselves into trouble =p

With the sch hols, we could drop by ah mu's place more frequently, most of our fridays are spent there and Ian has been most interested in the hopper ball....guess since he was really young, he was fascinated by the hopper ball but he could hardly move it at that young age, now he's learnt how to hop with the ball and we are tempted to get it for him but thinking twice coz of the impact it makes on the ground, we might get complaints from our neighbours hahaa well can consider getting him for a present some day =)

And camping over po2's place has an attraction for Ian coz he could request for things he cannot get back home....going supermarket, he could ask for biscuits, milk, cheese, sweets, DURIANS etc from po2 (but been enforcing on Ian not to request when out with po2) and latest he asked for a mini golf set and he was most pleased with it coz of the clubs and balls that made it fascinating...since then he's been inviting pple to our place to 'play golf', he asked Dayi (who came and had a game with him), Aunty Lorraine and Seth gor2 (who came along some days ago and played as well) guess he's been most proud of his collection of toys back home....he's inviting more and more pple....he even told po2 that she hasn't been to our place lately....sigh dunno if he's being hospitable or....heheee

Yes, we do catch glimpses of World Cup back home.... not the one on tv but a miniature football match between Ian and his daddy...its their usual workout back home....this was Ian's bday gift from Jiu2 and Aunty Lorr and lately we brought it out to play coz po2 almost got the same set of toy for Ian till we told her and she went to exchange for the golf set...anw its been kicking goal time every nite (almost!) and Ian will be the goal keeper and daddy will tribble the ball and try his goal at the post...its been fun and Ian's been most excited abt playing with his daddy....yea, dayi had her share of play with Ian when she dropped by last wk, dunno what our pl is turning into some miniature sports centre??

OK, beside the action packed stuff, Ian went for his 1st story telling session at Queenstown Lib last Sat....hhmm its his 1st at the lib tho quite sure not his 1st story telling coz we do know there is lots of story telling at Sun Sch and must say he's quite attentive during the story telling...its an achievement for 3yo coz he will sit still there listening to the person reading the story (guess we dun see much at SS since we try not to appear there) and its quite different when reading to him back home, he will usually ask lots of questions even as u flip the pages and we could read a book umpteen times and he could even read it back to us

Last Sun, we dropped by Raffles City and for the 1st time, Ian's been captivated by the fountain, we sat there for some gd minutes and he then requested for pee break but requested to come back to the fountain again to view it....wonder what went thru his mind but he could just see the water shooting up and then flowing back and could sit quietly just observing it....guess its a new spot we could drop by again coz we had to go as daddy was coming by to pick us....just new discovery of our boy, just glad there are times he is energised for sports and yet there are times he could quieten down and do some simple stuff like observing and listening to things....and he's getting better at doing things on his own as sometimes mama needs to attend to things like cooking or watching news and he could go to his own room to do his own stuff and often really happy to have mama to join him again and he's always happily humming his tune away, it always make a mama happy just looking at her happy boy

Happy 40th mth, our happy boy! Continue to stay and grow up that way!
