Ian's 1st sand art....

We chanced upon this sand art corner when we were shopping at Marina Sq @ Chan Bros roadshow and it was FOC for the kids.....so the kids were keen but mama was more keen lah hehee.....coz Ian can't quite do on his own so mama peeled the parts for him and he just sprinkled the colors on the care bear picture which he has chosen.....just asking him to choose the colors he wants since there were containers of the colors sprinklers on the art so it was a gd time at the corner doing the art
Here's the care bear sand art we have done and it was a cloudy bear since it was holding an umbrella and it was raining....hhmm think mama had her 1st sand art when ard 18+yo but Ian had his as he's only 3 hhhm how fortunate kids are but well as long as mama enjoyed it and Ian had fun its GD!!! Guess it would be a few more yrs before Ian could do it on his own, saw the older kids were having fun on their own wo their parents....next time mama will still sneak in to do her own even when Ian could do his own hahahaa fun fun!!

Catching the YOG's torch flame!!!

Saw a poster at our RC's board downstairs and kindof know when they are coming by our pl but dunno exact spot so daddy went to check website and we wonder if ever can catch it as weather hasn't been gd (tho wanted to catch at po2's pl when Ian stayed over but was pouring) and on Fri, it was super HOT weather and still thinking if we shld go coz Ian woke up early and dunno when its coming coz usually the run comes quite late....so we just went and was checking out TB mkt as alot of aunties were crowding there and here we are taking pics with the YOG flags (with the number of flags there daddy guessed the torch relay shld come by here!)
And we found a spot where Ian could sit and chill out while waiting for the torch 'FIRE' hheee and brought along a pack of ribena else how to entertain the boy who keeps asking WHEN?? We never quite took pics of TB mkt tho we been here for some yrs.....and here we got a chance and there was lion dance waiting to welcome the torch relay....it was really loud but it was getting all of us into atmosphere....hhmm feels abit like CNY tho hhehee

mama then decided we shld move away from the crowd so we could catch a glimpse else the crowd shld block Ian so we walked down a little more and still there were seats in shade for the boy to enjoy his drink and wait.....for almost 30mins then we saw police cars and bikes....then finally the cheering buses came along which thrilled Ian more than the torch relays coz the youngsters were waving to him coz there were v few pple ard where we were so Ian enjoyed the 'attention' given with loads of pple waving to him!!!

And then we saw the relay run pass FINALLY!!! And we saw an 'auntie' waiting at her designated lamp post to do that run it was quite a short distance they were all running and it was more of the glam and fun than tiring but alot of fanfare coz the media vehicle had to be in front to take all pics so we were glad to be able to catch shots since we had the whole street to move along

Ian was most delighted to see so many policemen and he even had 1 policeman making funny face at him while he was driving past us and when mama told to wave to him and Ian did and the policeman also waved back....guess this is the 1st time we came up so close to policemen driving past us at such SLOW speed
As if we din have enough of waiting then Ian asked for more actions so we ran down the TB road to catch them opp TB plaza as they were making their route to Sentosa....this boy was quite gd in running with mama and we managed to catch all the actions at the junction again and this time we caught it at the side view and it was gd fun having the torch relay at our estate and guess this is once in a lifetime chance and glad we did it! Tho Ian din expect the torch fire to be that small, that left in his memory was the bus of pple waving at him and also the policemen as he tried to tell daddy what he saw in the noon.....hhmm what actions we caught for the YOG huh

Digging the sand on National Day!!!

Though we had a real late nite last nite, Ian still woke up as early arrgghh and decided to hit out to tire him out further hahahaa and the seemingly dark clouds soon went away as we travelled to the ECP, here we are digging sand again - the boy is never tired of digging into the sand and this time he was asking for sea water and soon asked daddy to go with him as he wanted to go alone but was afraid he might be swept away and here he is with his sand play
And of coz with his daddy with the sand play and today it was more packed with pple guess we were there early so it was not that bad and soon we saw more crowds coming in and we went off for lunch tho the boy asked for swimming....just glad the weather was gd for us to go outdoors as the wkend's weather din look so gd for such outdoor fun.....on the way back was just asking Ian what day was today, he said it was Mon which was right and daddy said it was National Day but mama says HOLIDAY but Ian was like 'I wanna go holiday!!!' coz his concept of holiday is quite different from mama's huh hehhee

Ian turns 41 mths old

This has been yet another exciting mth for Ian with more 1stssss.....and just couldn't keep thinking what a gd life he has for a 3yo....this mth he watched his 1st 2 movies and both were with dayi and guess he could be dayi's movie companion huh except its just kiddo shows....
And he finally got his hotel stay wish granted after much request but he was most delighted with the whole family staying in the big big house and yes, he has been asking for more since we left that big house and he knows what fun entails with all staying at the same house...wonder if he will say NO to hotel and ask for big house when we next check into a hotel room...hhmmm anw since watching Toy Story 3, we have borrowed from library Toy Story 2 and Ian never got tired of repeating the show and he could watch it again on separate days....guess he's memorising the characters already...now he knows Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear and the dog, pig and dinosaur....

And this mth, we had some workout sessions the 1st being the Dairy Farm trek which ended with some muscle ache and he ended up having to crawl on 2 days after the trek trip coz his thighs just ache so much hahahaa never saw him in such ache moments, guess its the time he really worked out his thigh muscles with all the stretching to get onto higher ground during the trekking trip....we shld do more and will ask for less carry....and then he cycled down ECP on his bike and it was an amazing trip for a boy who hardly cycles and this time he din complain any ache only during the cycling, he did complain abt his bump abit pain and requested to walk....nonetheless, we are glad he is working out more and more trips shld come up huh
For some reasons, he has been attracted to steering wheels and whenever we go toy section, he will be sitting down and taking on the steering wheel altho he has been asking to drive car.....he has been asking for daddy's car key and he would be delighted to be able to open the doors by pressing the buttons and this mth, we had the chance of mama driving to po2's place on a Wed as daddy was on course and Ian's face lighted up when mama told him to stay quiet while she drives and he then asked if daddy got 2 cars and how come daddy din drive to work....well so much explanation and then his next remark was 'after mama drive then its Ian's turn!'.....ya so much abt driving, still trying to tell him he needs a driver license and tho he din quite understand then he went to say 'OK, Ian drives bumper car' and he's been asking for bumper car since we came back from Genting, dun think we see any kid's bumper car in Spore and wonder if he will know how to manovere.....we shall see then
Last wk, mama decided to bring out the whiteboard which we got from Ikea some mths back and Ian was most happy to see that coz he could start his 'artist art' hahhaaa....was supposed to be for him to learn write his alphabet but he ended up drawing 3 faces - the centre is always Ian with gor2 and jie2 beside him and he always make sure he draws them holding hands together....hhmm he is always thinking of them even in his art piece...guess he's perfecting his drawing of the 3 of them rather than his ABCssss

This mth, Ian was also introduced to more Issss.....before that he had 'encounter' with dayi's i-touch and now he got to know abt i-phone and got his hands on i-pad....all thanks to his cousins who busy themselves with such gadgets and on a Sun noon he gets to play on mama's laptop which has not many games except some matching games and so the rule is only can play on Sun noon.....for the time being, outdoor fun is still on priority over such gadgets as working out his muscles are more impt than spoiling his eyes.....guess its mama who's the spoilsport but well its for Ian's gd.....this mth, we are also into some 'discipline' coz for some reason Ian picked up the habit of eye glaring at the person he doesn't like or gave comments he doesn't like.....even if it means mama or daddy....so the harsher way was to discipline by 'cane' and hope this gets into him that even if he doesn't concur with what we say, he has to abide coz of respect for us.....its a hard and long lesson but its slowly seeping into his little mind....guess discipline goes a LONG LONG way for us.....
Still, wanna wish our little one a happy 41 mth old, oh u are turning 3 and 1/2 yrs old in just a mth's time and the upcoming mth is a more exciting one for u!

A German Birthday Bash!

For yrs, we have been attending mostly kiddos bday party and there is only 1 of our peers who never fails to celebrate his bday as his bday falls on National Day and today we attended his advance party and it was a German theme.....we had to come in red, yellow and black and it was tough so we decided to take easy way out with each of us wearing a diff color.....the food served was German food - Spatzel (somewhat like our Italian Pasta), sausages and german beer....little like October Fest coz Salome came dressed like one serving beer during such Fest....anw Ian had a gd time there despite being the only kid there coz everyone was teasing him and there was Aunty Lorr to entertain him.....well Jiu2 even played with him in the kid's pool....Ian warmed up quite soon at the party after he became pally with all the aunties and uncles there and was running ard by the poolside tables
And here's a shot with the bday boy....and some of us were just saying how Ian has grown acquainted with Uncle Kenneth since some time ago, he would not allow Uncle Kenneth to carry him guess the comfort came together with his endless Nutella gifts for Ian....Ian's face will somewhat brighten up whenever he sees the Nutella flashed before his face....hhmm its not something that could be found in Spore, each time it was air flown from Germany, guess we forgot to take stock how many Ian has taken over time but just thank Uncle Kenneth for showering all these attention for this little boy and wishing u a truly blessed 32nd bday

A day out fun with daddy.....

For a rare Tue off by daddy, Ian was excited to see daddy back home and gave him instructions that we could go out after his nap and he took such short nap abt 45 mins and spring up ready to go out for some fun....weather forecast was rain in the noon but we still headed to ECP as Ian wanted to cycle but when reaching there he asked to play sand and here we are playing sand by the cooling sea.....Ian went endlessly digging into the sand and so did daddy....it was real nice on a wkday coz there was hardly anyone by the beach
And here is Ian writing on the sand and wonder if it runs in the genes coz he started writing his nap hehehee well caught us by surprise coz he has yet to succeed writing his name coz he can't quite write N but he did manage to write on the sand =) and that brought cheer to the boy that he could get his name on the beach =)

And endless play on the beach and thot it was nice with the palm trees swaying with the wind and with no one at the background as compared to wkends which is usually packed with pple...it was really nice to play with sand and hearing the waves with the sea breeze

And we manage to capture some shots together on the beach and Ian was happily trying on the timer mode which he had learnt how to get the mode and run back within 10 secs to capture the shot

After the sandplay, we went on to cycling as planned as lately Ian has been most keen in cycling, we just went cycling down to the food centre and he was in fact making us walk briskly behind him as he enjoyed being 'chased' by us but must say it was a long cycle he did as it was at least 5km to the food centre and he did it till we reached the water ski area when he said he was tired....so we reached the food centre in time for dinner there!
Wonder was it coz of the cycle Ian did, he was totally famished and he was in fact asking for noodle, beehoon, rice, satay, chicken wings etc....and he enjoyed the prawn noodles, satay and ayam penyet together with his carrot juice! What a big eater he was and guess it was just pumping food into him to get energy for him to cycle back to the car park where we came from
And he did try to cycle back tho really tiring and last part he decided to come down and walk with us pushing the bike on.....just glad we have a gd time out at ECP with the fun and food!

Celebrating Ah Gong's life - 70th birthday!

In a life, how many decades could we celebrate birthday? Therefore we had a birthday dinner for ah gong as he turns 70 yrs today! For the ah gong who always prefer home cooked food, we were just glad he agreed to having a birthday dinner for him. We had dinner at Orchard Hotel at Juniper Room while we enjoyed food from Hua Ting Restaurant, at least chinese food for the old folks to enjoy chinese cuisine. So we had 4 tables of relatives and it was abit like mini banquet with all the 'shou tao' and birthday cake!
Our kids had 'rules' to abide during dinner time else they could end up running ard the room so Ian was told to sit on his high chair and enjoy the company of the folks on our table together with the food! Only at the last part then he was allowed to come down coz the dinner was getting too long...imagine he was on his high chair for 2hrs+ before asking to come down to work out his limbs....so here came Joy jie2 so we had the kids take pics with ah gong and ah maa and of coz saying 'sheng ri kuai le' and the old folks were delighted...here's Ian with his signature cheese which all were laughing with his 'enthusiasm' in taking photos hahhaaa
And on our table was Ian's biao jiu (which he has always rem seeing him in the photo album) and biao jiu was helping Ian with frog origami during the dinner....and here's a pic of capturing Ian red handed with the video cam which daddy was busy taking during the banquet! Some memories for ah gong to reminsce of this day! And here's a shot of Ian with biao jiu imitating Ian's cheese photo take with Joy jie2!

And we had a gd time catching up with Ian's biao jiu gong's family (ie daddy's jiu2) and they have 3 kids whose ages range from 8 - 14 but yet we see this closely knitted family and learning some family tips from them....guess we never had such extended time chatting as the usual one is just some catch up during CNY so in a way it was gd learning abt the family as the 2 boys were quite close to both the parents which was interesting coz these days it's quite hard to see teenage boys still so attached to parents...well this is the aim for us to be bonded with Ian that even when he grows up, he will still wanna share all secrets with us...I guess this is the reason for being SAHM and v much encouraged during the dinner and the kids were quite well behaved maybe coz the dad is a teacher?? Anw lots of lessons to learn as they have gone a longer way than us =)
Anw during the dinner Ian was most shy with biao jiu gong so he came real close to Ian when Ian wanted longan and he actually peeled for Ian hahaha what fun we had at the table with the kids' play and adults' talk!
And here is the Iong's 3-generation family and of coz all of us wishing many more blessed yrs ahead for ah gong and we are certainly still praying for his salvation so that we could see more yrs together in the eternal land!
