Pls bear with this long blog as there are so many pics to show abt our trip which we had from 26 May - 5 Jun but had to choose the highlights of what we saw and did and it was a tough choice hhehee
Day 1 - Perth City
We did a trip down to Perth some 2 yrs ago and alot pple asked why Perth again and this time even longer.....hhmmm guess we found more 'treasures' along the way and decided to do the trip again and it was the same trippers hehheee....we all found it was a huge contrast from the last trip we did with Ian when he was barely 2.5 yrs old....now he's alot more matured and fun-going and could verbalise more!
Here's him on the Qantas flight, so looking fwd to his hols and his long-awaited flight, he had endless feasts on the flight and was most thrilled with the tv and the ice cream treat....hhmm more to come we guess!
Day 2 - Perth - Albany

We were glad that things went smoothly tho ah gong, po2 and dayi got checked during customs but our food stuff went thru well hahha including mama's milo and instant noodles hhmm and glad to get this huge imax car again(same as our last trip) coz any other MPCVs couldn't contain our 5 luggages hhehee and more shopping buys so we thank God for the plenty boot space! And Ian was gd with the car trips, totally amazed at this long leg we had to Albany which he took an earlier nap and the 2nd longer leg he was kept awake just looking thru the receipts he had started collecting (wonder why??) during the trip, we were teasing if he were the auditor as dayi was the treasurer hahhaa but at the end of the trip, the receipts came in handy as we could get some discounts off the fuel with our purchase at the Woolsworth so we thank God for him hahha

Upon reaching Albany, he scouted off soon with daddy to the nearby playground which was just next to our Dolphin Lodge and guess he only came home when the sky turned dark which was early like 5+ coz it was autumn but we loved the weather coz it was cool but yet there was plenty sunshine.....it stayed this way for the beginning of the trip till we hit a little to the Southwest
Day 3 - Albany

The best of the trip was spending time with the family and it was treasured time he had with his daddy as we love time which we have with daddy without his celphone hahahaa and there were so many monkey times he had with daddy saying he's the monkey and daddy is the tree hahhahaa

One of the reasons to come to Albany over the wkend was this farmers market and as we were doing quite abit of cooking along the way, it was gd to stock up altho we did quite abit during a nite stay at the Perth city and even hitting to Subiaco mkt before we left but well po2 feels the veg is alot fresher and sweeter there so the cook says so we better just follow hahhaa but Ian started loving going the markets as well as there are alot of sampling of food unlike our Spore market and the weather is cool hhmmm maybe the cool weather just makes going anywhere more pleasant =)

We did quite a fair bit of picnic lunches and this must be one of our 1st with fried bee hoon and sausage and chips for lunch by the Middleton beach, as typical Sporean we chose a shady picnic table and seeing ah mohs sitting on the grass under the sun and soon we knew why coz it was getting a little cold under the shade hahhaaa we so used to avoiding sun in Spore huh but even such freezing weather we see girls in bikinis and kids jumping into the sea water....hhmm what is cold to them huh

We started our sightseeing ard Albany and here we are at the Gap and Blowhole, it was quite diff experience as when we last came 8 yrs ago (just daddy and mama with other friends of coz!) as it was freezing raining and today it was sunny day! Could see the nice sky and the sea!

Here's the Wind Farm and Ian doing his funny stunts when he got excited looking at BIG FANS hahaha and we were just lazing on the bench there enjoying the sight and we started joking, why on the fans when the air con is on hahhahaa guess that's what cold weather can get into us coz it's really freezing at nite when we bathe there hahahaa

Our 1st home cooked dinner and with 2 chefs, we were so blessed with their cooking and each meal just tasted so gd and Ian started the schedule of taking turns to say grace and for once, we heard ah gong praying hahahhaa it was gd to have such kid to start such diff routine huh...well we had chic rice, tom yum, pork cutlets, stew beef and lots more for our home cooked meal....never running out of ideas with po2 and dayi as our chefs hhehehee
Day 4 - Albany -Pemberton

Before we went off, there was a fish market on that Sun and of coz we went there as well hehehe and we got new experience of stuff as there was lots of interesting stuff like portable oven which we got a quiche and had waffle there with belgium choc and off we went to Pemberton for the rest of our trip tho weather was changing fast....its gonna be wet...

Along the way, we came across this Swiss choc cafe and we had to stop by and Ian was coughing at this time already but believe it or not, after the stick of choc he had, it kindof stopped (of coz with some med as well) tho wondering if we shld let him hv choc since he was coughing for a while since he had ice cream on plane....hhm anw he was still active and having fun!

This gotta be the wildest picnic lunch we had for the trip as mama planned for a picnic lunch stop along the drive to Pemberton and not passing much major towns, we had fried pasta for lunch and read abt this Peaceful Bay and thot it might be nice to check out....yes, indeed it was nice but had no picnic tables this time and we sat on stones for lunch hehehee but nonetheless, we had nice scenery before us and there were 4WD fishing along the nice bay, here we are v cheerful after a yummy nice and going on our way to our next 2N stay at Pemberton =)
Day 5 - Pemberton

After a wet nite of rain as forecast, we set off for our planned itinerary which was to climb the Gloucester Tree which the town was famous for, here is Ian attempting to climb the 60m tall tree heheee of coz we all din do since mostly old folks, preg woman and a young kid and so only the fit daddy did the climb but soon the rain came when he reached the summit which had a little hut on top of the tree while we took shade under a tree. Well it was daddy's 2nd climb onto the tree,, wonder if Ian will really do it if we ever come back again hhmm

Then we headed for the next thing which was the highlight of the trip to this town which was King Trout fishing, we were introduced this abt 8 yrs ago by a friend and it was a gd thrill coz it's fish 1st then the restaurant will cook the fish u fished for lunch hhmm quite cool concept except we were the 1sts to reach the place and the fishes were still warming up or rather the ducks at the pond were hungrier and they were biting on our fish feed but well we had an hr of gd time fishing for our lunch hehee

Here's the boy getting ready with the blue basket ready to get some fish for the lunch but he was really patient as we took some time before we caught our 1st fish but it was a gd thrill coz we were there waiting patiently behind our rods hoping some hungry trout comes on our fish rod and they were alive when we had them in the basket

Here's Ian with the 1st fish we caught and it was caught by dayi who was still learning to fish hehehee and then subsequently daddy and mama caught a fish each so we had 3 fishes for lunch which weighed abt 1kg and it was just nice for lunch for the 6 of us together with chips and salad but when we caught 2 fishes, Ian exclaimed 'Hey, its the same story as what I learnt in Sun Sch' hhheeee it was abt the boy with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread....hahahaa being so biblically rite huh but we had to get 1 more fish to feed 6 pax, he had so much fun, he asked for more fishes to be caught but well guess 3 was enough and we were hungry for fish by then

Here's our 3 fishes which were yummily caught and grilled for our lunch and boy, they were fresh and tasted really yummy guess that was the highlight of our whole trip and whole lot of memories of the 6 of us sitting by the pond really wondering if we could catch any fish for lunch hehhee

Then it was back to the Lavender and Berry Farm where we stayed and they were known for their pancakes and how could we miss their HUGE pancakes and of coz getting all the berry jams as we were awed by their jams which were in our breakfast basket which were included for our farm stay and we had to loiter ard to check out their animals and lavender plants and po2 went to pick lemon as there were lemon trees with fruit coming off their trees =)

Here's us posing in front of their signboards and we loved this real tranquil place and our cottage was surrounded with many eucalyptus trees and overlooking a pond with ducks that came by for feed in the morning, it was a truly nature stay coz we had fireplace and it was real cold at nite tho there were standing fan in the room and Ian actually asked if we could on it like at home bbrrhh but he forgot the aircon is already blasting at us!
DAy 6- Pemberton - Margaret River

Here's us in front of the cottage as we bid farewell to this nice cosy farm and moving onto our next leg of eating and wining hehehe margaret river, here we come!

Along the way, we headed to Augusta for this Cape Leuwin Lighthouse and we had memories of this place where we could sit in front of the lighthouse and seeing dolphins going by but 8 yrs later, it became fenced up and today weather was so cold we din wanna mount the lighthouse and we just took pics here as the folks were cold tho Ian was gungho wanting to move on but the rain and wind just made us think twice gggrrrr, had to skip the dolphins swimming by

Then we had lunch in front of this lighthouse view in our MPV as it was drizzling still and Ian was behind the wheels for lunch hhhmm like real huh coz when we asked if he could drive after lunch, his answer was 'YES!!' then he asked how to start the car huh.....hahhaa well just enjoy ur fried rice and daddy will take over hahhaa but we had a nice fun time eating in the car enjoy the BREEZE as well just a diff experience we had.....but it was nice to have lunch on the go coz we din need to waste time getting to a pl for lunch and then spending time thinking what to eat and we could commune over lunch =) thumbs up for all our successful lunch picnics!

Then we got in time for our farm stay at Margaret River and our tractor ride which was scheduled at 4pm and here's Ian on the tractor which took us ard the HUGE farm and we had all sorts of experience like the kids playing with little toy boats along some small rivers, BBQ the mashmallow in the greens and feeding cows with bread and looking at wild kangaroos looking at us

Then when we got back the farm, Ian went animal feeding and we were surprised with all the farm animals they had as there were more than 100 of them and we could get buckets of feed and feed them anytime of the day, it's like zoo but it was free for feeding the animals and u could come upclose with some of them and we saw the horse kicking the ostrich over the food as the ostrich came into the horse boundary as we were feeding it
Ian loved the loft bed which we had at the farm stay coz the ladder which he could climb up and down like the playground and so he just loved this stay with all the animal feeding tho he was peeved by the 2 dogs at the farm, Chilli and Lily as 1 did corner him during the morning pony ride and he got frightened hehhee

Here's Ian with his fav rabbit as he could come upclose to them and feed them any food which could be found in the bucket which included bread, nuts and even carrots of coz and there were at least a dozen of them hopping ard and this was the only one muching quietly with the carrot
Day 7 - Margaret river
This was the horse ride Ian is treated to every morning coz only kids 2-6 yo could take and he was v mild so Ian wasn't afraid and guess he just loves it coz the 2nd morning he agreed to take it again and again it is included in our stay at the farm, isn't it just great!

The cottage we stayed was just in front of the playground and at anytime Ian could just run there and play his fav swings so he was most pleased with this farm stay and with the space he could run and roam ard except on the lookout for the dogs of coz

And here we caught a little chick which was only a few days old and it felt gd just patting it as it was really tiny and nice to put on palm and stroke it and then of coz lots of chicken on the farm and we did egg collection in the noon and we got free farm eggs at the end of the stay coz we wanted to buy them but were given free hehhee maybe coz we helped to collect them?

Then we started our GOURMET trip hehhee which we came for and started with Candy Cow and we were glad we made it the 1st stop as there was demo for making honeycomb and we were given free samples and later gotten a free pack coz of our buys at the shop =) nice start of our goumet journey

Here's Ian with his candy cow toy and all the lollies he has gotten for his dear gor2 and jie2 as prior to coming this trip, we viewed the tape which we took on our last trip so Ian knew what he was expecting, lots of candies treat, choc and yogurt sampling and he was really looking fwd to this leg of the trip and he is totally well to start his FEASTING waahhhh

Yes, this is the demo we made it and we were the only audience and we were quite awed at how the gelatin can make so much honeycomb crunch!

This must be the best place Ian enjoyed his choc as there were bowls of the 3 chocs - milk, choc and dark choc and he had so many handfuls of them and even got a pack to bring home of coz complimentary of po2 dearest!

And here's a thumbs up for the home cooked food as dayi did this chinese pancake which the boy loved and there was always sth he loved at every meal and just glad he's such an easy eater and he would always thumb up at every pic hahhaaa and say it's so yummy which just made dayi and po2's day aft all the cooking and we enjoyed all the tom yum and yummy stuff =) and guess what we took 3kg of rice over the 11 days we were there and the amount just seemed so so alarming huh, we must have put on so much weight while there hahhaaa

coz our dessert was always sth to look fwd like this Margaret River yogurt which Ian had endless cups at the shop till dayi was so pai seh hearing him asking for another cup and all.....he had lots of cheese, nuts and cookies tasting as well, guess he had his mini lunch at the shops before we stopped for our burger lunch stop along the way which had a HUGE beef patty as well, we really had variety of things for lunch =)
Day 8 - Margaret River- Busselton-Harvey- Perth

All feasting must come to an end and here we bid farewell to the farm and all the feasts we had at M River and it was a nice place to feed ourselves and the animals and if ever we come back, we sure to visit this farm which had so many activities!

Then we headed to Busselton Jetty as it just got revamped and here's the train ride we took to the end of the jetty and the captain even posed in the pic which we were trying to take without us knowing, it was nice view looking at the end of the jetty and glad weather was gd enough for this ride to be possible as somehow the sky cleared on this day which it din for the past days!

And we had lunch prior to our train ride only promising Ian to an ice cream treat which we had at Simmos just outside the jetty and here's him with his double choc and dayi with her strawberry cheesecake ice cream and we just loved the creamy ice cream as we got more passionfruit ice cream and milk shake as well, a nice sweet treat on such cold and yet sunny day!

1 thing Ian found out during the trip was his love for green apples coz we hardly get them and he is amazed how nice these apples are beside the usual red ones he had and we were glad he found more love for more fruit as apples were abundant there and here's him posing with the green apple in his mouth and phototaking just came quite natural during the trip for him hhmm
Our plan was to stay at Harvey for the nite but we just went the Big Orange which saw the orange plantation and then we thot perhaps it was better to hit back to Perth city since there was not much to be done at Harvey and so we hit the Information to book for our nite stay at our fav City Stay oppp the shopping area and once we got a room, then daddy zoomed for 1.5 hrs to Perth city so we could be tucked into the cosy stay and do with laundry washing which was supplied in the apartment hhehhee
Day 9 to 11 - Perth

This was sth mama just had to get at Perth City, the Corica Apple Strudel as it does taste better in Perth (where it originated) and just sharing the strudel makes it nicer as well so Ian thot he was cutting a bday cake and was asking for presents aft cutting it even hhhhm din u turn 4 already???

And our reason for stay City Stay was coz of the proximity to the late nite shopping at Harbourtown and we coincided with Fri as we just need cross a road to get there and we had so much fun shopping and here is Ian carrying all the buys as he just saw a gal doing it for her mummy and he thot was a gd idea and after a while, he passed onto daddy as he thot he was stronger hahhaaa but well mama grabbed some gd buys for presents and clothes for coming addition to the family, just wish there was more time =)

Ian just got this new love for magnet during the trip and while we were at Fremantle he was frantically looking for a magnet and he loved this koala magnet which came in some colors and he wanted 1 each for this gor2 and jie2 again but was stopped coz later dayi was nice to get him his fav blue one which he treasured so much till the way home =p

And we had to come for this Fish and Chips which hardly anyone miss when coming to Fremantle and we just loved the fish with the chips and Ian was enjoying the fish as compared to 2 yrs ago, F&C was his worst meal but now he will eat the fish with the chips so there was hardly any meal he was fussing abt now and even requested subway when we first got to Perth City, just had to make him take more greens!

Yes and King's park was a highlight as it was gd time strolling in the weather as the sky cleared on the last day when we were there and just love the green with the blue sky and enjoying the view up there and walking the glass walkway, its much easier with Ian walking when we brought the pram 2 yrs ago but alot of motivation to make him walk more rather than piggy back on daddy which he loves these days sigh

Ian loves going market....why?? coz there are lots of fruit sampling and he would go grab red apples, green apples, persimmons and even his fav mandarin oranges and he won't be stopped sigh guess he must have wished there was such stuff in Spore when u could sample endlessly hhmmm and of coz we bought lots of fruit while we were there and even back home coz they just tastes sweeter there, wonder why huh even the brocolli, corn and pumpkin tastes amazing sweeter just with simple cooking hhhmm po2 just wishes she could buy the whole market home buahhahaaa
Truly thank God for making this trip possible as we planned it even before we knew abt the coming of our little one and it was just so timely that it fell into the 2nd trimester and we could enjoy it while mama's at the best phase and the whole trip went so well, guess it's tempting to come back again when the little one is little bigger but this trip is sure a memory for all of us and even for little Ian as he is so blessed with all the love from the adults since he's the only bundle of joy and noise which accompanied us along the 11 days and am sure po2, ah gong and dayi have been really happy with this bubbly boy among us as he made it more lively with all his cheekiness and laughter and even little help along the way
This 11 days were well spent bonding together as we commune at every breakfast, lunch and dinner and even the car rides were spent talking abt what we see and Ian has been most entertained by dayi which was nice coz daddy could drive in peace with mama navigating and po2 and ah gong resting during journeys.
We only can thank God for his providence for seeing us thru the trip and making all things possible and even granting us journey mercy and till the next trip.....
