A day out on the Presidential Election Day!

This is 1st time Ian hears of Election as the last GE we were in the constituency which din need to vote and this time he saw how the pavilion just down our block has been 'blocked' to prep for the day and even the nite before we saw policeman on duty to make sure the place is 'protected' and so the early morning we went to vote our right.....of coz we had to take turns to be with Ian but it was quite fast and mama got special privilege coz she got an express queue as she was preggy hheeee anw just glad its so near our pl and we could just stroll downstairs to do it and it has been sometime we voted since we shifted to this area which is PAP dominated!
We had bf with ah mu and ah baa's family as it has been sometime since we shared bf and we adjourned to the Kids Explorer at Downtown East and it was Ian's 1st visit to this indoor playground and we did the membership for him which last him till 12yo hhmmm shall see how often we come here but the kids had loads of fun with all the playground and stuff inside while the daddies watch over them! After lunch, it was nap on the go and then we had some time before our nite prog and we dropped by Peranakan museum as it was FOC for the Aug mth and it was our 1st time there after being ard to quite a few museums and the kids were thrilled with the endless stamps they could get ard the museum and learning abt the heritage and the last stop they were most thrilled with this changing of wedding clothes for the bride and groom and even the page boy and gal hhmmm just monkeying ard....

Then we went to church for the Young Adult Ministry gathering and it was a time for gyoza making for the adults and there was program for kids as well and it was cookie and cup cake making and well well Ian had his fair share of fun at the cookie dough as it has been his fav thing to knead the dough and do all shapes as it is kindof banned at home hahhaa coz the playdough is kindof messy and this time he had endless time on that and he was enjoying himself thoroughly and wonder if he knows that was cookie dough rather than playdough hahaaa coz it seemed the same to him except that he could decorate them thereafter and he could munch them up as well!

Yes, here is the dough he has been given and he was asking for more and more dough to make and he just enjoy the cookie cutting as well and guess he must have made alot and some HUGE ones which the rest could recognise it was his ginger breadman! All shapes and sizes and he just love them all

Then next was the decoration part after they had their dinner and he was just beside Dawn jie2 doing decorating and looking at the loads of stars and heartshapes sprinklers he was putting on them, it din look appetising to us hhahaa but he sure love more and more to sprinkle on coz they looked lovely! Anw he just loved decorating the cupcakes but he din like eating them but he loved the cookies and he brought home so many of them arrgghh had to dispose some coz looked too 'sweet' to finish them! The adults had gd fun making gyoza and even had loads to pack home and the kids were happily playing by themselves and Ian was real happy to make some new friends like Chloe, Sarah and Phoebe jie2s since he hardly had the chance and it was nice seeing how they were playing by themselves! The program was a HUGE success and it was a gd PH out with family and friends!

Meeting up with mama and daddy's friends.....

It was a busy wkend for our family as we have some meetups on fri and sat nites and it meant late nite out for the boy who is skipping his nap but he was gd to take short nap just before we meet our friends (yes, just a 10 min nap can perk him till 10+ at nite tho he usually asleep by 8+) so on Fri nite, we met our friend from Thailand who is here for the 1st time and he is now Pastor Ping! It was 11 yrs ago when we met him during a mission trip and he was just a law student and today he is a pastor! There was so much to catch up tho much language barrier but so much memories of the time we spent in Thailand and now that he is a pastor at the rural area, there is more need to let pple know abt the word of God and it just prompted us to go back to mission again! Yes, with the baby coming up guess we need to put on hold the plan for some yrs before the kids can be of gd use in the mission field

the meet up was gd coz now Ian is getting more easily warmed up with pple he is meeting for the 1st time and soon he was quite pally with Uncle Ping already hhmm nice way to start the wkend!

Saturday was leisure coz our small grp was meeting at 5pm so the whole day we were out just spending family time and getting daddy's latest DSLR toy hhmm but the boy was impatient for the next station (ie po2's pl!!) so we had a nice breaky at Han's where the boy enjoyed the choc eclair and see the pic he took with the cream on his lips....guess just enjoy such moments before we would be rushing for nursing and changing of diapers hhahaa

Thereaft we went po2's pl to chat with the folks since we can't be back and po2 got Ian a doraemon lantern aft he pestered her last Wed when she came by our pl and he was most pleased to go next stn which was Uncle Eugene and Auntie Esther's pl.....he is so so familiar with Auntie Esther that he was calling for her almost the whole time....we had a gd time with Ps Boey learning abt setting a godly family and it was timely since the 4 families there will be having a newborn soon.....we did take a grp pic of us all preggy and it was quite hilarious, will post it when Eugene sends it to us, it felt like some photoshoot was he was quite pro with the tripod and all

Well well it was a nice catching up wkend esp we are due for a new arrival soon and esp with mama's friends trying to meet up before she pops, guess the day is really coming near =p SEIZE THE TIME!!!

The day the boy visited an opticial shop!!!

No, its not for him who need glasses but daddy. For the longest time, we have avoided bringing him to an optician reason being it will take long and he would be impatient when he was younger but today we brought him and yes, he went straight to trying on the glasses. After realising the kids' glasses corner, he tried almost every colour....sigh here's the pinkish one with some flowery stuff at the side

And here's him posing with the blue one which he liked and was striking alot of poses with it hhhmm as if some modeling of spectacles huh

Then was the white one which he thought looked cool....anw glad the uncle and aunties in the shop din scold him for making a mess coz daddy took some gd time having his eye check and then confirming the glasses he wanted and if its an annual thing, we gonna have headache with this boy who thinks wearing glasses is a fashion! No, we really hope he doesn't need any glasses anytime (except for his shades!)

We went for a POSER shot hahahaa

Last sat, we happened to be at Tiong Bahru plaza for lunch after visit gynae and optician....we were just wandering ard and there was giving out of this new drink and Ian loves such drinks and he will go up and get it on his own sigh.....and then the guy giving us cajoled us to go take pic on the jeep and since we had time we went for it to get a free pic hahahaa and Ian literally sat on the jeep and this crazy mama went climbing onto the jeep with the big tummy (thinking daddy will join in hhmm) and then we posed for this shot hahahaa, just one of the silliest thing we did recently!!! hahaha but it was a nice momento and sitting on a JEEP!!!

Ian is 4 yrs and 5 mths old!

This national day, Ian turns 4 yrs and 5 mths old and he has become more dramatic than ever hhmm in a gd way he's more entertaining at home but sometimes can get overly dramatic hhmm but he's still shy in front of pple he dun know so well but after spending some time together he gets acquainted with pple easily hhmm so wonder wat kind of character he is since he can be so so active and yet so shy at times but well most pple say its gd since he behaves well outside but well guess only we parents can see the 'wild' side of him sigh and perhaps need more discipline back home!

This mth we see alot of his arty side as well eg he has lots of this rolls back home and he started drawing faces on them and put on the table and he even got daddy, mummy and lots of smaller ones to form a family hhmm dunno whether its art or mess back home hhhahaa, he even drew paintings and even pasted on his room wall as if he is having some art gallery back at his home!

And this is a taller roll which he has used his fav blue tac and made faces with it on them (ie the eyes, nose and mouth) and it is quite cute seeing how he wanna pose with them and insist wanting to take pics with the whole family!

And mama tries to seize time by bringing him out to playground and this poser will take pics with diff pose and ask mama to take some angles of him and he would stand them to smile and pose for mama, guess these shots are gd memory of spending time alone with him since its the few rare moments we have out of home since it has proved to be too warm for mama to go out with the big tummy these days hhmm but its worth to go out to capture such shots of the happy boy

And this is a shot Ian took of himself while figuring out the 2 way camera with mama's iphone and he was truly amused with how he could capture himself smiling at the camera hahaa except with partial of his hand blocking it but gd try

On a shopping trip while waiting for daddy to try clothes, he chanced on this manequin and insisted wanting to take a shot capturing him shaking his hand hahhaaa he usually dun shake hands with strangers even with pastors in church but in this shop he took at least 10 over funny shots of him doing funny poses and guess that's the way he entertains mama at times....well just keep these shots to remind him of such funny moments he had in his growing up years!

Beside the crossword puzzle he has started on, mama has been pressing on him to do more writing esp the smaller letters since he has mastered the capital letters and then we started on writing the verses we learn from BSF and on the 1st occasion he was quite keen but soon he was getting abit fidgety as he was getting some letters wrong but upon writing the whole verse he was so happy to see the 'fruition' of his labour hehheee and now it's a every wk homework to do after BSF on Mon!

Another change in him is Ian is on NO NAP this mth and he is usually without nap on wkdays as it's easier to manage him rather than getting him to nap and then waking him up with a grouchy mood and wonder why he knew the change in him as he started saying he doesn't need nap and seeing how he is able to skip nap and still energetic till nite (yes, sleeping at 830pm at nite and still talking and yakking away) and mama had to remind him to zzz early to wake up early for sch the next morning. Except for wkends on we have to go out, he seems sleepy on car seat and we need to nudge him to stay awake but with long journeys its hard.....so we are still in the midst of trying him out with no nap but it has been quite successful we must say except he spends less time with daddy if daddy comes back late on wkday nite and that's the con abt skipping nap

One people, one nation and one singapore

On this national day, we spent a gd 12 hrs out of house busying ard City Hall area but we din go the parade but we had lots of fun. As we did the 'reservation' for the train workshop at the Art Museum so our 1st stop was the Art Garden (again!) and the kids were happily dropped off at the workshop and they kept saying it was loads of fun doing up the train tracks hhmm not so sure what they did but it was whole load of tracks and trains in the room, glad we made the booking coz the place was super crowded coz it was PH and free admission to all

The kids went to the Glass Hall and did colouring before walking out of the museum and took a pic of the rabbit which was the icon of the Art Museum which they did do a colouring painting with the art museum behind but well we did spend a gd fair bit of 2 days at the museum and hope they have this liking to going museum hahhaa tho must say this museum was nicely done and the next museum visit might not be so entertaining as this one! It is highly recommended for kids and its now on till end Aug!

Walking past the many buildings with red and white stuff we had to take this since the kids (and us!) are dressed in the color code too and guess this is the 1st yr Ian truly understand National Day since this is the 1st yr he attended sch and he's appreciating more of the songs and even the diff cultures and also the singapore flag and he knows it's Singapore birthday!

After a long walk to Suntec and having lunch and shopping there, we went on 'scouting' for a place to check out the parade and fireworks and after going ard, we finally settled at the Promonotory which was holding the NUS rag and flag day as well so we got our 'picnic dinner' and settled behind them watching the jets, helicopters passing us and yet we could enjoy the food at our comfort with a big screen tv to watch part of the parade

We were pleased to be able to spend this National day out of the norm and guess it's the most memorable one thus far since we hardly got chance to catch the fireworks and parade out of home as Ian is more able to 'dong' thru all the night and better able to appreciate the things going on and we had this gd shot in front of the MBS hhehee

And then it was the waiting for the fireworks and due to the crowd coming on, so Ian was on daddy's shoulders also coz he might be afraid of the loudness of the fireworks but well glad he's more prep for this fireworks and was truly flashing in front of our eyes

But the camera din quite do justice to the beautiful fireworks which was bursting in front of our eyes as we saw many diff formation, in hearts and flowers as well and guess it was a whole day out but we really enjoyed this special day we shared with the nation and now Ian is asking us if he could have fireworks on his birthday hhwaaahhhhh as if it comes real cheap huh

We went to the Singapore Art Museum - The Art garden

The past Mon was a National Day celebration in sch but we have BSF so told the kids they weren't going sch....Ian was most disappointed as he heard there was a 'party' and there gonna be lots of fun and singing since he's been learning all the national day songs....well well guess learning the God's word is more impt than having fun so we decided and 'win' them over with a Happy meal treat after BSF and then we adjourn to ah mu's pl for joy's nap (as Ian is almost skipping nap already) and then we headed to Singapore Art museum as we heard alot abt the Art garden which is had lots of activities for the kids and the kids loved it!

We explored the train setting and there was a workshop going on but its fully subscribed so we made 'reservation' for the next day coz its free admission on National Day and we asked for the earliest slot, hoping there will be lesser pple. So we explored the whole museum and what we couldn't do, we could do it tmr since it was relatively crowded since alot parents took lve to bring the kids there today as well

There was this station that u could get a fruit template and fold the 'paper fruit' and had to do all the gluing and stuff before the final product could be done and so Ian chose an orange and we did do it after much try and the kids were just happy with the finished product which they saw so many fruits on display.

There was this station which had the stick on kind of different clothes for the 'model kid' and they just love tearing the clothes' velco and then sticking on different shoes and face for the 'model' and this was Ian's fav with the superman S

They were really happy at the museum and we were pleased to have dayi with us coz they just love her and then we went for this room which had lots of kids related art movies and it was interesting to see how art is being put into movie and then we went off for dinner after spending almost 2hr+ at the museum and we could come back tmr tho the kids wish they could stay longer but well the holiday is here!

Ian's 1st crossword puzzle

After BSF on Mon, Ian decided he doesn't need a nap and he went ard the house looking for stuff to occupy his time and he dug this activity bag he got when we last came back from Perth on the Qantas flight....for some time already he has been bugging mama to play the crossword puzzle in the iphone and he can't quite spot the words and he would bug mama to find the words and then he would then do the puzzle.

Today, he decided to do this Elmo puzzle and he was bugging mama to find the words and after looking for 3 words, mama decided to ask him to look for his own and seeing how intently he was looking for them, he was really SURPRISED when he found the 1st word.....mama saw his eyes went tracking ard the puzzle and each time he found a word, his eyes just sparkled with the words 'I did it!!!' and out of 10 words, he found 7 of them and it was truly a GREAT achievement for a boy who always love doing puzzles but never thot he could do it on his own and now he's bugging mama to get more...wonder if there are such resources for kids which has bigger prints and easier puzzles....wonder if it runs in the genes coz the puzzles are mama's fav and daddy is quite gd at Sudoku hahahaa wonder when he could do Sudoku that is the ultimate! Just a surprise out of an ordinary afternoon spent together
