The day when our family of 3 becomes 4!!!

We waited for some time before this day came coz our little bundle of joy did not wanna come out to meet us before her EDD (which is 18 Sep) and our gynae does not allow us to go beyond 3 days so had to induce her to be out. Guess our prayer for her to be delivered in the day din quite fall thru coz we need to be at hosp at midnite so had to have ah baa to come over our pl to accompany Ian thru the nite sleep but Ian was gd but strange that he chose ah baa rather than po2 or even going over ah baa's pl to zzz but it was gd that mama could accompany him into deep sleep before sneaking off to hosp coz couldn't catch any wink of sleep in the labour ward at all.

The waiting was 8 hr before mama could get the drip to induce but before the induce came, the pain was quite intense already (ie the contractions kicked in) and perhaps din quite need the drip but gynae gave instructions for drip and midwives had to follow (sigh so much abt SOP!) anw thereaft the drip came the whole process came so so fast for us to react as mama asked for pethidine and it fell on deaf ears just coz our doc din give any instructions! And so mama was in INTENSE pain and all the midwives just left rm at each request for pethidine and mama was wishing to see the gynae real soon but he din turn up sigh so we just had a ALL NATURAL labour and soon our little one came out after 30 mins of pain and we just had to wait for gynae's grand arrival to do the rest of the work. Anw we were all glad she came out real fast coz we could get a single ward and our boy was most happy to have his bed with us as well (they had this giant cot for him as a bed, wonder if he's the baby or our new born hahaa) coz we all slept in the room and had the newborn being fed in the nursery so we could have a a gd nite sleep.

It seemed more like a hotel stay than a hosp stay for Ian as our families came by to visit us and he was showing his bed and his stuff to all. Guess we were all glad in a way mei2 came so swiftly (tho with much much pain!) and Ian could come bunk in with us (else can't imagine if we were in double suite and with all the rara!) Anw he din quite sleep well as think it was more of a staycation for him as he was hopping ard soon the next morning tho we were preparing him to go sch and all the nurses were teasing him abt going to sch in uniform hahaa but that boy sabo-ed us when daddy fetched him to sch and he called mama to say he's tired and was coming back to hosp! Sigh what an excuse and mama just had to ask gynae if could have an early discharge and was glad all cleared and we were all going home!

And this time we were returning home 4-some and with our new bundle of joy and Ian has been most excited to show and tell pple of his mei2! He's so sticky to mei2 that he's always requesting to stay home and not go out and mama just had to remind him that mei2 will not disappear and will still be home when he returns and he's always happy to come home saying 'I am HOME!' and then go and sayang her mei2 hehehe....its quite heartwarming to see how the little boy is embracing his new sibling and surely he has this new love for his little sister as he's always making sure she's alright but we are also making sure we dun leave him out in the process of taking care of the newborn. We will have alot of family time this wk as daddy is on lve and we are adjusting to this new addition to the family and guess Ian's too as well since the cries for nite feeds might disrupt his sleep and the need to nap endlessly with the newborn might be a new thing to the boy who doesn't need any nap. We are still adjusting from a 3-some family to a 4-some one! So do pray alongside with us but thanks for all ur well wishes and blessings and prayers bestowed on our family! We are so glad God has given us this new addition and truly seeing us thru the labour process even when we were so faithless, God has remained so faithful!

Ian's 1st item presentation at church sch sunday

Mama is real glad she din miss this presentation Ian had at the service today as it was Ian's 1st time presenting a song item at the main service as it was Church Sch Sun. The song was 'I stand amazed at the presence of the Jesus the Nazarene' and the Sun Sch has been rehearsing for some wks and Ian has been singing the song back at home. Although the pre-schoolers were supposed to just sing 1 out of the 4 stanzas, it was gd enough as his main part was to do action for the chorus which goes 'How marvellous, how wonderful and my song shall ever be. How marvellous, how wonderful is my Saviour's love for me!'

Daddy did capture the actual presentation but we got the rehearsed version we did back at home with him with a you-tube video we found on ipad and that was gd prep for him before Sun's actual presentation altho there was abit of monkeying ard coz he did for some umpteen times and on Sun he was more prim and proper, maybe coz all eyes were on them hahhaha. This is truly a reminder of God's marvellous and wonderful love as we see how Ian has grown over the time going for Sun Sch and even BSF and reading God's Word! And truly the love of God shall forever be our song!

A movie date to watch SMURFS!

For some time already, Ian has been asking to go movie and the last we thot we might watch the last movie then but today we had another opportunity coz daddy went to apply Discovery Ctr pass thinking we could catch Cars but the show is no longer showing there so we were going to watch smurf but before that we had some time to kill so we drop by IMM for some shopping of stuff (seem never ending!) and Ian had his fun at the hopscotch which we haven't visit the place for some time already!

then we had some cooling ice cream at Andersens' of Denmark hhmmm just feeling too hot under the weather with the haze ard but the boy was most happy with his 4.5 yo bday ice cream treat as if we owe him huh....anw who does he look more alike in the pic???

Think he truly looks like his daddy in this pic hhahaa somehow they just look so like father and son huh esp the love for chocolate and ice cream hhmmm

Yes, we finally got to the discovery ctr for the show and it was packed with pple already....hhmm wonder why so many pple come here for movie?? Issit coz they got coy pass too??? Anw we were quite pleasantly surprised they have glasses for kids already coz we rem we had to make do with HUGE 3D glasses for Ian the last times we came....this fit really well on him tho he wasn't too keen after some time coz he din understand why wear glasses when the theatre is so dark already hhhaaaa

Well he did enjoy the show altho he was afraid of the bad guy from time to time and would cover his eyes and ask to go, yet he loved the smurfs and their singing and guess he knows the characters better and knowing his papa smurf is the hero, he seemed to love his figurine more altho he also likes the smurfette....sigh wonder why this love for gals hahhaa quite a gd show for us to catch to rekindle the 'kids memories' we have when we watch the cartoon when we were younger and now we are watching with our little kid hhhmm

And after the show, Ian just had to visit his 'robot friend' in the ctr which is the Junior George, we had to scout for him hhahaaa coz they changed him apparently and he got upgraded....now he seems so sophisticated coz he is barely 1 yo and he could talk so well...this time was real interactive as in he could sense pple ard and have eye contact and even asked for ur name and rem Ian's name and asking why he isn't talking to him hhahaaa and Ian was totally stunned by the intelligence of the new friend and was so shy thru out...well daddy believed there must be a person operating the robot coz he seemed too smart to be an ordinary robot but well hhmm who will know the mystery??? Anw we had a gd day out as a family of 3 and this must be the last 3D show we are watching before we could all catch it together again!

A finale to the wk hols....

It was truly nice to spend the wk hols with his cousins on some of the days and we had dayi joining us after her recent trip and on fri, we made a trip out and had pre-empt Ian in case he wanna a longer stayover at po2's pl but it was a nice break for mama and daddy as we could have our perhaps last couple dinner while Ian's over at po2's pl so it was quite a gd time of break for us during this Sep hols

Anw this morning we headed towards airport to welcome ah baa back from biz trip and before the welcome, we had a lunch break at the macs and the kids welcomed such treats as they could eat unsupervised as they would just enjoy the meal without fuss and of coz the toy treat. Ian was happy with his papa smurf while the cousins wanna wait for their fav in latter wks....anw wonder how come Ian is so ok with papa smurf when he has yet to watch the movie hhmm

Thereafter we went to visit the West Coast park since there was a hazy overcast but yet not hot for the kids to run ard the area and Ian just enjoyed this huge 'swing' with beloved Joy jie2....a sure lazy way to enjoy the place but we had gd fun there as a round up to the wk hols and then adjourn to meet daddy for dinner at Vivo! Glad dayi was there to 'entertain' them as well as was kindof tiring for mama to go ard with Ian already hhmm

Happy 4.5 yrs old to Ian!

Din expect to be able to blog this but since the mei2 has yet to turn up so we could do a little celeb for the boy who just turned 4 and 1/2 yr old! A simple cheese cake for a cheese cake lover and he was thrilled to get this unexpected surprise but then his next qn was where is my present then?? hhmm asking for too much huh....anw he came home from po2's pl with 2 barbie dolls (hand down probably from mama last time) and he took pics with them as well but gosh couldn't upload the pic with us and the barbie dolls...arrghh and he has the papa smurf in front of the cake as it was his new addition to his toys just today!
This mth, he has finally mastered his small letters after much coaching tho there are still times he will ask if some of his letters are correct, he is getting better and will wanna learn to spell words, this mth he has learnt to spell 'car', 'will' and 'vet' and some from the books he got back from sch....guess he is slowly picking up for english unlike chinese which he is so fond of writing the words on his home white board!

Just 2 wks ago, mama was picking him up from Sun Sch class and saw the teacher helper taking a pic of them with their crowns and thot it was nice and manage to capture a shot tho most of them not from his class but it was nice knowing he is slowly making friends in Sun Sch and at least he talks more abt the boys in his class tho he doesn't specifically pt out any gd friends unlike his sch!

Yes, 1 of the mornings we were so early in sch and we managed to sneak into his class to take photos of every corner of his class so he can tell me where he sits and what each side of the class was for.....guess it was a rare chance esp mama wont have such luxury to roam ard when the bb comes and perhaps Ian will start on sch bus but Ian was proud to show the pics to daddy in the evening, guess he spends so much time in sch and he wanna tell us stories abt how he spends his time....now we know why he loves writing on the white board coz his lao shi also writes on the white board and that's where he picked up writing of chinese words....but we only took pic in the chinese class, hhmm wonder how the english classroom is like....

This 1 wk break, Ian had loads of time with his toys and he was asking for every toy which he hasn't played for some time and he was thrilled with this whale puzzle which dayi got for him during the perth trip when he was only 2.5yrs old and today, he could finish the puzzle by himself as it was a little tough as it had all the weird shapes but he was patient enough to finish it by himself!

Yes yes preparing for the arrival of his beloved mei2 and it was nice how he wanna do some things for mei2 and even greeting gdnite and gd morning to bb at times, just wonder how the 2 will play when she is really old enough to play but we are still anticipating for the arrival just as much as the boy is but the funny thing is he could never have the chance to feel mei2's kicks coz whenever mama places his hands on mei2's kicks, she will stop kicking hahhaaa maybe can feel the gor2's hands huh

this mth has been quite a celebration mth for this growing up boy and seeing how he was singing National day songs gustily and now singing all the malay songs as well hahhaa sometimes wonder if he's a malay coz he just love singing Chan Mali Chan and he can even rem the malay lyrics and will wanna do the actions as well and this is the time mama then realised the song is abt a goat hahhaaa coz his actions got a goat thingy and then read the translation the sch did and then learnt something new hahhaha

Time flies coz it was abt 6 mths ago we found out abt the little addition to the family and she is coming to meet us v soon and Ian has turned 4.5 yrs old too and he has surely matured alot over the 6 mths and hopefully he is matured enough to embrace his little sibling too as he will no longer be the only child in our family but to share the love with his mei2!

Last trip up north?

It has been abt 3 yrs we have been making trips up to North for stay over trips at Po2 and Ah gong's place and Ian has always been excited abt them.....he started when he was abt 15 mths old and guess at that time, he din know v much abt stayover but he din resist the parting of mama when mama had to go and today, he is still happily saying 'Bye, mummy!' but till today, it has not not been easier for mama to lve him there...wonder issit a mama thing but yet we know he will have his fun and freedom there when we leave him there and we could have some 'space' for ourselves too...with the coming of the little one, just wondering if that will be Ian's final stayover coz it will be tough bringing the little one up down train ride when she comes along or even whether po2 they will shift down soon.....tho po2 was joking if mei2 could stay over and Ian stays home but he immediately answered NO! Guess he still loves the pampering he gets over at the place and he sure gets alot more freedom and fun there! Well well just a thot that flashes past mama's mind while we were on the train ride! Each time we take a ride up it just make mama realise the boy has grown up so much, mama used to have to 'entertain' him with Cheerios (eating secretly since it's not allowed eating but wasn't so strict in the past!) till today he could be easily appeased with a paper and pen and he could just doodle away writing his stuff and drawing! How this boy has grown!

And just a sidenote, we used to take train rides which can be crowded at 9+ since the direction is towards Raffles Place and there will be some nice pple who would give up seats for Ian seeing him being a toddler but it was getting tougher lately...wonder if pple are less civic minded and today when we took, its been some time since we took train and with mama's BIG tummy, it was quite awkward when we stopped by Outram station and this man just tapped to wake this other man up sitting on the reserved seat and pointed to mama before he got out of the train. It was quite awkward coz he meant to wake the man up for mama to take the seat before getting off the train and thereafter the man did wake up and stood up looking real blur and next moment an auntie just happily plopped into the seat....hhmm mama just felt so awkward and bring Ian to another side of train. Well just wondered if we would take the seat if the auntie din sit on it, it is just so awkward to be taking train or bus at this preggy state aarrggh dilemma hhahahaa
