First was a bird, now it is a bear!

Ya Ian is into the mid of his 1st term for art enrichment coz it's 8 lessons per term n he has learnt to draw e bear. Looks cool rite? Except e head not stuck to body. Seems like 'outsource' art helps him in getting ideas what to draw!

The sun is out n we headed to Labrador!

Yes, so glad e sun is out this morning n since we hv been under e weather for past 2 wks, just glad to b out in nature to clear our lungs n noses! Hee n Ian was excited to go cycling n we headed to Labrador hoping to check out e new walkway but din get to walk on it as it was too hot aft Ian's cycling n play at e playground. But was a Gd time breathing e nature air! So glad we r all back to health!

Origami time

Since we started on daily schedule for Ian, mama found herself 'trapped' coz ran out of ideas for art n craft time n happened to chance upon this origami app on iPad n e instructions are clear. Coz earlier bought a pack of papers but e illustration is bad n ended up getting frustrated. This is a rare chance Ian has iPad in front of him (usually its allowed during daddy time) n so far it's easy tat he could do e origami on his own (except for e tough folds)

Here's a pic of him folding a drinking cup, he has done boat, duck, flower, star, fox n there r still more tougher ones like giraffe, pig, penguin just tat mama is afraid too tough for us coz they did indicate e no. of steps hhmm at e time being its 2 origami a day!

Growing an apple tree?

Ian has been taking an apple a day for wks n he is loving both red n green apple, tho he has a preference for green apple. N dunno y out of e blue he started asking for apple seed n was collecting every other day n daddy started asking him to try growing them. So here's a pic of him with his apple plant, hoping to grow into an apple tree. He was really happy to see how his apple seed grew into a seedling n then to a little plant. He's hoping to grow e plant in a pot hhmm his dear daddy din tell him it's tough to grow apple tree in spore coz of e climate. Anw it's a Gd way of seeing how a seed can grow n wonder if we will transfer it into a pot. Guess we also nv really tried growing 1 in our childhood huh

1st art painting

Today Ian brought back his 1st art painting (completed in 3 wks) it does look decently Gd hee. Despite his comment of boring class, he seemed quite pleased w his art piece tdy. Din expect a 3D one but it does look impressive for a K1 kid n he sure is looking fwd to next art 'project' n we are sure he is loving art more! So worth e staying back time:)

Learning draw bird in art class

Being in K1 in Ian's sch, there have been enrichment classes lined up for them and we have always wanted to send him for art class as he seems to love drawing and painting...so this term we signed him up which has started 2 wks ago....just that sch seems really long for him as his usual sch is 830-1230pm and the art class starts at 1-2pm as he has 30 mins lunch break (which is the same snack as what he takes at tea break as lunch) and then he waits another 30mins to come back with the afternoon nursery kids....ie 230 so he comes back abt 240 pm which seems really long but it has been gd for the boy who doesn't need nap so Mon is extended time mama has with Joann!

Except that 1st wk he came back complaining it's boring coz it's just drawing hehehe and it was bird in a cage....2nd wk was just coloring well he was looking fwd to t-shirt painting or some stuff hhmmm well that day he drew the birds on the white board....well it looked decently gd so captured the shots....well mama rem those days when we were kids we just copy teacher's drawing off the blackboard and that was art class in our days and now he's complaining....sigh well shall see how he does at the end of the 8 wks and whether he truly enjoys it else could switch other classes....for the time being he seems gd staying back in sch....sigh sounds abit early to stay back in sch for classes but it is sure gd to save on the ferrying to go classes outside....now there is other classes like abacus, chinese calligraphy, inline skating and speech and drama....sounds gd huh

New found love - Kueh bangkit

Though e new yr has ended, Ian's feasting of cny goodies has not ceased as he chanced upon this Kueh bangkit when e Sch bus auntie gave him 2 pcs b4 cny n he kept it till he reached home to show mama what he has found sth nice n then told him its Kueh bangkit.

Po2 happened to hv a container of it n then brought it to our pl n since then Ian has been 'savoring' on it n it definitely brought back alot memories when po2 was baking them every cny when we were younger n we could savor it everytime she was baking them. It's a waste she din write down e recipe else e kids w b happy to help baking them. For now, Ian is just contented w his Kueh bangkit n it seems his cny has not ended yet somehow

1 more mth to Ian's bday!

Ian has been slowly counting down to his bday and now he knows after Seth gor's bday it's his and he is happy it's finally his turn! This mth, he has started sch and still loving sch and the hrs has extended by 1 hr and guess he's enjoying his time when back home adn wanting to play more adn more but well he has his schedule to follow and he's always so looking fwd to daddy's time coz he knows its more fun!

Since they started going music class together, it's nice to see how daddy is coaching him to do the singing and even the homework hehhee doing some of the boys stuff together like getting the 'Do' note with some actions.....just love such moments when the man is bonding with his son! hahhaa

Last wk po2 came by and helped to get the ikan bilis heads off and Ian was also busying himself to help ahhaaa even putting the brick game aside to do it huh hheee cool....anw po2 brought this old brick game for the kids din get ipad fun hahhaaa back to brick games days huh but it's interesting to see how they pick up the playing game

Yes, we also went to Sentosa flowers and saw this lion which was pretty lighted up at nite, guess we shld try go at nite when Joann is bigger czo the pics somehow look diff in day and nite huh but we are truly glad we made it this yr

And this da tao soldier is Ian hhahaaa he was so happy to be on the luge....looking at how he is into such games it makes us realise this boy has grown up....he is asking for Luge, bumper car, roller coaster and took the carousel thinking it was too slow hhmmm guess he is into next stage of exploring what he could do which is more adventurous....our little boy is truly growing up!
Cant wait for the day we could go Disneyland and take those roller coaster rides together hhhaaa but by then perhaps our weak hearts can't take so much like now hhheee

And this boy loves to gong xi gong xi this mth esp with all the songs he has learnt in sch but he is truly happy with every ang bao he collects and can't wait to go bank to see his account with his $$ in it and perhaps some gift to go along?? This is the 1st yr he really know the thing abt ang bao and the $$ that goes in it but he is well taught in sch not to open it when he collects it which is gd hahhaaa at least not pai seh to see how much $$ is it

Yes, our dear boy it's another mth away before you can blow ur 5 candles and we know u can't wait for all the fun and celebrations.....but the time being it's more moulding needed as daddy is also into teaching the boy what he ought and ought not do.....we are teaching him if he does not appreciate what he has, the 'thing' will disappear before him.....he din take care of the toy and we just kept them and the other day he din call po2 before she goes and ipad was taken away from him altho it was daddy time and it was some bad crying but he just need to learn his lessons....guess this is the time to push for whatever habits we wanna inculcate in him however reading the book we got on Shepherding your child's heart....there is so much other things we wanna inculcate in him and not to just know his boundaries....so we are still learning as much as we wanna him to have this heart for others and not be so self centered....real tough but we need to do by bits.... we need to constantly look to God!

A wkend getaway to celebrate dayi's bday!

The last time we went to Tune Hotel Danga Bay, we loved the place for the vicinity has places to play and shop and lots of food to eat and so we decided to go again to celeb dayi's bday there and it was nice to drive in on Fri noon when the kids are off from sch and the adults took 1/2 day off and here we are at Bukit Indah for a tea break as there was our fav A&W, Auntie Anne's and even J Co donuts which we packed for bday celeb at nite....here are the happy kids with their rare tea break treats! And there they are huddled together with the bday gal who made this trip a meaningful and memorable one hehheee and they were busy choosing the donut they wanted for bday celeb that nite!

And we went off to the Danga Beach to explore the area and also to give the kids a 'glimpse' of the fun they could get in the evening as we thot it would be nicer to take the rides when the sky is dark and so here we are having our early dinner before the fun begins! And it was nice dinner place except there were not so many patrons and so the wandering cats were surrounding us and the city dwellers like us just dun like cats preying on our food or even begging we dro[ some food...the kids just couldn't keep their eyes off the cats and were worried the cats might jump on them.....anw we just quickly finish our food for the fun coming up!

Here we are at the fun fair booths where u purchase tickets adn choose the game u wanna play and hope to win some prizes....well well not much crowd tonite since its not wkend and the kids had the whole place to themselves and they took a long time to choose the game they wanna play and the sponsor is behind them hahhahaa

And here are their 'prizes' well we adults dun think the prizes worth much but it meant a world to the kids hahhaa look at their smiles....anw the next part was to give each RM$12 for them to choose what they wanna play either the rides or they could play the booths....

The kids all had their fun on the infamous tea cup and both the younger ones wanted to go with dayi as they were afraid gor2 might be too adventurous to spin the tea cup but ended up dayi said the dare dare one was Ian coz he was spinning on the tea cup and kept saying it wasn't fast enough hahhaaa and wanted to go faster hhmmm so much abt thinking he might be the scaredy one....anw he did want to take faster rides but guess no one really had the 'heart' to take with him as he did tell us he wanted roller coaster hhmm maybe some time later huh

Then the both younger ones wanted take the horse caruosel and they were just happy with the glittering horses with just 2 of them taking the ride....yea seems like we booked the whole place huh hahhaa but well wonder if it's worth the $$ just to operate the place with so few pple anw we just loved the place which is v much like our times Wonder Land hhmmm just not so crowded
Seth being the older kid, din wanna spend $$ on such rides and wanted to bring home some stuff and then we adjourned back to the booths where they chose the games and they won more prizes but this time even dayi and daddy also wanted to lay their hands on the games hhhehee it was a nice evening for all!

We then went back to hotel and gather to celebrate dayi's bday and here are the happy kids with their donuts and even for Joann who had a short nap at the danga bay and here she was happy to be on the bed....guess she missed her bed most ahhahaa but it was nice to capture a shot with her coz the whole day has been all abt the bigger kids hhhmm guess by the time she really grows up all these amusement park is no fun for the older cousins huh

Here is the grp of us who made this trip a possible and fun one ...tho it was just a short getaway but it meant alot to us as it was a break from the routine to gather together and have some crazy fun together hehhee we shld do it again some time huh! It was nice for Ian to be able to share room with dayi and then our family could take a room and ah mu's family got their connecting rooms so we all could sleep on the bed and then we all could go for some shopping and fun and meet up with ah baa

the next day we went Tebrau and the kids loved the amusement fun and this time it's indoor while the ladies go shopping and the kids have their fun with the men looking aft them and the kids were thrilled with the machines and the 2 younger ones could share on the joy rides as the space is HUGE!

And then we ended the fun with a celebration at ah gong and po2's place and had yuan xiao dinner. Here we are celebrating Seth's bday and wishing him a yr wiser with God as he enters the school phase and may the Lord's peace be with him everyday!
We were all glad this trip was possible and we all had so much fun and laughter and we thank God for such times!
