A busy Sunday

This is e 3rd wk we r attending party, last 2 wks were full mth n 4 mth n tdy is adana's 1st bday party.

Tdy Ian had his sushi making experience at sun Sch, yes e face looking sushi is 'designed' by him n he was so proud of it! Aft sun Sch, he was invited by auntie Lorraine to go children's choir for a visit. There r alot of jie2s whom Ian adores there so he din quite hesitate at all. He attended part of YI svc w jiu2 as in e pic. These 2 days he had spent quite a fair but of time w auntie Lorraine n jiu2. He's quite happy to follow their car to e east for e bday party while we headed 1st w uncle kelvin n aunt Xiuli. It was nice meeting up w uncle ben's fam again as we hv not met them at least for a yr?

Aft e celebration, we had to rush for Ian's music class which he enjoys w his daddy n off we went ah maa's pl for dinner. Wat a busy sunday but eventful Sunday we had!

1st Chinese movie!

We got some movie tics to use up as past few wkends been too busy so we wanted to catch this Chinese movie by e xiao xiao bin but as e show doesn't seem so popular, we were glad we could make it for this show w it's few screenings islandwide. We explores shaw at balestier, nv been there but e cinema hall only had us n a couple hmm issit e rain or coz it's Chinese movie?

Anw Ian was as usual, was excited abt watching movie n we went in early to sit n wait n later e boy even 'hopped' seats, yes he tried sitting a few rows in front n at e side. Hmm guess he din catch much of e Chinese words but it was a Gd show to foster closeness between father n son n some of e 'crazy' things they could do together hee quite a touching show. Thereaft debrief w Ian hee but Gd start to watching Chinese movies, it's been so so long. Gd thing got subtitles hee

The boy who loves art and also to create

This boy has grown to love drawing and it's interesting to see how he's drawing and just last Sun he was gobbling up his food so fast at ah maa's pl just to do drawing an d just yest he was asking mama what she loves him to draw and he started drawing this girl as mama asked him to draw mei2 hheee yes with a care bear belly badge which is Lollypop.....quite amazed how nice his drawing was getting

  he is into a new term of art and craft, it's interesting to see what he is creating things and last wk he brought back the boat with a river he has drawn in and how it looks? Thot it was kindof inpressive. And the last pic of his created art piece was with his blocks and he told mama it was a church coz he was doing diff formation when mama was settling mei2 to sleep and it was nice to see ow the boy is coming up with stuff with his own imagination! Just keep on drawing and creating stuff

Learning maths by e fun way!

Always think our way of learning is e boring way (coz read of friend's blog of how she's training her 2yo n it seems fun!) n yest Ian taught mama a fun way. He was playing his usual blocks ferried by trucks n when mama came by, he started using blocks to do numbers n soon he started giving mama maths sums.

N we took turns to give each other. To mama's surprise he was Gd at addition haha. We hv been so much into nouns, pronouns, verbs that we hardly get into maths. Hmm maybe coz mama feels its a thing e boy will pick up easily coz mama is a maths lover haha. Anw he's into Chinese too like he would come back n show mama he learnt 头 or 耳 or 舌 tdy n he would b so proud to say some tang Shi n yest he even recited luke 6:31 in Chinese. Impressive!

Yes, back to maths so was surprised he could calculate 7+7 n 5+7 kind coz we nv taught him n mama became naughty like gave him 11+11 n he was like mrs Wong din give so tough ones hee. Anw he gave mama 100+10 kind sigh if he knows how to do million he prob gave it hee. Anw it was fun n knowing how Ian is loving maths n it was tough doing numbers w wooden blks n he seem to figure it out faster n better than mama. Anw mama is gonna clone him into a mathematician or statistician haha help....

Love for ART

In the recent wks, Ian has been so into art that he must be doodling or drawing something whenever and wherever, wonder issit a habit we inculcated in him during meal times when outside as he's always asking for paper and pencil to draw and even walking ard (sometimes) like last wkend we were out to Ikea and he asked to draw as there were pencils ard but sometimes frustrating coz we cant be staying put at a place for him to draw so always ask him to do during meal times and seems like Apr is mummy's mth coz every day he will draw sth and tell mummy HAPPY BIRTHDAY and when told him it's over already, he will be like it's for next wk hheheee well bday every wk ya.....anw it's nice to hear that and he just loves drawing and even playing mummy's draw sth....yes, there was this 1 time he prob asked daddy what was the word and mummy must have forgotten and left the iphone with him and he saw PEAS and he tried to draw but was tough and ended up just scribbling...sigh my friend must be thinking what is wrong with me hahhaa anw she had the help of words and got the word sigh....gotta keep iphone clear as he's always wanting to help to draw hhmm

Since he's so into Art, decided to renew his enrichment class for another term and this was a drawing he drew for past wks and brought back yest.....super colourful bear and gathered he got the idea from watching care bears coz the bears are usually colourful and in rainbows....well applaud for our little artist hhhaaa more art pieces coming up?? yest he told us he did a boat on a river, hope there are more interesting stuff coming up in the art class for this little avid art lover!

Ian is 5 yrs and 1 mth old!

1 mth has passed since we celebrated his 5th bday and time really flies as it seems just yest we were busy with his celebrations.....guess the 1 wk break sped up the mth and the craziest thing we ever did was going for The Lorax movie 3 times in this mth and this boy just love going cinema hhmm a rare chance to gobble up popcorn and have fun at the theatre....

AND the best gift he got was this Love Alot care bear which he 'won' at danga bay hahaaa he is crazy over care bear now coz of the DVDs we borrow from library and so he's glad to get his hands on a care bear and he's always using it to 'cheer' his dear mei2 if she's fussing abt things or uncomfy well he's a gd gor2 in a way

And 6 mths being together has indeed change him FINALLY....at least now he knows he can't stomp into room when mei2 is sleeping and he can't make loud noises or be on the piano when the dear mei2 is snoozing and he will try to entertain his mei2 when she is awake either by playing the piano or reading some bks to her or even playing peek a boo....yes, he is surely adoring his sibling and glad this finally kicked into him after 6 mths of drilling hhheee but sigh he's so adoring his sis till he's always passing every germ he catches from sch....and poor mei2 is exposing to virus at really young age and hope she is able to fight against every bug

This mth we see a rather dramatic son.....yes, sometimes we wonder where the genes come from coz mama will always kid to daddy 'issit you were like this before' hahhaa coz every time he will do some silly acts which is really hilarious but can also make us mad like he will always 'woohoo...wow waaa....' when he gets down from the car which even daddy can't take it too hahaa it's like can't u get down the car just quietly .....why must do so much actions, wonder issit coz he watches too much cartoons yes talking abt cartoons....he's always been a dreamer but lately his dreams are quite far fetched....he can actually say he's in the cartoon with Dora and boots etc which is quite out of the usual dreams he has which usually is real pple but he can dream of himself in cartoons hhmm this is sth

Yes, we are entering into Palm Sunday and he's been asking quite abit like why mustJesus die on cross and why don't pple believe he is Jesus sent by God.....and we celebrated Easter last yr, why must we do it this yr and coz Qing Ming is also ard the corner and he's asking why we must offer flowers to the dead and not like something else....hhmmm guess he's reaching the age when he's asking more and more and seriously mama feels tired each day with his asking and will ask him to ask daddy when he's back but then again he will still ask mama even when daddy is home....guess it's the habit of asking and well we should answer him but sometimes must think thru before answering him but wonder issit coz it's mama who influenced him like must do things fast so he wants instant answers too....we shld start compiling a book of questions asked by Ian and perhaps he can give his own answers when he's grown up hhmmm something worth considering

This mth, he finally mastered writing one to ten and he's happy he learnt to spell seven and eight which he did take some time but something amazed us just the other day when he started reciting 'Do to others as you would have them do to you. Luke 6v31 ' and when mama heard she was like 'R u sure?" and checked the bible and indeed it was that verse (except his last bit is abit unsure kind) but seriously he got the chap and verse correctly....hhmm thot it was from Sun sch but ended up it was from his sch assembly, perhaps doing some value teaching coz they did write that they would be introducing 1 value to the kids every fornight and if the kid does the value that was taught, an encouragement would be given to them.....anw just amazes us how the teaching could get into Ian and guess his memory work shld be just fine.....besides our names and his cousins Seth and Joy, he rem Caitlin's name (yea Lorraine, he does know how to spell her name) and now trying to rem jiu2's name (which I wonder how come he's so keen in wanting to spell his name hahhaa) anw into another mth of growing of the 5 yo boy

Celebrating mama bday

Yes, Ian's calendar is filled w bdays so he is counting to everyone's bday by e mth n he's happy mama's bday is aft his n he even declared he's the cake cutter (e one who cuts e cake)

Tdy we had a day again. Went lib aft bfast n then headed to ikea to check out furniture n had lunch there n Ian din even wanna 'spare' e small choc cake we got in ikea lunch set, mama had a small bit n he ate e rest.

Thereaft we headed to sungei kadut to check out more furniture n met e rest of Chng clan to shaomu. We missed it last yr as was pouring when we nearing it n this yr we made it n while we were getting e flowers, Ian had tons of qns like why we din get rose or windmill n as we were early we visited a friend's tomb n he asked more like why some tombs got angels, flowers n cross. N of course he asked why our friend passed on n din understand y someone so young could pass on. Well we will all know when we meet God. Later on, he went up n down in Scout for chor-gong's tomb tho was wet everywhere. Guess he's been asking much since our neighbor magco went msia to qingming n he asked y we dun need take plane like her hmm lots of qns

We ended e nite w a dinner at hill top, it's been a while since we went there n we had so much food n ended w a cake for e bday celebration. It was nice spending e day w family n nothing beats spending time together like this n on such a day wanna thank God for FAMILY!!

Good Friday day out

Glad there is a day off fm e usual. As its tough to go for svc w a baby n kid so we decide for a day out to e nature to get some fresh air. It was Gd sunny weather in morning so we hit to ECP for Ian to do cycling n tdy we ventured to Bedok Jetty, hmm was crowded with anglers n Ian was checking out how they could fish under e hot sun. Yes, motivated him to cycle under e hot sun for a surprise at e end! Well kindof remind us of busselton jetty in Perth except e weather is much cooler there.

Ian got his thirst quencher surprise n he kept asking where we got e drink. Haha that is e carrot we made him peddle all e way under real hot weather.

Thereaft we headed to e mall coz dark clouds came n glad we made e right decision to hit to park in am. N we got some Gd shopping fun as we hv parties coming up in apr so need prep all e gifts n was just nice w all e sale. N Ian saw some cut out pix n he din hesitate at all n went to pose behind it. Well thereaft we went scouting for furniture near Alexandra retail centre which is relatively new mall n we visited e new mall as well. There's a pic of Ian playing at a kids' corner at e furniture mall. It was a nice day out as Joann was napping on e way n will spend some family time at home thinking abt Gd Friday as we hv this long wkend!

Easter celebration in school

Don't rem Ian had Easter celebration last yr but tdy he came back 1h earlier coz tdy they had activities for Easter n e boy came home v happy w e red egg. Yes, he's an egg lover even if e egg turned out not boiled to solid texture, he finished it in 2 mouthful!

Then asked what other activities he did, he watched a video abt Jesus dying n coming alive. His question was why it took God 3 days to make Jesus alive? Hhmm cheem huh but it turned out to b a Gd time discussing abt Easter season (tho he had lots qns prior, read coming up blog on his 5yrs n a mth old)

N he drew a Easter card 复活节快乐 n he drew our family in e card w 爸爸妈妈 words on it. Hhmmm wonder y no such celebration at sun Sch. Anw glad e Sch did it. N ending off, Ian sang a song he learnt n was a Chinese one, he sang w actions n alot memories for mama coz we learnt it in sun Sch, did u?

Been to the cinema 3 times in a wk???

Yes, it sounds crazy but it's true n it's watching e same show. All thanks to NFC that we won the tics n had to clear them b4 expiring this wkend n we gave some away n Ian din mind watching it again n we did it on sat w dayi ( also coz daddy din watch e full show last sat)

N b4 show we had some time, Ian was taking pics w dayi w e MIB haha looks quite funny rite. Anw Ian was actually anticipating some scenes which deem scary to him n he covered his eyes. Guess watching e 3rd time he knew e story really well n even looked out of e names which we were trying to rem like e 3yo gal who sang in e show n e littlest bear's name.

N aft show, he rem we went teppanyaki e wk b4 n asked for it but we din hv any more vouchers n went for lunch at Nihon Mura n e boy just wanted sushi n nothing else so he was so happy w his 3 sushi plates! Well this is prob e only time we will catch a movie for 3 times
