Start of Sch hols

It's e start of 4 wk Sch hols n daddy is taking lve to bring us out n tdy we headed to JB for some fun, food n shopping tho e boy really wish we could go to hotel. Too much of hotel lately huh

We went by a diff route n were looking for bf pl n chanced upon this 'Ah Keong' yong tau fu (v much talked abr by sporeans) so we blur2 chanced upon it n Ian loved its black noodles hee. Headed to tebrau for some arcade fun, yes it's animal kaiser there Ian is playing n of coz e joy rides which he couldn't resist since he knows he could only play in msia n e dear mei2 joined in hee. Worth e rm$1 huh.

Then went on for shopping n eating hmm just so glad to hv such day out ESP with e boy who is off fm Sch n need such days out tho he was most sad we are going back spore coz he wanted to stay on in msia n really badly wanted check in hotel sigh spoilt huh will so b looking fwd for our short rd trip in 2 wks time

Parents teacher conference

Another term has passed n it's our meet up with Ian's teacher. Having Joann n not being able to send Ian to Sch cuts off e comm we used to hv with teachers so this PTC is really a time to see if he is doing fine.

He's been getting Gd remarks on term work which we see every fri. Chinese he's getting 5 stars (nv thot any teacher w give so many stars) but teacher commented his writing is quite Gd n he's confident of his writing (ie little erasing needed) haha just when mama thinks he's a little messy.

And he hasn't got a new English teacher so e principal is standing in n our PTC wasn't supp to meet her coz it's only form teacher but while waiting outside e classroom, we chanced upon e principal n commented 'ur Ian can read v well' hmm is that a compliment coz we did see her comment on some of his worksheets n thot perhaps it's on almost every one's but now that she mentioned, maybe he really can read coz this is 1 of e few things to ask n his portfolio states that he can recognize words taught n that keeps as assured e boy is doing fine. But must say e principal seems to teach better on reading coz his previous 2 teachers din manage to get him on reading so much compared to now.

E teacher also commented on his Chinese vocab coz sometimes he finds it tough to express in words hmm need to read more to learn more Chinese words huh n 1 interesting pt that is tested is whether he knows his parents' names. Strange but he failed on that haha coz he only knows our English names n he can spell them but fail on Chinese part hmm strange to test on this. Anw time to buck up more on Chinese huh. Gd to b at his Sch n capture shots of his art pieces. Onward we move on to another term

'Tiring' Saturday!!

Some wks back, ian got an invitation fm his classmate, Timothy for his bday party at amazonia, indoor playground at gwc. Apprehensive if e boy will enjoy himself as he can b quite shy when w friends he is not close to so kept asking him to check out if his closer friends were going. He kept tossing between going or not till we missed e RSVP date but e mom was nice to include us.

Well well this boy is so keen on going n say this is more impt than our usual dinner at north. Anw it's hardly a chance we get such bday invite n he's quite close to this classmate. Hmm we started w swim in e morning which got him a little tired but yet he din wanna nap so we went for bday party n at e door he almost din wanna go in n was more at ease when he saw friends at e entrance.

He was stuck w 3 gals haha anw on this day then found out his friend Emily is actually Amberly sigh! We hv been calling her wrongly. Anw e other 2 gals is Isabelle n amberly's sis, Amelia. They were always in fours (yes, even e bday boy's mum also realized) coz they went endlessly ( it's really endless coz can nv get hold of them, they kept going up n down e long long slide) n were perspiring all over.

Then was time for party so they had snacks n then games n bday cake as well! It was nice catching up w his classmates' parents coz nothing else to do except chat there n found out stuff like Isabelle is shifting n Timothy has shifted n stuff. We stayed some Gd hrs there while daddy went roaming w Joann. Sigh so tough to ask e boy to go home coz know he's dead tired. For once, he's in bed b4 mei2 n he told mama his eyes are painful, prob too tired haha hmm n asked if he could host bday party there too. Gd thing overheard Isabelle asking her daddy too but it's e same answer: 'no, we do it back home as usual!' haha anw Gd nite to an unusual tiring Saturday for all of us!

Ian at English speech n drama performance

We were given an invitation to attend mid yr presentation for Ian's speech n drama in Sch. He's been attending it every wed as part of e cirriculum but it was nice to attend e performance to see what he's been doing coz every wk can see he's having lots of fun with drawn hands n face.

He din say much abt e performance but he did worry abt forgetting e line he's supposed to say or even his rat hair band dropping but this morning reminded him to project his voice coz in front of crowd, he might b afraid to say out loud. But much to our surprise, not every kid gets to say a line n he's 1 of e few chosen ones (prior to that, we thot it was a line each student) n he did it real well, we could hear exactly what he say in a hall full of parents as the K1s n K2s were all doing their round of performance. It was abt Rodylan, e cat n how e rats try to escape from e cat. So Ian was e 'smart' rat to say 'I know! Let's tie a bell around their neck'.

Glad we made it for this performance to see how bold a step our son has taken as never quite seen him doing any drama b4 so was a pleasant experience. The timing was rite, 12nn so daddy could go watch during lunch break n mei2 woke up from her am nap. Was an exciting experience n daddy did video down (request by Ian) but might b kindof blocked as every parent wanted to capture as well) but we did get a Gd view of Ian reciting e poems n also e play. What a memorable moment seeing him do something bold! Think it was an experience for him too as he din want e paint off his face even upon coming home

Celebrate mothers day

Ian has come home singing mother's day songs for past wk n has tried to b secretive abt making mother's day flower for mama n was so pleased to 'present' it yest upon coming down fm Sch bus. So pai seh for mama as e other parents or grandparent also picking their kids. Tdy we had a nice lunch at secret recipe where Ian had his burger kids' meal, portion looks big n he's super happy w his beef burger n there busy feeding biscuit to mei2.

He went a meeting w mama and thereaft we met e Chng clan for dinner opp church n we were all treated to cupcakes fm twelfth cupcakes. They look real yummy, see e grins on all e faces! Thanks dayi n we all loved it! Was a nice dinner fellowship at zi chat stall coz we haven't been there since e babies were born so nice pic to capture e 2 babies!

Ian is 5 yrs and 2 mths old!

This has been a mth of celebrations. We have been to 2 full mth parties, a bday party n also 2 PHs. We did some yum cha lately n at e last visit to red star, Ian liked e Siew Mai hmm but we had a Siew Mai making session in church for young adults n he din quite like it then hmm strange but well for e foodie boy, he's exploring more but reminding him to not to feed mei2 anyhow. Hope he rems!

Yes, he came back w balloons fm e parties n even last sun we were at orchard n Cadbury were giving out balloons he went for them too. 'share e joy today' was e caption on balloons n at e end of e balloon was tied a small Cadbury choc, boy was he overjoyed! Yes, sharing e balloon w mei2. He's also starting to share things w mei2 except that mei2 being baby doesn't know how to handle some stuff which makes him frustrates but yet train him to be patient. He's still loving his baby sister, his fav is to laze on bed w her ard even if it's his sister pulling his hair haha n he wanna feed his mei2 except that it gets messier hmm well now he knows it's tough to do it n well Gd training for him

This mth, we try to do some outdoor n e boy loves cycling n we went quite a few parks n it's ending off w 100 plus to 'motivate' him to do more outdoors n just glad there were 2PH to go out more w daddy!

With e last PH off fm Sch on mon, he was sad there was no art n craft. Lately he has been into doing art himself w his own imagination. Here is a paper ring he did, wonder where he got e idea n he did a few n was so proud of them n din want to give dayi even. Hmmm how priceless are his rings huh. Yes, been eyeing on mama's wedding ring n kept asking to take it off hmm

He's into coloring lately n alot of drawing so when we saw this huge color pencils at a mall, he went up straight pretending to pluck them out haha n later pose for this shot. Hhmm wat a change fm one who din quite like coloring to one who is doing well in his coloring now!

This mth, he had some chance to b with jiu2, auntie Lorraine n Caitlin n he just like to b w them at times (yes, away fm mama n daddy) hee but it's Gd, means he's getting more confident of himself tho hope he's not up to mischief hee. He's into 'boo' at pple. He is even doing it to neighbors we meet every morning hmm see he's getting more daring huh

We visited e waterpark n ian used to dislike this water jet thingy previously coz it gets water onto his face but aft a little warm up he was into e water fun n even took a pic w it. See that he's overcoming some of these 'fears' as he's growing up n glad to see these changes tho there are still areas we are training him to change. Yes, praying as we parent him on this journey!

My waterway@punggol

It's our 1st visit to this park at punggol as its far fm where we are but decided to venture on this PH since its near po2 ah gong's pl.

The kids couldn't wait to go e water park aft we were walking ard e park under e sun. We din quite come prepared w e swim gear but we did hv extra change so Ian went w his shirt n shorts. He was abit apprehensive abt going into e water but soon went crazy over all e water play with his cousins! It was fun play for them n soon e cloudy sky turned sunny n we all got our 'burnt' on when we noticed it in e evening as it din seem so scorching under e cloudy sky. Well well wat matters is they had fun n all in their dreamland now

Public holiday, we love!

Now Ian knows what happens on PH. No Sch n it's day out! He has been bugging to go cycling n we did aft bf. din plan with ah mu but we met them on e road (yes, car just beside each other) n jio-ed to go west coast park. We went ard 1st n chanced upon a fitness corner n told ian wat ippt test daddy goes thru n went thru each part w him. He was most kid for shuttle run n took pics of daddy n him competing. Then we met up w ah mu's family who were having bf. E kids haven't met for some time n played for a while.

We then parted for us to go get some stuff at jurong point then decided go hill top for lunch as e mall was too crowded. At e quiet lunch pl, we had a room n started feeding Joann her cereal n this was e 1st time she was in high chair n Ian was so excited to hear mei2 is on semi solid n wanted to feed her! Nice moment to see bro feeding baby sister! Hmm see long this can last haha but was nice to see how Ian was caring for her!

Then we had dessert n was mango pudding for Ian! We then went off to do more shopping n dinner. Just so glad to hv PH to bring such family moments!
