Teachers day celebration in school

Tdy being eve of teachers' day, there is celebration in school. However to make it more cosy, it's done at class level ie we parents get to go to e classroom w our kids for e celebration (v different fm those mass celeb) n it was Gd coz we can see e class dynamics n had some games as well.

Ya a mummy came up with games like 'guess ur student' by touching their hands n faces n another game recognizing their voices. It was Gd fun just being there n 王老师 came with other games for us to play ie guess e animal ur kid is gesturing n musical chairs for e kids. Makes us think back abt our childhood fun. Well then it was food time n everyone became so hungry suddenly digging into e many boxes of food in front. Well it was an enjoyable time for us all n this day truly glad there are teachers imparting alot of skills n knowledge to Ian n so glad he's so enjoying Sch every day!

Our sgm has grown over e past yr!

Yes, more babies in our small grp! Now e babies hv grown somewhat, we shld meet up n do something structured for e adults n e babies as well! We will meet on more a regular basis to be a grp to be accountable to.

Ian is v comfy w e group as he was asking endlessly e whole day when r we going for small grp. Yes, he's v comfy w all e uncles n aunties ESP jiu2 n auntie Lorraine r in e grp too! See him with his cousin Caitlin! He's like a big gor2 in the sgm n lots of babies to tend to. He was asking where r e other babies ie Adana. Hope uncle Ben n family can join us soon! So glad we r finally meeting up again! Ian would b most glad to hear this Gd news!

A dream comes true!

Before mei2 came along, Ian was anticipating sitting behind w mei2 in car seats but aft mei2 was born, he asked mama why mama is still sitting behind (ya can't wait for mama to 'disappear') coz Joann has been in infant car seat since birth n mama tried putting her in front but hard to get her out if need be so decided to squeeze behind w e car seats.

Recent wks, she started sitting up asking mama to carry her out, v dangerous not to belt her down n she seems ok if mama is not in car so decided to get her into e toddler car seat which has been Ian's car seat n today e brother was so elated to hv his sis behind w him. E girl looks happy to b behind w e bro but when tired, she was wailing but soon fell asleep n well start e hard training again! So it's a dream come true for Ian to b behind w his sis but wonder if he could take her wails if it continues. Anw mama got her front seat again haha aft so so long but looking at e space, hard to squeeze anyone in w e tiny space between e 2 car seats

Another locked out incident

The last locked in incident happened 2 yrs ago when Ian stayed over po2's old home n last nite, it happened at our pl. A usual nite when mama is settling mei2 to sleep n Ian was supposed to get ready for bed n heard e door slammed n there daddy chided Ian for locking e kids' room.

Aft a while, Ian came in to say e other room was locked n mama immediately thot of his Sch gym clothes r in there n he needs it for Sch tdy. He then started getting worried abt e locked out. Told him to sleep while daddy settles it. We found some keys but somehow it couldnt open e door knob. Couldn't find any other suitable keys at home n just can't think where else e possible keys were. So it must b e door knob is spoilt.

Sigh e next morning e boy got worried n dashed out to try but to no avail. He started asking not to go Sch. E mean mama wanted him to go Sch in uniform while e others r in gym clothes n he has to explain his own act to all. He started getting worried while daddy is still trying to open it. Mama rem when we did our Reno n daddy made a remark that e door could b opened w a card slide. See e door knob wasn't e usual kind which e key unlocks e door. E knob that locks e room just makes e handle unable to turn to open e door. Quite a different mechanism so we started acting like thief n slid all sorts of paper n cards thru e door. Took a while before we used a folder (which we collected quite a few fm NLB) n wala, soon e door flung open n elated Ian was saying 'MY daddy did it!!!' sigh was quite a while of trying b4 we got it open. Hope e boy does learn his lesson not to play w doors as its e 3nd time n we warned him he might get locked in alone as e door knob seems kindof spoilt. Hope he learns it!

Hit to e nature, the coast n e rich 'playground'

Today being hari raya PH, we had e whole day out. In e morning, Ian requested for cycling so decided to go Bt Chermin broadwalk. We hv been to Labrador park several times but din try e broadwalk so we parked outside n walked in while Ian cycled in.

Surprised by e mangrove swamps there coz being a geog student, nv knew there were such swamps in spore. Guess we used to see only in textbk pics. Anw went fm e nature n saw e coast which we passed e Labrador park n went on to e Keppel bay. Was a really nice view of e rich 'playground', it felt like we were at darling harbour or Monte Carlo where lots of yachts were parked there except for the WEATHER. There were blocks of condos w superb sea view. Well was suddenly awed by e view but well e link bridge to marina Keppel bay was magnificent. Hmm nv knew this part of spore. Glad we explored this pl n we shld b back soon but not at such sweltering hot weather. Ian saw e cable car n requested to take ot but well shall see

Picnic at gardens by e bay

Sometime ago, auntie YJ gathered us for a picnic on this Sunday over e long wkend. N we truly enjoyed this fun time yea ESP for e kids. They could run ard chasing each other, kick ball n play captain's ball. While e adults catch up with each other over food. Lots of food that we couldn't quite finish all. See e pic of us all busy eating n spoilt for choice.

Yeah we sat till e sky turned dark n till we can't see e food in front of us n we ended e fun. Ian was so reluctant to go home n told him to bug auntie YJ to organize more hee. So auntie YJ, be ready to be bugged n prepare more PIMMS ya. We shld do this more often!

STEPS- run for a cause

We signed up for this run organized by Methodist welfare services to raise funds for e needy. It was held at ECP this morning n was a Gd weather for e run as we love e sea breeze run. We are used to taking walks at park every sat (almost!) but tdy was supposed to run 5km.

Well decided that daddy goes w Joann on e pram while mama takes Ian. Hmm we hv been building up on walking but running takes a long while, we guess. The boy wanted to run at beginning but aft a while decided to brisk walk n later take a slow walk. He's nursing a cough so dont dare push too hard. Ya started asking for water but we left at e pram haha. Then complained too far coz can't quite see crowd already n he rem e car is behind ie we gotta walk back there. Asked to stop for a seat but pushed him on then thot we hv came so far so detour n glad we did that coz e run overshot ie e runners run over e distance needed to cover so when backtrack we saw e whole crowd going back n e boy was more motivated esp aft seeing familiar faces like auntie Yijie, auntie Lorraine n then daddy w mei2 in pram n he got his water! Started to relax n enjoy more of e walk coz can do it together w e crowd. Guess we shldn't be late for flag off ESP w young kids as e crowd means a whole lot n also to do more stamina building for such walks. Well but we had alot of fun there w food, games n fellowship. Just so glad e weather was Gd n we could run for a Gd cause. Hope we finish our 'race' well too in life so that our traces we left really can spur others on

Bye bye, scooter

Last sat, we brought Ian's scooter out for some scooter fun at ecp but barely half hr into it, he stopped n gave a look. His scooter wheel gave way, e whole plastic ream came off. He was so reluctant to part with it. Yes, recent wks he has been on it for some Gd time, he did scooter ard estate, to market n even to e plaza. It seems abit low for him, we did contemplate getting a new one n well now it's e time to really get him one. He din wanna abandon it at ecp but told him we could get it for his Christmas n he then seemed fine. Well it's a bday gift fm dayi when he turned 3yo. It's been w him for 2 yrs n lately made its way out of home. Well well a last parting shot w it n he kept e ribbons as momento n part of e cover went to joy's scooter. Well will e next scooter b a 2 wheel one? Hmm shall see

Ian is 5 yrs n 5 mths old

On this national day, our boy is another mth older. He's indeed getting more inquisitive abt things, definitely asking more but also needs to be taught more.

This mth, we started going outdoor more since mei2 can take nap on pram in noon but we met w our neighbor who is always playing on scooter on corridor while waiting for her mummy so Ian played w her on some occasions n his scooter went outdoor finally. We went their pl for some play. Life became a little busier at evening n Ian started asking daily to go their pl sigh tough to end his quests. Anw timely as po2 n ah gong were shifting down soon so we started going over their new pl in late noon. Quite a change in our usual routine as po2 would help look aft Joann while mama goes to pick Ian n settle his lunch n do stuff b4 going over to check out our gal. It's a Gd time mama is having w Ian as at least e attention is solely on him wo being busy w Joann n we could do more stuff together. Well there w still b times both w come together n hope Ian learns to embrace such moments w her little sibling.

Yes, e shifting down of grandparents n not taking Sch bus seem e highlight of this mth but we also see somewhat a growing up boy, in terms of his thinking n reasoning out. Just some wks back he was playing w dayi n when asked to keep a key properly as its precious, he retorted that Jesus is e precious one. Wow so religious thot hee. N yest he dropped a toy on a floor n an uncle picked up n asked him to say thanks as Ian scooted off wo saying it. It was a time to teach him such manners but he explained that he could pick it on his own n din need e uncle's help. Just a teachable moment.

He has been more chatty n able to hold a conversation more w anyone. Just a short stayover at po2's new ok n e folks find him so chatty n alot of observations n indeed this boy is growing up n it's a time to shepherd his heart n pray that he w go alongside God's instructions n this is a new goal mama hopes to do more with e 1to1 time we now have.

Danga bay, we love!

After e High moment in Sch, on our way home just thinking where to go n Ian requested holiday n msia! That was mummy's thots in e morning but not sure if there w b a jam. Anw daddy ditto to it n quickly check hotel rate at tune hotel, go home grab e stuff, print hotel conformation n get passports m soon we were on our way. Surprised how we could do such last min arrangement even w Joann.

Anw e boy was so happy on way there n dozed off to catch more fun at msia. N we went for our fav ah keong yong tau fu noodles b4 going tebrau for arcade fun n to grab breakfast stuff. N upon check in, asked if there is connecting rm n we booked 1 more room. Yes, e boys in 1 n girls in another coz Joann is older now n can roll. Everything was smooth n had some fun in room n went check our danga bay.

Daddy's fren recommended a new f dinner pl near danga bay n variety was so wide we were lost for choice. N they were preparing Ramadan buffet n they looked good! For a first time could introduce Malay fasting to Ian as they saw them sitting down in front of plates of food but can't eat. We had our share b4 e crowd came n off we went to e amusement park.

Ian chose to sit tea cup twice. He really loves speed sigh n sat once when we went there n another b4 we left n of course went for some games n had prizes again. Yeah it seems more like his bday then national day. He's fast asleep now n must b dreaming of what a happy day he had today!

National day celebration in Sch

Today was e celebration of national day in Sch n was Ian's 1st coz last yr it fell on a mon n we attended BSF instead n it has always been open to parents to join in.

It was a fun n joyous day, indeed feel 'high' w all e kids singing, don't rem our parents ever get to participate w us when we were kids. It meant alot to us n think it's e same for Ian. At least we know e songs they sing in Sch n today they had relay games n it felt so momentous as we watched each level played n how we saw our boy running in e relay n running just to capture that moment (yes, could up close to capture it. Will upload aft download fm DSLR) n how he relates to each friend n smiling whenever we went up to take pic of him. It would b Gd collection of such moments. So glad daddy took lve to b with us, at least to share this precious moment w Ian n also care for Joann. Just so glad we experienced this with our boy! He said it was his best day in Sch. N we saw how our boy became grown up over a yr, no longer shy n really singing his lungs out doing actions at all songs. Indeed reach out for e sky....

Walking walking...

Tdy, we started going Sch w daddy fetching n later mama walked back home w Joann in e pram. A different experience n saw Ian's teacher n had some chat w her.

Then came home to settle Joann for nap n sent her to po2's pl while mama picked Ian fm Sch. Weather looks cool so we walked home. Oh it was a yr ago, we were taking e same route n it's different as he's a yr older so he's walking faster n could chat more along e way abt happening in e Sch. But has perks like seaweed n soya bean complimentary of po2. He even commented its cooler to walk coz usually they need to wait for all e classes to dismiss to get on e Sch bus n it can b real hot as we do see him perspire when reached home. N tdy happened his class was dismiss 1st n e smile on his face to see mama reminded of his nursery days. Anw ended up we came back earlier than Sch bus hmm just wonder if scorching hot sun, will he complain. Anw Gd start to e walking
