2 birthday parties on a Saturday n e boy is ill

A supposedly chirpy Saturday was awoken by Ian who couldn't wake up to a day w 2 bday parties but when taking morning bath, he complained of chill but in a laughing mode so mama din think much of it till later realized he was running a fever. Went to see doc aft bf n e boy looked tired but still requested go Sophia's bday party so took med n had a short nap n he looked better n was up n abt at buddy hoagies cafe n was eating quite a fair bit of Hawaiian pizza.

We all had a Gd time catching up w e rest n Ian was playing w his cousins n all looked Gd till later he came by looking shivering n said he wanna go n we then went home n he took a nap again on e go but looked bad b4 we reached home n threw up his lunch. Yes, he was soiled all over n even asked why is there pizza smell. Went home clean up, took med n had a longer nap n when he woke up, he asked to go his classmate's bday party which was just at e pavilion down our blk n guess couldn't quite say no to him tho mama did go down to pass gift n said Ian is resting.

Well e sick boy was so sticky to mama n din want to go ard much tho there were lots of activities. E bday boy's mum is an American n it was v much American style, had t shirt painting, tattoo design on hand, pencil holder decor n a bouncy castle. E boy din wanna do much till mama nudged him do t shirt painting n friends came by to say hi to him. Well quite a big event as a family celebrating 3 kids bday which were v close by so e guests were quite a number. Well it was nice to attend a bday party just down our blk so we could walk up to our pl ESP on such a day when e boy is down. Just pray that he will b up n abt soon!

Our big home staycation

Ian has been most excited abt mei2's bday chalet as he was counting down to her bday. So on e Thursday he jumped up in his bed saying its mei2's bday chalet day! Haha wonder is he excited abt her bday or e chalet. Anw he was most happy when mama picked him up fm Sch. So he was so anticipating e pl that he ran up n down when we reached e bungalow n he was so hoping to stay there forever! Haha

The next day his 'guests' joined him in e big house n he had more fun! Yes, so much that we couldn't even see him coming aft us till bday cake. They were musing w e masks n party hats n balloons. All e kids din wanna go home n had to b called home as it was really late. Glad we were staying over n could sleep in next morning tho not so late too as e kids can't wait for more fun. Aft bf, we went pasir ris park for e kids to explore e playground then went back for sandart n making lanterns. Soon was popiah lunch n e cousins went back while we had sgm in e evening.

Ian was excited w e babies too as he was e big gor2 but there was uncle Kenneth to play hide n seek w him. We had 2nd bday cake for Joann n then e babies had fun together on e floor. Well it was a Gd time catching up n then when e guests left, we had sparklers fun in e garden outside.

Sunday morning, we visited shalom bp for service n then came back for lunch n pack up n e boy was kindof sad to leave e big home. Yes, he would definitely request to come back again n even a bday party for his bday hmm shall see!

Cloud forest n flower dome...

Since we last visited e gardens by e bay, we hv wanted to visit e domes n glad daddy's coy union had organized a trip there n really pleased he managed to ballot for e tics (yes, whenever we hear of ballot, seems real tough but we got it this round!)

We were supp to meet all e folks at 4pm to take pic together n collect tics n thereaft it's on your own. Really excited so we explored e cloud forest 1st n were happy to be welcomed with e waterfall. Yea man made but we were all excited ESP Ian n kept asking how to get to the top so we followed e trail n were soon up there. Alot flowers ard n beautiful n he took lots of pics w them. A pity mei2 couldn't take standing beside but she's super Gd in her pram as she was quietly checking out fm her view in e pram for a Gd Gd time!

Ian loved e forest n soon aft we explored the flower dome, he was commenting e forest was nicer. E flower dome w e name flower but dead lots of cactti n e boy couldn't appreciate it n e pl is quite big, not as structured as e forest n he din like as much.

Soon was dinner time n we hopped over to e MBS for dinner but was quite long walk but e boy was Gd spirited n had a Gd dinner there n then we went to catch a view of Merlion as daddy knew there was some Merlion show to celebrate its 40th bday n there was some low fireworks. Was a nice view there of e buildings lighting.

Made our way back to car park n Ian was hopeful to go back e cloud forest but we were alittle late so promised we would come back again. He just loved e cool garden. Yes, will b back more prepared, we suppose.

Ian is 5 n a half yrs old!

6 mths has passed n he's half yr older! So much changes took pl this mth. With po2 shifting down, there are changes to our lives. Ian started going Sch w daddy fetching n mama brings him home while having Joann at po2's pl, we could do some work together n then go over their pl to hv dinner. So there is quite little time back home except for e days we dont go over so Ian seizes those days to play with his toys.

He's definitely having to learn to share his toys w mei2 as she can't quite play w him yet so can share his frustration n yet gotta teach him patience. Well there are days he does things n force on mei2, like in e pic he made a paper crown for mei2 n Joann is not used to having things on her head so it's a rare chance she din rip it off like she usually does n ian tells ah gong 我是国王 haha ya just coz of his crown. Anw it's fun to see how e siblings play but Ian can b rough to his sis at times n yet at times v nice to her but e sister is quite persistent in wat she wants n can b quite strong headed too.

We see an active Ian growing up, lots of workouts needed n glad po2 brought him to playground at her pl n we try to bring him outdoors every sat to workout. Else he seems to b feeding too well these days hmm

This mth, mama went his Sch for teachers day celeb n seen e part of him putting up his hands to volunteer do stuff, guess that's e growing up of him coz nv imagine him being so daring. N for e song presentation in church he was persistent in wanting to get a letter card for presentation hmm so our boy does hv his own mind of thots. N definitely think he's getting more confident in himself as he did a show n tell of a project we did on rabbit. Forgot to capture a pic but shld hv it back. He was so eager to share w his classmates that he wanted to b e 1st to share n he did tho w a bit of sore throat.

His endless quests of amusement fun at danga bay might come to an end as we switch to legoland since we did e annual pass n shld go there more often n he might then think danga is not much fun since he's into fast speed rides these days aft e roller coaster rides at USS so we shall see. Yes, he's so looking fwd to going legoland aft been there n having e map of it! Next mth w b e highlight as we go visit it!

As usual our tradition of getting a cake for his half yr mark, this time it's w his little sister with him n she's sure curious abt e little cake w candle n she doesnt hv a share in it, well e next time when gor2 celebrates his 6th bday, we might give her some...anw happy 5.5 yrs old, our little man!

M-A-L-A-Y-S-I-A

Yes, that's Ian fav pl perhaps as he is often requesting to go there tho he is also keen to go alot of places. So this sep hols his daddy fulfilled his wish to stay 3D2N at jb since e last national day he requested an extra nite.

Day 1, we stayed at tebrau aft bf to get some stuff n his arcade fun. Decided to check in tune hotel n go danga bay to cycle. So glad we made this decision tho was cloudy coz fri it rained so was tough to go outdoors n Ian was so happy to sit beside mei2 on e family bike n then had his playground fun. Yes workout b4 dinner n his amusement fun

Day 2 we visited legoland coz we hv gotten e annual pass n wondering if we could do it b4 it's officially open. So glad we went tdy as it was e 1st day e office is open for pass making n yeah we redeemed our annual pass n were early there we even checked out e shops n had yogurt at Tutti Frutti n had some monkeying time there n kids were given balloons.

Thereaft headed to Bt indah shopping ctr to get our movie tics n watched 'diary of a whimpy kid', nv had a chance to watch e sequel n glad we did as this series was abt r'ship between son n dad, hope Ian n daddy got pointers abt wat to do to improve e r'ship

Tdy we stay a whole lot indoor as weather did look Gd n also we got lots to buy ie clothes for us n shoes for e kids n mooncakes. Seem we accomplished alot tdy which was unexpected.

Day 3- was rounding of more buys fm e mall as we hit back tebrau n went for more hunts before heading back home w packed dinner for ah gong, po2 m dayi as we discovered a pl which is a food galore as we bought Hakka food n local delights fm tea garden which is v near tebrau so we shld head back this area for more food in future. Yes, back home for sabbath n it's nv enough for Ian n he reluctantly say bye Malaysia n hello, Singapore as we crossed e custom! We shall b back soon!

1st hol stayover at ah gong po2 new pl

Ian has been asking to stayover po2 new pl for sometime coz he gets tempted aft every fri family dinner but told him only Sch hols as per previously n so he did for e last national day PH n this sep was his 1st ever Sch hols!

He was so excited abt it tho he wished joy jie2 could join him but he's just happy to return to his 'palace' except that mama is v near to it now n drops by really often. We dropped him there aft usual ah maa's pl dinner on sun n he was happy to hv dayi's company for e evening.

The next morning he went super market n playground fun w po2 but mama came by in noon w mei2. Ian actually went super market w po2 n requested to hv an orange jam, an usual jam ah gong takes for diabetic except that Ian only tried e strawberry n was gungho to ask for orange as he does prefer orange fruit. Anw he brought home v excited to try on tue but he took a mouthful n was like 'yewww' n took a long time to finish his 2 slices of bread which was so unlike him n then requested a spread of peanut butter over n it was better but e orange slice was bitter, he took real small bites n ended up finishing it in 2 hrs tho mama helped at e end w little bites of orange slice. He brought back e bottle of jam n told po2 it wasn't nice at all. Well a lesson learnt for this boy not to request for things anyhow else he has to b responsible. Mama could force him to finish e bottle but it would take ages for him to finish bf when term starts anw ah gong w b able to finish it faster.

N tue noon we went over their pl again as Ian was staying another nite there n he's happy to go for whatever reason but he creates e noise needed for e folks but ah gong loves e joy mei2 brings coz he says she hardly cries n not so naughty as Ian haha anw e girl loves e pl too n she's getting to recognize e folks too n says hi when she goes w her gesture.

N so wed we went over ard n this time Ian went mkt w po2 n po2 was buying chwee Kueh for ah gong n po2 asked if he wants n he gave a blank look n aft looking at e auntie doing it then he said yes. He actually loves it but he calls it e white Kueh n nv learnt e term n e auntie selling actually asked po2 if he came fm msia coz nv tasted chwee Kueh b4 haha issit coz of his Chinese ascent too. This is really hilarious m best joke ever. Yes, he loves his stayover n wished he could still stay if not for his short vacation coming up n he is so looking fwd to e long yr end hols!

His 1st medal n it's a GOLD!

Haha some time back e kids were so envious of e medals n trophies found at po2's old pl during e shift n told them to 'earn' their own. Aft watching Olympics they got to know gold is e best n so at e last church Sch games day they all wanted to win a gold medal.

As Ian had to leave for his music class so he din stay for e prize giving n b4 we left, his team was e last ie bronze medal but later got MSG that his team won a gold! Boy, he was elated ESP aft going ah maa's pl n his 2 cousins were showing their gold medal as they happened to b in e same team n he really wanted to get hold of his gold medal but ah Mu has it n he would only meet her on wed. This tested his patience n he was fine with it, quite surprising. Anw when he saw ah Mu n he asked her abt it n later we captured these shots of him with his gold medal haha he was so happy thru e nite. Guess this is coz it's his 1st relay games n he truly felt e excitement tho he wasn't really pushing to get gold n later din expect to move to e 1st coz they were last but with e combined scores they won eventually. Well a medal worth remembering

Church school day

Tdy being church school day, e kids did up a song presentation at e sanctuary on Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things thru Him who gives me strength. Each kid was wearing a letter card n the shot was taken during rehearsal n Ian was insistent to wear a card to sing as there were too many kids. Anw he did get to wear a card n video it down for momento!

Aft church it was games day at Gan Eng Seng indoor sports hall n it's do near our pl so sent Ian there instead take tpt fm church n he had a relay games. He was abit lost initially n aft e 1st waiter game (ie balance ping pong ball on plate) n wanted to go coz it was too tough. Later made him pair w his sun Sch mate isaac so it became better as they played holding a ball back to back, take out shoes n wear it back (see e pic Ian's Sunday Sch teacher, Soo Mei was in fact wearing it for him aiyo!) hula hoop roll n 3 legged race. It was classic games n e kids enjoyed it. Yes, Ian loved it till he din wanna go as we had to lve early for his music class. Well it was a tiring but fun church school day!

Start of sep hols

Somehow v glad sep hols r here. Maybe to break fm e normal routine. Tdy is e start of it n we had our usual sat nature fun. Aft 2 long rainy days, just glad to hit outdoor n went to e nearest park fm our pl, it's a pl Ian will request each time we pass by but will always not hv a chance to go or maybe choose not to go coz of e swing!

Yes, tdy we went there n he had a Gd time on e swing till it became too hot to b there n he most reluctantly went to explore e park n he went round e train playground which he hardly did b4 n he really enjoyed running ard n then went to do some sandart (yes, into some sandart craze) n while mei2 napped, we 3 had a fun time checking out this exercise corner haha see how Ian was monkeying ard w daddy. Yes, fun time!

Then we went for our fortnightly visit to e library n each visit we always go off with some goodie n tdy it happened to hv some trail in e lib n u could do a puzzle that requires to go diff corners of lib n get a clue that finishes e puzzle to open e mystery box n we did tho with much help fm other participants n ya e pic is Ian trying to open e box with our answers n we went home with a bag n a pencil case. Haha adds excitement to our visit to lib.

Aft lunch n nap, we headed to vivo as daddy read up its sentosa's 40th bday n there was some flea mkt at e boardwalk. Quite fun just to b entertained by booths n street entertainers n Ian was fascinated by e floating cake in e sky haha he was in fact asking us to run to it b4 it floats away hmm well see e tilted cake behind e pic we took. We took a Polaroid with it as they were raising funds for e needy. N we chanced on this magic show n Ian was so thrilled at how the magician made e balls go missing n he was asking to learn magic haha tough huh

Yeah great start to e wk break n he is so looking fwd to unknown fun ahead!
