Christmas pressies!

After 2 days out with Christmas festive mood, the kids got excited opening their presents n Ian was most excited as he ripped open the presents n got surprised with each blessing he received. Yes, he got such a big bag that we dunno how to keep them haha. Well as he grows older, he does appreciate each of such season whereby he is blessed by each gift. Hope it stays on. Tks for all ur gifts n thots for this boy!

Merry Christmas

The jolly season is here n did a collage of the kids in different places where they took pics of Christmas n it sure feels they have been to places. Hohoho merry Christmas!!!

Christmas party at home

This was the other event Ian was so looking fwd to this mth. He wrote down the date on his whiteboard n was asking each day as he did a countdown. Yes, alot of things to tidy up n to prepare for this party which he did request some yrs ago to hv a Christmas party at home. 

He was so excited as he kept asking when n who are coming at what time. He could hardly rest as we cleaned up the house, prep the food n getting the gifts n balloons ready. Haha when the pple came, he started to warm up with the kids there n was a little shy with the friends. He din take much food n din want to sit with the kids. Was better aft he sat at the adults table n warmed up aft some time. He was busy ard with the toys ard n did ask how to clear the mess. Haha guess we don't get so much mess daily so it's Gd for him to learn. He enjoyed the sharing of food w kids as he took out Kueh bahulu n cookies for kids to share. It was a Gd time to gather as we don't hv much chances these days with the small grp. Guess it was a Gd experience hosting as the kids gotta share their stuff n they were exhausted at the end of the party as it went past their usual bed time. An advanced merry Christmas to all!!

Ian is 6 yrs n 9 mths old

Another mth went past n this has been the longest mth coz we did quite abit of travelling to kl n down under n glad all were done aft his orientation n buying of Sch stuff. 

Uniform, books, bags, shoes n stuff r all bought n just ready to enjoy the last bit of hols. Yes, with his 'earnings' for the yr fm his spellings n 听写 which he never failed to get any wrong, he asked to get the colorful white board markers sigh what can we say. So he accomplished that at the kl trip. Then the aust trip he din ask buy anything but was treated to more magic pens by ah Mu. We were surprised how he has grown to b more daring to take roller coasters. That's trip he proved to be more gamed for sand tobaning which seemed tough but he tried. Even animal feeding he was more daring unlike when he went 2 yrs ago to Perth. Yes he was counting he went Perth when he was 2 yrs old then 4 yrs old n this 6 yrs old. Yes expecting to go when he's 8 n 10 yo. Guess need to manage his expectation huh. Surprised he went up to hold the crab. Wonder if he regretted but well he did take a nice pic tho worrying if crab will move n bite him! 

What a fun mth n next mth he would embark on p1 journey. Just enjoying last few wks of hols tho he's counting down to Christmas party at home! See how he draws his own calendar these days n did request to have 1 personal one next yr!

Sunshine Coast 5-8 dec

Our final stay was at trafalgar towers at Sunshine Coast n indeed we see alot of sun at this pl. cool breeze but more sunny days. We visited the Australian zoo by the late Steve Irwin. Somehow this pl seems cool as we don't see much Asians here. We enjoyed this zoo as the keepers handle animals w much care. We could see baby tigers roaming ard. Guess they r not so caged like our spore zoo. We could go upclose to kangaroos n even pat a koala. Nice pl to walk ard, maybe coz it's not so hot n humid like spore. There is this crocoseum just for the crocs n alligators. Much memory of the late Irwin as they show alot of him n his family pics ard. Guess we r glad we made it to his zoo!

Next day was to the ginger factory but prior that we read abt the big pineapple having a local mkt so we dropped by n were treated to alot of fruit tasting. Nice tasting n guess we bought alot fruit. Ginger factory was informative to know whar other by products of ginger. We were treated to a food tasting of various foods. The kids even had ginger ice cream treat. We chanced upon Santa Claus n took a family pic w him! Then we hopped across the street to nutworks n bought alot of nuts! We then went the wharf for some shopping n then Thai dinner!

The final day was spent at underwater world. Nothing v much like our sea aquarium but came upclose to seal n sting rays lots of sharks. Guess was nice just walking n walking ard b4 we went last min shopping n nap time b4 we head off to Brisbane for Chinese dinner before going back home. Well well time seems to fly so fast while we are at play. Kids most reluctant to come home but we brought back alot of memories of the fun n adventurous times we had!

Moreton island at tangalooma - 4 n 5 dec

Much hype abt this island stay coz it's ard 1.5hr ferry ride in n we hv heard nice reviews of the place. Well it's just a nite stay so gotta seize the time there.

By the time we got there was lunch time n soon was our 4WD sand dune n it was really fine sand area. Given some boards to ride on sand but its a steep slope to climb n glad Ian was keen to go w daddy coz mama has done it b4 n had to look aft Joann. The men n boys were tired out just climbing up n took some time to slide down. Well daddy din get to do it as not enough boards n Ian tried to slide down but got stuck in the middle, guess not meant for kids size but he was courageous enough n had a nice pic of pic doing it! Then was back to the beach where the kids had endless digging to do n plus the fun w sea water. Then went to swimming pool for more fun as we were waiting for feeding of wild dolphins at 7pm. It was an experience we came for as the dolphins came really close n was nice to see them upclose! Then was dinner time n then was late bed time.

Next morning we were awoken by the bright sunlight n soon was early bf then time to catch our ferry back. The driver met us there n brought us ard Brisbane city as we had much time b4 we could check into our Sunshine Coast apt. Just leister walk ard n our Chinese food at the Chinatown for the folks! We had 3 barrels of rice, guess how much we miss rice haha

Trip to Gold Coast 29 nov - 3 dec

The day finally came for us to go for our down under trip, yes w much plans w chan bros, we did a private tours just w our folks. The kids have been so looking fwd n hv been keeping in Gd health for this day. It's been 2 yrs we haven't taken a flight n Ian was so excited! He couldn't keep his excitement n made sure he woke up for the flight. Well well w much food n movies, the 7hrs + finally passed n coz Queensland is 2 hrs ahead, we reached grand chancellor, surfers paradise at 9pm n missed our dinner. Daddy went out to get pizza n the kids then finally dozed off but the sun came out real early!

We then explored Gold Coast but it was a gloomy day. We missed the Carrara mkt n went to pacific fair mall for some Gd shopping! Thereaft weather became better n we then hit to the beach but was cold still. Din expect this cool weather but so glad next few days would b Gd! 

The next day we went to catch a crab cruise. We started w feeding the pelicans w fish. It was quite fun coz nv quite tried catching baby prawns w pump but only daddy went down w biao jiu n Seth as we all din want to get wet in mud. Then was holding huge crabs for photo shot n Ian was gamed to hold one hee but look at his smile haha. Then it was taking the prawns as bait to catch fish but din get any. Then it was oyster farm visit n off to our seafood lunch! Was kindof nice experience. Then it was visit to super bee n abalone world. We found out more info on these foods n had Gd food tasting too hee. We then went to visit a playground for the kids to bounce since we ended early for the day 

Then the next day was visit to tropical fruit world where we were treated to whole tray of fruit, a tractor ride to bring us ard the various farms, we had banana fm trees n even cracked macadamia nuts. Was kindof fun even take a boat ride to feed ducks n fishes, there was an animal feeding area n even took a miniature train ride. It was more than a fruit farm. Guess we spent quite a long time there n then headed to harbourtown for lunch n shopping!

Next day was the movie world, we were excited abt the rides n shows so headed to stunt driver 1st to catch the movie thrills n then ice age 4D. Then was the ride time n w photo shoot w the characters! We had a quick lunch n brought the boys for bumper car rides n league of justice where we shoot star fish in 3D form. Was kindof fun then was the stars parade. We ended the nite w celebrating ah mu's bday in advance in the hotel room. It's the mid of our trip already!

Our 1st beach wedding

23 nov is a much anticipated date for Ian as we then told him we would b travelling to kl for a wedding of daddy's cousin n for some 'errands' the boy was looking fwd so he has started counting down more than a mth ago.

Nv did we expect a beach wedding n Ian was exclaiming aft the wedding that its our 1st beach wedding. Hmm something out of the norm as we expected ballroom aft solemnisation by the beach. Well it was not, it was buffet dinner by the beach n sth v new to our kids haha coz we see this in movies but hardly in real life as weather is so uncertain n pple are so demanding haha but the couple had faith, it turned out Gd weather but had pple complaining abt the hot weather n sun in shoes haha. 

Anw it was Gd experience n guess was a Gd time to catch up w relatives we don't meet v often who r staying in msia. Well well was a nice but busy wkend just driving up n down n across the highway. Guess we don't hv many chances but this yr we had 2 of these experiences n it's fun for the kids!

Hello, zhangde pri Sch

Yes, aft a farewell, it's time to say hello to Ian's much awaited new Sch. Well abit of nervousness as we walked into the Sch. All so familiar but yet unfamiliar coz we did go walk in a few times but still unfamiliar to whereabouts. We went to his class booth stand n given info pack n his name tag. Walked up to the hall n he was ushered to go sit in front according to class. Could tell he was nervous but yet keen to check out new friends. 

Parents were given a talk in hall while kids went into class for some 'test'. Well coincidentally he had the same teacher as his cousin Seth n the boy did self intro n according to him, alot of classmates had older sibling in Sch so he also mentioned abt his cousins hmm guess start of peer pressure. It was a Gd time knowing friends I guess as he counted 12 girls n total 27 kids tho supp to b 29, shall see. N he happened to be same class as a Sch mate from Chinese kindly. Well well shall see how the real orientation goes for 1st 3 days of Sch, till then it's HOLIDAY time!!!!

Goodbye Chinese kindergarten

Today marks the end of Ian's Kindy days n lots of emotions as he attended the party. Even in bed, he kept saying he misses his friends n asked if he would not see all of them again. Even attending the event w him, felt the same emo as him coz afterall he has been there for 3 yrs n made some Gd friends. It started w him getting to know them, acquainted w them n then became Gd friends n time to bid farewell. Certainly thank God for seeing the boy thru this phase of his life which made some foundation to his schooling days.

They presented a speech n drama of 'Goldilocks n the 3 bears' n then they had this wheel barrow game which he paired w his buddy Eden. Sang a few of their songs, took class pic for the last time n was party time. Ended w some friends giving them gifts. Guess emotional as he came home reading some notes saying 'I will miss u' n thanks for being a friend. Guess he will truly treasure these little gifts as he embarks on his next phase of schooling. 

Ian is 6 yrs n 8 mths old

Well the grad concert was the highlight of this mth for him. Yes, 3 yrs in his Kindy just went past so fast n he has grown to b a more confident boy. Truly thank God to see him thru this phase when he 1st started kindy, we weren't sure if we would b the kind of parents having to drag him to Sch but on the contrary he loves his Sch, friends n teachers so the 3 yrs have been such fun time in his life n he sure learnt alot more abt God thru his daily assembly n Friday chapel. Guess this is the most he n us will miss when he goes pri Sch. He has become so confident in himself when we see him giving intro to his class performance. Well we trust God will see him thru this new phase. 

Well to celeb his grad we went legoland for a final time n din know our boy is a daredevil in taking roller coaster. We took the extreme roller coaster n he keeps wanting to go again but our adults hearts need to rest haha. 

Yes, he's picking up confidence in water as well. Now his head can go in n swim wo a board. Hope soon we could b swimming laps together. 

N he got his new piano well just hope he will b more conscientious in practicing his music pieces. 

Well 1 more wk of Sch n he shld b going for last few wks of break b4 entering the real education system. His orientation in the new Sch beckons....

Bye bye to old piano n welcome new piano

Well well we got a hand down piano 2 yrs ago n then got Ian started on Yamaha junior music course. Then decided to switch him to piano some 4 mths ago n teacher did say the old piano is v worn out so music might not b as what it ought to be. Just thot we might make do w it till Ian shows much more enthusiasm but tdy we thot we would just scout ard n from a friends's recommendation we came to this piano shop n made a heavy investment on this Yamaha piano. Wonder if it will reap its returns but certainly hope to hear more melodious music aft this purchase. Well the boy is certainly excited abt playing again, like he did 2 yrs ago but hope it lasts for a lifetime

Last visit to legoland

A year, it's been a yr we have the legoland annual pass n it's ending soon so tdy we made a final trip, a real closure for the kids as a lot of memories of this park as this is our 10th visit! Well a dark gloomy weather starts our trip there tdy, could see the contrast of pics we took when we arrived there n when we left. Well just glad we made it for all the rides the kids wanted to take for the final final time. 

Well tdy Ian tried for the 1st time the driving Sch which a yr ago, he was still below 6yo so he went for the junior one n tdy he went for the one that gives a 'license'. Big deal huh but he really treasures the 'license'. And his fav ride is x-treme. It's a really scary ride as it plunges down real fast at a point but the boys loved it! Glad it's the final one else we gotta keep going there for every visit. 

Well well this is the place that the kids really show us how daring rides they can take n how insistent they will request to keep taking the rides. The annual pass serves us really well n guess we know all the rides really well. It seems so fast that the yr has just went past n guess its time to explore other stuff n wonder when we will b back again 

Today is Ian's graduation day!

It has been a highly anticipated day for Ian. He had hoped this day would come soon. Yest he had full dress rehearsal n mama tagged along as PV n was a Gd chance to capture the shots of Ian in the graduation gown with his friends too. What a pride to see the boy in the gown, the boy has grown up so fast!

We have always enjoyed going for the Sch concert for the past 2 yrs as its always a display of various classes performances. This yr was a little different coz just couple of wks back, daddy agreed to give the parents speech n just last wk Ian was asked to give intro to his class item. What an experience having to do up the script for the speech for daddy n to practice the intro with Ian. It's kindof 'stressful' haha but in return we got VIP seats for the concert. Yes, just beside the chairman, principal n the board of mgmt. hmm another stress came as not sure if Joann would b Gd w such front seats. Good viewing but yet a lot of space for her to move.

Just glad it went on v well as both the speeches were ok n Joann din 'roam' as much n din make as much noise as feared. It was Gd time celebrating the boy's graduation n guess we will miss it for a yr b4 the girl starts Kindy life! Also wanna thank dayi for agreeing to come w us n indeed it was a boost for the boy as he could spot us on stage n was waving to us at various pts of performances coz this was the only yr we knew exactly where we would b sitting n so we told him. N yes, he's most glad to receive the graduation forever friends bear fm dayi! Entering another phase of life soon....

Ian is 6 yrs n 7 mths old

Another mth has passed n the past mth was filled mostly w mei2's bday celeb stuff as the boy looked fwd to the party at the chalet. We did go JB prior to the chalet to get some party stuff.

Yes, lanterns for the lantern fest to start off the chalet as both carried ard lantern in the mood for mid autumn. Then was the bday celeb when the brother followed wherever the sister took pic. Well lots of pics w them together. Kindof 'protective' brother but glad both have the fun n respect for each other. 

Then was the children's day which Ian has so looked fwd too. Yes, he knows on this day he can get a lot of gifts n he did get a lot of stationery fm his Sch n teachers. His fav is this pair of boy n girl sharpeners which he brings ard w him. Sigh just glad children's day is once a yr only. 

This coming mth would hv his graduation concert which he is so excited about n yes, he would b graduating fm the Sch soon. A lot of apprehension abt this next phase which is coming up hmmm

Our 2nd concert by the park

The 1st concert we watched at botanical gardens was some 2 yrs back at the okto a minute of fame n could still rem quite clearly as mama was v preggy n Ian was v tempted by pple's food ard us.

Tdy, we attended the opening ceremony of the international acapella festival n this is the 1st ever w Joann! Yes, we packed enough food n drink this time round n were glad we reached early as we got the last car park lot nearest to the shaw amphitheater. We found a Gd spot n started our subway sandwich dinner w chicken pie fm polar. A Gd experience of various acapella grp n we even saw a grp of kids grp. Well nice way to hv dinner too tho we were surrounded by folks who brought wine to accompany the music. 

Staying over together!

Ian has started staying at po2's pl since he was 14 mths old but Joann haven't got this chance. Just some wks back, she did stay alone coz we din want her to catch the virus Ian was having back at home.

Yesterday, Ian was asking Joann to stay over as he was staying since tdy there is no Sch coz of children's day. His tactic was to ask Joann to choose yakult (ie stay over at po2's pl) or go home (ie no yakult). The girl was alittle confused as evening time was always going home time n there were several times we went home wo Ian. N she has often been going home w yakult in hand. So she din understand why yakult n can't go home. When asked to stay, she kept saying no but yet she reached for the yakult. N she was so afraid mummy would go home wo her, she quickly put on her shoes. Even resisted when asked by her bro to stay. It looked like she was going home w mummy. But when out at the gate, she turned back to her bro to wave final goodbye, she suddenly turned back in n went in waving bye to mummy who was out at the gate. It was just the split second she changed her mind, it's just so sudden n really wonder what made her decide to stay on.

Well she did stay for a party time! Sigh she only slept at 11pm, playing w all sorts of stuff in room while po2 n Ian were sleeping away. She woke up in middle of nite crying but soon appeased by po2's voice n woke up at 7am. So insufficient of rest. Sigh guess its the staying over syndrome huh. Wonder how many more such stayovers n insufficient sleep!

My mei2 is 2 yrs old tdy

We had bday celeb at bintan chalet earlier this yr for Ian n glad we did get a chalet stay for Joann too. Maybe the final yr to do such stay as Ian is going p1 next yr?

NSRCC is a pl we last came when Ian was abt Joann's age so it's interesting to come back aft some yrs n seeing how our kids have grown! Ian has been most excited abt this bday celeb as we prep bday invites last mth. Yes, it's as if its his other bday of the yr. he chose the stuff to buy like the bday accessories of eye masks, balloons n even design of cake. Ya like a BIG brother! 

Well must say both have grown to love each other as sibling as they find company to play daily tho Joann can't keep up with gor2 but she tries to follow along even doing song n dance haha. The bro does hv some authority over the little sister as she respects him except those NO-NO times. Just hope both can grow to love each other more n to enjoy this gift of sibling hood as we always rem that they will spend more time as sibling on earth than us as parents to them. We thank God for making them siblings!

Our 9th visit to legoland

Yes, 9th n still counting. Can believe we hv been there so many times n Ian is still as ever bugging us to go there. He knows somehow his daddy would bring us to msia during sep hols n made sure he doesn't stayover at po2's pl. he had 3 nites stayover n yest came back with ulcers n tdy was badly swollen so the pics could not see his usual wide smiles hmm looks bad n he tried to keep his spirits up.

Went for the usuals...train ride, roller coaster, the lost kingdom, aero plane, 4D show n guess we know what to do next n when to go when we hv finished what the kids like. Our annual pass is ending n doesn't look attractive enough to renew it n somehow the pl isn't as crowded as it used to b. well will we b back soon b4 our membership ends hmm

Ian is 6 n 1/2 yrs old

Yes, a few days late in posting this blog coz Ian has been staying over po2's pl so forgot abt his 1/2 bday n din celeb this yr. well it has been a busy mth with all the full wks of Sch n classes n with him falling ill the last wk.

Well he's a rainbow lover so chose wording in rainbow. His love is quite colorful too hee yes all sorts of character at diff places. See the few funny outfits he had in the collage. He had a dress up fun a day n we dare him to parade along our corridor haha of coz he din! Last sat, we were having some fun at po2's pl with the mooncake stuff w dayi n he took this pic with piglet hanging on his ears haha ok he just asked mama dont send to anyone but he din say dont blog rite hee. 

Yes, but back at home he can be busy n noisy which pple rarely see even music teacher thinks he's quiet n shy haha. Guess pple will b shocked to see his other side. Well he loves fun n guess at Sch he does enjoy the 'fun' of learning n yes another few mths into his next chapter of life. A lot of anticipation aft hearing fm his cousins but sure a lot excitement too to be in same Sch as them for the 1st time!

This mth we did volunteer work with Sch n with church n hope this gives a heart of compassion for the poor tho we also did the Christmas shoebox for those in Thai Burma borders but this boy is still v 'stingy' in giving up his best things at home. Time to do missions huh 

Ok another busy mth ahead w his sis bday n some practices for his yr end concert coming up!

Teachers day

Ian celebrated his last teachers day at his Kindy n was nice that parents could attend it to see the various presentation each class has prepared to show appreciation to the teachers. 

Ian's grp drew a house for the teachers to stay in n the whole k2 presented a song 'Thank you, Lord for the teachers'. It was nice to see all gathered again n guess the last few times to b there together w Ian at school. That's the 王老师who has seen Ian thru his 3 yrs at the Kindy n yea the one who truly impacted his life in Kindy!

Volunteer work with Sch

We hv started joining our church in giving out bread to folks at telok blangah so Ian knows what is volunteer work about n tdy for the 1st time we were going with Ian's Kindy on this 'manna project' together w jubilee church pple. Must say its quite organized. They splited the k2s with their parents among 2 blocks of flats n all handed w noodles (even beef noodles but not to b given to Hindus) n lollies for the younger kids in the home.

We were given layout of the flats. Mostly r rental flats n instructed to give 1 n 2 room flats only. We were required to ask any kids in the household within Kindy age or Sch age as the church is embarking on reading prog for those going to Sch soon n yr end they are giving out 'back to Sch' vouchers for these families to buy shoes n stuff. Yes, some into to get n diff fm our church distribution. We were asked to hv the kids introducing themselves fm Chinese kindergarten n blessing them with a pack of noodles. Well the kids were nervous at 1st but soon got used to knocking the door n giving out the bags of noodles. Tho it was just 2 floors each grp had to cover, we took a Gd hr or so coz there are some conversations striked n it was a Gd experience for the kids n us too! 

Gardening is fun!

The 3rd term is Ian's Kindy embarked on gardening for the kids. So far, we do get to see his log book to see the growth of his bo-cai (spinach) coz he draws the plant to see the process of growing it. It's interesting as they even log when they water the plant whether the day is sunny or rainy. Ya coz the plants r at the outdoors so we (parents) don't quite get to that area unless u make an extra effort to go n see the gardening area. Ian did tell us the younger classes grow lady fingers. How fun to eat the plant u grow! Well some wks back Ian's classmate mum went to take pic of the plant n sent mama the pic of Ian's plant n it was still quite short but today, Ian brought back his plant n looks tall! Hee coz we don't hv a pot so passed the plant to po2 who loves growing plants n hope it's in better hands than ours! Interesting how the Sch makes the daily living part of the school activities!

Ian is 6 yrs n 5 mths old

What a month! Yes stuff a long mth till forgot to post it! Well this mth a lot of up n down abt the p1 reg but a mth of prayer too coz the boy is so insistent on his choice of Sch n he was often reminded that he can't do much except to pray. Well nv knew he could b so insistent on his choice. We did prep him abt Fairfield, ACS, RV n ZD n it was so obvious this boy is such a pple person. He wanted to make sure there is someone he could b familiar with b4 saying yes to the Sch n well that explains why he said NO to RV n a lot pple were commenting why give him the choice but he knows the consequence if he doesn't get into ZD. Well guess he's grown up enough to make his choice but its heart thumping for us coz we r likely to face the consequences more for the inconvenience if he doesn't get into ZD. Anyway so relieved n guess the boy does hv a lot of faith coz he seems so calm abt it sigh our heart can't take too much of this!

The long wkend was a Gd time to rest n truly enjoy it since the 'ordeal' is over. It has been a mth of 'fun' beside the couple of weeks of registration n balloting. We just thank God for seeing us thru n truly we know our lives r in His hands n we just need to trust in Him. 

Just so glimpse of fun time we had for movies, science ctr, marina barrage flying of kites n even collecting glasses w dayi!

Smurf 2

This is a much anticipated show for Ian coz some mths back when we were watching other movies we saw this trailer n yes, smurfs is Ian's fav. We hv taken much pics of our 2 kids w the movie posters several times b4 tdy n we finally watched it tdy in Singapore, GV grand. We hv been catching too many movies at discovery ctr n msia till we din know it would b so cold haha the kids were well geared but not us adults!

Tdy we watched the movie w ah Mu n family n Ian just sat between Seth n joy n not with us, well he is the seasoned movie goer n doesn't need parental guidance haha. Guess he enjoyed the movie now with another girl beside smurfette n certainly bring tears to the famil ties we see in the show n the smurf song just make us happy la la la la la sing a happy song....

National day 2013

This yr was somewhat diff coz of Ian's Sch of hfmd precaution taken so no national day celeb was done at Sch level, only did at class n so we couldn't go to participate this yr.

So tdy we had a Gd family day out with botanical garden walk n feeding the fish aft bf n then to our fav ikea for shopping n lunch. The kids were in Gd spirit for the public holiday! 

It was a rare chance daddy's colleague called yest to ask if we want the tics to Ntuc screening of ndp parade at the marina promenade. Earlier daddy did try to ballot for 4 tics but couldn't get so this was almost a wish came thru except that we hv dinner w Chng clan so tossing which to go. Ended up decided we will go till the dinner appt n lve so we reached the place abt 4pm, got a lot of goodie bags n got a Gd space with mat on the grass. Nice weather n sheltered it felt Gd to b with fellow Singaporeans in red celebrating the day. Atmosphere was Gd, wish we could stay but well guess with the kids hard to keep them thru the whole parade so we left for dinner n was a Gd experience of it at the promenade n did do some cheering n clapping. Was a nice way to immerse ourselves for the day! Happy 48th birthday, Singapore 

HE IS IN.....

Yes, tdy is the day for Ian's balloting for p1 reg into zhangde. It feels as tho we were all getting into the Sch coz nv felt this stressful even when we were even enrolling into uni! Sigh wonder what is the world becoming but just glad the ordeal is over.

Yes, aft submitting the forms last wk we knew what we were getting into but the stress just intensifies as each day draws nearer n with the msg coming in asking abt it. Mama with a weak heart haha won't dare to b present at the balloting exercise. Sth she would nv want to go thru n yet we had to go thru. Anw ah Mu said she could go n last min daddy took time off to witness the event. Yes with life telecast to mama via whatsapp n each min passed by our hearts just thumped harder, Ian with the number 90 wasn't called till daddy told mama only 30 seats left n yea he was the last 20+ called we guess. Thanks for all ur prayers n concern. Onward we go toward zhangde for the next phase of Ian's life to b a 'zhangde-ren'. The boy is happy but for a short while sigh guess he will nv hv his heart thump like ours till he goes thru it as a parent! What an experience but truly thank God for seeing us thru. Somehow this waiting experience abit like waiting for Joann to b born. Yes, somehow knew he would get in (yes appeared in our dreams somehow) but just wonder when. Just glad the dream came thru n it's really how we guide the boy thru the pri Sch life that really matters! Just so thankful we won't need to go thru the ordeal again at least for the time being!

Here is the start of our islander roaming...

We got our complimentary islander pass some wks back so since the weather is Gd, we seized the morning to go in sentosa for bf n walkabout. Yeah we did all the touristy stuff n took e pics. The kids were game to pose all the shots n Joann was real Gd to walk till the last part at rws with all the crowd. We checked out the adventure cove, got the map n all the height restrictions n see if we could come back another day. Well Joann kept pointing to go in but we din come prepared n the crowd was just coming in so fast. 

Even the sentosa train in and out of island was packed n we managed to go for a short walk at vivo. Guess we shld b coming back sentosa more often n more prepared w all their beach n swimwear!

The time has come....

Yes, the p1 reg that has been most nerve wrecking....we finally decided on registering at zhangde. Just wanna record this moment down as its really a time to trust God. We have 3 schs within 1km from our pl n well ZD is the closest to us n maybe coz Ian feels most for the Sch coz of his cousins n often passing it so he was really certain abt it. He even told po2 past mths to keep his choice Sch in prayer. Do hear him murmuring at bedtime n he told us he's been praying for it to happen 

After wks of 'monitoring' n even the privilege to try for 2B, we r left with phase 2C. Tough choice ESP the numbers make our hearts thump! N tdy we made the choice n with much risk as there are abt 116 applicants for 92 vacancies. Told Ian the odds n even possibility of going a Sch that is much further. Wonder if it A&E sense to him but he wants to trust n put the application for ZD. Yes, balloting for us on next tue. Pls pray for God's will to prevail!

Visit to the science ctr

Aft seeing on tv that there is a science fest for kids so told daddy to get science ctr pass n we went yest. Well some activities for kids to find out more abt DNA, vaccines n genes. It was Gd time for us adults to learn even. Ian put on this headgear as mosquito n tried to throw ball to pass germs infecting pple. Quite funny but Gd way to show kids how mosquitoes can spread germ to them.

Did a earthquake search activity to learn abt DNA n we ended the tour w a cotton candy floss at the end but Ian just din know what was it n din like it.

We then proceeded to the usual exhibits area n Ian is certainly curious abt everything as he roamed ard on his own, yes usually he will make sure we r ard but this time he really curious to find out abt stuff n will b stuck at some stations for a Gd time like this science ctr staff which I guess has this love to teach science as he brought props to show electricity so some kids were invited to try n Ian saw this girl with some electricity passing thru her as her hair stood alittle n Ian was abit apprehensive although e guy thot him how to 'unearth' himself (coz he was wearing rubber shoes ie crocs) n finally tried sth he felt 'safe' but later got electricity shock as daddy touched him so it was science in real life.

Think we hv been here at least 3 times (with Ian's Sch outing last yr too) but could really see Ian's interest this round in science. Guess it's e growing up or he's abit like his daddy v interested in science. It would b fun when later in pri Sch as he will learn better coz we did some 'video-recording' in a studio like place of sound effects for tv show n Ian loved it haha. We had some Gd fun inside w Joann as well. Will b back again sometime later, maybe when they hv kids stuff again

A rare Thursday treat

We got notified by Sch last wk that tdy Ian's class would b having speech n drama performance but po2's not free to look aft Joann as such we will bring her along like last yr. contemplated whether to go but again glad we made it coz Ian was 1 of the few to have special lines to say. Just amazes us how the kids could express themselves so well vocally at such young age n glad the sch has this special module coz we would not have exposed Ian to such drama course. Yes, daddy took pm lve to watch his performance n it's such a rare chance n it coincided w Ian's sleeping thru on his own bed the night before so it was a little treat for him to go for a show aft his school which he has been bugging us to go for 'despicable me 2' movie n so we seized e chance to go JB for the show!

Yes, a rare treat for thurs n Ian loved e minion as he took pic w them. Guess he's really tired by the time he reached bed but he's real happy to go for movie n whatmore at JB. This is a real treat fm daddy to make such a normal Thursday so so eventful!

Ian is 6 yrs n 4 mths old

This jun mth has been such a fun mth for Ian. We were at legoland several times, had staycation at JB n many stayover at po2's pl n with the church camp at Melaka. Just glad we had an escape fm haze days as we were away at Melaka so well Ian did wear mask for some days while in Melaka so we had 'experience' of having mask.

With the many trips to legoland, Ian is still asking to go more coz he enjoys every roller coaster ride n wonder if we would renew e annual pass but a lot of fond memories we had there. 

N he did hv fun at sentosa going to the SEA aquarium w his cousins n the playmobil fun! Guess the baking of pizza came easy aft his Sch outing at pasta mania. 

Did hv some days out with him while Joann naps at po2's pl n it's nice to hv 1 to 1 time (tho we hv weekly but usually it surrounds doing work) n nice to go swensens eating his fav n really shopping ard alone w him n looking for his fav smurf but this boy has grown as in knowing things n checking things out n walking long distances to go central lib, museum, bugis n to raffles city for Lego fun. It's like back to single kid days n more fun now that he's older. We shld do this every hol! Otherwise it's a lot of monkeying ard w Joann at po2's pl n his sister does enjoy his company!

Well this mth he had some changes to his schedule. Instead of usual tue class at berries, we swopped to Sunday n his usual Sunday Yamaha has ceased n will b having wed piano class at home. Glad he enjoyed his 1st Sunday berries class last sun as the class had more girls n shld b a lot more calmer but well hope he continue to enjoy his class tho wonder how long he ought to go on as we only intended for him to pick up hanyu pinyin. 

Yes, final semester of k2 n he took his grad pic last wk, so early yes n he's excited abt wearing e gown n carrying e scroll but we would only get e pics some mths later n glad he's enjoying back at Sch n we would b enrolling him for p1 soon n trust God will lead him to a Sch which he would grow best in.
