New challenges...

Yes e term started w spelling n 听写 for e boy n he was so 'excited' abt it n just had to make sure he gets e rules right ie no copying n writing it clearly. Well he's got it all right for the 1st wk's spelling which is relatively easy but it's a Gd start for e boy n tdy he got his 1st journal writing homework n was thinking hard what to write hee n ended up drawing a pic of him teaching his dear sister some Chinese words on whiteboard. Think this is latest fav pastime to act as teacher (a dream fulfilled that e sister would learn fm him 1 day hee)

This wk we were reading bks fm lib n the boy impressed mama with his leap in his capability to read wo much help. Well was abit worried if need to send to classes but he seems to b picking up fine n his Chinese reading has improved a whole lot aft going berries so it's Gd to see how e boy is progressing n getting prepared beyond preschool

March hols is ending

It has been a Gd wk of break for e boy as he had stayovers n fun at home n out of home. Tdy we had a rare breakfast out at macs (rare coz we hardly go macs bf coz we loved e hawker bf) but since we were going west coast park so macs is convenient n see how happy e kids r sharing happy meal but Ian ate a lot prior that, he shared sausage mcmuffin n filet burger w mummy. See how much e boy can eat for fast food!

Then we explored e place w playground fun for e kids n Ian was on his scooter. That noon we went shopping n lunch n then came back for Joann's siesta b4 going church for small grp 'cookout' session when we did Siew Mai n see how e kids r being involved. The kids had lots of fun n we had lots of fellowship. Guess it was a nice way to end e day early n yes, a day more to Sch starts n yes, new challenges ahead!

Visit to legoland

It's mar hols n Ian had a few stayover at po2's pl but he knows daddy w bring us out a day n he doubly made sure he wasn't gonna miss e day out so din want stay over on wed nite coz thur we are going out n he has specially requested to go legoland n daddy din promise him anything just said it depends on weather n so this boy asked mummy to pray for sun for thur n added that he would b praying too. It was nice hearing him praying real long on bed tho he woke up to a cloudy morning n was worried e sun won't b out. Haha this is how much our boy looks fwd to going legoland.

Well he was really excited thru e whole journey n was happier to learn that Seth n joy would b joining us there. We had our usual dim sum n set off to legoland n this boy just loves e roller coaster ride so we zoomed off there 1st b4 e crowd comes n he did take e usual fav rides n we had our shooting game w Joann this time. Guess they r familiar w e place so we went for e usual stuff n then left for lunch n shopping. It seems our usual routine stuff n wonder how many more times w they b bored w this usual hee. Will b back next hols I guess

Our boy turns 6!!!

Oh our boy is 6yo, e last yr b4 e pri Sch mood sets in n he's happy to b 6. Guess he has grown a little more independent, he initiated to bring his stuff for e bday trip. Yes, besides clothes brought by mama, he packed his writing stuff n anything he needed plus mei2's toys into his haversack n thru e trip, mama was awed at how many things he packed n were useful hmm guess it's a sign that our boy is preparing himself to go p1.

This mth, we see him reading more n tho he's still reading n skipping some but he can decipher some stuff which we come along together when out. It's amazing how he's picking up reading for Chinese. Just suddenly feel that our boy has taken a leap n guess he's excited w this journey too. He's v much into drawing too as he brought back his drawings in art class tdy n told us stories abt it. N he's also 'composing' his own songs when alone in room or singing while doing work. It's nice to hear him sing hymns like 'trust n obey' while doing his drawing. It's nice to see how he's excited abt his hip hop dance n gym in Sch n the many stuff he brought back every wk.

He had a few bday celebrations the 1st w Chng clan as we will b away on his bday wkend then was his bday trip n then at iong's family dinner n we even got Kueh lapis for him to share w his friends. He did ask why so many cakes. Haha enjoy while u can n stay happy, our 6yo boy!

Birthday bash at bintan lagoon resort

Well since Joann had her bday chalet, Ian has been requesting for a chalet too n daddy tried to get e bintan's resort which we did get 2 yrs ago but had to forego coz of cousin's wedding n this time, e boy turning 6 was totally excited. He was counting down everyday n that thur morning, he woke up beaming coz he knows e trip is almost here. Yes, almost coz we will set off aft his Sch n we r meeting at ferry terminal coz he w come w daddy later so he was still anxious on ferry n managed to nap. N he finally brightened up upon reaching e resort. The much awaited bday hols is here!

Both of them loved e stairs so see e happy look they both are in e pic n yes, there were 5 rooms n not a nite did Ian sleep w us. He bunked w po2 on 1st 2 nites n final nite w dayi. He loved e poolsss the resort has coz besides e private pool we had, there were another 2 pools at the resort so he was totally burnt when he went swimming w daddy when Joann napped. The beach was soft sand so e 2 kids had so much fun just w e sand n was nice just hearing e sea waves. Guess we brought our private chef as po2 whipped Ian's fav food thru e trip. Soft boil eggs n cereals for bf, Fried noodles n chicken wings for lunch, fish ball soup, chic rice for dinner. What more could he ask n then dayi came on his bday. Boy, he was elated just waiting for dayi at lobby (yes, feeding fish while waiting) n dayi came w prata for bf and then his bday dinner was a FEAST! He had his fav cha soba, sushi, French fries n chicken wings. See e glow on his face! N imported choc cake fm spore hee. All thanks to dayi as he was disappointed when we told him tough to bring a cake there. Guess he really enjoyed dayi's coy w his endless quests to swim hee n yes w a present too! He was most reluctant to go back but he's happy how memorable his 6th bday had been spent! Thanks folks for making him so happy on this special day
