Happy 43rd birthday to queenstown's library

We visit the library fortnightly n 2 wks ago, we found out that tdy was gonna b sth exciting at e lib. We had signed up for a bookscrapping workshop for parent n child to keep of momentos in life journey n so Ian is excited.

Things were in plan as Joann woke up real early so tdy instead going out in morning, we came home aft bf for her to take early nap n set off for e 2pm workshop n boy, Ian was eager to lay his hands on e notebook while mama just give him guidance tho often he is doing things his way, guess he has his own ideas these days. Well bookscrapping is a Gd idea but we often din do as a lot of materials r needed n time too. So tdy was a Gd chance since a lot of materials were provided n Joann was away for some time so Ian could do his book his way. See how happy he was to do his book.

Thereaft was venturing ard e lib with a lot of activities like mystery box hunt, ballon sculpturing, origami n coloring. Now Ian is in e stage he enjoys coloring (sth mama used to love it so he might get some of e genes hee) n so he was so engrossed in coloring e pic of lib's 43rd bday so much he asked for another pc to bring home haha ya to compare marker coloring n crayon coloring

Well well in e past we never imagine coming lib can b so much fun n we broke our record of staying in lib for more than 2hrs coz usually Joann is e one who drives us busy at lib coz she would b busying taking bks out or disturbing others so tdy was indeed a different one! Happy bday to queenstown lib n thanks for bringing so much fun to us!

Genki sushi.....

Must post this coz we visited genki sushi twice in a wk. on wed, aunty SC came to pick us for lunch n introduce this sushi pl since she heard Ian loves sushi but e boy on e way to orchard did ask to go home to change out of his Sch uniform sigh but we din n that changed his whole mood abt lunching out. We did try to scout for a top but was tough at OC so he was already v uncomfy abt it n aunty sc tried to excite him abt going genki sushi coz it was an innovative concept to order sushi fm iPad mini n then e sushi comes on a bullet train like plates on e conveyor belt but e boy just stayed quiet n shy thru out. We ordered his usuals but he barely touched e food till we nudged him sigh

Then Gd thing aunty sc suggested going CBTL for drink n got him a cheesecake n think that filled his tummy coz he ate quite a fair bit.

Tdy, he actually asked to go genki again. He wanted to intro the pl to his dad haha n aft checking out, there's other branch at Chinatown pt which is near for us n there e boy was happily walloping up e sushi which we ordered most of what we had e other day n ordered more n he ate so so much it was abt $20 worth of sushi. What a CONTRAST! Yes, aunty sc hee that is my boy who will eat up sushi this much so that day u saw e wrong Ian hee. Thanks for e lunch date tho! The boy now loves pressing e button to send e bullet train back but e sister was totally stunned n was taken quite aback by e train hee

Fun under the sun

Tdy, we had some sand digging session at sentosa with ah Mu n ah baa's family since it was such hot day. The kids were busy on e sand n rushing to e shore to get water. Ian was abit apprehensive to go to e sea (as he feared sea animal coming up to 'eat' him hee) but aft a while he was fine seeing his cousins going up n down to get water n started going to try catch fish there too!

Guess e kids had a lot of fun just trying to catch fish n trying to stand in midst of waves. It was real tough asking them to clean up but soon got going as weather got hotter n stomach starts tumbling

Ian is 6 yrs n a mth old

His bday has just passed a mth but it seemed so so long ago we celebrated his 6th bday. Well we bought a Kueh lapis cake fm bintan to celeb w his friends in Sch n all liked e cake hmm simple celeb huh.

Ya n came e mar hols n Easter wk which made e 1 mth seems so long plus mama's bday n all. Well he got his art paintings this term n was excited to share his 'story' so see him busy flashing his paintings but he's a boy who truly enjoys drawing so these days he can doodle on his own for a Gd time which keeps him occupied ESP during communion svc n it's interesting to see his thots in drawings n how he has progressed fm his previous stick man n he has fashion for his 'pple' hee. Can't ask too much abt his 'art' coz he will hv funny answers back hmm

Yes, this mth he started his spelling n he has been doing really well in earning some savings hee coz ah gong rewards him monetarily for full marks n wonder if that is what perks him but well for now, it's a breeze for him to practise for spelling, wonder if it gets tougher.

It's amazing how the little seed of salvation is planted into the boy's heart as he learns about how Jesus got nailed on cross n He came to bear our sins. Just praying he will reap the seeds planted se day. Amazing mth that has just passed! Just so glad to see what God has planted in Ian's life!

It's mummy's bday wkend

Finally e day came as Ian started giving bday drawings n writings even b4 apr came. Well he wanted to make sure they came early n so just glad it's here.

On fri, we had popiah party w strawberry cheesecake made by dayi for dinner. Yeah it's nice to b with family who r just happy it's ur bday, nv mind abt e age n all haha. Daddy was late fm work but glad to hv excited kids n siblings there for mummy n it made up all.

Saturday was Fairfield fun fair n we bought e coupons n was more to check out e Sch for Ian but he looked stunned at e crowd n noise hmm dayi came with us which was Gd so she could help bring Ian ard as he was totally frozen, which we wonder why. Maybe it's all e fanfare n crowd ard but to us, it's a whole lot of memories abt Sch days! There were food n games stalls n some carousel but we were glad e weather was fine for us to wander ard to spend e coupons n grab some stuff. It's e kids' 1st experience of such fun fair but was indeed fun haa look at Ian's stunned smile at e pic captured at e fun fair

On Sunday, Ian awoke to a cheesecake bday cake for mummy as we all woke up late n Joann even missed e cake celeb n daddy got a choc banana cake to celeb at ah Maa's pl n e delighted kids just loved e celeb n yeah e wkend has finally ended. It's nice to see how e kids enjoy e bday celeb n cake tho not a v much sought aft day as we grow older hee

The Holy Wk

Started e wk with Palm Sunday n both Ian n Joann were so thrilled w palm leaves they got fm Sunday Sch so took a pic b4 they went to bed.

Well somehow this yr Ian seems more aware of Easter, wonder issit he's older or his Sch is doing more. We hear him singing 'In the cross' in both eng n Chinese version while he's doing Sch work n yes, it's holy wk n he was saying Good Friday shld b bad Friday coz Jesus died so explained e goodness of Jesus' death, yes a whole lot of theology was needed haha n on thu they celebrates Easter in Sch n was excited to show his Easter card for us which he wrote 复活节快乐 n yes was nice to see how he was excited for Easter. We got e kids both an Easter egg which they both relish it so much n were happy with e Mickey toy.

We had the Easter egg hunt at SBG (invited by uncle Kenneth) n e kids were excited abt e hunt n they all got a kinder joy egg on top of usual egg. Boy, it was fun just looking out for e eggs n so glad to b a part of e hunt!
