Huiling 姑姑's wedding at yong peng, Malaysia 25th may 2013

This is total new experience for e kids n even us to travel to Malaysia for wedding, e last we did was b4 we even had kids n so this was different as e kids had to experience staying in villa together n even staying out late to pre-wedding buffet n a blasting wedding dinner.

The kids were most excited to start e trip w a visit to JB to grab e things we need n some shopping n arcade fun. We then met e extended family for lunch n set off together to yong peng, there were yi maa, biao jiu, biao yi n gu2 n their spouses. Then we went to this big villa with 6 rooms to contain us 5 families. It was fun for e kids coz it means fun all e time with cousins n biao yi n biao jiu to play with.

That nite we were invited to pre- wedding buffet dinner at groom's home n was this huge tentage w tables n u could hardly see this in spore. Loud blasting karaoke while u feast away n we could hardly talk since e music drown our hearing. That nite e kids had to sleep later n yet get up early for bf n tea ceremony e next day.

We dressed e kids in purple in e theme for tea ceremony (except e boys) n e kids were checking out e fun when e groom n e guys came n kept asking y they had to go thru all e 'sabo' b4 getting e bride n Ian even posed with a dissected bee which was used as a tool for the 'sabo' but well they acted as an obstacle too by sitting on stairs n ask for 'big Ang bao' n yes, they gave way aft getting their any bao n were given more during tea ceremony n they were excited to see it going on as it has been a long while they last had jiu2's tea ceremony n at that time, Ian was really young like Joann now.

Then was e ROM n they were treated to a lot of sweet stuff n then was getting ready for e wedding dinner which was held at a huge hall. There was karaoke during intervals of breaks n well another v late nite but they had fun going ard n checking out e wedding stuff like decors, Polaroids n even wedding choc. We were treated to Gd food even had bird's nest at e end n then was fireworks as we made our way out. Wow what a treat to walk under e fireworks. It made e late nite more memorable! Guess e kids really loved e trip n don't think much such trips coking up soon but they could b older when it happens again but good memories

Visit to Jurong Bird Park n to Aunty Lydia's pl

The last time we visited e bird park was Ian's 4th bday, yes b4 we even knew mama was conceiving Joann n a lot memories as e pics r in iPad n often Joann would n viewing e pics so a lot memories here n tdy Ian is really enjoying e bird shows tho he still rem some portion of them. The place has changed somewhat w e newly open research n observation place n Ian loved to see e diff birds' eyes n he even sat in 1 haha

Yes, he is also walking a lot more tho still dun wanna feed e lories tho we stayed quite a while there to enjoy e sound n sight. Then was e usual owl n penguin place we must go tho Ian requested ostrich too n soon made our way out for lunch.

Did prep Ian we r visiting aunty Lydia's pl but was still shy upon arrival n her kids were shy too at 1st. Took some time to break e ice while e mamas busy in kitchen baking strawberry Swiss roll. See e pic of it, looks nice huh. Will try 1 day.

Did hear e kids having lots of fun as Ian got to know e 2 kids n were soon running ard n also playing e slide n swing. V much an indoor playground w even horsey ride. We haven't met for a long time n glad we finally did coz was telling Ian that aunty Lydia is Mama's v Gd old friend hee ya coz he is beginning to ask abt our friends n this is a Gd way to teach abt lasting friendships n well it's even better if our kids could play n have fun while we catch up n even learn baking recipes! It was a long day out but v fulfilling one!

Ian is 6 yrs n 2 mths old

This mth, we see how Ian has grown in his 'love' for Chinese ESP his hanyu pinyin as his fav spot would b at e whiteboard teaching us how to read n write some words which he would correct us as we write on the board. Oh who is the teacher here n of coz e little sis takes over when he is away in Sch hmm n she would doodle over his writing n that gets him upset w his neat writing. Yeah surprisingly his writing turned real neat tho once mama worries his writing would b messy

N now that he can read, he would attempt to read books to his sister. Wow how nice if that could happen daily haha coz now it's based on his mood but he's sure excited that he could read to her!

Now the 2 r able to play better tho e younger is still a little scared of e older haha but it's fun to see how they play like e doc set e brother took out n e sis just let him 'check' like a patient n e bro loves to b e doc. Look at his dr Iong look hee

Visit to the istana on May Day

We last visited the istana 2 yrs ago. Oh time flies! That time, e yet to turn 4yo boy was so grumpy abt e long long walk in on chu er of cny (yes, that time din know mama was expecting Joann already) but Ian was all hyped up aft seeing e playground inside. He could still slide down n do e swings. This time, he seemed to hv grown so big for e games.

Well this time was totally diff coz we went w ah Mu n kids but under e scorching hot sun, they did grumble but with Gd spirit to meet uncle Ben n family! Yes, it's been a long time since we met so e kids r eager to meet them. The kids just love to play w their kids coz they r younger while e young kids were so excited over e whole line up of slides n all. Joann was so psyched up tho she took a short nap.

The place was fun maybe coz of all e kids n we stayed almost 2 hrs just at e playground n then venture to check out e place n took so Gd pic of e istana n of coz the grass pit which seemed so green hee. It was a nice meet up n e kids loved e day out to istana. It's a Gd pl to check out e milestone each time we visit e pl to see how e kids hv changed over e yrs. well e older kids had 'perks' when going out of e istana. Ian had coke to chill out on e way out n it's a treat coz we hardly give him coke. Well it's public holiday huh
