Last Yamaha music lesson

Time flies! Ian has been attending Yamaha junior course for 1.5 yrs so we decided to switch to piano lesson. Reason was coz the course entails singing, music appreciation n electone playing. N after attending it for some time, he seems v interested in playing n shy in singing in class (tho we always tease him when he sings so loudly in car n wish he could do so in class) n also coz they learn music in solfedge which is quite different fm piano playing so thot switching him over earlier might b better. 

Well inertia took some time b4 we decided to make e switch n yes, mama called for this shift n daddy told teacher this reason when asked y not finish e course which is yr end. Hmm coz at the end of 2 terms, there is a 'concert' n mama finds it hard to get him to sing in class n what more the yr end 'test' so aft going abt 60 times to kallang leisure park, tdy is our last time there. We really saw how Ian learn playing electone fm a finger to 2 n 3 fingers n then to both hands. Teacher asked him to show the new piano teacher how he could play 'pretty bouquet' with both hands. Certainly hope the boy presses on with playing coz we hv been monitoring his progress by attending e class w him n wonder if its e same if he learns it on his own

It's time to have their own space

B4 Joann was born, Ian imagined he would b sharing room with his little sister n of coz we din coz too many changes to cope with the little coming n we shelved the plan till some mths back Joann started sleeping thru the nite n was a sign that it might b time. 

Yes we scouted for bed for some time already so when the time comes we don't waste time scouting so we purchased one just 2 wks back n tuned for delivery aft church camp coz the jun staycation n recent church camp proved that Joann is ready to sleep on her own. 

Hmm n well we did hv the place packed, mats rolled away n cleaned up the room n bed was delivered on the very Monday we came home n yes, Ian was kindof excited ESP the nite they slept with their new bedsheets n soft toy but who knows, the one who had little fear was Ian. He came looking for mama aft 1 hr of sleep n aft accompanying to sleep, he came back aft couple of hours n daddy then accompanied him but only to see both kids awoken v early the next morning which prob was Joann who slept v well went to wake gor2 up coz she is on the higher deck n does need gor2's bed to get down. 

Well on n off Ian has been staying over at po2's pl but he did try a couple of times but would end up in daddy n mummy's room well we r still waiting for e day he could really share room with mei2 n yes, we r waiting patiently. The b4 n aft pic of their room

Visit to the spore art museum

We planned to go museum for jun hols but din make time so on e last few days of the hols, we visited the spore art museum as its one of the most impressive children's season we hv been b4 n indeed this time we r amazed at how art is made simple for kids to appreciate.

We went to the diff halls which exhibited kids' art too, yea in the 1st hall, the youngest kid 18 mth could scribble n yet made it to the wall of art, amazing how kids of various ages could put a pc of art together, of coz credit goes to the artist. 

N there were a lot crafts for the kids to do like mask, coloring of cat n postcard with hot air balloon pic n later drawing of white paper n then reflected in a mirror on the wall. Guess e last station was really attractive w the whole array of colors displayed n was Ian's fav rainbow stairs (which he thot was a slide haha) well certainly a fun filled art appreciation trip n the kids enjoyed themselves n we could come back again w Joann!

Extended nite stay at Melaka

We did plan to stay an extra nite at Melaka to check out jonker n e local mkt but e haze was ard so e kids din go there n we bought dinner back to puri hotel. It was nice gathering w church friends to share food n lives. It was a nice extension even with families n friends. 

Church camp at Melaka

Ian has been so looking fwd to going to church camp tho it has been a long while since we attended 1. The last we attended was also at Melaka was Ian was only 14 mths old. Time flies n this time he was attending e children's prog n could see that he was enjoying himself so much that we hardly see him with us. Yes, even meal times he was with the other kids n we only bring him back at nite for bed n see him at breakfast. Hmm hardly know what he eats except lots of cha soba that's y took a pic of him with it. N definitely lots of fruit as he was told to take prior e camp.

Each nite, he will then give 'highlight' of his children's prog n b v happy to play games, learn songs or even craft stuff. They were learning abt daniel's life n were treated to a lot of Gd stuff be it spiritual or physical food. So glad he enjoyed e teachers n even company of other kids as he is e youngest there since e rest r already in pri Sch so was Gd for him to mix w e older kids tho majority were his cousins hee.

They joined e adults for finale's talent nite n was nice to see how e kids sang n danced abt being e little light for God n certainly hope he learns his lessons well n b e little light for Him!

A day spent at the sentosa

Well the 1st Sunday of Sch hols, the Sunday Sch did plan to bring e kids to SEA aquarium at e sentosa but later couldn't go in coz was too crowded so were handed the tics to go on ur own. 

Tdy, ah Mu planned to bring the kids to the aquarium so Ian tagged along while mama went roaming ard to check things n also shopping time. Well they spent a Gd 2.5 hrs in the aquarium as it was also crowded n they took some Gd pics at the aquarium but with ah mu's camera as lighting inside can't take nice pics w hp camera. Guess they had a Gd time admiring the sea creatures n e awesome-ness of all the fishes in the aquarium as they took some drama shots!

Met them aft the aquarium tour n we went imbiah lookout for some playmobil fun which they started w pizza making for their lunch n were given a playmobil figurine together w their lunch. Then played ard e playmobil which were there for kids to play with. Before we left, they took lots of pics w the life size playmobil figurines there. N we parted sentosa to vivocity for some indoor shopping as the haze became worse. Glad ah Mu could take Ian for e aquarium as mama has been in there n glad the kids enjoyed themselves w all the fun, food n more fun!

8th visit to legoland n celebration of Father's Day

We hit off to legoland with ah Mu n fam coz Ian really loved going there w his cousins (ya he could enjoy roller coaster w Seth n e other kiddy rides w joy) so he was most elated to hear that we r going w them. Tdy they had e usual ie boating Sch, aero plane, e 4D shows, e build n test n they signed up for this chima game prog which admits kids above 5yo n they did aft a quick lunch at e medini.

We actually bought quite abit of e photos coz v nicely taken grp shot n yeah we contributed to the legoland fund. It's Gd momento for the kids to keep so we got quite a few pics. We rushed back to hv a Father's Day picnic w Chng clan at gardens by e bay (east) n e kids tried to fly e kite brought by jiu2 n aunty Lorraine but later found it tough coz not much wind but on way out found signs saying no kite flying. Oopps but it was Gd fun for all e folks n kids ESP. Guess e vast space made e difference n just enjoyed e picnic in nature. Can't wait for e next picnic but it's certainly long day for us as Ian was saying it on e way home

Ian is 6 yrs n 3 mths old

Another mth just flew past with all e spelling n PTM n even start of Sch hols.

This mth, mama spent quite a fair bit of 1 to 1 time w Ian. We went ptm n then had a Gd lunch chatting and at recent tune hotel stay, for once mama shared room with him n not Joann. Oh this boy loves to chat at bedtime(dayi, he's same as u. Even po2 says he can keep chatting till zzz while stayover haha) n ya his memory is amazing as could tell fm his spellings n even during 1 of e nite chats, mama was telling him who was uncle TB fm church n guess what mama could only rem that uncle did kids' sermon b4 but can't rem e content n Ian re-counted back all e kids sermon n slowly recalled who he was. Wow even mama can't rem e content of his sermon abt diff bags. Oh oh is it coz he's younger so can rem. oh can't fight w him when it comes to memory.

This mth, he went pasta mania for outing with Sch n he did his own pizza n they got e apron n hat home n well he loves to bake n prob eat too hee as he ate his own pizza (with mushroom too tho usually he doesn't like mushroom) n even helped friend who couldn't finish.

It's amazing to see how big his appetite is as now he's almost finishing a usual adult meal ie he can finish a whole bowl of yong tau foo noodles which is his fav now n going for sushi, he can easily eat more than mama arrghh this is scary for 6yo boy tho a lot pple say he looks bigger than his age, ya he went supermarket w po2 n e cashier auntie asked how he did for Sch n that auntie was shocked that he is k2 only, she thot he was abt p2 haha big boy huh

This hols he enjoyed his fav stayover at po2's pl, he did for 2 consecutive nites b4 e JB stayover. If not for that trip, he prob can stay whole wk. guess he loves e freedom there n Gd company for po2 who enjoys his endless talking haha n wonder issit po2 brainwash, now he wanna b doc so he's crazy over e doc set n mei2 becomes his guinea pig hee. Yes, p1 reg is coming up n he does hv his preference for Sch but we keep this truly in prayer where God leads coz it's 6 yrs of grooming which he will go thru n we know he's in God's hands n we wanna commit it to God who will see him thru this Gd 6 yrs too. Another 3 wks of Sch hols b4 e final 2 terms of k2 beckons!

Off to aunty Lorraine's place!

Yeah Ian has been excited abt visiting aunty Lorraine n Caitlin coz he has been talking so much abt them n we r finally seizing e hols oppt to visit them. Well afterall Ian did had a stayover at aunty Lorraine n jiu2's pl some 2 yrs ago n had somewhat fond memories of e pl.

The kids were excited to embark on e train ride coz they rarely take train. Reaching their pl, they were busy going ard e pl n checking out the toys n ESP sylvanian family for e 2 boys. Had a Gd time with cousin Caitlin n aunty Lorraine was really nice to do baking with e kids n they loved helping out every bit of it. They had a Gd treat to choc muffin n even super lemon sweet on e way out. Guess it's a Gd chance to catch up with aunty Lorraine b4 she gets busy with her no. 2 n e kids r really anxious to hv another baby cousin soon!

Legoland to end our trip

IWe were thinking where to go tdy since we went legoland n watched movie. We then decided to go legoland again haha sounds crazy coz we hv always avoided sat coz of e crowd so tdy we had a full bf at dim sum pl then went tesco n bought quite a lot of stuff. Ya n quickly went to legoland coz scared of crowd there n even car park.

Surprisingly it wasn't so bad, we prep Ian in case crowded we better go off fast but tdy we did accomplish a lot in 2hrs+. Almost e same as thur which was e boating Sch which we could take with Joann. 4 roller coaster rides for Ian, a few other rides like aero plane, train, beetle bounce n even adventure of lost kingdom. Haha we seem v well versed where we wanna go n even planned how we shld get pics to make wallet photo e next round. Hmm so sat isn't that bad so we shall plan a few more sat trips to seize our annual pass b4 it ends! Ya n we did our usual shopping at jusco n even tesco again coz we din some stuff in morning so it was yet another tiring day to end e trip n Ian was most reluctant to go home but well there's always next time! N bye to tune hotel, wonder when we will b back 

Our getaway to JB 6-8 jun

Whenever we hit holidays, Ian will request to go legoland n we will tell him next time but this hols we planned it almost half yr ago coz tune hotel was having promo n mama thot we might as well book n come legoland to play n this was a rare time we come legoland wo ah mu's family so did ask Ian if he would b game to take rides still n his answer was a definite YES so guess he really loves e rides

Yes,he has been so looking fwd to this trip, he made sure he din miss any chance of not coming along ie making sure he wasn't gonna stay at po2's pl n was really excited abt going for e trip n just waited to reach legoland.

This was indeed a diff trip coz we planned e route with Joann in mind n he went boating with daddy as usually e queue is v long n then he went for e roller coaster ridessss (coz he took 4 times) while mama went train ride with Joann n then we did our usual shoots n he took some rides w Joann n this time we went to 4D show coz there was a new show 'legend of Chima' n Ian requested to watch racers show again n was nice to b indoors coz e weather was too hot, he then went build n test n his tea cup b4 we left for lunch n then he was excited abt tune hotel n both kids just plonked on bed n Gd thing we packed dinner coz it poured n we had late lunch so dinner by bed was superb!

On fri, it was shopping cum movie day. We watched epic n was Gd coz Ian could see how nature is closely linked to each other n e beautiful side of conservation of nature. Din see e poster of e movie but both kids took pic with monsters inc. Then was his usual arcade time n our makan meals! It was a tiring day coz we walked a lot n he calculated we spent 7-8 hrs at e mall!

Guess he's just glad to b sound asleep aft 2 long days!

Our 1st baking session

Aft coming back fm aunty Lydia's pl some wks back, mama promised to do baking w Ian for this hols n yes, tdy we tried e strawberry Swiss roll. It wasn't easy baking w e boy who has 1001 questions n always wanting to try. Hmm our attempt started even with egg breaking haha couldn't get e yolks apart fm e whites n ended up having to buy more eggs. 

Then was e whisking n sieving which e boy was v keen to help n he even did piping for e 'strawberry' shapes n he wanted heart shape which seem a bit tough to get. Well he was patient to see e whites get whisked n even mixing e batter. Finally e cake came out but abit too thick to roll but we did e decoration still n Ian loved his decor n even wanted to show daddy at nite. Well his roll cracked so there's a lot more fine tuning to do b4 we could even try baking for pple. At e time being, it's for family tasting n it does tastes alright n will do a few more times to get it right n well e boy is most keen to do again but gotta park mei2 at po2's pl, I guess

Sch hols has started!!!

Another 10 wks of Sch has passed n e Sch hols started w a seemingly busy wkend for Ian. On sat, we attended a children's carnival at toa payoh church n Ian had a real Gd time at e fair as we had so much coupons for him to go endlessly at e games stalls. Yes, endless cos just we couldn't finish e coupons. So for 1st ever record, e boy could just keep tearing coupon in exchange for fun n prize which was a lot of stationary which they came bagging with. Until a point we even rejected winning e carnival coupons as prize! Well it was fun fun fun

N on Sunday, we had signed Ian up for e Sunday Sch outing to SEA aquarium n off they went aft svc. But later got a call fm ah Mu to say they r heading back as e queue was too long n well they had fun just going ard e place n captured shots with his cousins. Well they shld b back at aquarium soon with e tics. This busy wkend marks e start of Ian's 4 wks hols!
