A short getaway

One of those random trips we made as it's the last few days of Sch hols n wanted some getaway so we made a very last min decision to go puteri stay AGAIN! It was just a couple of mths ago we stayed over (it was mar hols n just b4 daddy was going for biz stay) 

This time, it's v different coz the kids totally din know we made this plan as yest morning Ian woke up seeing mama shifting his luggage n he asked if we were going for hotel stay n coz he knew we were going for movie (just dunno where), he then whispered into Joann's ears who was still sleeping but her reaction was prized- she then woke up immediately but couldn't quite open her eyes yet, sat up n clapped! Yes, this is how much our kids loved hotel stay! Off we went n they were surprised to have a guest coming w us! Yes it was dayi! Planned to have a day out w her but she will come back for fri family dinner. The kids loved to have her n they had endless conversations w her, yeah 1 more adult to answer their endless questions! 

We had a yummy bf, zoomed into tesco to grab our stuff so to catch the 11am minions movie. Had loads of pop corn n Joann zonked off half way coz woke up too early but good she did that so we went for lunch aft she woke up. The kids requested for nandos n had a good meal there, quiet place. We then went off to check us into the hotel. It was quite funny for kids to insist dayi to come visit our room n had a game on iPad (as if really to host a guest) we then walked over to city sq n bade farewell to dayi who was making her way back to sg. A good day out w dayi n hope she enjoyed as much haha

We then went ard to shop n to fulfil our arcade mission - to use up the credits as it's not usable at other arcades n refund the card. The kids had endless fun n Ian got 'hooked' on racing cars, he played at least thrice. Well then we adjourned to meldrum walk! We haven't been back here w the kids, it's a good street mama n daddy used to come n enjoy street food even b4 we got married n yesterday we finally did it in bringing the 2 kids along! Told them we can't find such food street anywhere else except in msia. Well Ian loved the variety, we had chic rice, Popiah, fried Kway teow, porridge, fried oyster n even Dabao bbq chic wings b baosss coz it's a must to take w their super huge bao! We have done it a couple of times on Melaka n this time must take wefie shot too! Ya it was such a satisfying nite haha. Think we over ate so it was good we din have hotel bf next morning. Need to rest our tummy as next day we head to bukit indah n did our lady round of shopping, eating n arcade fun! It was such a short but fun trip, Joann asked to return to this hotel again hmm but then again she loves every hotel. We bought some durians home n for our very sua ku kids who hardly eat durian fm the husks, they took more shots w the husk n they drank n washed their hands w water from the husk. It was a good getaway fun we had. Here we go, 2nd half of the year! Cheers to more fun....

Our 1st RC outing

We have never participated in any of our RC event as it's usually either very late on wkends (those festive block party) or either it's on wkends. So this only event caught our eyes as it was a visit to the gardenia factory n it's during Sch hols on a wkday. 

But it was tougher than we could imagine to secure the tics.  We went to purchase tics on the 1st evening n it was the nite daddy worked late so mama brought both kids downstairs to get 6 tics but it was the last 5, some pple came along n rc guy said might hv a 2nd bus. Did procrastinate whether to bring Joann as it was her nap time. The rc guy din call back abt the 2nd bus n so decided not to bring Joann. But wasn't sure if we could lve her w po2 as she has been going out w us this hols n besides she hasn't been napping at po2's pl for some time. Took a while to leave her there but glad had dayi there w her.

The tour was kind of informative of what we have been eating almost daily. Yes, a fan of gardenia we were introduced to more variety, there is country loaf n focaccia bread which we don't quite see. We saw the bread process n it's quite cool to see the 16 steps involved n din think it takes so long that make bread n kids were introduced to the steps involved n even sampled the bread w spread for refreshments. Kind of good for the kids of their age to know n were treated to their choc n strawberry buns as a goodie bag for the visit to factory b Ian had both for bf tdy! So yummy huh n well the vending machine to buy bread is cheaper n we got our fav corn loaf home! Our 1st rc event and must say it's quite a pleasant one, will attend more such informative ones if they come up w more!

It's such a happy day

An unexpected ride up to Pasir Ris for the kids as they knew it was Paul's bday but dunno where it was. They couldn't wait but told them it was noon n so we had to while our morning away. We had them scooter to look for the stable but it was under works n so it was park fun. They scootered back where we started n explored the various parts. Ian loved the wobbly bridge which Joann was screaming she couldn't do it. Ian had a few many rides on swings n after much refusal fm us to push him for the swing, he finally learnt how to play the swing. It was a hot time under the sun but the kids loved it.

It was time to head to the bday party n aft much time, Ian was bored at the place at 1st n finally lunged into the bouncy castle too haha. A little too tiny for him but he had some good fun w bday boy n his sis b4 the crowd came. At least he did go up to take pics w all the kids as he did feel he was too 'old' haha hmm us 4 yrs a big gap, he felt rather childish. But left happily w a goodie bag too!

Evening was a time spent w daddy's friends n din have much chance to talk to kids of his age n so he tagged w mei2 n friends haha. He had the playground fun w the younger ones but he enjoyed himself thoroughly too. It's been a long while we met these friends n they rem Ian as they saw Ian in his toddler days, that was the time they all got married n we lugged him along. Time flies, now the kids are so big n running ard on their own. Wonder if the next meet up is soon. Ian went to bed feeling happy too but he  says its a tiring day, time to rest his body n tired legs

A day out at bedok with dayi

Yes, another day out and tdy was with dayi who specially took lve to spend time with the kids and our mission was to visit uncle James' new born baby Authur. It was nice to carry such newborn again and to feel such gentle tiny hands and feet which God made it all. The kids had fun with toys at the place so no chance to carry baby except mummy. Will be back to play with Annabelle who was at child care and Joann wanted to wait for her to come home which was likely to be evening. We shall b back

Then was to explore bedok as we ventured the mall and dayi recommended Tim ho wan, a pl we daren't go coz the kids can eat a lot at dim sum pl so it was a rare treat fm dayi! Some shopping ard n having fun at the mall n then it was dessert at the famous llao llao which was dayi's recommended pl for frozen yogurt and it was a sure treat as each kid had a cup w smarties as toppings hmm yum yum. It was a fun day just to catch up w dayi as the kids missed much of her presence and sure thing to do this day out thing with dayi next hols again. 

SEA games carnival

Sounds a little crazy aft a late sleep on Sunday nite, the kids woke up to more fun at the SEA games on mon morning haha. Tiring 3 days in a stretch but the kids enjoyed the carnival. Tho a lot more crowded, they finished another card w 5 stamps. N the prize was a huge badge haha. But more impt they had fun at the bouncy castle, coloring, hockey n the boxing ring haha. It was funny how we ended up at the boxing ring as it was Joann's request. She had seen pple boxing in the ring while queuing for the hockey game n she insisted on queuing for that tho it was abt 45 mins queue. Her insistent wait paid off as the 4 cousins had silly fun on the ring so much the lady helping went in to ensure Joann is safe haha coz the older cousins were into real boxing. It was a fun day for all tho it was the 2nd visit for the older kids. They still enjoyed the games n even just at stage watching pple play hula hoop n skipping n then the magic show. 

Well time flies for the games to b over but we sure had lots of momentos n memories of these games as kids are counting when is the next time it's gonna b held here. Wonder if we would b going together then or even volunteering haha. Ian had been so caught up with the medal tally every evening n even asked to cut the newspaper cutting for last tally. Well guess he is into serious sea games catch up. A lot of memories of the games we watched n he sure hope he watched more games which we missed while away. Even asking if next sea games we could go attend in msia haha serious catch up...

USS here we come!!!

It was exactly 3 yrs ago, daddy's coy family day was held at USS n this yr coz of SG 50 they had it again. It's more enjoyable this yr coz the kids are older. We could make them nap later to stretch for the nite. Rem 3 yrs ago, we were still having Joann in stroller n left the park with Ian napping away in the stroller. 

This yr, Ian knows exactly what he was going for n was v excited. For Joann who has been dying to go legoland coz it's the only theme park she has gone, she din know what was coming except warning her of huge mascots which she is fearful of. 

We headed straight into the Dino park which was the furthest n took the flying Dino together b4 Ian went those more exciting rides w daddy. We rem the last Ian loved the enchanted airways, it was that time we discovered his love for roller coaster.

So tonite he was game for any ride n daddy brought him to most rides haha. We went to revenge for mummy in UNiversal studios in U.S. n Thot he would loved it haha coz the roller coast goes backwards at some part but he told daddy it was scary haha. We found sth to scare him! But he loved the canopy flyer which dangles in the air. We spent a fair bit of time at goldilocks restaurant coz we had food coupon n aft that Ian requested for his fav Dino ride n they walked all the way in again. Ian din take v much pics coz busy with rides. Really tempting to get annual pass but must wait till the girl is all set to take all those thrilling rides so we don't need to split up as a family. But well kudos to psa family day coz of the small crowd we din hv to queue much for all the rides n evening is much cooler than the day! A lot of pics not up coz brought DSLR since it was mostly nite shots 

The Saturday daddy had to work...

It's been a while daddy had to work on sat n mummy has been toying w the idea to bring the 2 kids out on public tpt for the past wk but just back fm msia trip 1 needs to catch up on rest n the other catch on work so decided tdy would b good!

We had bf n picked Ian up fm po2's pl coz he stayed over n claimed he was still zz when po2 woke him up so he was yawning on bus ride to national museum. Both kids too spoilt, been ferried a lot by daddy so v excited to take bus but tho it was double decker, we couldn't go up coz Joann still not stable.

Reached the national museum for kids season on Masak Masak n Ian felt the dragon slides too kiddy for him and Joann hopped on but complained too wet so went straight to the galleries n they had good fun w the exhibits but this time cut half coz 2nd level was dedicated to lky memorial n both kids rem him so took pics n Ian spotted lky red box. Well good to hv gallery there but change of mood as could see a lot pple came for that rather than the children's season.

Went for all galleries n Joann was so engrossed n had to ask her go for lunch. We walked to raffles city n both decided on sushi tei n was nice to go for a pl not too crowded n both enjoyed their food, rem not to over order as daddy not ard. Aft lunch was Lego fun as game booth was on n then adjourned to donut treat as gor2 was tired haha wonder who is the younger one. 

Well we were abt to make our way to Padang then we were stopped for a art session for the kids, pretty nostalgic as it was shrink art which mama did yrs b4 we had Ian n it was coloring a pic n then it would shrink to become a small tag for keychain n both kids were given a tub of candy floss! 

Finally adjourned to watch sea games - pétanque at Padang n it was a new game to us but good location for us to walk there n nice atmosphere tho it was a foc event. Cool place as weather was cool n it's a cool game too (as in a lot teamwork needed as we could see) glad we made it to watch another event near our proximity. 

Daddy then joined us for dinner there n kids had a Lego galore! Hmm guess we lugged home more Lego! What a fruitful day n mummy enjoyed this day out w kids n maybe shld do more b4 Sch starts n Joann is good tho she skipped her nap n was cheerful thru the day! N Ian survived his tiredness too! Another busy day coming up...

Pit stop at Melaka 8-9 jun

Aft sitiawan, we travelled 4-5hrs to a pit stop for a nite n glad we made this break in the trip as we were all tired with the traveling. Aft much jam n all we met at a restaurant for late lunch as our hearty bf at sitiawan was ba kut teh. 

A quick check into puri hotel n we were given a room which we stayed abt 4 yrs ago? N it was pre-Joann days haha n Ian was as young as her now. A lot of memories coz he was v curious like her now. Just that this trip is much shorter n coz we were there on a wkday not much to do except to soak in the food there ie the Kueh, biscuits n shopping! This time we went to an Indian tandoori stall which was highly recommended by uncle Kenneth n we all enjoyed the food! One more extra place of good food place Melaka! The kids loved the naan n we shld b back soon. Next morning was just leisure bf n shopping n head back to spore. We were glad there was a pit stop to our fav town!

We are back at sitiawan!

Yes, we are back to this town in msia. Din expect to b back so soon since we just came in dec n again during CNY but yes, we are back at this quaint town just 3 mths later but this time for a joyous occasion as 1 of the aunts got married n it's different this time as it was ah gong's relative so it was meeting up w diff grp of pple. 

We travelled back on Friday n was more relaxed as we hit into JB for breakfast n then went to near genting for a lunch n was at the town just in time to grab some grocery stuff n then the rest came in n we had dinner together. 

Sat was the wedding day but morning was leisure still so all had a hair cut at this really Gd saloon n we then all dressed up for the wedding lunch which followed by the tea ceremony where the adults met up n had some catch up too. Long day but a lot of good food time, guess in the town of Fuzhou dishes n the kids all loved it! Sure to put on weight

Tdy was the leisure day so we did the tomb visit n was kind of good to intro the elders to the kids. Then we visited the few relatives which we usually do n then was yummy lunch again. This time we got more shopping to do! N ended the nite w a carnival fair which the kids all won something to end the day on a happy note! Tmr is the day we will bid farewell n wonder when we will b back again to this town n to this big house with fond memories!

SEA games 2015

There has been a lot of build up to this event coz Ian went Pri Sch n they told them a lot abt it. He would come back to test us abt it eg how many sports featured n the things done at the event n even got nila stuff back so his sis is introduced to this new character. So we did think of buying tics for the event but there are a lot of sports Ian is keen to watch. But we won't b ard for some part n so we bought tics for synchronized swimming for tdy's finals (we dunno sg's standing for the event but felt it's a sport they would appreciate. 

A lot of excitement as we were making our way there coz last mon we did recce abit- there is a HUGE carnival there n v pro in making their lanyard n game card. A lot a lot of freebies hmm make us wonder how much $ they pump in! There are a lot of game booths n after a game card is completed u can redeem prizes. Good to have company along so they could choose what they want to play together if not then can jump queue when One is done w the game. But it was a hot hot weather we were under esp when kids queuing for this ninebots fun. 

Well well the main thing we came for was the synchronized swimming n yes, v exciting watching at the new Ocbc aquatic ctr. Esp when SG team was participating. We could immerse in the cheering n all. For noon event SG team got silver n evening event SG team came in 1st. Wow exciting n glad we bought tics for this coz not shown on TV n think the kids would rem this for life n would know they could train to hold their breath for long long time underwater haha n yet doing graceful moves! 

Well well it has been an eventful day n tired bodies are in bed n possibly dreaming away but well might just pop by again for them just to play play play!

Sch hols is here!!!!

Somehow Ian was really happy aft Sch on Friday n guess coz its Sch hols. It's different reaction fm both kids haha but glad it's a mth break fm Sch. 

To start the long hols, it's a long wkend n quite a packed wkend. Sat we headed to north for some sandart fun at Yishun reservoir. Nice pl as some wedding couples came here to take pics. We headed here coz have a full mth baby shower near here. It's jakin's baby shower n kids are really happy to go parties which is always queer how they love party fun! Yes, got together w jarius at the party n ended w Aiden n Adana to go for extra fun aft the party. Kids had so much fun together!

Sunday we did sth new which we started last wk w ah baa n kids which was b4 dinner at ah maa's pl, the kids would scooter all the way down the river to boat quay n Clarke quay. Yest, ah baa's fam not ard n daddy not so well so mummy did w the kids. Kind of nice walk or run down as the kids zoom down spore river. Past a lot landmarks n good exercise n end off w ice cream treat at ACM. Good to do w them every Sunday!

N tdy being Vesak day was a PH so dayi Jio us go gardens by the bay. We last went to the dome was abt 3 yrs ago? Joann wasn't walking yet n on the pram n tdy she walked both domes w us n was good! At some pts the kids had camera to snap Away. The kids loved the flowers n space to roam ard. A diff way to enjoy the flowers, away fm the hot n humid weather. Hope they won't bug us to go soon coz we do scooter past this place often but they nv knew what beauty lies in the place haha. Nice long wkend to kick start the busy Sch hols coming up!

PTM

Last wed was Ian's ptm n he was really excited to attend ptm w mummy coz mummy never lug him along for last yr coz mei2 was always ard n tough to bring both kids to talk. This yr, we decided daddy doesn't need take lve look aft them since Joann is at Sch n so Ian comes w mummy. He was excited to send mei2 to Sch n to revisit his Kindy. 

His ptm was usual wait but this time he tells me where he sits n shy to tell me abt his classroom but at least this time mummy doesn't look strange wo a kid coz most parents bring all their kids in uniform along. Well good update abt him in Sch n well teacher made them write target set for next time n steps to reach there. Hope he gets better results next time hmm tho he told teacher he is happy w his marks haha.

Ended the day aft pick Joann fm Sch was to walk to a cafe nearby to hv lunch. Quite nice lunch served at decent price coz wkday promo n well gor2 decides to treat ice cream for the lunch. Look at the happy smiles!!! Ian had Mao Shan wang ice cream n Joann took cotton candy
