Ian went Sunday Sch without daddy and mummy =)

Some wks ago, we happened to borrow this book from library that shows the progress of a new born baby who slowly grew to crawl, to talk, to walk and eventually going to school (the last pic showed the boy taking sch bus with his mummy and daddy shedding 'tears' behind coz their beloved baby can go to sch on his own) and we have been drumming into him that children go to sch without mummy and daddy....we have been preparing him for past wk to go Sun Sch alone (with all the aunties and children there) and last Sun, when we were sending him off to Sun Sch, he tugged daddy's hand to go with him and well mama thot that's the end, daddy gonna be stuck with him at least thru the whole session...Ian's usually ok during the play time but will wanna have daddy/mummy with him thru the worship 1st so we trying to cut off even bringing him to the worship time coz we feel he's ready to go Sun Sch alone with the kids

so when mama went down to social hall after svc and daddy was carrying Ian hhmm and boy was mama wrong, Ian just needed daddy to usher him in to Sun Sch and soon he joined Joy and Seth in the worship (coz they came slightly later) and he let go of daddy's hand....hhmm whatever happen after that we are not sure coz we asked Seth if Ian stood to sing during worship he said yes but whether Ian did join in the worship or just looked ard we weren't sure

And that day after worship was telematch for the kids....boy when mama heard telematch, we were wondering if Ian could participate and well Aunty Lorraine came down early and saw the boy was participating well in the 'telematch' hahaaa and he was able to 'run' fast across the hall with the ball in the cup and he could aim well into where the ball was supp to land...hhmm except the game when Ian was asked to bite the straw with rubber band, he just told the teacher No....hahaa he must be thinking what can he drink with the rubber band...anw it was a gd start Ian went Sun Sch on his own and guess the prep did help coz we have been telling him no daddy and mummy go sch with the children....well there is no Sun Sch this wk and next wk is the final session before the new yr begins and we are hoping Ian can go the Nursery class at the Sun Sch where he can learn proper lessons instead just meddling with toys (which he's getting a little bored except for the zoom cars which he's still attracted to hhmm) Gd start gd start, my boy is growing up =) at least mama and daddy can go service v soon!!!

*Disclaimer: the pic above is taken on Sat and not sun, and of coz Ian doesn't bring a ball to Sun Sch hahaaa...din take any pic of him at Sun Sch so just grab any pic....wonder if anyone took pics of them at the telematch...Ian's very 1st telematch hahaa wonder if he understood the concept of running fast and winning the match hhmm

Ian's with his 1st ever Playstation session!!!

Today we headed to the West to Uncle Eugene and Aunty Esther's new home for small grp and again Ian had the privilege of being the only kid ard and he was totally entertained at the session. Uncle Eugene had taught him to play the Play Station and boy were we surprised Ian picked up the skills quite fast hhmm....but it was an entertaining and educational game for Ian hehee...it was abt a virtual pet Ian had adopted which comes in the form of a cute monkey
Its a simulation of having a pet monkey (u actually can see how it grows from an egg and u could name it and pet it tho virtually) and u can choose the kind of hair styling u want (if u could see from the pic taken, there's a monkey with a mohican hairstyle) and Ian could bathe, shampoo, hair dry, feed the monkey with cookie, feed the monkey pet with milk and even pet it to sleep....well he was totally captivated by the simulation and so was mama!!!
Guess this game just makes us so amazed how the web cam could sense the movement and do the simulation...u could even teach the monkey to sing and draw pictures (which can be controlled like a control car) hhmm makes mama really tempted to get 1 of the playstation hahaaa but guess it will go non-stop if we ever get 1 so dun mind getting the game for someone who has the playstation and then Ian could drop by wkly to check on his pet hahaa...gd idea so we do not need to keep any pet at home and yet can be 'entertained' by the fun we can get out from having a pet....hhmm just wondering who wouldn't mind that?? hahaa how abt DAYI??? The 1st person who came to our mind...

Yeah its HOLIDAY again!!!

Yest we picked Ian from po2's place and he has learnt from po2 that today will be holiday and thus daddy will not be working and we could go out play...he was so excited and woke up pretty early and then we had bf with ah ba and ah mu's family...see the 3 kids having their you tiao after their bf...dunno why kids just love you tiao but not so gd for their heart so they having their rare treat!
Seeing that the weather is SO GD, we headed to Sentosa for their beach fun....they just had endless digging, getting water to add to their sand and then more digging...here they are with the 3 'sand cakes' and boys are boys, the 2 boys just smashed their 'cakes' after the pic and they went on to smash Joy's 'cake'...sigh but they had so much fun and glad the sun was out to shine on us....its been a while we went outdoors with such sun
They had some water fun at the fountain and its their 1st time there but they were SO EXCITED abt the fountains that they kept getting into the water and running ard, it was so tough to get them to bathe guess they were too excited abt water fun....yah earlier Ian asked if he could swim in the seawater coz there were quite alot pple swimming there as well hhmm it was our lunch time at Vivo and then time for the younger 2 kids nap and they had nap on the go since weather was so gd....

We ended up East Coast road for tea break coz ah mu rem there was this nice traditional coffeeshop to have their cupcakes, toasted buns and pastries....and the kids loved the chocolate cupcakes....it was a nice pl to chill out tho was super hot hehee but soon the rain came....hhmm guess untimely but we did some 'shopping' at Henderson coz some sale there and then the rain stopped when we were out from the shop and it was SAFRA swim time =)

the kids were most excited esp Ian who hasn't swam for some gd long wks....he's been asking to swim but the weather is so erratic and also he's been having on and off cough...well we made it today and he had endless fun with his other 2 cousins...he was most thrilled with the shark water gun....see how he was spraying at mama even while taking pics...guess the older 'kids' also enjoyed their water fun see the 2 men behind the pics having their fun in the water with the kids hheee well just glad the 2 men din need to work coz usual will be the 2 mummies in the water looking after the kids on usual Fri noon....we just love HOLIDAYS, dun we? (with a glee smile =)

EXERCISE time!!!

Just last wk, mama was teaching Ian how to do some exercise (so as to max out Ian's energy haha) and 2 evenings ago, he started doing in the living room and insisted daddy to follow him as well...it was quite hilarious how he asked daddy to join him....hhmm then now he's 'hooked' on it hahaa....some gd abdominal muscle building huh...well we rem when Ian was really young he will always lift up his legs and hold it in the air and at that time we thot his abdominal muscles must be quite there hahaa....after some many mths, its back to training him again =) but now he knows what is exer-cise....

Just a different Sat!

Our usual Sat routine was to go back po2's place for family dinner and today we had a different plan coz dayi has the Accor card and we could go for novotel buffet at 50% off...gd deal huh!
All thanks to dayi we could come for the buffet and gd thing most hotels only start charging kids when they turn 5 so these 3 kids had their buffet for free!!!
For Ian, he is always an eater so always a gd deal to bring him for buffet BUT also for them reason we kindof abstained from buffet coz he might just overeat (so do we!!!) hahaa so after he had his chicken rice, sushi, pizza and then the sweet treat to durian penggat, mama said it was time for his nap hahaa then he went off with daddy in the pram and came back knocked out in his pram...yeah bad for his tummy but he was really tired coz he slept late last nite (after BBQ) and yet still woke up early (maybe he could smell the wkend is here hahaa!!)

After so much food, it was fun in the outdoor so we headed to the usual SBG place for the kids to feed the fish and turtles....then we went to the park for the frisbee training for the 2 little ones hehee see how they were learning to twist their waist to fling out the frisbee as ah mu was teaching them how to fling out rather than throw them on the floor hahaa it was all fun and laughter! Then we headed for dinner (yea more for the kids coz they din eat as much as we did lah!) Just glad to have such a fun wkend!

Ian's 1st 'official' BBQ!!!

hhmm 1st official coz he's been to a BBQ last yr when we had chalet at NSRCC but he was too young to eat anything from the BBQ so he was still having his usual 'baby food' - porridge hahaa so when we got the invitation to go for this BBQ gathering I was quite keen also coz this grp of pple is a grp we dun v often but its nice to meet up with them....the pple just loved Ian and insisted we din need bring any food for the potluck BBQ but just bring Ian....hahaa what kindof gd deal rite, how could we say NO.

So we had our round of dinner 1st coz still think the food not too gd for Ian and besides not sure what time the fire is ready coz Ian's dinner is usually v early!
Well when Ian was there he was overwhelmed by the number of aunties and uncles there (coz mama did prep him there are alot uncles and aunties and there is food as well!) he took a gd hr to warm up and daddy was carrying him for a gd while before he got so acquainted with the adults and started running ard (guess reason also being he's the only kid ard!) See he was ok with Auntie Angie and it was so nice of Auntie Angie to get Ian a party pack to 'entertain' him...see what privileges u get when u are the only kid!

And then Ian started 'ordering' his food...sigh just when the adults finished all the sausages he started asking for 1 and Auntie Amanda was so nice to do 1 for him...and he has fishballs, satay, prawn and a cup of orange hhmm...gd we had prep his dinner else he will be asking for endless food coz some of the food are his fav! It was a cool evening for BBQ and we had a gd time just chatting with the folks and catching up with them coz we hardly have the luxury of time in church on Sun! Just love such fellowship! And of coz Ian was so acquainted with the folks he was busy saying Bye and giving his flying kisses as we had to exit early for his beauty sleep hahaa but well the uncles and aunties were most pleased to get the flying kisses from him =)

A time out to the Children's park!

On Fri, we had a great time with Aunty Lorraine with the kids at the SBG's children's garden and the kids had a whale of time there coz its been sometime they had such water fun...Ian was having so much fun with Seth gor2 running ard the place and just enjoy getting water into the watering can and splashing at each other hhmm
till we hardly manage to get any nice shots of them at the camera....here's Ian at the 'fountain' trying to get water and soon he realised he could sit still at some of the water outlets and just enjoying the 'massage' moments to his butt!!! Just glad there are days pple could come by with their car and bring the kids out for some fun and also make us mummies happy coz we do not need to stay home all the time =)

O our estate!!!

Where we are staying is so near to almost everywhere....its a few mins drive to SBG, to the Sentosa, to our church, to the town (not forgetting mama's occasional late nite shopping) hahaa so we won't trade anything to shift out of this area coz we are so used to convenience....guess the land is expensive here so we rarely get BIG fields like this....we are glad we can have this open field which links to TB plaza....so for us to get there this is kindof a short cut...these days we see some Indian nationals enjoying their cricket game here...some wks ago we saw the 'moo-moo cows' sticking out of the grass and some yrs back it was a showflat area for nearby condo!!

Mama loved the towering trees and it's been always a dream to take a nice shot with the background! And mama finally did it with Ian coz last wk, it just announced that this land is gonna build more flats for enbloc!!! Sigh guess there goes more running space and means more neighbours but we sure hope it brings more facilities and maybe a covered walkway to TB plaza??
By that time, guess our green space is just the small plot of land directly below our flat and the running space is constrained to the playground but gd thing its a long stretch of greenery that links both the playgrounds for our blocks! Will take Ian more to the green space before the building starts and more noise and pollution coming along??

Our 4th trip to zoo in this yr!!!

Nope we din join Friends of the zoo hahaa coz find it convenient just getting daddy to get his corporate pass and we could go to the zoo FOC....this time its Seth's request to visit the zoo coz its been some time since we went there! Its always a time to rem the last we came here coz from the time Ian was a baby on mama's arms till he was just a toddler learning to walk till today he's walking quite a far bit, its a milestone each time we come here! Tho the weather is not super gd, we still made it coz it poured in the morning and the sky was clearing!!

So we zoomed for the splash safari show which was entertaining for the kids and from past exp, we had to be early to get gd viewing and we actually were sitten at the front 2nd row (of coz away from the splashing zone!!) and some pri schs came later and the poor kids had to sit on the wet ground hhmm the kids were just thrilled with the manatees, African penguins, the sea lion and all! A splashing gd time!!

Then we went for the Elephants of Asia show and again we got a gd spot and yes, its so gd we got some splashing from the elephants hahaa this was deliberate coz we came before and we din mind sitting where we could get some wet hahaa but boy were the kids wet by the spraying of the trunks! And at the end of the show we went for the elephant token feeding....we have done the giraffe and the kangaroo so we were game for bigger animals?? haha nope, it ended mama was the only one feeding coz Ian and seth chickened out ahhaa....but they were helping to pass the fruit for mama to feed thru the trunk! Sigh so much abt Ian saying wanna feed the elephant...hhmm what animal shld we try the next time??

Then of coz from exp again, we brought our own packed lunch coz there's we know the food there is pricey and by packing our own lunch we could have it anytime rather than having to find the restaurant! And so we got chicken rice for all of us and it was gd coz the kids were feed on their own so we had quite a gd time at the elephant area for lunch (tho we did get some 'smell treat' on and off hahaa) and the kids had MILO (in substitute of their usual milk) before the younger ones took their naps in their prams!

After the nap, the weather started to change but we were still glad we made it to see more exhibits like this ape (which was a gd treat coz it was so close to the glass panel we could take a pic upclose with it) and we could even see it opening and closing eyes, stretching to take a snooze...
After walking ard for some time, we gave the kids a lollie for them to be 'entertained' while we make a final dash to the exit to head for our dinner....a rare treat of the lollie coz they are never given lollie unless needed but yet Ian managed to bite the sweet off the stick...sigh guess that's a sign not to give him more since even taking it so rarely he could even do such 'trick' which can damage his teeth hhmm
Before we went out of the zoo, ah mu was so nice to give each kid a choice of an animal t-shirt from the souvenir shop....the kids took their pic and of coz for ian, we chose the Elephant t-shirt for him coz its was his fav animal and that was the most memorable experience we had today! Guess the kids will rem this trip with the t-shirt and here they are on the wagon....just happy sitting on it tho Ian did ask to be pushed ard...sigh this takes more energy than the pram man and my, its so ex just to rent it! Ian, just sit on ur pram and be contented ya!! hahaha u could get more t-shirts by not sitting on these wagons!

And of coz a shot to rem this trip! Guess we could pic all the grps shots and see how the kids have grown even just by visiting the zoo! Just glad daddy has this privilege of getting the zoo pass and we could hop by again to visit the exhibits we missed today and of coz the kiddy's world which we totally missed today coz weather is not well and the kids aren't well either!! We shall be back again =) just feel like we are friends of the zoo as well hahaaa

Ian's finally taking medicine!!!

just on Mon, Ian was down with phlegmy cough and flu and daddy decided to take him to see doc. Mama was skeptical abt Ian seeing doc and taking his medicine coz he's always refusing medicine no matter how we coax or how many pple coax. Just 2 Sundays ago, ah maa was saying how we shld try make him take med or even bring to her pl so more pple can coax him to eat med. Anw guess we are 1 of the few parents who won't take the kid to see doc even tho he's sick coz before Ian was 2, most of the time he recovered on his own (ie no medicine)

din know this runs in the genes. Ah maa said daddy was like that as well and ah maa and ah gong had to corner him and take him by hands and legs to force it down his throat....hahaa now daddy's son (ie Ian) is smarter coz after we force the med down his throat, he is still able to get the med out from his throat by throwing up together with his other eaten stuff =( so after some of these episodes, we kindof gave up asking him to take med

But he surprised us when mama casually asked if he wanna take med (coz he was having runny nose) and he said OK so quickly take med and sweet to ask him to take med. He opened his mouth and swallowed down without much fuss...oh that moment seemed so impossible but he did it except that he doesn't like the 'strawberry' one coz its pink in color and still have to take time to coax him for that....but this time we sure hope he recovers faster since he rarely takes med...and of coz his motivation is such that he can take his orange juice, yogurt, yakult and ice cream soon hhmm

Ian turns 32 mths old!

This past mth seems the longest mth coz we spent an entire wk of hols and time together as a family builds the family unit and we spent so much time with Ian that we had so much fun with this little boy. As much as he brings much cheer and joy to us, he brought the same to po2, ah gong and dayi. This was a gd wk of capturing nice pics of Ian =) guess with all his 'cheeses', it just got better!
He has this liking for rabbits (apart from piglet) and whenever we went ah mu's pl, he's sure to pick up Seth's gor2's rabbit soft toy and even when we were at this shop during the Aust trip, he went for this rabbit toy and insisted we get it for him (glad its just 50cents) and it 'entertained' him thru the trip.
We have been always strict abt the sweet stuff he takes and made sure he never over indulge in it but this trip we just gave him more freedom. He had such a gd time at the Chocolate Shop, yogurt and ice cream shops! Guess he has a little sweet tooth just like his daddy. Upon returning home, 1 nite he saw daddy savoring this last bit of chocolate which po2 intended to bring back but somehow it landed with us and he was actually 'competing' with his daddy to see who eats more of the choc chips. Guess his wkly intake of sugar comes from Sunday Sch where candies and chocs are given out to kids....sigh guess we need to reduce his sugar intake.
During the trip he had couple of lollies (which is rare for him coz we dun encourage endless sucking of lolly) but well its just a treat from po2 to him, guess he knows who to go for sweet treat now! That was an 'indulgent' trip hahaha
Just the other day during his camping at po2's place, he had endless requests for sweets so po2 decided to ask him to call mama to see if he was allowed to have more. To mama's surprise, after mama said NO to him on the phone, he packed the sweet back into container and told po2 that mama said 'NO' well quite an obedient boy I must say

During the trip, Ian has proven to be a boy who's suited for travelling. Since he was young, we made sure he had balanced diet so we din want to go for all vege, all meat or all organic food so that when he grows up he won't be such a fussy eater and also when we travel he could just eat whatever is in his plate. So for all the meals, he ate the celery, carrot, meat pieces be it rice or noodle, he will just finish it clean! And he could eat on his own even attempting to use chopsticks just coz the rest of us were using it. Kindof proud of this, my boy! It makes it much easier without having to coax him to eat.
The only meal he proved to be tough was Fish and Chips (maybe we shouldn't have taken that as well!) coz he was going for chips more than fish....hhmm well during our 2 visits to subway, he was game for sandwiches as well( tho mama was a bit skeptical whether he would like the hardy sandwich) but he ate well and enjoyed it thru!

Tho this is his 2nd flight, he was totally excited abt taking the plane and din quite want to take a wink till he was really tired and finally dozed off. Guess compared to his 1st flight, he sure knows more and easier to bring along. We did have some crying babies on plane and we were just glad we brought Ian on plane when he was bigger coz it was easier to distract him with other stuff like food and puzzles when he was confined to his seat and have to be buckled up! Now he knows when the buckle sign is on, he needs to sit down and buckle up! With that, he is asking for more plane trips and endless asking of daddy when we could go Australia again hehee...even ah maa is surprised he could say he wanna go AUSTRALIA!! Endless asking us abt this hhmm...my son, u gonna earn money to go this far leh!

Here's a donut treat to our son who is turning 32 mths! We headed to J Co last Sat and he was thrilled with the donuts....usually he has the plain glazed one but mama knowing this boy doesn't like nuts, so we got the nut one coz we will eat the top while he finishes the bottom! haha upon returning the trip, he has been asking for chocolate so in exchange, we have been giving him Nutella spread on bread and he's never tired of eating it every day! That's his dose of choc hahaa

Guess where are we???

After fetching ah maa to Bt Panjang for her tea ceremony coz some relative is getting married today, we headed to Bt Timah Hill after bf....but we weren't quite equipped for the long walk (as we thot weather might not be too gd for walk) so we only walked up and down the super steep slope as Ian was checking out for monkeys but we weren't in a treat for them! On the way back, we were thinking where else we could go and we went back to our old sch!
Hhaaa yes the long stairway looks familiar its the linkway from mama's faculty to daddy's faculty in NUS! Ian din understand when we said its mama and daddy's sch and asking if he wanna come to this sch and he says dun want! haha guess coz there aren't any kids and everyone saw him found it cute coz he was running along the walkway leading from Arts canteen to Engin canteen!

And we finally reached Engin canteen to get lunch! hhmm kindof nostalgic as we passed thru those LTs and tutorial rooms....wah its been almost a decade (for mama) since graduation, Tho we been back for meals there even during our dating days and after had Ian but the nostalgic feeling is always there. The corners look the same tho major 'revamps' have been done to the central lib and the tutorial rooms.....sigh those were the yrs! And even waiting for daddy to come pick mama up at the bus stop it just brought back memories of 'chasing' after bus with friends hahaa...some gd old memories! Guess its nice just to be back once in a while to check out the place huh....and also to get to taste some sch food!

Yea! Now Ian can enter into IKEA's playland!

Just abt a month ago, we finally are able to 'deposit' Ian to the Ikea's playland for an hr! Previously, his cousins have been going in without Ian go along as we felt he might not be able to go in as he has yet to reach the height limit (which is 90cm) and also the kids might be quite rough as he's still too small! Well, we finally tried and to our surprise he has surpassed the 90cm mark by quite a fair bit!
Yesterday was the 2nd time Ian has visited the playland and here he is with his 2 excited cousins who can't wait to 'take care' of their Ian di2 as he joins them in the playland (the last time we din manage to capture any shots as the kids were too excited hhmm)

Here they are with their boxes and u can see Ian's still not too experienced with it coz his box is empty coz its meant for them to put their stuff (incl. shoes) before entering!

Still looking blur and yet following his cousins to enter the playland! But he's sure big enough to carry the box with his shoes as well hahaa

Here's No. 29 entering the playland. Yes, they are each given a number so that they could be 'retrieved' easily when their parents come to ask for them! Its a precious hr which mama could spend with ah mu when the kids are indoor. hhmm guess its alot quieter in the morning so the lady allowed them to stay slightly longer than an hr. Previously the staff did ask not to bring the smaller kids during peak time like wkends coz they might be vulnerable to the bigger and rougher kids. hhmm what they play inside we are not sure except we know there is a tv area which has lots of soft toys....a play ball area and a tree looking like swing (which we could observe from outside) guess that's the privilege of being a kid huh! Well Ian can go in till he reaches 120cm huh....hope that doesn't come so soon hahaa...this is a gd alternative playground for rainy days!

Ian's watching IAN....

Just wks before we left for Perth, Ian has started watching his fav dvd on a daily basis (at least twice a day!) for a kid who rarely watches tv, now he's requesting to watch it on a daily basis and he's real happy when he gets to watch it coz its singing time =) he's enjoying the set of DVD that has the Sunday Sch songs and his fav songs are 'Down in my heart' (with the portion that has I am so happy, so v happy coz I have the love of Jesus in my heart) and 'Deep and wide' and now he is able to sing and hum them quite well after wks of watching them (yea we brought it along to the aust trip coz mama knew there were dvd players and at nite can be boring so he was having his singing time at nites!)

After we came back from the trip, we have converted the trip video to CD and at the same time we converted some of the tapes which we had some time ago but never managed to convert them and in 1 of it, we found a short clip of video which mama took when Ian was really young (guess barely less than 1 yo) and now he's amazed when he saw himself in the tv crawling ard the house hehe....here's a pic of him trying to 'catch' himself hheee just glad we managed to capture him when he was younger...for some momento sake!

Ian's little gf??

hehee after we returned from Perth and meeting up with Ian's most missed cousins and ah mu, here's a 'loving' scene we saw while the kids were watching Ian's fav DVD....so cute isn't it??
Here's the most fought with 'couple' hehee maybe coz their age is quite close they tend to fight and snatch quite abit hehee but lately they have been alot better and here's the evidence of them being v pally =) wish they stay this close all the time huh
