1st playdate w our neighbor Magco

We hv been neighbors since we shifted in but it has never gone beyond Hi n Bye until we all got kids n till they entered same kindergarten. They r 1 yr apart n last yr both started Sch, Ian in nursery n Magco in pre-N n we also barely talk much. It was till Ian started Sch bus late last yr tat both kids got acquainted n both will race along e corridors when back fm Sch.

This yr, Ian started taking Sch bus to Sch n then both started playing 'u cannot catch me' game while waiting every morning so her mum started inviting us over except tat coz Ian doesn't take nap so it was tough coinciding play time. Tdy her mum happened to b on lve n invited us over at 5pm n it was nice seeing how both kids play n Ian at others territory. Both din wanna end e playdate but gotta go back for dinner. See when we could do this again. Seems so convenient since we r just a few doors away n every toy just seem so fun to Ian!

Ian's sch CNY celebration

On chu san, the sch has CNY celebration and parents are invited to join in and daddy took am lve as he has also promised Ian to prep sandwiches for him to bring sch to share with other friends (as the K1s are asked to bring items to share and prior to the event we were told to indicate what we wanna bring to prevent too much food wastage) and here he is with his friends singing all the CNY songs he has been learning in sch....last yr mama did come for this event too but he was so much into singing and actions as yet coz he just started nursery....this yr we see alot of his actions and singing even back home, guess he has really learnt more from sch or perhaps more aware this yr?

And last yr mama rem it was only the K2s performing and this yr the K2s performed but Ian's class did as well coz the item they did for the sch concert last yr was v chinese mood too so they performed the same thing too and it was nice coz this time mama managed to capture the whole video just focusing on him hahhaa coz the video we got for the concert he was at the side so din see much of him....anw he just din wear the suit coz he told mama to wear but told him dun need hahaha coz we din know he was to perform....anw it was nice seeing the performance again

And it was tea time! And here he is with his shy look hahhahaa coz mama was standing there and his friend called him to say 'Ian, ur mummy is here!' hhmm wonder how come the boy knows I am his mummy hhhmm anw it was nice to be back at his sch again and catch up with his teacher which mama used to do when we walk to sch together last yr....so much memories hhmm

Visit to the Sentosa Flowers

After all the bai nian on chu yi, we had this rare chance to go to Sentosa so we jio ah maa to visit the flowers....this shld be the 3rd Sentosa flowers we are visiting but the 1st for our Joann mei2

We saw alot of flowers and some LIVE ones too hehehee but think Ian was abit scared off by their looks hehhee but anw they were friendly and din need to queue to take with them hahhaa

The fave was this one with Nemo, it looks so pretty with flowers shaped with Nemo and the kids loved this one!

Being the draagon yr, this was the highlight of the display coz it was featured on tv and ah maa said it took them 4 days to complete but yet there was hardly any queue for this unlike the other more popular flowers

And the kids ended off with a Luge ride....it hhas been some time they took this ride and this time mama took with Ian as mei2 was too small to take so daddy walked with her in pram back to the beach car park....the kids loved it tho it was a long wait for it.....well time really flies coz the last time Seth was still so young and this time he could ride on his own....shall dig the pics to compare their looks!

Happy New Year to all!

Last yr we were celebrating with just 3 of us and we could move quite mobile as Ian was sleeping on the go and he could be stretched for each family visit.....well he could also be controlled for the goodie

This dragon yr, we are blessed with Joann mei2 born in the yr of Rabbit.....tho we have a 'heavier' burden hheee since she needs her beauty sleep but we shall see but Ian shld be enjoying the visits more since he's really not needing his nap anymore but need to control his feasting at the places hehee....gd to see how our kids grow from yr to yr and so looking fwd to next yr when Joann can join us at the reunion dinner table and probably getting some food but not the goodies yet hahhaaa

Reunion dinner part 2!

Yest we had dinner w ah maa n ah gong n tdy was with po2 n ah gong n e kids were so looking fwd to e gathering, feasting n lo hei again! Yes, look at e grins w e lo hei n they had lots of crackers again!

In front of e table was our reunion dinner feast! It was more than a time of Gd food but also Gd company! This marks e start of feasting of Gd food n fellowship for e new yr! We will b so looking fwd to meeting friends n families!

Lo Hei!!!

Ian has been learning much abt CNY tradition this yr and 1 of it was Lo Hei but he pronounced it v ang mo ascent hahahaa he said he watched a video abt Lo Hei and he was excited abt it when we said we were gonna pick yusheng today for lo hei at reunion dinner at ah maa and ah gong house today and here he is with mama to pick up yusheng from 7th storey at Marina Barrage adn later he had some fun with the lo hei and 'complained' the 2 persons beside him made his hands v messy hehehe and asked tons of questions abt lo hei but he enjoyed the fun and enjoyed the crackers most as he sat in front of the yusheng and was fishing out the crackers to go with his dinner hhmm, Tmr we will pick up 'pen cai' and guess he will ask even more hahhaa so much abt our feasting yes but gotta watch hhmmm

Working it out before the feasting begins!

It has been a wet dec and we rarely got chance to be out in the sun on Sat mornings or either we choose the easier way out by shopping our way out hehehe but today we decided to work out before the feastings begin.....we had bf and hit straight to ECP for some 'work out' as Ian is into nasi lemak these days and we had that for bf at our fav Tg pagar ehheee and so he wanted cycling so we strolled with Joann in pram and the boy went cycling.....we had an hr of gd work out and the boy said his butt was aching hahhaaa well daddy got us teh tarik so the boy was asking for his....so we made him cycle back to our car there for the vending machine and so much abt the 'ache' he was so motivated and he got his sports drink as he said he did perspire much from the cycling and none for us as we din cycle ahhaaaa.....anw it was a gd morning workout as mei2 slept in the pram

Guess we shld be doing this every wkend as it's gd workout for all of us and we could get the fresh air as well and it's a gd time for us to get Joann to have her morning nap on the pram so it's gd for everyone hehhee but we shld come more prep the next time with our drinks and perhaps some mat for the beach fun! And here we are ready for the CNY feasting to begin!

Celebrating daddy's bday!

Some days ago, mama asked Ian to draw in a card for daddy and it's to be a surprise card but he couldn't wait till the day to give him and so daddy knew abt the card....sigh so much abt surprise....anw on this special day, daddy could only take half day lve coz it's near CNY and many colleagues are on lve...anw it's gd enough for us as Ian comes back half day as well so we had a bday lunch and then went to soak up the shopping fun at supermarket hahaha and did more shopping before we had dinner....and this thick french toast with ice cream was like an oily dessert to end the dinner hahaa wonder whose bday issit with such sinful dessert!

It was a short but 'family' way of spending the day with daddy as we ended the nite with a simple cake but we were too full hahaa after a day of eating and so the cake is still in our fridge hehehee tho Ian wanted v much to eat the choc cake but we felt it was too much for him to take....anw happy bday to bday boy and well it's another yr of journey with God and truly pray for more wisdom and love for God and this family too! Thanks for making the many efforts in rushing back daily even tho there are tons of work to do but ur son never fails to bug u to come home early for daddy time ahhaaa but well ur bday tis yr is special as it falls over the CNY period so it seems like an extended bday break for u

The tea party...

We have been invited for Uncle Kenneth & Auntie Salome's housewarming but it was just w ah mu n ah baa's family over a tea session. Ian has been asking where they stay aft they got married n tdy we visited their place n it was real cosy as they had a room with a Gd view n e kids were having tea in e room. Just loved e room as it just has this European (out of spore) feeling n the kids were in fact treated w alot of cakes n all baked by Auntie Salome. They had so much servings tat we suspected they were high on sugar haha.

It was nice of them to prepare materials for e kids to do coloring n even stickers aft their tea so e adults could chat! It was a lovely tea party we had as so much catching was done as seldom hv e luxury of kids busy-ing on their own. N uncle Kenneth even played this 'cockroach salad' game (a German game) n e kids just loved e new game. Really a nice afternoon spent with e couple!

Happy 58 mths old!!!

This has been a happening mth for Ian as it was his 1st extended hols since he started sch 1 yr ago and was asking if we could go Australia since its holiday as we went Perth the last Jun hols. Anw he knew it was sch hols and he could go stay at the north and we told him as mei2 is still young, we cant travel too far and the next trip will be with the Chng folks and since then he has been asking when are we going Msia with Jiu2, Aunty Lorr, ah mu, ah baa, dayi and all, hhmm guess this boy just loves holiday! This holiday he has the most happy meals coz we caught the show Alvin & chipmunks and he went crazy collecting the whole collection! He was out alone with dayi on 2 occasions and was treated to the meal and when he stayed over po2's pl he asked for happy meal twice sigh.....and when we were on our anniversary trip, he requested to get the last 2 and we obliged...wondering if we shld catch any more movie hhmm anyway think its a happy happy hols for him

This mth there were so many occasions daddy took lve and we brought him out to various places and malls and he just loves the care bear and glad we had so much chances to be out of home as it means more family time and it has been fun with Joann as well!

This dec we then see that Ian starts to appreciate presents and went a little crazy over receiving presents as he was asking when he can get present and can't wait to open them as in the past he will patiently wait to open them, guess he's growing up big huh .

We had alot of glorious food this hols as we explored various places and this was 1 of Ian's fav places as it had Kaya Prata, Cheese Prata and egg prata so imagine how much prata he had as he had bits of every of them and he told us it was so yummy hhmm he was never quite prata person prior to that...as in he will eat bbut not so much , yes he ate all that chunk on the plate!

The happiest thing to take place is the quality time he has with daddy since daddy was clearing lve and there were things he just had to do with daddy as he knows mei2 might need mummy at times and with that, guess he just drew so much closer to daddy as it was nice of him askingn if daddy was back home when he stayed over the north and with the schedule drawn for the new yr, there is a slot at nite which is daddy time and he is so lookign fwd to it every nite as it meant reading or playing time with daddy while mama busy with mei2 zzz time and he was disappointed whenever daddy was home late.....guess he just loves daddy time coz it means doing things out of the norm! There were occasions we had to dabao back home and he doesn't mind going to tb mkt to dabao with daddy....guess he loves daddy time alone!

Yea that is Ian smurfy as he has been crazy over smurf game on ipad and it was a game he chanced upon this mth which u have to keep growing plants to get points and $$ to go next level and keep on doing it and he was really CRAZY over the game coz when we are out, he will sometimes ask to go home coz his 'tomatoes' shld be ready hahhaa he even got us addicted to the game hahaa so we dun need real plants and this was a pic he got from the smurf game adn it was fun adding smurf hats to pic! we are learnin all the smurf names hahaaa

With our anniversary trip, we saw how he has become bolder but yet more mischievious....he would dare to try all games and even the challenging ones we are afraid he might not dare...compare to almost 1.5yr ago when we last went Genting he din dare take alot rides, now he was asking for Viking even (if u rem the scary boat game at such amustment park) guess our boy is truly growing but wonder where his mischiefs come from as we see the naughty part in him this trip, he will try funny stuff which sometimes get us quite mad coz he is testing our patience whenever ask him not to do stuff....guess we just need consistently tell him and keep our rules clear....maybe he has too much time back home so start all this stuff but just need to keep telling him, we guess. But wonder where the genes came from heeee This mth we also got him a new study desk as we reckon he is getting taller and needs more proper writing table and he has been happy with his new table and doing more stuff on it. It's just another 2 mths away to his bday and he is looking fwd to giving goodie bag as he has never done before and has been seeing his classmates doing it! He is surely counting down to that day and that would be the end of his 1st term so another 9 wks to go!

Ian had his 1st music class today

Boy, was ian excited abt his music class. We came back early fm our JB trip in order to make it for ian's 1st music class n he kept asking us to hurry as he wanted go music class. As e junior course is for kids 4-5.5 yo, a parent is to accompany e kid in order there is follow up practice when at home. Anw it was decided daddy to go with him as there would b times mei2 needs feed or sleep by mama. We shall see how it goes!

This is e class setting n kids r asked to go in front for instructions. N a name tag is given to each kid for identification by teacher Cecilia. Well din capture a proper pic as mei2 was going to zz so mama zoomed off w e pram. For the 1st wk, there's homework already n Ian can't wait to play a song on his piano hhaa but wonder how many lessons will get Hin there! Enjoy ur music learning

Mama and daddy's 6th wedding anniversary trip - JB, Danga Bay Tune Hotel

Yes, we have this tradition to go stay hotel for wedding anniversary....last yr we were at Novotel Mercure Roxy and then we planned to go JB this yr for shopping and eating n when dayi shared with us abt this new and cheap hotel we were keen coz we have passed by this hotel whenever we drive to Melaka and thot y not try and we have heard of Danga Bay even b4 we got married, yes coz couples do come here to take pics of the amusement park but well our plan was just to shop and eat but the danga bay brought us some pleasant surprise!

Here is the tune hotel which is a basic hotel n u could add on stuff like air con credit, tv, wifi, breakfast and even towels! Well ours was the basic one coz we wanted

ceiling fan, no tv, no wifi (since it has Spore network!) and we even brought our own towels yes coz of hygiene esp for Joann.....we had prep Ian with no swimming pool but he was happy with the hotel coz of the fun he had at the place and he was asking for 1 more nite when we were going to check out sigh....endless fun huh! The room is small compared to other hotels but it had whatever we needed and the sink was in fact so big we could bathe Joann in it hahhaaa coz it would be tough bathing her in the stand up shower as we did for Ian's 1st holiday! N we had gd time spent in the room as we were hardly in the room and we were back early for Joann's early nite rest tho 2nd nite was a bit late and we bought breakfast to eat in the room for Joann had her morning nap for the 1st morning as she was up real early! So here's Ian with his bun for breakfast before we set off to Tebrau for his indoor play fun and he went off with daddy for the token fun and in fact wanted more we had to zoom for lunch and shopping as there were CNY goodies to get from the mall! Yes, that was our plan to get when we wanted to stay JB since this yr CNY is early!

Then we went for Danga Bay to check out the beach and teh amusement park...there was some huge tricycles for rent to explore the beach....yes like those at our ECP but it is cheaper here...we will come again for the ride coz it would be fun! Ian wanted to take the rides thho it was only 4pm but it was already operating! N guess what we were teh only 2 on the ferris wheel and they would operate whatever u wanna play...as if u book the whole place huh! The weather was cooling so was kindof nice to be at the top of wheel! Ian wanted more rides but told him to explore the place before choosing another one!

He wanted more thirlling ones but we told him to take simpler ones first and then told him we could come after dinner as the lights will be nicer in the dark! hehheee so we went off to check out the beach and also dinner place!

We found this playground and it was amazing coz there were abt 10 swings there sigh....so he had his usual swinging fun before we could go on again....guess always with his fun we had hard time moving on, no wonder we were back at hotel so so late hehee yes, the next day he rem this playground adn wanted to come back but it looked quite cloudy so we din but we would be back again someday!

We saw this cruise along the bay and was sunset so captured a shot tho the clouds kindof hid the sun but it was a cooling nite and we were glad it wasn't pouring like Spore was for the nite!

We found this outdoor dinner place and alot memories like our old satay club coz they also sold satay here but our order din come but we were glad it din coz we ordered too much hehee they have those set here and we got the stingray and the sambal was gd and they had those fish for kids, egg adn veg so we had a gd and cheap dinner adn there were alot more food to try but we couldn't squeeze more and Ian was endlessly asking for the amusement fun so we ate our dinner, Joann took her nite nap and we went back to the park!

This time we found the other side of the park with the game booths....yes, like our old pasar malam and their games were similar to our time....abit back to the past feeling czo the things look so old and familiar, we were all happy playing there hahhaa here's Ian with his RM$10 token and soon went off scouting what he could play!

The simpler ones were rolling the ping pong ball to get the points to redeem prizes but seem tough to get high scores but he was happy just with teh sheets of stickers! He even wanted to try the dart game but seem tough even when we observed some adults playing hhmm well he tried other games which were more suitable for kids!

And with the tickets, hre are is prizes hahhaa a bag and some stickers and he is real happy to bring him them tho he would love a soft toy but well that would be endless play there hahhaa but it was fun just immersing ourselves in teh fun place! It was abit like our time of huan le yuan which my parents brought us when we were younger and it was before arcades came abt and we wont mind letting Ian have such fun coz we are so deprived these days of the simple fun!

We went back to room for sleep and the interesting quote outside our room was kindof gd for our wedding anniversary....there are many advert posters in teh room and toilet....maybe with such advert they could bring down the hotel price....anyway tis hotel we dun see so many Spore cars but rather more JB cars in teh car park !

So that was the end of our fun but short stay and this boy was in fact loving every part of it and kept asking to stay longer but well our gd things must come to an end and we went off for last leg of shopping before coming back for his 1st music class adn we were near this Macs for him to collect his chipmunks....well the happy meal is cheaper there so what we did was to get a meal with the toy and come back and change coz it was a wk later than Spore adn Ian just needed his last Alvin to make it complete! That is the end of his happy meal craze we hope!

And opp Macs was the Jusco again and we went to get more stuff hehhee and he was at teh indoor playground again and with 4 tokens he took so long to choose his play and told him he could take joy ride in JB only coz mama could sit in the bus as well and it was only RM$1 hahhaaa cheap fun! And he wanted to go in the playground but guess it would be more fun if he came with his cousins so told him next time! Well at the end of the trip, we felt it was more of his bday feeling rather than our wedding anniversary hehee but well the most impt is we all had fun and gd time together! We shall be back again soon huh...on this day we are glad God has given us kids to make our anniversary more fun and enjoyable!

Our staycation at JB, tune hotel!

We planned for a wkend getaway a yr ago to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary n it happened to hv promo for tune hotel, danga bay n dayi recommended e pl as she came b4 n it was on sale for a yr later. We booked even b4 we even had Joann in our plan for e trip.

The hotel is really basic, a small rm w a bed n if u want aircon, tv, wifi etc u just add on. It's Gd for us coz we r not used to sleeping in air con so ceiling fan is Gd. We dun need tv as joann sleeps early so basically we just need a pl to zz n then go shopping. E hotel is new so rms r still clean. Just tat we have some bedding problem as our bb wasn't in e plan. Anw we hv just checked in n it was a nice drive in as Joann n Ian slept on their car seats n refreshened upon checking in. We then ventured to nearby hypermarket n dinner n returned for an early nite.

New year, new start

It has been Gd as Ian started his full swing of 4hrs Sch. At least could spend time doing chores, making Joann sleep n spending time w her n then with Ian when he's home. So we drew up a time table for him to follow n for him to tell time.

Now he won't pester mama what to dp but run to schedule n then tell mama wat to do. Except tat mama needs to get more art n craft stuff coz hard to sustain daily hee

N for Sch, this being wk 1 Ian started his Chinese painting on thur n came back teaching mama how to hold e brush hhaa tat's his painting n he came back w an oversized tee shirt coz we were told to pack 1 old tee for them in case dirtied e uniform. Well let's see wat r e other enrichment classes for him next wk!
